K3 note SAR value is dangerous or not
Sir i am from india .and i heardd that Lenovo k3 note radiation level is so high so its really major problem with 24/hours using the phone. I am really scary because in my house many children are playing with my phone .. So just tell me the trueth my phone SAR value is head SAR 1.590w/kg and body SAR 0.688 w/kg and I think 1.6 is limited right
when too many rumours spreading over why not lenovo responding at all??????

Nokia N8 reduce lower SAR value
Hi, I have noticed that nokia N8 has high SAR value of 1.02 W/kg when Samsung Galaxy 2 has SAR of 0.35 !
I did have not found any posts about bad reception quality on samsung, so why nokia choose so high SAR value??? My old N6680 has SAR of 0.64 and thats a phone I can use anywhere, elevators, bad receptions areas you name it.
So my quations is this:
How can I reduce - lower the SAR value of nokia N8 with service application or plugin whatever.
The Service manual for N8 uses software to test the transmitter with various levels of power settigns, so there should be a way to set lower power, that will increase battery life and you probably know WHO anounced that microwaves are cancerogenic don't you?
Attachments:
Nokia N8 reduce lower SAR.gif 53 KBIt is not quite as simple as that.
Phones always have to be below a particular SAR value, and depending on which part of the world you are in it is typically 2. That is already a very low level, so when you are comparing figures like 0.35 and 1.02 you are comparing two very small numbers below another small number that is already a threshold many times below which any harm would be caused.
You also should know that the figure quoted is the maximum for a range of different tests and conditions including against the head, body and hand and different channels and voice and data modes, also combined with WiFi etc..
All this means that in a typical situation when you are just making a phone call the SAR value in most phones is below than the figure quoted - although again you are still only comparing two very small numbers....
and the reason why Nokia doesn't allow you to change the power levels is that those are very carefully calibrated to meet the GSM and WCDMA standards otherwise the device would not be certified and allowed for sale, and would most likely not work.... -
Lower SAR values -- More sold BB phones!
Dear community,
Dear BB smartphone antenna developers,
I want to point to the fact that the lowest SAR (specific absorption rate) values for mobile phones have been reached by Samsung over approximately the last 6 years. Samsung Galaxy models have extremly low values of about < 0.4 W/kg. A detailed list of phone models and SAR values can be found on the German website http://handywerte.de/index.php.
Samsung Galaxy phones show a very good voice quality despite the fact that they "irradiate less". Hence, I wonder why Blackberry does not aim at low SAR values, either? There is a great selling potential for Blackberry as there are many customers who chose a phone with regard to the SAR value - and nowadays chose Samsung.
Despite the fact that there is no scientific study that indicates a harmful effect of cell phone radiation on human health, Blackberry could sell much more phones with lower SAR values - threre are still many people out there paying attention to the SAR value.
With kind regards
BBsupporter
Solved!
Go to Solution.Hi BillJ,
you are right, of course, that low SAR values are not the only reason to buy a phone, and, thus, do not automatically equate higher sales rates.
Whether you have found people who are interested in SAR values or not, depends on the target audiance you are talking to: For instance, if you support business customers who have to ensure security and stabilitiy in the communication systems of their company, then the phantastic characteristics of blackberry phones and services (for which I love blackberry, by the way) is the main focus.
However, I am an electrical engineer and have worked in the field of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). When working with EMC, after some time I had to face a citizen's initiative regarding cell phone radiation. I was surprised and realized that there actually are people who think about a possibly harmful effect of cell phone radiation on human health.
As I said, I am an electrical engineer, and there is till today NO scientific proof for any harmful effect of cell phone radiation. But let us look on it from a BB economic selling point of view: There are different reasons for people to buy a cell phone: a good OS, brilliant display, good camera, long lasting battery, comfortable keyboard, stylish body, big memory, brilliant loudspeakers, etc. ... If there are people out there, who wish a low SAR, then let me tell you that there is NOTHING that can be easier achieved than a lower SAR!
For instance, to improve the camera significantly, you will have to use better lenses, a better sensor and maybe the software will have to be adjusted for a better image signal processing (noise suppression). This means significant effort for BlackBerry. As an EMC engineer I can tell you that the effort for changing the SAR is negligible - it requires only slight changes in the antenna design. So, if the effort is practically zero, why not do it?
What is my motivation? I love BlackBerry devices and just want BB to be successful again. It is sad to see that blackberry had so much problems in the past. E.g. I myself think that opening the door for Android in the OS 10 is absolutely necessary and will help to get back customers.
Hence, my post about the SAR was just to suggest how BlackBerry can even better fulfill some specific customer wishes. If the effort in changing the antenna design is practically zero, if there are practically no costs for the changes, and the voice quality can still be excellent (as shown by Samsung's Galaxy devices), then why not reduce the SAR?
Kind regards

