JVM for Intel PXA250

Hi NG,
i have some different vm's(jeode, J9, Creme, Superwaba). These works with a lot processors, but as far as i know, they don't support an intel pxa250.
Is this processor for example, similar with StrongArm?
I would be glad, if someone is in this ng, who has worked on a pxa250(and has positive experience ;-)), or someone knows a processor that is similar with pxa250 that is supported by the aforesaid vm's.
Best regards,
Sigi

Hi All,
I am trying to use superwaba on i.roc with a processor intel PXA255.
But for some reason, i cannot get it work. The error seems to be uncaught exception, it is about XPlatIoScanner.dll. On the other hand, the same software works perfectly on other machines that we have tried.
Could you please let me know which files i must use to be able use waba in this machine as you have already resolved this problem.
Thanks in advance

No, the JVM and shared libraries included with the distribution are
    SPARC binaries...

Your MacBook Air is an Intel-based system. To download the current version (11.2.202.228),  go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ and download it from there.
If there is still a Flash issue, you can try the Google Chrome browser, which has the current Flash built into it, to see if it works any differently with the videos. It's available from https://www.google.com/chrome

  • This device cannot start. (Code 10) Status Device Power Failure for Intel (R) Audio Display

Hi I just bought HP Envy M7 Sleekbook last week and upgraded from 8.0 to 8.1 for Windows 8.
Now I have no sound and this is the error message I get:
This device cannot start. (Code 10) Status Device Power Failure  (for  Intel (R) Audio Display)
under Sound, Vieo and Game Controllers in the Device Manager.
Anyone else having this issue after upgrading?
Getting a new lappy is stressful enough but to alreay have issues is ridiculous
If the upgrade is not the issue could something have happened in transit? (I have an issue with the way Best Buy packed it for shipment and wonder if it could have been compromised)
Any help is appreciated. Or should Ibe taing this back to best buy and have them address it?
    Thanks
    Pam

Ahmed, if your HP Envy has an Intel processor chances are it will be necessary to download new drivers for both sound and chipset due to compatibility issues with Windows 8.1. After 4-1/2 hours on the phone with various technical agents and a lot of frustration I finally got one who had the knowledge and training to resolve my issue. I believe he downloaded the new drivers from the HP support site. Good luck!!

  • How to Install Solaris for Intel so that it boots off from a boot floppy?

    Hi all,
Sorry to bother you with this one (I went through all documentations/manuals and could not find straight answers to following
    specific questions):
I have one hard drive with 1st partition used by Windows XP and a second partition that's a blank FAT 32 (using Partition Magic)
I want to use for Solaris for Intel.
    My very specific questions:
(1)That blank Fat32 partition: can I run the Solaris install over it ..or should I absolutely make sure that it's a blank UFS formatted
partition? I am asking you that because all manuals (except one) pretend that I can run my Solaris install on a blank Fat partition...
but I believe that documentation at multiboot.solaris-x86.org stresses that if the partition is not a blank UFS one, it wont install Solaris
(2)As you already know, some Oses like Linux or FreeBSD can be installed on a partition and be booted off a boot floppy.
So without that boot floppy, no trace of the OS. How can I do that with Solaris for Intel. I want my Solaris to boot off a boot floppy only.
BTW, I currently have Solaris 7 for Intel.
    Thanks for the answers.

(1)That blank Fat32 partition: can I run the Solaris install over it ..or should I absolutely make sure that it's a blank UFS formatted You can install Solaris to that blank FAT32 drive but Solaris WILL convert it to UFS BEFORE doing the install. In other words, after the install it will be UFS and not FAT32 anymore.
So without that boot floppy, no trace of the OS. How can I do that with Solaris for Intel. I want my Solaris to boot off a boot floppy only. Not that I know of. Some people have reported booting Solaris off of a USB drive though.

  • How can I use the "gcc compiler and emacs editor" in Solaris 8 for Intel?

