K410 trouble with Graphics Card

I cecently purchased a PowerColor Radeo HD 7850 2gb graphics card and cannot get it to work with my system.
I have a lenovo K410 I will get more details as to my spesific configuration when I get home from work.
I purchased a power adapter to get power to the card but I am getting no output.  The integrated intel hd graphics turn off as they're suposed to when I have the card attached, but while the fan on the new card spins I am getting no output.  Is the card incompatible with my system?  Do I need to upgrade my power supply? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Also if this card won't work with my system can anyone reccomend a 2gig card that will work with it.  I can find lenovo part numbers on reccomended graphics cards in the manual, but I can't seem to find a way to corispond the lenovo part number to any real world part that I can purhcase.
Thanks for your help!!

  • Troubles with graphic card driver at Equium A60

    Hello everybody,
At first sorry for my bad English.
I have some trouble with the driver of my graphic card. After a new installation I just wanted to install the driver of the ATI Radeon 7000 (I have an Equium A60), after this I had to ascertain that my pc was out of order. The trouble was because the driver, I'm sure, because after a new installation, without the VGA-drive, my notebook is working, somehow.... I mean, I'm sure it could work better if the graphic would have an own driver.
I have been searching on the web and I did see that this was not a new problem; many people have the same trouble with it. Somehow, the pc's own driver is not compatible.
Could anyone help me to find a solution for my problem?
    Thanks a lot,
    Eurytheus

Sorry my friend but your posting sounds really unbelievable. Original Toshiba driver is not compatible with the hardware. It can not be. It can not be the truth!
Your notebook model is almost 4 years old and I presume Toshiba have had enough time to react if display driver is somehow problematic. I recommend you to back up all your data and try to install your notebook using original recovery image. If there is no hardware problem notebook should work well again.
Sorry but I do not see any other solution there because the driver is definitely tested and it must work well.

  • Trouble With graphics Card

Well i have some kind of problem with my t500 its 208959u.  I did not get the computer my uncle did.  I checked the specs and 208959u come with only one graphics card but if its customized i think can come with a switchable card.  When i do a system tests it registers 2 grapics cards.  One is a itel 4500 mhd the other one just says its intel 4 series express.
I can't do anything with the other card it doe not even have driver bios.  I'm hoping this is some kind of graphic driver labeled wrong.  If so how can I find out what the 2nd card really is, so i can use it.  Im hoping its some kind of radeon cause i really one play my games.
My question is how do i find out what cards i really have or how do I make my graphics cards switchable.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

your laptop only has one graphics card, it is the intel 4500 MHD.
The switchable model has the Intel 4500 MHD and the ATI GPU.

  • K9A2 CF-F troubles with graphics card

My specs are in my signature.  This is a new build.  Everything went without a hitch until I tried to install my video card.
I'm getting the following error in the Device Manager: Code 10 "device cannot start"
When I boot up the computer tried to load CCC and then displays an error message like "Ati device no present or drivers are not working properly..."
This is what I've done so far:
    1) Tried a different video card -> same error
    2) Uninstalled and re-installed video card drivers (and different versions) -> same error
    3) Tested PSU with a voltmeter -> same error
    4) Set motherboard to "failsafe" and rebooted -> same error  >:(
    5) Tried it with 1.3 bios and 1.5 bios -> same error
    6) Tried video card in second PCI-e slot -> same error
    7) Tried it with drivers on the install disk and with updated drivers via MSI Update -> take a guess
Here's the kicker: this is my second board.
I RMA'd the last one because of this issue.  NOW, I'm thinking "user error".  I'll gladly eat crow if I could just get my video card to work.
    Help please.

Either you have something creating a short, or there is something else preventing detection of the ATI card, like not seated properly. You do have motherboard drivers installed, I suppose.
How about something from the old school? Put the initial ATI installation CD in. Enter Device Manager, choose to update the driver for the graphics card, and point it to the CD.
Thanks for the feedback but I tried that already.  The driver clearly installs but the error comes up after I try to start CCC.  Also, the display property tags are not present (via 'right click' Properties from desktop) Thing is I get the same error with the 8800GTS (Code 10 device cannot start).  I'm hoping it's a simple OS error that will clear up when I reinstall tonight.
    I'll let you know.

  • Satellite 5100/201: trouble with video card or overheat?