Why doesn't Nokia mention Lumia 920s SAR values ?
I bought the new shiny Lumia 920 windows phone. After using it for over a day I noticed that the battery gets drained out too quickly. Also, I noticed that amount of static charge my body gets since I started working with Lumia 920 is quite more than before.
I am concerned about the SAR rating Lumia 920 has in India. What concerned me more was the fact that when I looked into Nokia's website, they didn't publish the SAR rating. I should have checked this before, but why is the SAR rating of Lumia phones not mentioned in Nokia's website ?

No offense but this just seems ridiculous... Why would you get more static in your body beacuse of a phones SAR value? It just seems very far fetched. -
What is the SAR value that I expose when I share my ethernet connection through channel 2? My computer is MacBook Pro Late-2011 13'. I couldn't find any information in user manual unlike IPad's .
Quoting from user manual of Late-2011 13' :
Exposure to Radio Frequency Energy
The radiated output power of the Wi-Fi technology is below the
FCC radio frequency exposure limits. Nevertheless, it is advised to
use the wireless equipment in such a manner that the potential for
human contact during normal operation is minimized.
Quoting from user manual of IPad 2 3G + Wifi http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1571/en_US/ipad_2_att_important_pro duct_info.pdf :
Wi-Fi operation frequencies are the same with Macbook's.
Yes, it is below the exposure limits, but it is not negligible. The value is as high as the most of the mainstream cell-phones. (i.e. 5 GHz band SAR value is 4 times higher than max SAR value of Galaxy Note II [source: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_note_ii_n7100-4854.php] ) .did you read the details of it?
it is usually a legal mumbo jumbo that you agree to so that nokia cannot be sued for anything as other companies do regularly.
youll be ok. if you want to use it, agree. -
Hello everybody, SAR value for nokia 701 has been changed from 0.69w/kg to 1.08w/kg a few months ago. What's the SAR value for nokia 701 for december made models?
All the standard tips for reducing SAR output from phones also apply to this phone. You can find those tips by searching google.
You may also want to check out the latest scientific studies from the last nine months or so, they may give you renewed insight on the topic. -
Does anyone know what the SAR value of iPad Wi-fi is?

Hi
i am planning to check out nokia n79, but the on reading the tech specs, i found it has good high SAR value, 1.40... is it advisable???..1.40 is really a high value...
Help needed....Thanks in advance...In truth, all SAR values of all in production phones have very minimal known effects on man. This was an issue 15 years ago when SAR values were like 10x of what they are now. If you really have an issue with it, use a headset for calls.
If you find my post helpful please click the green star on the left under the avatar. Thanks. -
N8 has a higher SAR value compared with previous m...
N8=1.02
N97=0.66
N96=0.82
N95=0.50The SAR limit stated in the ICNIRP guidelines is 2.0 watts/kilogram (W/kg) averaged over ten grams of tissue.

Hi,
I have found the Apple documentation about the iPhone 5 SAR values here:
http://www.apple.com/legal/rfexposure/iphone5,1/en/
However i have read reports the values were listed as much higher in the FCC documentations.
When i do a search on the FCC website for BCG-E2599A (stamped on the back of my 32GB black AT&T iPhone 5) no results are found.
In fact when i search for other iPhone 5 FCC model ID's no results are found.
Does anyone have a way to lookup these ID's or direct links to the documentation?According to the link provided, there is much variability of SAR values for the head and body. How does one make heads or tails of this? See the greatest SAR value for the head and greatest for the body and assume that is the SAR level for the phone? What if one is on Verizon?
Thanks. -
Why does FMS sets SAR to .mp4 to force 4:3 aspect ratio?
We record .mp4 file from live video stream from Digital Rapids and then process it with ffmpeg.
Live stream has 576x324 resolution (16:9 ratio is assumed).
It is recorded and seems fine, but has SAR value 3:4, which results in DAR equal 4:3.
It is taken into consideration by ffmpeg later on, and we get an oblate picture. That's a problem.
We came to a conclusion that SAR is set based on formula (4:3)/(width/height), so every recorded video has DAR equals 4:3.
Why is that happening? What can we do to have DAR equal to 16:9?I've found a cure for this bug!! As apple support on the phone convinced me this realy was a bug, there is no way to fix it within Imovie, (and no one seems to have a reaction at all ... ), I checked the Apple site for downloads. There I found MovieConverter Studio. A shareware program which can take the simulated 16:9 DV input and make it into a DV input Imovie recognizes as 4:3.
It can do a lot more, but it does solve my problem.

