Hi,
I'm on a fully updated 32b Arch/KDE 4.4.1.
I can't burn a blank DVD (see log below).
The default temp directory of K3b has plenty (6.9 GB) free space.
Please advise.

Seems the base of the problem is the update installation does not change the libraries but the software wants to see them changed. So the user has to go clear out all software that shares the libraries and then install the full version so they are rebuilt properly.

Tons of permission errors after iLife updates....

I always repair permissions before and after any updates..
Before the iLife update I had just one permission error with cups or whatever, I always get that one...
After the iLife update, I am having hundreds of errors every time I repair.. I also had a kernel panic this morning..
I ran FSCK, hundreds of errors.
I've used disk utility to repair disk.. No problems found.
I've used Disk Warrior, No problems found..
Anyone else experience this? Should I try and reapply the standalone installer? I hate to reinstall any software with all these permission errors.

Yes, everything seems to be working fine.. I reapplied the standalone, no longer have hundreds of permission errors, but still have about 50 each time I repair.. The report shows all errors related to front row and iPhoto..
If it's no cause for concern, I won't worry about it..

Spry Error After 2013 Update

This message is popping up on our company website after I updated the software.
MuseJSAssert: Error calling selector function: reference Error: Spry is not defined.
When I check the validator.w3.org it is saying that the errors are being cause from out of date and obsolute. Is there a way to uninstall that update and just got back to the old software package I had so I don't have to redue any of this again?

N97 system error after software update

hello there...
I've recently updated my N97 software to 21.0.045 (the last one)... and right after the update is finished, it gave me "system error" on installing... and now I can't get access to the clock, the calender and others... it even stops responding for a while each time I open sittings... and there is no theme effects when the screen flips to landscape even if it is on... please people, I really need help in that, the clock, alarms and the calender are soooo important for me !!!

"LogonUI.exe-Application Error" error after Windows update at Win10

I get the LogonUI.exe error after the Windows 10 TP setup. Happening on both upgrade case, and also new install case. The Windows 10 TP was ok at the setup beginning, but this error happening after a Windows update and reboot. Now I cannot logon and cannot
go to the safe mode, seems F8 or shift-F8 has no function. I'm using a T440s NB and checked all hardware diagnostics are good.

Just a data point... I've gone through the update (install of KB3002675 and KB3001512) and everything's still working. It's not breaking for everyone.

RV082 IE certificate error after firmware update

Hello.
HELP! I have a RV082 with firmware 2.0.2.01-tm that keeps showing a "There is a problem with this website's security certificate" error message on every computer in the office after I updated to firmware 2.0.2.01-tm (previous version was 2.0.0.19-tm). I'd click on "Continue to this website" and be able to access the router on a few computers, but for our file server. I've tested on computers running XP, 7 & 8 using IE 8, 9, & 10 and there seems to be no pattern as to which ones will allow me to gain access and which ones won't. The file server is running Server 2003.
My questions are:
1. How do I get rid of the "security certificate" error message?
2. How do I get all computers to be able to gain access to the router on the ones that need access, but can't?
3. Why did this message show up after I updated the firmware?

Error after Bios update on VN7-591G

Hello Guys, I update my Bios to latest version which I found in Acer website - v1.13, everything goes smooth, but after the update my laptop boot with following error - "No bootable device''. I found how to bypass this problem - switching from UEFI secure boot to Legacy. And after this everything goes normal, but I want to use UEFI secure boot. Problem here is that when I move back from Legacy to UEFI I receive same error nobootable device and I can't run my OS. Any clue how can I fix this problem ? Thanks in advance,Br YoZone

Yeah, some of the stuff doesn't add up.....but it should be an easy fix. 1.backup all your important files to a different drive so you can retrieve them later (this is very important because you're going to wipe your SSD clean and start over) 2. Grab your windows 8.1 installation media as you'll need it soon 3. go in to your BIOS settings and load administrator defaults. It's F9 on my Acer computer, not sure what it is on yours. And then save and exit (possibly the F10 key) 3.5 go in to bios and enable boot menu and then save and exit 4. Boot your windows installation media 5. after you select your language, click "repair my computer" 6. Navigate in the menu until you find "command prompt" 7. Use diskpart clean (which will wipe your SSD clean) http://forum.crucial.com/t5/The-Cru/Reset-your-SSD-to-factory-settings-Windows-DiskPart/ba-p/162503 After you use the "clean" command as described in link above, type "convert GPT" and hit the enter key.And after you use the "convert GPT" command, type "clean" and then hit the enter key on your keyboard And then exit out of there to get back to your windows installation media drive main menu. 8. Navigate in the windows installation media menu until you find "shutdown", and shutdown your computer 9. Boot to your windows installation media and install windows. Install windows on the entire unallocated space. Do not partition and do not format. The windows installer will partition and format your SSD automatically for you. Can't connect to Netflix: Sudden HDCP error after software update

I have been unable to connect to Netflix after I updated the apple tv software. I have tried the suggested remedies: unplug/replug HDMI cables; swap out HDMI cables; turn apple tv and tv on and off; reset; among others...Worked fine with my TV until the update. What the deuce? Can anyone help?