    Hy,
I'm experiencing trouble with video on a Satellite 5100/201. It seems that when I press on the left side above the graphics card or press a key on the keyboard on that side, the screen starts to be scrambled and vertical lines appear. At the end windows XP resets giving a critical error on the device and the video passes to 640x480. Same thing occurs when running Linux Suse 9.0.
My doubt is what is the cause: the graphics card corrupted or overheating due to the fan not as efficient as originally (my laptop is almost two years old. Did someone succed in finding the cause and resolved the problem, also with the Toshiba assistance?
    Any help welcome.

    Hi,
I don't think so that Toshiba has problems with the design. You are talking about two different models with two different hardware and for different user profiles!
The 1900 is a Desktop replacement notebook with "desktop" components like processors and the Satellite 5000 is a Multimedia notebook!
Hint: If you had not done it yet, perhaps you could install the graphic card driver once again. If this don't helps, it is the best way to recover the notebook with the Toshiba CD. (this set the notebook to software default settings and the notebook should be work)

  • Troubles with graphic drivers installation

Hi! I need some help with installation of graphic drivers on pavillion g7-1078sr, win7-x86. After installation of Intel turbo boost technology driver (sp55027, downloaded from here) in device manager, in videoadapters i still see Standart VGA Graphic Adapter(VEN_8086&DEV_0046 = core i3 integrated video) instead of Intel HD. Why drivers are not installed?
And second trouble. Installation of ati graphic driver(sp55025) says that's all is OK, but i can't launch control center and i can't see my graphic card in device list, i see only standart adapters. (.net Framework 4.0 installed)  Here is the screenshot of trouble http://s011.radikal.ru/i317/1206/e3/0de594a696ab.png

    Hi,
Try downloading and installing the following drivers.
First, open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features, right click the Intel Turbo Boost Technology driver and select Uninstall - when this has completed, restart the notebook.
Next, download and reinstall the Chipset driver on the following link.
    Chipset Driver.
After this installation has completed, restart the notebook.
When windows has reloaded, download and install the driver on the link below.
    ATI/Intel Installer.
Again, when this installation has completed, restart the notebook again and check.

First of all, my english is not so good, sorry about that.

Hello Nocar.  I understand you're having some trouble getting your video driver to work properly in Windows 8.
This error means that the device cannot start due to not having the proper driver.  I searched and there does not seem to be an official driver for this hardware.  However, a lot of users have reported success with installing the Windows 7 drivers in compatibility mode.  You should take a look at this thread which a colleague of mine posted.  It covers a possible fix for getting switchable graphics to work in Windows 8.
I hope the thread is helpful.  Let me know the result.
    Have a great afternoon!

  • Hp pavilion 15-p00nx Problem with graphics cards in Windows 8.1

I just bought an Hp pavillion 15-p005nx , as i run any game i have a massage that my graphic card is low , but the graphic card is NVIDA Geforce 840M and Intel HD graphic family but the games see only the intel video card what should i do ?? !!

    Hello @MeZoOo
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
It appears that your trying to play games on your notebook and would like it to run off the Nvidia graphics. I will try to assist with this.
The easiest way to achieve this is by going into Device Manager, clicking the "+" next to display adapters and disabling the Intel. Restart the notebook, this will force the Nvidia adapter to be the primary. This would mean the notebook no longer runs the Intel, which eliminates switchable graphics. If you've bought the notebook to "game" on, then I'd recommend this.
The other option that may work, is using the HP Support Assistant to make sure the drivers are up to date, even though just bought it the drivers installed may not be the newest, this can effect performance.
I hope this is able to help you.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • Problems with graphics card with Windows 8 bootcamp on new imac

I just purchased a new 2013 imac (27inch, with the nvidia geforce gtx 680mx 2gb).
I partitioned the drive using bootcamp and successfully installed windows 8 pro 64bit as well as the support softward from Apple for the drivers.
My problem is that the display in windows says it is being run by a Microsoft basic display adapter and only using 256mb of memory and doesn't seem to be an Nvidia card at all, let alone the 2gb of video memory I am supposed to have.
I have tried downloading drivers directly from Nvidia, but when I run them it says I don't have compatible hardware.
I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this issue.
    Please help.

After I read other discussions on the same topic, I found out that the problem is that when you install the drivers via the Bootcamp "windows support software" USB key, for some reason the NVIDIA drivers are not installed, although they are present in the Bootcamp folder.
How I solved the issue: Starting from the Peripherals Manager window (the one that shows all what is inside your machine), I opened the Graphic card "folder" and double-clicked on the "VGA standard card" line.
Then I clicked on a "install driver" button, browse through files, and selected the NVIDIA folder within the Bootcamp folder on the USB key.
It took some time but after that it had fully recognized the GTX 680 MX card.
I rebooted and the system itself set up to the 2560 x 1440 resolution.