I installed Solaris 8 for Intel to my desktop computer.
After the installation, I found I couldn't use the companion software (the software CD included in the Multilinugal Media Kit for Solaris 8) - especially the emacs editor and gcc compilers.
I certainly installed the companion software to my computer. And I can identify that those softwares are
really installed to my system. In order to check out whether I installed them or not, I went to the "System Administrator" and opened the "Solaris Product Registry", in which I identified that all the files in
the companion software were succesfully installed in my computer.
However, when I open terminal or console box and tries to use those
software, the system responds that "there is no emacs or gcc."
Why I cannot use those things?
Did I install the companion software wrong?
    I really don't understand why I can't use them.
For your reference, I saw the directories "/usr/bin" and "usr/ccs/bin"
    too.
    In /usr/bin I typed
    #as
    and no such command.
    In /usr/ccs/bin
    #as
    and also no such command
was what I had as a response.
If I installed the companion software CD correctly and if they are installed somewhere in my computer,
where I can find them and how I can use those softwares?
Lastly, whenever I try to connect to my ISP via telnet mode, I see this
    message.
    "Try to connect ...
connected to ***.***.***.*** (IP address of my ISP)
    Closed by foreign hosts."
Is there any one who knows why this happens?
    Thanks for reading my question.

gcc and emacs install in /opt/sfw. You should change your path statement to include /opt/sfw/bin and should obtain the FAQ from sunfreeware.com. The FAQ answers all your questions.
I have installed gcc and gtk and am using both at this time.

I have Final Cut Studio V1 - the PPC/Intel V5/5.1 cross-grade version, which would suit your requirements perfectly. (I have it for sale at present down here).
If you keep looking, you're sure to find a similar second hand copy in your area, without the need to upgrade your graphics card.
I'd go for Final Cut Pro as above over any version of Express. FCP has the full version of LiveType - not the truncated version that was released later on.

  • Current state of photoshop plug-ins for Intel?

The good news (I guess) is that CS3 is now Universal. A reason to send a large chunk of money to Adobe.
Bad news seems to be that every plug-in I've looked at so far is not available for Intel OS-X. (Admittedly I've only looked at a few like FocusMagic and FocusFixer -- but I'm detecting a theme.)
What are Intel Mac users doing for PhotoshopCS3-compatible plug-ins?

If you go to the following site you will get much of the information you need as well as some useful tools. Some of the downloads will also come will a plain text document with instructions on how to install plug-ins.

  • Oracle Instant Client for Intel MacOS X

Hi all, this is my first post here (so I don't know if it's the proper place, but to try it is free. Sorry for any inconvenience).
Anybody, can confirm/explain why, one year after launch, there isn't one available download of Oracle Instant Client for Intel MacOS X?
Without it's impossible, for example, to compile PHP with OCI support under Intel MacOS X (native mode) and it's really a pain.
With PPC version existing since ages, wouldn't be absolutely easy to recompile that cool stuff for Intel MacOS X?
TIA and ciao, Eloy Lafuente :-)

    Hi again...
just to know a bit more... two months later... how is customer demand going...?
Have you searched for "macos x instant client intel" ?
    Aren't PHP/Perl/Ruby applications enough?
I sincerely think it's a big mistake to don't offer native connectivity for MacOS X Intel users... of course, your mistake.
Some developers, like me, will stop developing/improving Oracle support in their applications just because they use MacOS X to develop. So, those applications won't run ok under Oracle, no matter where you deploy them.
With thousands of applications running natively under MacOS X Intel... isn't there (@ Oracle) able to recompile that tiny piece of software to run under Intels... sorry but I cannot believe it.
I'll email SJ right now! Ciao :-)

  • Solaris 10 64bit for Intel's EMT64 Technology???

I've read about SUN's support for AMD's 64 bit technology and the recently release commercial Server Platforms.
Does anyone know IF SUN's Solaris 10 release is available in 64bit aware flavor for Intels' EM64T XEON processors?
I also read the Solaris 10 Specs on SUN's site (http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/specs.html) and it states that EM64T is a "Supported Platform", but that's about it. Any further elaboration would be appreciated.
I look forward to your responses.
    Thanks,

Not sure about the Pentium EM64T compatibility (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EM64T ) but it runs great on my dual-Xeon EM64T box, a Dell SC1425. And as you probably know, the EM64T is not a true 64-bit processor, but has extensions that allow it to access >4GB memory.
There's also an entry in the Solaris HCL for the Dell SC1425 server.

  • Linux: which toolkit is used in JVM for heavyweight components?

    Hi,
which toolkit is used by the Linux-variant of the JVM for the heavyweight-components? GTK?
    Oxy

java.awt.Toolkit is abstract. He means what implementation is used (motif-based, etc.). For example, sun.awt.motif.MToolkit.
It might vary from one Linux variant to another (and from one JVM version to another), I'm not sure. But for any particular Linux system, you can run this program to find out:
    import java.awt.*;
    public class test {
       public static void main(String[] args) {
          System.out.println(Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getClass());