I am using the same Sharp Aquos LCD TV set and same ATV With the same apple HDMI cable that I have been using for years with sleek functionality and great enjoyment ....
There are two factors though - to consider -
1) the remote has been somewhat sluggish lately
2) The day before all of this happened I had removed the HDMI CABLE From my TV in order to put the Hdmi adaptor that connects through the mini DVI ( I think that is how it is called ) to my 2008 White MacBook. I wanted to watch a French Region DVD.
To my surprise , it did not work , but I thought that maybe the cable has suffered damage and I haven't used it for a long time.
I wonder if the connection in my TV is at fault. that can be checked tonight on another TV.
If that does not work I'll change the battery in the remote
And if none of this works , I'll buy another ATV.
Any success will be posted. but I have a nagging feeling now that my TV might be the cause of all this trouble.

after the update (just update and i guess it firefox 12? i can't see the version because whenever i want to see it the box didn't appear), i can't browse using firefox.

"Unable to load data" error after Windows update

Hi all,
I've been maintaining a LightSwitch desktop app for a couple of years now. The app runs on a server and several client machines access it. Sometime in the last few months, any client that has Windows Update enabled has failed to load data. Instead
it shows red crosses where the data should be and the tooltip, "Unable to load data. Please check your connection and try loading again."
Other clients that don't have updates enabled are fine. Has anyone else run into this issue? Does anyone know how to resolve it?

Shared Library Error after software update

After a software update check, I downloaded all recommendations which were the following: Java for Mac OS X 10.4 Release 5, iTunes 7.1, iPhoto Update 6.0.6, Security Update 2006-008 (PPC) 1.0, and Mac OS X Update (PPC) 10.4.9.
But upon restarting, I get 2 popup windows entitled Application Launch Failure. The first says: The application "(null)" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "5>HP Communications><CarbonLib><CFMPriv_CarbonSound>". The second reads: The application "EEventManager" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "1<EEventManager><CarbonLib><CFMPriv_CarbonSound>". I also get one when I try to launch AOL from the desktop. It also has the string with CarbonSound in it.
I tried reinstalling all of the updates and the Security update didn't work at all - which didn't seem to matter since it was an older version (I think??). I then reinstalled the OS update again, but this time I did the combo version. Still no luck. I looked into CarbonSound, but I haven't found anything current or relevant. Any suggestions? Thank you.

[SOLVED] Pacmanager error after uuid update

I have been using pacmanager for awhile and have had no issues with updates to its dependencies. Today an update to uuid came and I started getting errors when trying to start pacmanager. So I went to the AUR page noticed someone previously had the same issue and they solved by rebuilding the AUR packages that were dependencies. I went through that and did not getting any further in the solving of the problem, also tried rebuilding all the dependencies as well as the main package after they were rebuilt still to no avail. Can anyone shed some light on what I am missing here, I feel like it should be obvious but for some reason is evading me.
Can't locate OSSP/uuid.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/share/pacmanager/lib /usr/share/pacmanager/lib/ex /usr/share/pacmanager/lib/edit /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/share/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib/perl5/core_perl /usr/share/perl5/core_perl .) at /usr/share/pacmanager/lib/PACMain.pm line 39.

So as you see it seems to not being able to find something from uuid. Thanks for any help or smacking me to realize what I am missing here. Also I did verify what it is looking for does not exist on my system.
EDIT:
While trying to still sort this out I have run into something that seems "weird" to me I was looking over the uuid package just a moment ago, and the AUR page stats it was uploaded first today, yet it has been installed on my box before today? I know the package I maintain on AUR actually shows when it was first submitted normally. How could this have been used as a dependency before this but was initially submitted the 8th yesterday? It may be nothing just seems strange to me, also if it was submitted on the 8th its all ready been orphaned.
EDIT2:
Well after lots of tinkering around I cloned the AUR repo to get the -8 version of uuid to see if I could notice what had changed through the update. I noticed that configure was missing the --with-perl call which is why I was missing the file that I was. But the part that I still do not get is how can an unmaintained packaged get updated, and with major changes. It got a new patch and a new PKGBUILD between -8 and -9. I am trying to sort through what the actual differences are with the patches as time permits for me, if I can confidently say why the changes took place I will take over the package as well, but honestly at this point I am at a loss for why the changes that were done took place on the 8th.

Not really sure what is/was up with that. I took over maintaining the package in the AUR though. I fixed it for pacmanager to build the perl parts properly. We will see how it goes.
It is possible though that is what happened is it went from [community] to AUR. Just always thought it was an AUR package to being with, I could be wrong though.