  • Photoshop not working properly with graphics card.

When I start PS, it has given me messages about making sure I have up to date graphics card drivers, which I do. If I enable Open Gl drawing in Photoshop it won't open some documents or crashes. If I disable open GL drawing, it opens the documents, but obviously isn't giving me the display performance I need. I have been running this setup for about 6 months, but have only started having problems this week. I am running Photoshop CS4 and an nvidia GTX 295.
Don't appear to be having any catastrophic graphics card problems (touch wood), as I can still run Crysis! Can anybody help me please?

Thanks for your help guys. It works with open gl using the previous driver. The performance still isn't as good now, but workable. It takes a second to zoom and takes a second to go from looking slightly pixellated to looking smooth. There's also a slight lag on input. Guess I just work with it, till nvidia release another driver that works properly. :/

  • Satellite L755-16J - Trouble with sound card

I currently own a Toshiba *Satellite L755-16J* and it is having some sort of trouble with the sound card, i think.
When i bought it, it came with windows 7, i changed the windows to windows 8 and since then the audio has been troubling me.
The internal speakers work for a minute or two when i play an audio file but then stop working.
i had been using an external usb soundcard and external speakers for some time but decided to switchback to windows 7 for the sound to work properly again. even though i have switched back to win 7, the sound still doesnt work.
I am quite sure that the problem is not in the internal speakers because they do work, although just for a brief moment but they work, so i am guessing the problem is in the software instead of the hardware.
i tried updating the sound drivers but they seem to be up to date, according to windows the drivers "seem to be working properly"
    Can anyone help?

    > even though i have switched back to win 7, the sound still doesnt work.
    How did you do that?
Did you use the Toshiba Recovery Disk in order to install Win 7 or did you install the Win 7 using fresh and clean Windows 7 disk?
The notebook supports Conexant sound chip. The sound driver is available on the Toshiba EU driver page and in case the sound chip is already recognized in device manager after the sound driver installation, I assume the driver has been installed properly.
In such case I would recommend you to connect the headphones.
In case the headphones would function properly, the speakers might be affected. I mean the hardware. But of course its only an idea.
Beside the headphone check, you could check also the settings within the control panel -> sound -> playback tab.
Usually the speakers should be set as default device.
    Check this option too.

  • Oracle support and compatibility with graphics cards

I have been going through 2 weeks of hell getting any kind of meaningful information on Oracle linux 6.2 support for various graphics cards. I started with an ATI FireGl card that would not work with OEL 6.2. I am swapping that out in the seemingly futile hope that I can get an Nvidia GEFORCE 8800 to work. Either I am conducting my search using the wrong verbage(hard to imagine, but possible) or totally incompetant! I am here in one last desperate gamble that SOMEONE has gone through this pain before me. Maybe I am asking too much to be able to install 11GR2 on my server and still be able to use a Gnome desktop. Linux Mint worked perfectly with the ATI card, but alas, I could not install Oracle.
    Thank you in advance
    Dean

From what I understand, the error means that the X Window server cannot find a display attached to your DVI output, which actually means it does not support the DVI port where your display has been attached to. This is a problem of the video driver that simply lacks support for your graphics adapter.
I suggest to start by connecting only one display and verify it is connected to the DVI-1 port of the adapter. Support for DVI-2 requires support by the video driver.
Enterprise Linux should work with graphics adapters that are standard with server hardware sold by HP and Dell. Graphics adapters you can buy over the desk from ATI and NVIDIA are usually designed for the end-user desktop/game market and are all difficult to get fully working under Enterprise Linux. You can check the vendor support page to see if they provide driver support for SUSE and RHEL, but I doubt that it will work with the Oracle Linux UEK kernel. Driver software from these vendors are not open source and require a specific Linux kernel. Alternative drivers exist for http://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/ for NVIDIA, but your success will vary, in particular if you need to support 2 monitors, which is not a typical server system setup.
You might have more luck using a Linux distribution for desktop systems, such as Fedora or Ubuntu. What you are planning to install from Oracle? It is easier to get Oracle Database working on unsupported Linux than trying to hack a video driver to support advanced features on an unsupported operating system. Or try a complete different approach and install Windows and use virtualization, like Oracle VirtualBox to run Oracle Linux out of the box. I would prefer to use virtualization even if my desktop computer would run Linux. There are just too many advantages I would not want to miss anymore.
