K1 Wireless Makes Siemens Gigaset SE587 Router in Range of the Wireless Signal Reboot Continuously

My K1 crashes my Siemens Gigaset SE587 Router as soon as I turn the wireless on,  and the router keeps rebooting as long as the wireless on the K1 is turned on,  even if it is connected to a different access point.   It crashes the neighbors routers as well -- any SE587 within range of the K1's wireless signal.

from your post it's not clear so can you confirm that your box if conencted to the phone line has a filter?
you can try downloading inssider3 (istumbler if MAC) and then run it. This will show the broadcasting networks round about you and their channels including your own. If you then enter your router and change your wireless channel to a free or less congested channel.
check the driver for wireless card in laptop is up to date - check manufacturer's website not windows update
you can also try changing wireless in hub fromdefault b/g/n to just b/g unless all your wireless devices are 'n' rated

Have a 802.11n time capsule, the range of the wireless network has shrunk down to nothing over last few days. Used to be able to use wireless network anywhere in house, but now can only use in my office. Will not connect to iphones, ipad, itouch, or notebook. Worked fine last week, but over weekend just started having issues.

It is very possible that you may have some form of Wi-Fi interference that has appeared recently that is preventing your Time Capsule (TC) from providing a clean RF signal.
I suggest you perform a simple site survey, using utilities like iStumbler, or AirRadar to determine potential areas of interference, and then, try to either eliminate or significantly reduce them where possible. Look for other Wi-Fis that may be operating nearby. Note those with the strongest signals and which channels they are operating on ... then change the channel used by the TC to be at least 3-5 channels away.

  • Issues with Macbook pro and siemens gigaset se587

    Hello!
    Wondering if anyone can help me with this issue;
Bought my macbook pro about a year ago as a refurb off the apple site, everything works fine with it up until about a month ago, when the wireless internet kept dropping out and required me to type the passcode back in to gain access (I thought this was wierd as it is supposed to remember this info).
The next stage of this was the router disapeared completely off my airport list, after navigating through the forum pages I found that broadcasting on a different channel usually works, it was on 13 I dropped it down a couple and we had wireless internet once again.
As of recent, my router seems to of randomly reset itself after speaking with TalkTalk we got it back and running... but only on the PC. The element that had changed on the setup was (I may get this wrong) the router was pppoe and not pppoa (im not clued up on wireless networks an lingo, but I hope it provides some insight as to what happend).
The problem now is my macbook can see the router but the passcode (from the bottom of the router) does not work, everytime I type it in I get 'connection timed out' and it only works with a wired connection.
I hope I have provided enough info for you guys to help me out. I will be very appreciative of any insight you can offer.
    Thanks in advance
    Tom Hall

    Concerning this comment:
I know that neither the adapter nor the VGA cable have a problem since I connected the computer to my 1080p TV and it worked just fine...
I would like to point out that 1080p has a lower pixel clock than will 1920 x 1200. So it could be the stability problem is only present when the pixel clock is at the high end of the range.
You could return the adapter and try another. A new one might have better margins. Another thing you could try is to use a utility like SwitchResX to lower the pixel clock and see if stability improves.

  • IQ506-Loose wireless contact with Belkin N1 Router, unless I have my wireless notebook sitting

next to the Touchsmart. Laptop has a SD card in it.
Was wondering if I should get a USB adapter to enhance the signal?  Or if there is someway I can adjust the system.  The laptop, gets a great signal strength, 5 out of 5 bars.  The Touchsmart 2 or 3 out of 5.
    Thanks for suggestions.
    Mark

Have you updated the wireless card drivers??  HP has had many internally wired USB WLAN adapters show very weak signal due to a driver issue.  They have corrected these issues in most driver updates.  Make sure HP Update shows you are up to date.  I'm not sure which adapter the IQ506 uses, but this should be the first step.  If the driver is up to date, and you are still having signal issues, try changing the router's channel. 2,4 or 8 are usually best.  Some cards fend off WLAN interference better than others, so make sure you are on a clean channel.

  • I have an airport extreme and am trying to extend the range of the wireless network with an airport express.  I set it up with the help of apple support, both lights are green on both airports, but the range didn't change.  What could be wrong?

I am trying to extend the range of my wireless network by adding an airport express to an airport extreme.  I configured it with the help of apple support, but it hasn't changed the range that I can access the internet wirelessly in my house.  What could be the problem?  Does weather affect the wireless network??

So, on the Extreme you checked the box to "allow this network to be extened" ?
    Correct?
And on the Express, you set it up to "Extend a wireless network" ?
    Correct?
See this Apple article and see if you missed anything...

