JWSDP1.3 - 'pre-installed' XML deployment files
In the current JWSDP-1.3 Tutorial, there is the following text on p. 810 (chapter on JSF):
"Running the Examples Using the Pre-Installed XML Files
The Java WSDP 1.3 includes an XML file for each example application in the <JWSDP_HOME>/webapps directory. This file causes an application to be automatically deployed when you start Tomcat...."
However, in the JWSDP-1.3 (installable download), those files are not there (I have downloaded and installed it twice).
I assume this is an error. Where are these files in the v 1.3 release? How are they used? There appears to be inconsitencies between the 1.2 and 1.3 directory/file locations as indicated in the Tutorial documentation.
Thanks
You are right. The location of the context files changed in
1.3. They are now located in <jwsdp_home>/conf/Catalina/locahost.

How to make a image file from Pre installed Mac osx ? "PLEASE HELP :("?
hey guys ..Thanks u for the time.
So i have this eMac which has crashed and i have got may hands on another eMac.. and it works
... the only problem is.. I can take my eMac to the working eMac to do Target Mode or any thing...
So Help me..
My question is .. Is there a way to make a .DMG image file from pre installed mac osx OR
Is there a way to may a recovery disc??You can use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy everything from the working eMac onto the non-working eMac while the working eMac is running. If your eMac will still do target mode into the working one, you can download the above software, select the booted drive as the source drive, and your eMac's drive as the target, however it is possible this will not work.
When you say your eMac crashed, what exactly happened? It is possible that the hard drive in your eMac failed or is failing, so in order to get it running again you would need to replace the hard drive. On the eMac, this repair is somewhat involved, and you have to be very careful because it exposes the CRT, which has several areas which can be extremely dangerous to touch if not properly handled. CRTs retain a great deal of voltage, even when unplugged, sometimes for weeks, and they can give you a nasty shock if you touch them in the wrong place.
Also keep in mind that cloning from the working computer to the non-working computer will ERASE any data that you have stored on that eMac, so if you don't have it backed up anywhere, you may want to attempt that with target mode before proceeding.
Good luck! -

I'm trying to prepare our school system for Windows 7 (we currently use XP). I would like to use the new Group Policy Preferences method of deploying printers. I pushed out the XP client side extensions through WSUS. In my test environment, I added the shared printer in group policy preferences. My XP machine had the printers show up automatically, but my Windows 7 machine did not. I realized that I had previously connected a printer of the same type to my XP machine before and the drivers were already installed. To test this theory, I manually connected the shared printers to the Windows 7 machine, deleted them, then logged off and back on. Now the printers are showing up from group policy. My question is does using group policy preferences to deploy printers require the print driver to be pre-installed? If not, then what am I doing wrong? If so, is there a way to work around this? Thanks for your help.
EDIT: To clarify, I am using the share method in GPP. This is the error message I get in the event log:
The user 'PRINTERNAME' preference item in the 'win7 printer test {946461A1-27F8-406F-A0B3-0A1A05AF34F6}' Group Policy object did not apply because it failed with error code '0x80070bcb The specified printer driver was not found on the system and needs to be downloaded.' This error was suppressed. This link have a description of resolution:

Open the GPMC.
Open the GPO where the printer connections are deployed, and navigate to Computer Configuration, Policies, Administrative Templates, Control
Panel, and thenPrinters.
Note
The Point and Print Restrictions setting can also be found under User Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Printers.
This policy is ignored by Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, but is enforced by earlier editions of Windows including Windows XP with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, and Windows Server 2008. We recommend that you change
this policy setting in both locations so that all down-level clients have a consistent experience.
Right-click Point and Print Restrictions, and then click Properties.
Click Enabled.
Clear the following check boxes:
Users can only point and print to these servers
Users can only point and print to machines in their forest
In the When installing drivers for a new connection box, select Do not show warning or elevation prompt.
Scroll down, and in the When updating drivers for an existing connection box, select Show warning only.
Click OK. -
I purchased a Nokia 3710 fold January this year , with firmware version 3.80 Nokia sent a text saying there's an update to 4.30. After doing the backup to ovi and my mistake thinking it had backed up I updated to 4.30 big mistake it has lost all the Pre-installed files and no factory reset works. Even the photo's function not working yes you can take a photo and you see the thumbnail but when you open it up it says no photo's available I said all Pre-installed files are missing themes, tones, world clock, calculator, I have been in touch with Nokia and no reply from them as yet so my advice is don't purchase a 3710 or if you have one don't update the firmware FG
Solved!
Go to Solution.noneoftheabove wrote:
I just received my brand new 3710 fold. Based on your experience, should I update it to the latest firmware? It's working fine so I guess I don't really need to upgrade, especially if I'll risk to break it by doing so.
Well, it's good to update your phone when a new firmware version is available for it. But i think that there's no reason to do it if the phone works fine...

