K1 - Chinese characters keyboard input

When typing e-mails on my K-1 tablet, English is the default language.  Does K-1 support Chinese characters input via keyboard?  Thanks.

Within the applications list, touch "Settings" to enter the Settings interface.
Then, choose the Language & Keyboard function and select the language you wish your tablet to be in.
Click the below link to check guide providing more information on the various adjustments you can make to the settings of your tablet.

  • Why the user experience on Bluetooth keyboard of iPad is different on keyboard of MacBook, especially when typing Chinese characters?

I am a Chinese in Taiwan, and I use a input method call "Changjei" (倉頡) to input chinese character. And thank for  "Yahoo Kimo Input Method" found in Macbook Pro, so that I can use this method  as same as typing in Windows PC. When I use bluetooth keyboard connect to iPad mini, it has "Changjei" input method also, but the user experience is different than typing in MacBook Pro! I often type the wrong word when typing in iPad, because some words need additional space key to avoid selection ( when selection appear usually need additional number key for selection ). Usually every chinese character only need one space key for confirm, and in iPad, some Chinese characters need two space key(this will cause problem), and others need one as usual. It slow me down greatly, and is not a smoothly and freely experience when expressing my idea by typing in iPad, and I often distract by these misleading situation when typing.

  • Cannot Input and Display Chinese Characters by using ODBC Applications

    Dear all,
I am trying to input the Simplified Chinese Characters in the Oracle Database Ver 9.2 running on a UNIX AIX server. The client application we are using is th MS Access 2003 running on a MS Windows XP English version SP 2 without multi-language pack. MS Office 2003 is also an English version.
    Database setting is:
    NLS_CHARACTERSET=US7ASCII
    NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET=AL16UTF16
The Oracle Client used is also ver 9.2 with the ODBC driver ver 9.2. I have tried the following NLS_LANG settings by chaging the registry without any NLS_LANG environment settings:
    AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHT16MSWIN950
    AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHS16GBK
    AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHT16HKSCS
    AMERICAN_AMERICA.AL32UTF8
I have tied to load some Chinese Characters in by sqlload and by using the NLS_LANG AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHT16MSWIN950, AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHS16GBK and AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHT16HKSCS, they can be display perfectly in SQLPLUS. But when using the same NLS_LANGs and display in the ACCESS, only ???? are displayed.
When I tried to insert Chinese in ACCESS, the character changed to ???? again. No matter what Chinese characters I inserted by MS ACCESS, the ???? code can be dump with the binary code "03, 0f".
Are there any methods or settings I need to change to make ACCESS an application for inserting and displaying Chinese characters from the Oracle database?
I have tried to set the Non-Unicode setting in the Windows Locale setting:
    Chinese (Taiwan) (With AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHT16MSWIN950),
Chinese (Hong Kong S.A.R) (with AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHT16HKSCS) and
    Chinese (PRC) (with AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHS16GBK)
when inserting the Chinese Characters by Access. But they all failed with ???? inserted in the DB.
Please kindly advise what should be done.
    Thanks.

Are you trying to store the character data in char/varchar2 columns?
If that's the case then you have a problem, since a US7ASCII character set can only handle, well, ascii data.
If you are trying to store the data in columns of nchar datatypes, then there might be a problem with literals because literals are converted to database character set first, before conversion to national (nchar) character set. Such data loss can also happen depending on how binds or oci calls are performed.
You could use the dump() function to verify what's actually stored in a database column, without a db - client conversion happening that may distort the facts.
    Example:
    SQL> select col, dump(col, 1016) from table where some_condition;

  • Bold 9700 V5.0.0.593 Read/Input Chinese Characters?

    Hi
I used to be able to read and input chinese character on my Bold 9700.
Few days ago, I connected my device to the desktop manager and it prompted me to update my device os to V5.0.0.593 (Bundle 1022, Platform 5.1.0.147). Ever since then, I am unable to read or input chinese characters.
I've read through the forum, did whichever I can find, and crashed my blackberry a few times as I think I loaded some 3rd party modules. I managed to wipe out the whole device and reload EastAsia pack (which I did at least 3 times) but am still unable to have my chinese characters on.
Pls advice what else I can do.
    Thanks!