    Configuring a wireless extended network
To create a wireless extended network, you must place any extended Wi-Fi base stations within range of the primary Wi-Fi base station.
Start with the device that will be configured as the primary Wi-Fi base station.  Then configure your extended Wi-Fi base stations, ensuring that each is within direct range of the primary Wi-Fi base station. The physical location of extended Wi-Fi base stations will vary according to the building environment and may require some experimentation.
If you have configured your Wi-Fi base stations in the past, it may be helpful to do a factory default reset of each Wi-Fi base station that will be part of the wireless extended network before you begin.

  • Why does wireless on my Time Capsule (2TB, 3rd Gen) drop the wireless network now?

Starting a couple of weeks ago, my Apple Time Capsule (2TB, 3rd Gen) has been dropping the wireless network almost daily.  I end up pulling the power cord to restart it.  I've had the device for what I think has to be about a year and a half already, and it's been working flawlessly until now.  I have it on 802.11N (dual-band), using WPA2, with an average of about 7-8 client devices at any one time throughout our home.  The problem doesn't appear to be any one client, since all lose connectivity at the very same time.  The Time Capsule LED is still green when it's down, and again restarting it solves the problem.  The device is out in a well ventilated area, and doesn't feel like its overheating.  Devices using Ethernet to connect are unaffected (other than losing visibility to wireless network elements).  It can occurn at any time, day or night, seemingly at random.  The Airport Utilty advises that I have the latest firmware version (7.5.2).
Anyone have any idea whats going on?  Having similar problems?  Fix, workaround, suggestion?

Try setting the wireless to manual and fixed channels.. the auto channel swapping does cause issues.. I would also give different names to 2.4ghz and 5ghz so you know clearly which wireless you are connected to.
But sometimes they do just go bad.. power supply is not robust. They do become unreliable.

  • I have bought a TC to extend the range of the wireless network in the house and would like someone to explain the best way to do this? My combine router/modem is supplied by Movistar(in Spain) model Xavi 7958 router ADSL with four ethernet ports.

What is the best way to extend my wireless network in the house using a TC? I currently use a combined router/modem supplied by Movistar(live in Spain) model XAVI 7958 router ADSL with four ethernet ports. What is the best configuration and can you explain what is meant by bridging and which is best to bridge for signal strenght TC or Xavi modem/router? Have ipads, iphones, apple tv...etc and want a connection them all in the whole house which, not just downstairs, to our wireless network.

You cannot wireless bridge Apple to non-apple router.. so that is out.
The only way you can do this is run ethernet or EOP adapters.. and place the TC in a location where the other apple idevices can reach it.
If you want to repeat wireless with apple routers you have to use another apple router next to the modem.. plugged in an running as an AP.
Basically the TC is the wrong piece of equipment unless you want Time Machine backups.. take it back and buy a universal repeater.. not apple. Or buy more apple stuff like an extreme or express.. one apple router is useless to you without running ethernet.

  • Seimens Gigaset SE587 4 port Wireless Router - Does it work?

Hello. The above router is supplied by Tiscali in the UK for those who want to have access by wire, such as myself with an eMac, and a wireless connection when using laptops.
I've tried everything to get it to work including the setup instructions provided by Tiscali.
The instruction manual of which has references to Mackintosh and implies it will work.
The set up disc sent by Tiscali does not run on Apples. Hoever Tiscali support have sent me the following in order to set the router up. I have followed all this and the router still won't connect -
    Tiscali Support:-
+I understand from your email that you are experiencing issue with SE 587 router.+
+In this case, I request you to please manually install the SE 587 router with following steps.+
+Manual Installation for Siemens Gigaset SE587+
+1) First Swith on the router and enter the Default gateway for Siemens Gigaset SE587 which is 192.168.1.1 in Internet Explorer's address bar.+
+Log in with the user name and password as admin.+
+2) Click on Setup Tab than Basic Setup on left hand side. Update the details as shown below. And click on save settings.+
    +--- Use - Tiscali data PPPoA Interface+
    +--- PVC Selection - Tiscali data PPPoA+
    +--- Authentication - Auto+
    +--- User Name - Tiscali u/n+
    +--- Password - Tiscali password+
+--- PPPoA Connection Mode- Always On+
    +--- NAT - ON+
+3) Now I request you to check the status of Online light - which should be green.Alternatively click on status (On top) to check internet status to confirm connection.+
After this the router status shows as 'On' when accessed via the router admin menu. However the light on the actual box remains off.
Has anyone got one of these routers and got it to work?
Surely I can't be the only Apple user in the UK whom Tiscali has sent one to!

