K320 Factory Default Setup Failed at Startup.
Hi there,
I have some questions about K320 IDEACENTRE factory default pre-load setup.
The PC desktop shipped with 1 HDD for 1TB with 2 partitions; C & D drives.
1. I've increased C drive partition disk space from 50GB to 100 GB.
2. And created another hidden partition 100GB for my Acronis Secure Zone.
I run factory default pre-load setup at PC startup, but there was an error message prompted something like “Detect wrong architecture"; the setup failed.
Can someone assist me?
Thank you in advanced.
Kind regards,

Hi,
Assuming this is just a problem with the recovery process, here's an alternative option you could try - if nothing else, it'll help to rule out a Hardware issue and if successful, will give you a working installation of Windows 7.
Before trying the following, make sure you can still read the 25 Character Product Activation key on your Windows COA label ( 5 blocks of 5 alpha/numeric sets ).
An example of a COA Label can be seen Here.
Note: Depending on the Model No. of your Envy notebook, the COA label may be under the removable bottom cover.
You can create an installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the correct Disc Image ( this must be the same version that originally came with your notebook ) from the link below and use an application such as ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly to a blank DVD - a guide on using ImgBurn to write an ISO to a disc is Here. These Images are clean and from a well-respected source, however there are only limited versions available.
Windows-7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit
Use the disc to perform the installation, enter the Windows activation key found on the COA Label when requested and when the installation has completed, use the 'Phone Method' detailed in the link below to activate the OS - this method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who just want a clean installation of Windows 7 without the additional software load normally bundled with OEM installations.
http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/how-to-activate-windows-7-by-phone.aspx
Any additional drivers and software you may need can be found by entering either the full Model No. or Product No. Here.

DP-K

Blank screen after setting back to Factory Default Setup
After setting an HP Pavillion laptop with Windows XP back to the default factory setup, I get nothing but a blank screen after turning the laptop on. The HP screen doesn't appear, there is just a blank screen.
I have also gotten the blank, black screen, after using the Recovery CD's from HP on THREE different computers, please, if anyone knows how to help, HELP. I get nothing, tried hard off, new memory, new hard drives, no battery, battery, new battery, new a/c adapter, etc. Only one is still under warrenty, a HDX-16t, the other two, an HDX 16 and a Pavilion -1135nr

External displays - is there a factory default setup for the PB?
I plugged in my 32inch DVI equipped TV into my PB. Everything was was fine until I decided to play with the settings - I switched the primary monitors around, tried different resolutions etc. And now my TV claims that it's incompatible with the fed signal and my laptop doesn't "see" the mouse so I can't switch resolutions back. Any ideas how to get it to work? I tried to reset the display to factory settings but it didn't help.
Hi, tenant. In addition to a brody's suggestion for resetting the Powerbook's display, you may also need to reset the TV by disconnecting it from everything else, unplugging its AC power cord, and letting it sit that way for a while before reconnnecting things. Or there may be some other reset procedure described in the TV set's manual.

Software included in "factory default"
Hi, I just purchased a c655 from someone on eBay and so far it's been a great laptop. The system does still have him listed as the original administrator so I was thinking of restoring the computer to the factory default and start over fresh. Where can I find what is actually included as default software? For example, MS Office 2010 is loaded and I would prefer not losing this if I restore.
Thanks
KenWe need your full model name/number, there's a Toshiba label on the bottom of your computer. If yours is not a USA model we also need its part number from said label.
Unless Office 2010 came pre-loaded on your original out-of-the-box setup, you're going to lose it in the Toshiba recovery. But, you can probably still obtain the Office 2010 product key used in your system before doing the recovery.
Key Finder Programs
But, unless the same Office 2010 version (Student, Professional, etc) is preinstalled on factory default setup, you're probably going to need a set of disks to install it.