Execute sHello Arjun,
Have you executed any other installation prior this attempt?
It seems there are unfinished installations on this server. If this is the case, run the SWPM to uninstall the unfinished installation. Then, execute the installation once again.
Also, make sure all IPs are corrects in the DND and host files. There were cases in which the IPs were not properly configured, or maybe a typo.

IPhone 4 - Love the new design, BUT worried about the antenna.
I want an iPhone4, it looks great, and has everything I would want. What worries me is the fact that the antenna is on the outside of the phone, all around the edges. I remember that most radiation from cell phones comes from the antenna, where the signal is received. Does this mean the radiation levels on the new iPhone will be much higher since your hand is fully in contact with stainless steel band?
Andy
Message was edited by: Andy KatzI don't think Apple will commit such a grave error in phone design to have a device with the antenna touching someone's ear.
I've looked at the pictures located here http://www.apple.com/iphone/gallery/
Looking at the 2'nd pic, in the lower exterior metal band there is a space that separates the lower metal band from the top metal band. The same size and form corresponds with the location of previous Iphone's antenna allocated space.
This can be double checked by going to FCC's test https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits& RequestTimeout=500&calledFromFrame=N&applicationid=573413&fccid=%27BCG-E2380A%27 and verifying the 11a SAR report file.
At page 27, on the GSM 1900Mhz, having the device parallel and touching the face, the value is 0.73 SAR. Using it in a tilted 15 degrees position (ear touch, lower part about 2 inches away from face), the SAR is 0.30. If the antenna were to be continuous all the way around, the SAR values would not change since the top part is in contact with the ear at all times in both tests.
I hope someone can confirm how the antenna is actually used in the new iPhone, I'm interested too since to me at least, having an antenna emitting so close to the ear means No Buy, antenna away from top = possible buy. -
How to measure disk IO....
Hi there,
my aim is to measure the overall disk-IO of my unix-server to identify a potential hardware bottleneck.
One method is to call "sar -d", then sum up all the disks io.
The other method is to look into v$sysstat and sum up "physical reads" and physical writes" (an multiply by blocksize, divide by time...)
These two values agree very good. Sometimes the "sar"-value is higher - induced by backup (non-DB-IO).
BUT: Sometimes the DB-Value is higher!!!!
Has anybody an idea why the DB seems to make more IO than the disks beneath????
Thanx in advance...Oracle counts a physical I/O everytime it goes out to the O/S for a data block. If the O/S can fill Oracle's request from the cache, then the O/S will not count a physical read.
You can also get a similar effect on the writes. Oracle will count a physical write when it sends the write request to the O/S. However, if the O/S is using buffered writes, it will not count the write until it is written from the buffer.
Both cases can lead to different counts between Oracle and the O/S over the same time period.

Nokia E71 - radiation and some other issue
I've heard that the radiation is quite high for the E71, is that true?
Another problem would be that I've downloaded a software and I have to write a verification code so I can log in but the think is that I can't see the picture with the code, I see only a small picture which is cracked in the middle, is this something to do with java or flash...?All handsets are tested for a Specific Absorption Rate or SAR, this is a measurement of Energy Absorption in Human Tissue.
The highest SAR value under the ICNIRP guidelines for use of the device at the ear is 1.53 W/kg.
This is normally measured when the handset is operating at its strongest power.
The SAR limit stated in the ICNIRP guidelines is 2.0 watts/kilogram (W/kg) averaged over ten grams of tissue.
If you compare this to the N82 which the highest SAR value under the ICNIRP guidelines for use of the device at the ear is 1.35 W/kg.
Which is not that much more.
Anyhow both handsets pass the test or they would not be able to sell the handsets.
http://sar.nokia.com/sar/index.jsp
I wouldn't worry about the Non-Ionising Radiation from your handset, its well within the standards.