By the way, it does not have the 'Simplified and Traditional Characters and Font Support' under the Application Loader...

you are correct. Every single BlackBerry Playbook sold in the world lacks Chinese input.
The search box on top-right of this page is your true friend, and the public Knowledge Base too:

  • Keyboard input stops after a few characters

Suddenly, I cannot use Firefox 8.0.1. Keyboard input fails after a few characters. Sometimes (but not always), mouse input fails as well. The only button that works when this happens is the "X" (close program) button in the top right corner of the window.
The only things I changed recently were adding FlashGot and Windows Media Player plugins. Firefox worked after each installation and continued to work for at least a couple of days.
Did a complete removal including personal settings, clean installed 8.0.1 without any personal settings, but the problem persists.
I have no other keyboard or mouse input problems with any other browser or programme. (I am submitting this on Chrome browser, and everything is fine.)

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Chinese characters in form input

FormsCentral appears to permit me to enter Chinese characters into the form template itself.
It seems to permit only Latin characters to respond to the form.
Is that a limitation of FormsCentral, or is it a function of the language for which the browser or computer are set?
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Just wanted to post a quick update. We just expanded our language to support 12 new languages. You can read more here.
We support Japanese, but we don't officially support Chinese/Korean though they should work in most cases.

  • Input Simplified Chinese Characters into Microsoft Powerpoint

    Please help!
What's the easiest way to put Simplified Chinese Characters into Microsoft Powerpoint???
I have a mandarin project due like in a week, and I've been trying to find out how to do this on a mac. I've tried the international thing on preferences, but it doesn't work very well, and doesn't even work on powerpoint. Any help would be awesome!!!!
    Cheers!

the characters turn out as wierd symbols
You should really have no problem with Office 2004. You might make sure you have the MS Chinese Fonts selected for your text field (SimSun.ttf and PMingLiU.ttf. They appear in the Font menu as 宋体 and 新細明體.)
Send me a screenshot if you like (tom at bluesky dot org).
If problems continue, you can ask in the Chinese-Mac group:

  • Typing chinese characters on 9iJeveloper JSP

    Hi,
I have a jsp with UTF-8 encoding, and my 9iJdeveloper project complier setting
is marked as UTF-8 as well. But i need to display chinese characters on the jsp.
I can type in the characters but when building project, 9iJdeveloper display java
malformed error. Does Anyone meet this problem before?
    rgds,
    joe

I'm referring the Keyboard dock, not the built-in keyboard on iPad.
You still need to use the Settings to select the Chinese keyboard layout. There is a separate section for hardware keyboards, where you can further choose us, french, german (depending on whether your physical keyboard is qwerty, azerty, or qwertz).
Are you having some problem after doing that? Are you familiar with how normal pinyin input works?

  • Chinese 10 key input

I heard that  iPhone users who purchased their devices in china and Hong Kong have received a very nice Chinese input enhancement -- the ten key pinyin input method. It is really painful typing Chinese characters with a 26 key keyboard  on the iPhone due to its small screen size and the lack of adequate input correction features.  Apple May have not noticed that there are many Chinese users overseas who would like to have that feature very much. I am shocked Apple restricted this feature to Chinese and Hong Kong iPhones only. It is really not the Apple way to do this. And Apple would definitely  make their loyal customers disappointed due to this erroneous, if not evil, decision. I am a Verizon customer so even if I bought an iPhone in China or Hong Kong I would not be able to use it on my carrier. Please be good and make this feature available on all iPhones, no matter what the purchase country is.

I too am very dissapointed of Apple's such decision. I am a Chinese speaker based in Canada and despite that I like iDevices a lot, I've been tortured by the English keyboard when typing Chinese on my iPhone. I'm not even half fast as when I used my Nokia 6630 10 years ago. I have written a feedback on the above link. I hope that it's an error. But it's possible that Apple do this on purpose... if so that'd be even more dissapointing.
I really hope more people would talk about this so Apple could hear our voice...