    Hi Doverrog,
Right, well I recently got Tiscali at home and they sent me the same router. I got it set up on my Mac fairly easily and the network is shared with PCs (though I did the set up on the Mac).
I'm pretty sure I got a generic set up sheet as well as the CD which described how to set up the router using a browser. Anyway, I've done it a few times before so it didn't take me long to get it all set up. Looking at the email that Tiscali sent you (as you put in your first post), it seems they gave you the wrong info. Not surprising, unfortunately.
Log in to the router, as they described (use browser, enter http://192.168.1.1 and use the username and password admin and admin (if you haven't changed these already - but really it's one of the first things you should do) ).
Once logged in, in the top line of links click on Setup. This will take you to the basic set up page for the internet.
In the main frame where all the settings are, at the top is "Use" - as they said, it should be set to "Tiscali - data PPPoA".
Below that is PVC Selection. This should be set to "Tiscali data IPoEoA", not PPPoA as they said. On my router, the rest of that page is then greyed out.
Using this method, I haven't had to enter my account details either - but I'm connected, so it seems to work!
I suggest you give it a try and see whether that helps.
Regarding the lights; the router is downstairs, I'm upstairs so I can't check for sure now (and have only had the thing a week so don't know from memory) but we're connected and the thing is lit up like a Christmas tree, so you should have some lights on on the box as well.
For what it's worth, I've had a fair few different problems with the router and have had enough already. I'm digging my 3 year old Linksys out this week as, in spite of its age (and thus unreliability) I feel it's still a better box than this Siemens...
Edit: By the way, I can access and modify the router via Safari as well (just double checked, though I normally use Firefox) so it's definitely not an Apple issue.

I think there is a profile saved on your wireless computer.
What is the operating system on your computer ?
Delete the profile on your wireless computer. I think you are using the intel wireless adapter on that computer.
Open the Intel wireless adapter utility. There you will find the profiles saved on your computer. Delete the wireless network profile that you are trying to connect.
Now open the setup page of the wireles router. Go to the wireless tab. Check the wireless network name. Click on wireless security tab and check the wireless security settings. Make sure that you have the correct network key/password.
Now try to connect to the wireless network again.
If it is windows XP operating system then you can also connect to the wireless network using the windows wireless network utility.

  • Is there a way to turn the wireless capabilities off on an AirPort Express?  I have an AirPort Extreme as my main router and use the express to just extend it. I only really want to you use the express for hard ethernet connections

Is there a way to turn the wireless capabilities off on an AirPort Express?  I have an AirPort Extreme as my main router and use the express to just extend it. I only really want to you use the express for hard ethernet connections. For whatever reason when I have my express extend my wifi at home the download speed from just the express is absolutely terrible, drops to about 1.5 mb compared to when it's on the extremes part of the network the speed goes up to 50-75mb. These terrible download speed really only affects the iPhones as my MacBook Pro usually gets the good speed no matter where it is. I don't believe there is anything wrong with my phone because if I am in the part of the house that uses just the extreme the download speeds on the iphone goes up to 50-75mb. As a note I have an AirPort Extreme on the top floor of my house (second floor) that's where my modem is located. On the first floor that's where one airport express is located. I also have another airport express in the basement that is accessed by my landlord. Any thoughts on how to fix this would be helpful.

Is there a way to turn the wireless capabilities off on an AirPort Express?  I have an AirPort Extreme as my main router and use the express to just extend it. I only really want to you use the express for hard ethernet connections.
It appears that your networking goals with the AirPort Express is to use it as a wireless Ethernet bridge instead of using it to extend the wireless range of your AirPort Extreme. The latter requires that the Express Wi-Fi radios be enabled.
If you intended to use the Express as a wireless bridge, you just need to reconfigure it to "Join a wireless" network instead of "Extend a wireless network."
For whatever reason when I have my express extend my wifi at home the download speed from just the express is absolutely terrible, drops to about 1.5 mb compared to when it's on the extremes part of the network the speed goes up to 50-75mb.
In an extended network, the placement of the extending base station is critical as it can only extend the wireless network at the bandwidth at which it receives it.
Please check out the following AirPort User Tip for details on optimal base station placement.

The green light on the keyboard comes on and continues blinking. What am I missing?

  • Check the wireless status (Tx/Rx SNR) on my iPhone4

How can I check the wireless status (Tx/Rx SNR) on my iPhone4? Is there any internal indicator built-in?