E-Mail Setup fails to launch on Nokia X6
Hello folks,
On my Nokia X6, when I try to configure an email account using Nokia Messaging, Email setup fails to launch.
I tried configuring from "Messaging" and here after configuring, when I click on "Connect", it doesn't connect.
If I select Settings for an already created mailbox, from "Messaging" --> Options --> Email Setup --> Mailbox --> Google --> Settings, I get the following message "Messaging: Feature not supported".
Please help. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Solved!
Go to Solution.I myself found the resolution found on other discussion threads,
Do one of the following ( 2nd Option worked for me, Remember to take backup before going with the 2nd option as it erases all contacts)
Try resetting the phone here is codes back up data
start from top and work down
1. *#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default ( you will not lose any data)
Make sure you back up your data as you will lose all of it when you perform option 2 or 3 on this list. The default code for all operations listed here is 12345
2. *#7370# - Reformat your phone
3. This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working. If the phone is not showing any activity, proceed with hard formatting , turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button. (the default code is 12345)
hard reset - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. once you feel the phone power up you can let go off the power button while still holding all three buttons ( for Nokia 5800XM - use the following buttons to do a hard reset, GREEN/RED/CAMERA keys pressed all at once on power up. this will only work on 5800's that have firmware version 20... and up. ) -
3rd party install Vista over XP, Return to factory default?
3rd party installed Vista over XP on a T60. Is there a way to return to factory default through ThinkVantage? Tried holding down ThinkVantage button at startup, but only gets me into Bios, no thinkvantage software. Ideas?
1. Make sure your Recovery Partition is still alive. This can be checked through Disk Management. If the partition is still alive, make it active and reboot. You can now get to ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery
2. If it fails, you need the Product Recovery Media. If you don't have one, you will need to get one form Lenovo Support. -
Need help accessing the factory default restore disk - Ideapad b5609
I am working on a friends PC. It will not start up in normal mode but will start in safe mode. This PC has Windows 7 64 bit installed.
I don't know whjat he did to this except I used Malwarebytes to remove some malware. After I removed the malware, the PC would not boot in safe mode, but would get stuck at classpnp.sys. I searched for a solution for this and the only thing I could get to work was renaming classpnp.sys to classpnp.old. This allowed the PC to boot in safe mode again but this needs to get fixed.
What I wanted to do was access the factory default restore disk, back it up to USB ( No dvd's) if possible and reinstall a fresh copy of the system. - But I don't even know if this laptop has a factory restore disk, Is there one?
The PC owner says he didn't get a dvd when he bought the PC. This person was born without arms and is not too PC literate. He uses the PC for e-mail and going to porn sites. It's possible he did have a dvd for the PC if it came with one but he just doesn't remember or even knew what it is.
I do see a Backup and Repair app in the start menu / Maintenence folder but It doesn't start from safe mode. One Key Recovery doesn't work either.. I don't know what it does but I was going to look at it to see if it will help fix the PC.
I tried a windows system recovery disk, and it says it cannot fix the problem. My friend told me this PC is over a year old so i assume it's out of warrenty.
Please help, Thank you.
Moderator Note; similar threads mergedI've already removed the malware with malwarebytes and double checked this with the offline version of Defender. The PC is over a year old.. the owner tells me it's not in warrenty. I didn't want to mess up the hidden recovery partition so i installed a fresh copy of windows 7 to C drive. Since I can now boot into C i will try to install and use OneKey recovery to access and reinstall from the hidden partition.
I understand there is an Enginers version of Onekey Recovery I may have to get if i have problems - it's the version of OKR that the OEM's use to set up the partition in the first place.. from my info anyway..
This is the second time tryiong to fix it from a fresh install on C drive. The first time had a Windows.old folder I wanted to try to reinstall stuff from, but on trying to back that up to a external hard drive via USB, the system crashed and said missing master boot record. A StartUp Repair disk ran 6 times could not fix the problem ( same disk I used to install.. told me it didn't find any problems !
Other odd behavior.. when i was copying the windows.old folder, it didn't tell me i had so many files to go.. always sais it had 0 files left to transfer.
I couldn't get the sound drivers to work even after downloading the right ones from lenovo. I even let device manager try to reinstall the drivers from the Realtek folder in the windows.old folder - those should have worked - and the pc told me that the drivers matches and were up to date - however, the error i get told me there is a problem with the drivers and installation would fail when i tried to install from the downloaded exe.
I have been fixing my own systems for over 20 years, i have never seen a system as screwy as this with a fresh install. -
How do I reset an iPad 2 to factory defaults when I can't recall the Restriction passcode?
I have tried all of the suggested reset methods and still cannot reset to factory defaults. Somehow I setup a restrictions passcode that I can't find or remember so I seem to bee stuck.
Does anyone have a solution? The only option is to wipe the device clean and restore it to factory settings.
Follow the instructions in iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137 to restore the device to factory settings.
Once you have setup the device as a new one, you can then sync it back with your iTunes account and all your music, apps, contacts and any other content sync'ed with iTunes will be loaded on the device. Any content that is stored only on the device and not sync'ed with iTunes, like app logins or data, will be lost during this process. Be forewarned that this is a long process and can take a couple of hours or more to complete. This can be painful, but it is necessarily so to prevent users from working around the security settings. After the restore is complete, you can setup a new Restrictions passcode. Make a note of the passcode to avoid this situation in future.