My MacBook Pro came with Lion pre-installed so I can't re-download it from the app store. Is it possible to get the installESD.dmg file and how can I get it if I can't re-download Lion in Apple Store option?
FYI Mac OS X is not designed to be installed on additional Macs, unless you purchased it from the App Store, in which case you can make as many copies as you wish and install it on as many Macs as you own.
From the Recovery Disk Assistant -
Notes
If the computer shipped with OS X Lion or Mountain Lion, the external recovery drive may only be used with the system that created it.
If the system was upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion purchased from the App Store, the external recovery drive can be used with other similarly-upgraded systems. -
Unable to copy file D018 error on pre-install
Hi,
We're on NW6.5 SP5 with ZFD4.01 IR6. We tried to rollout a series of
lights-out pre-install apps to workstations (NT 4.0 SP6b) on Friday and had
98 out of 262 workstations fail with the following error:
"Unable to copy file [\\unc path\939.fil] [D018]"
Workstations do have RF rights to the unc path where the nal files are
stored (via rights to the container hosting the workstations), and the macro
Source_Path is right, all the usual troubleshooting 'D018' checks are ok.
I've checked the AXT file and the Directory Create command comes before the
File Copy. Weirdly, only some of the workstations failed, and all on the
same file, which goes to c:\program files\blah\blah\blah and is called
_alphapm.exe.
To ensure this ran out ok we temporarily lowered the workstation refresh
frequency to 1 min, and the nal ran to all machines in about 6 minutes.
What could be the cause of only some of the machines failing, and all on the
same file?
Thanks,
Steve LawHi,
I've been troubleshooting this issue and now have Zenworks debug logs, which
I've managed to capture for both a machine that succesfully installed a
pre-install nal and one that failed for the same urn of the same nal. I'm
hoping someone can explain what might be happening. Here's the crucial
portion of the failed nal from zapplib.log:

The log for the successful workstation is below. As per previous posts I
checked that the same Windows file and folder rights exist on both the
workstations, and the existing file that was to be overwritten
(C:\Lamda5\Dlls\CLIENTSTATEMENTS.DLL) was not set to read-only.
The "FindFirstFile Failed to find any file matching blah blah blah" message
suggests that the problem is related more to accessing the source file on
the server (4.fil) than in writing it to the workstation.
This was a test to 10 machines, the report shows that, chronologically, 2
workstations installed it fine and then the ensuing 8 failed. I can't think
of anything that would lock the 4.fil file - as these are reads they
shouldn't actually lock the file anyway. We run McAfee Netshield 4.63, but
it's set to scan inbound files, not outbound reads.
Any suggestions as to why it was able to read the file for one workstation
and not on another? I have had greater success when I've activated "spread
from start time" over a 15 minute period, but still had one failure out of
ten. A tool that logged all file locks would be useful but I can't find
anything.
Thanks,
Steve Law

Where to Get The Windows 7 Home Premium .iso File for Pre installed OEM of Windows
Hi Everyone, Need help here, please..Here is the situation, i want to upgrade my current pre-installed OS (Win 7 x64) Home premium in my laptop HP ENVY 4-1013tx Notebook PC to Windows 10. I'ts fine in the beginning until it shut down because of heat problem. When i try to turn it on, BSOD appeared. I've try to run in safe mode with have no luck, the same BSOD still appeared.I decided to recover it but no OS was detected in recovery mode. I browsed for many forums and they said that my HDD got bad sector so I remove my hdd from the laptop and attached it on my PC and run chkdsk but didn't solve the problem (chkdsk error : an unexpected error occured). So the last thing I've done was to format the HDD and install a clean Windows 10 and can not activate it without the product key. I just want to go back to my Win 7 and want to upgrade it to Win 10 again. Can I get the iso file ? My Product is B4P83PA#AR6 Thank You