    Hi Kgirl000,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I see that you would like to print wirelessly to your Envy 4500 printer.
When using the Wireless Direct network, you need to connect the devices to the network the printer is broadcasting to be able to print. I have included the description of what HP Wireless Direct is from the
    HP’s Wireless Printing Center.
HP wireless direct is a new feature that allows your Wi-Fi capable devices (for example: smart phones, tablets, or computers) to make a wireless network connection directly to your printer without using a wireless router or access point. You connect to your printer’s HP wireless direct signal the same way you connect your Wi-Fi capable device to a new wireless network or hotspot.
I suspect that is not what you are trying to accomplish. Let’s start by connecting your printer to your wireless network. This can be easily accomplished from the front panel of the printer. The steps can be found on page 53 of your User Guide in the section titled “To connect the printer”. You will need to know the name of your wireless network (that is the SSID) and the password to your wireless network.
To switch your laptop from a USB cable connection to a wireless connection I have included the Installing the Printer Software for a Wireless Network Connection document. It has a different section for each of the operating systems. Within each of those sections is the instructions to switch to a wireless connection. Please click on your operating system and follow the instructions.
You should now have no issues printing from your mobile devices when they are connected the same wireless network the printer is connected to.
Please let me know how it goes.

  • Airport TimeCapsule wireless works fine, but iMac can no longer find the time capsule disk for backups.

    Hi,
I have a new Airport TimeCapsule that I set up about two weeks ago in combination with a new iMac running OS 10.9.4.  It ran fine until 2 days ago, when the TC disk image disappeared from the iMac and Time Machine was not able to back up.  I tried to find the TC in Airport Utility and it states the "Airport Time Capsule was previously part of your network. Check that it is still in range of your network and is plugged into a power outlet..."  I've tried restarting the time capsule. I've tried restarting everything in order (modem>TC>iMac) and the iMac still cannot see the TC disk.
I've had two other issues that I will list in case they are all related somehow:
    1) The time capsule took several attempts to set up when I first bought it.  I had to reset the TC several times before I got all the way through the set up process successfully.
    2) I tried hooking up my printer to the USB port on the airport time capsule and although my MacBook could see it and print to it just fine, my iMac was never able to see it.
The TC is hooked up to the iMac via ethernet cable.  Does any of this sound familiar to anyone?  I'm about ready to send the time capsule back and just resurrect my old airport that worked flawlessly for years.  This airport TC has been a huge disappointment so far.
    Thanks

There are some real issues between Mavericks and TC .. (or just network bugginess!!)
There is a heap of things you can do but it is easier to just run through the whole lot in order. None is necessarily the cure and that is why doing all is important.
The list is in this thread.
Airport Utility shows "unexpected error - please try again" when connecting to Time Capsule
In your case using ethernet can be a problem.. let me say please make sure you have ipv6 set to link-local only in your ethernet setup. I usually only show it in wireless but for you it must be ethernet. The wireless connection seems to be utterly required now for connection.. and hidden away into the airport utility is a switch over from wireless to ethernet. When I made the manual setup instructions above this particular ability (or stupidity) of the Airport Utility was not apparent to me.
So here is typical Airport Utility (AU) v6.. but it is actually working over wireless only. (The v5 utility was wireless + ethernet).
I have an ethernet client on the network that is completely invisible.
Click on the Other WiFi Devices (wrongly named.. it should say other devices).
And you will see the option to choose ethernet.
Then the AU sees the ethernet client and none of the wireless clients.. brilliant stuff eh??
PS this is just a test setup.. never would I have any TC with such an illegal name.. But I hope it shows you what to do.
Fix the names.. most important.. keep them short.. less than 10 characters all the better.

  • Can I have my Time Capsule wifi and my Verizon router wifi on at the same time?

I want to have my verizon wifi on at the same time as my time capsules wifi but I don't know if it interfere.  There's an app that you can use as a remote for your cable box but you need to be on your routers wifi.
    Thanks,
    Zach

Suggest that you run a few speed checks on both wireless networks with a computer in same room as the wireless router using a site like www.speedtest.net on your browser.
If you are getting close to your plan speeds, then you likely do not have interference issues.
Most routers will scan to find the best available channel to use, so assuming that your equipment is working OK, things should be OK. Try to keep the Verizon router and Time Capsule at least 6-8 feet, or a few meters from each other.
This assumes that you are not living in a crowded situation like an apartment complex, where intereference is pretty much a fact of life due to the very limited number of wireless channels that are available.