I'm desperately searching for help! My elderly father has a C855-S5190 and after trying the update to Windows 8.1 from the store, the laptop doesn't boot all the way up - kept giving various errors. So, he dropped if off for me to try to fix. I couldn't get around it so I did the restore to factory defaults from the restore disks.
After that all finished, I tried the Toshiba service station and it gave me about 7 updates that I installed. After that, I rebooted and then wanted to see about doing the Windows 8.1 update. Went to Windows Store - it says I need to do Windows Updates. I went to search, and now there's no Windows Update showing anywhere. I checked settings, and everything is empty under there as well. What happened??
If someone could tell me how I can possibly do the Windows Updates. I tried this once before trying the service center, the updates either fail, or they install, then it reboots, can't configure them, and gets stuck in a loop of trying to roll things back. That caused me to have to do another restore to factory defaults - I've had to do it 4 times so far, and I just don't want to get stuck in that loop again. So, I need to know what happened to my Windows Update, how do I get it back, and how the heck do I get this thing updated to 8.1?
I booted a Linux live media before starting and was able to recover the files, etc., he had on it to a USB flash drive since I knew doing the restore would wipe that all out.
Any and all input is GREATLE appreciated!!
DaveHere's the link to the Microsoft page, I had to do this to get Windows Update to run. The Windows 8.1 upgrade would not let me do the upgrade until Windows Update was run, and I kept getting this error. It takes a *long* time for this to straighten out if you've done a factory defaults restore - several reboots, etc..

I recently purchased a used 2nd generation Apple iPad. I was told that the iPad is locked because of Apple ID. I plan on erasing everything on the iPad and setting it back to factory defaults. Can I now use my personal Apple ID via my iMac to start it as it originally came from Apple??
It is a brick! But I did somehow get into the iPhoto section and was able to find the Former owner that owned the iPad and was able to contact him VIA FaceTime. on my iMac. He was of little help because he was not the original owner, but he bought the iPad as I did from a huge supplier and i was able to contact that supplier who refused to give out any information about the previous owner. I had the iPad hooked up to my somehowiMac via the USB cable and went through the setup procedure to no avail. Then after pressing the Home button several times it somehow went to the iPhotos that were on the iPad? There were 2 pictures of the owners email address. I then copied them to my iMac and used iPhoto app to enlarge the photos. It worked. So there is a way, just takes time to somewhat hack into Find My iPad?Phone.
Personally, it is not Apple's responsibility to protect customers of their personal DATA. With such a high security application. Then of coarse it is a great idea. Then again it is the responsibility of the former owner to wipe and rest the iPad before reselling it. This being the case like those sold on eBay and elsewhere that are ID Locked should not be allowed to be sold. Personally the ID lock is much like a VIN number of a car. In most states one cannot sell a car without the VIN Numbers. Somewhat the same thing should be true of ID Locks -
Hi,
I am trying to install certificate services on a windows 2008 server (R2 ENT SP1) with a PCIe nCipher HSM module installed on it. The version of nCipher SW is = 11.30. It is a RootCA, and I am trying to use a key that is already stored in the HSM (I
have done this before with a PCI HSM (older HW version)). I select “Use existing private key” and “Select an existing private key on this computer” on the wizard, then i change the CSP to nCipher and click on "search" the key I am looking for
appears and I select that one. I repeat, I have done this before and it works with a PCI HSM module.
The installation is finished before being prompted to insert the operator cards, and it ends with two errors:
<Error>: Active Directory Certificate Services setup failed with the following error: Overlapped I/O operation is in progress. 0x800703e5 (WIN32: 997)
And:
<Error>: Active Directory Certificate Services setup failed with the following error: The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation.

Has anyone experienced this before? Am I missing something here?
Any help will be very appreciated
Thanks in advance