How to view pre-installed License file
Hi,
I was told we that 6296 comes with pre-installed 18-port license but I could find any.
There is nothing under installed license. All I can find is 180 days grace period.
Is pre-installed 18-port license viewable via license management?
Thanks,
HarryHi,
No, you cannot view your default license. you can only view additional license as well the grace license (180 days).
you can configure the port normally and the base license should cover up until the certain port number, before start using the grace license.
And the additional Modular also give you another base port license (another 8 port if I'm not mistaken), but you can use it in any port, not only on the module. when you unplug the module, the license is removed, and if the port is greater than the licensed, it will go to the grace license.
Hope it helped.
Thanks,
Pieter -
I would like to replicate the action of JDeveloper compiling and deploying a given process to a remote BPEL PM Server.
When I establish the BPELPM server connection in jdev, I just specify the host/port and I'm prompted for password and domain at deployment time.
How can I replicate this in a build.xml using obant? The server is running on midtier of OAS on an OC4J titled OC4J_BPEL.
My real objective is to deploy to multiple servers in the same script, but need to get one working first.I'd like to use the 'scp' ANT task via obant but it does not seem to be available with the default configuration. I fetched the jsh jar file as instructed by the ANT manual (http://ant.apache.org/manual/OptionalTasks/scp.html).
I'm still not able to use the 'scp' task. Below is the output from obant upon reading the 'scp' task:
Ant could not find the task or a class this task relies upon.
This is common and has a number of causes; the usual
solutions are to read the manual pages then download and
install needed JAR files, or fix the build file:
- You have misspelt 'scp'.
Fix: check your spelling.
- The task needs an external JAR file to execute
and this is not found at the right place in the classpath.
Fix: check the documentation for dependencies.
Fix: declare the task.
- The task is an Ant optional task and the JAR file and/or libraries
implementing the functionality were not found at the time you
yourself built your installation of Ant from the Ant sources.
Fix: Look in the ANT_HOME/lib for the 'ant-' JAR corresponding to the
task and make sure it contains more than merely a META-INF/MANIFEST.MF.
If all it contains is the manifest, then rebuild Ant with the needed
libraries present in ${ant.home}/lib/optional/ , or alternatively,
download a pre-built release version from apache.org
- The build file was written for a later version of Ant
Fix: upgrade to at least the latest release version of Ant
- The task is not an Ant core or optional task
and needs to be declared using <taskdef>.
- You are attempting to use a task defined using
<presetdef> or <macrodef> but have spelt wrong or not
defined it at the point of use
Remember that for JAR files to be visible to Ant tasks implemented
in ANT_HOME/lib, the files must be in the same directory or on the
classpath
Please neither file bug reports on this problem, nor email the
Ant mailing lists, until all of these causes have been explored,
as this is not an Ant bug. -
How do I re-install software that came pre-installed on my mac?
How do I re-install software that came pre-installed on my mac?
I bought my first mac in 2003, in 2004 I bought MS Office: Mac. In 2006 I got another mac, this one (I'm pretty sure but not 100% certain) came with MS Office pre-installed. I'm still using that computer I got in 2006 (writing this message on it right now) and have been having problems with Word and have had no luck with trying to fix it. I recently came across my original installation disk for the version of MS Office I got in 2004. So, when I became frustrated trying to fix Word I just grabbed this old installer and reinstalled office, assuming in that moment that it was the same version I had been using. I got it all installed and working and went to load up my most recent document that I've ben working on and it won't load because it's a docx file. I don't know where else I would have gotten a new version of word, I'm not one for unnecessary updates and updating a word processor is about as unnecessary as it gets. I MUST have had a newer version of word pre-installed on my computer, because any time I've ever tried to open word files from this computer on my older mac the files wouldn't work, so any time I need to do that I either make a PDF or email myself the text.
Anyway, I'm assuming that apple has all my registration info on file and can confirm that I bought the software, can they provide my an installer? My other concern is that this computer was a christmas gift and was purchased by my dad, though I don't know whose name is on any kind of registration that may exist. The problem here is that he died, so I'm concerned that apple won't support my product because the original "owner" is deceased, even though I don't think he ever so much as laid a finger on this computer or even looked at it more than twice after he gave it to me.
What is my best course of action here?I would have to presume the 2006 Mac was used, and came with Office 2008 on it from the seller. Apple has never offered Office as a bundled purchase, and it is not pre-installed with any Mac.
Since you have the disk for Office 2004, the activation key should be on a sticker on the CD/DVD sleeve. As I recall, anyway. I no longer have my 2004 copy to check. If you have the key, it doesn't matter who it originally belonged to. You can still enter it and activate the software.
Once you have that installed, you can install the XML converter for Office 2004. That will allow you to open from all newer Windows and Mac versions of Office. The only things that won't necessarily convert are features that don't exist in Office 2004, and so can't be translated correctly, or at all.
Microsoft is saying Office 2016 for Mac and Windows should be available for the official release sometime either late summer, or early fall. So hold off purchasing a new version if you can. MS offers to reduced upgrade price for Office. You'd pay full price for Office 2011, and then again for Office 2016.
And just to note. Office 2008 and Office 2011 work fine in Snow Leopard. -
TS: Pre-installed Windows 8.1 attempt to install windows 7.
Greeting,
I recently get a Dell laptop with pre-installed Windows 8.1, but I find out there are many compatibility issues on Windows 8.1. So I decided to install Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit into the system without wipe out the windows 8.1. I followed a lot of threads
through the web. I am be able to finally solve the GPT booting stuff and get into the installation page, BUT there is another problem comes up. I cannot find a solution on the internet. The installation cannot be started because there
is not enough required space for the window 7 to be installed.
I have 100 GB partition of free space for the window to installed, so I believe it is the
System Reserved Space that makes the problem. However, I have not find a way to resize it no matter I use the third party tool or not, because it is
GPT Style.
Is there any way that I could install window 7 without wipe out the window 8.1??
I really need to use the windows 7 since most of my software that I use is not compatible with windows 8.1.
Thanks
CKI believe in theory you could install Win7 to a partition this way using an answer file. A problem would be that the OS won't boot if you deploy it using Setup by default. You would have to add a boot entry to the BCD for Win8.1 using BCDEdit, so that you
can have a dual-boot system.
What I would do instead is in Win 8.1 you can burn your recovery media. After doing so, you could do a clean install with Windows 7 and if needed you could reload Windows 8.1 using the recovery DVD. -