Alejandro Lozano VillanuevaHi, thanks for your support.
I have been playing around a bit with some ncipher commands and found this:
C:\Program Files (x86)\nCipher\nfast\bin>cspcheck.exe
cspcheck: fatal error: File key_mscapi_container-1c44b9424a23f6cddc91e8a065241a0
9aa719e4f (key #1): 0 modules contain the counter (NVRAM file ID 021c44b9424a23f
6cddc91)
cspcheck: information: 2 containers and 2 keys found.
cspcheck: fatal error occurred.
If I perform the same command on the original server (the server with the original kmdata folder and with the running RootCA services):
E:\nfast\bin>cspcheck.exe
cspcheck: information: 2 containers and 2 keys found.
cspcheck: everything seems to be in order.
Strange?
Moreover, when I do a csptest.exe command (also on both servers, i find this)
On the new server:
C:\Program Files (x86)\nCipher\nfast\bin>csptest.exe
nCipher CSP test software
=========================
Found the nCipher domestic CSP named 'nCipher Enhanced Cryptographic Provider'
Provider name: nCipher Enhanced Cryptographic Provider
Version number: 1.48
User key containers:
Container 'csptest.exe' has no stored keys.
Container 'Administrator' has no stored keys.
Machine key containers:
Container '352dd28a-17cb-4c6f-b6e4-bf39bcf75db5' has a 2048-bit signature key.
Container 'ROOTCA' has no stored keys.
Container 'csptest.exe' has no stored keys.
While in the old server:
E:\nfast\bin>csptest.exe
nCipher CSP test software
=========================
Found the nCipher domestic CSP named 'nCipher Enhanced Cryptographic Provider'
Provider name: nCipher Enhanced Cryptographic Provider
Version number: 1.40
User key containers:
Container 'csptest.exe' has no stored keys.
Machine key containers:
Container '352dd28a-17cb-4c6f-b6e4-bf39bcf75db5' has a 2048-bit signature key.
Container 'ROOTCA' has a 2048-bit signature key.
Container 'csptest.exe' has no stored keys.
As you can see, the container called ROOTCA, which is the one that I use during the installation, says it has no stored keys. While on the old server, it says it contains a key. Why is this happening? I dont know, I am copying the complete
key management folder from one server to another and initialize the security world with that folder as I always do, and i dont have any errors during this procedure.
Do you know what could be the cause of this? or how can I fix this? Thanks a lot, best regards.

E4200 reset to factory default problem
due to password loss, I get to reset the E4200 to factory default in order for router re-config.
Aftr pressing the reset buttom for 10sec, the router reset. After then, I could not access the router via browser with 192.168.1.1 at URL entry. My PC IPv4 setup: 192.168.1.11; subnet=255.255.255.0
But, ping 192.168.1.1 from PC was OK without packet loss. So router was restored with 192.168.1.1 and cable connection was OK.
Where should I look into now? After the reset you could not access the router page anymore? Try unplugging the power of the router for 10-15 seconds. Once the power light goes solid, try accessing the router page again. If ever you still can't access it, try using another browser. If no other browser is available, try connecting another computer to the router. Check if you will be able to access the router page using another ocmputer.

Need help resetting the Surface Pro 3 Back to factory Defaults
Hey guys need some help. I have a Surface Pro 3 we were trying to image. No Luck. We have given up for now and tryingto go back to factory defaults. Luckily I made a restore USB before I did anything. Here is the problem:
Somehow we screwd up the UEFI settings and it wont even find the drive. I Keep changing the settings but everytime i go to "Reset Your PC" and repartition drives I get a "Unable to reset your PC. The system Drive cannot be found"
message.
I See no clear way of setting it back to Factory Defaults but here is the Screen BIOS/UEFI screen settings
Trusted Platform Module (TPM) Enabled
(Tried Both No luck)
Secure Boot Control Disabled
(Tried Both No luck)
configure Alternate System Boot Order Network-USB- SSD
(Tried both ways no luck)
Configure External Ports -All ports enabled.Yes you can. From CLI of Mars:
[pnadmin]$ pnreset -h
Usage: pnreset or pnreset option.
Default. With no options pnreset restores the appliance to factory
defaults and purges all configuration and event data (certificate and
fingerprints stored to validate reporting devices, topology settings,
archived logs, and the license key information).
-h Displays this usage information.
-g Removes the Global Controller data from a Local Controller, leaving
the Local Controller-specific data and the Global Controller
communication information untouched. Use this option only after
a Global Controller crash or recovery. In this case, "pnreset -g"
must be executed on every Local Controller that was monitored by
the failed Global Controller.
-s Removes the Global Controller communication information and resets
a Local Controller to standalone mode. It removes the Global Controller
data and connectivity data from the Local Controller as well as the
default Controller zone information. Use this option only after
a failed Delete of the Local Controller entry from the Global Controller
"Local Controller Management" web page.
-o Resets the tnsnames.ora file to factory default. The tnsnames.ora file
is required for the Oracle client to connect to the Oracle server.
-j Resets the web server scheduler depending on Local Controller's
running mode. A restart of web server is enforced.
[pnadmin]$ pnreset
Reset command will erase all data in database and reboot the machine.
Please type YES if you want to proceed:
Hope this helps.
