K410 Windows 8.1 audio dropping out

When I go into the Realtek manager, it says it's at 16-bit 48000hz, but I need it at 41000hz, because my audio has been dropping out.  However, the menu is greyed out, and the eraser button to the left doesn't do anything.  Could somone help please?

  • Audio drops out of Premiere Pro CC2014

Working on an older Mac Pro running Mavericks, the audio drops out suddenly. It can be from initial launch of a new project, or one in progress while you're in the middle of an edit session. And when I say "drops out", it literally goes entirely away, no output to speakers and no internal metering within Premiere. The only indication that you actually have audio on a clip is the drawn waveforms on the files themselves in the Source window or on the Timeline, plus you know the media that you're working with. I've tried to move the media cache files to a different location, delete them and make the project re-conform audio and indexed files, but the only thing that really works is to shut down completely and let it sit for about 10 mins. Too quick of a re-boot and it comes up the way you shut it down, dysfunctional, and a restart definitely will not work. Any ideas anyone?

    TGlen,
Can I get the specifics of your Mac and any third party hardware that is connected including drives and capture hardware? FAQ: What information should I provide when asking a question on this forum?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • Preview Files Suddenly Go Missing, Render Entire Work Area Crashes Premiere, Audio Drops Out

I opened a Premiere Pro project I was working on earlier today and it said it couldn't find the preview files, searching my system found that the files didn't exist.
Rendering my entire work area brings up the "render window" but nothing happens, if I press cancel Premiere freezes.
Started getting a strange situation error ( 26 ::139 ) in After Effects at the same time that Premiere lost the preview files and the crashes started happening. It disallows me from editing any dynamically linked projects. In Premiere the DL's just show up as "Media Pending" clips indefinitely. Importing the compositions in AE into a new project didn't fix the issue either.
The three problems above started happening all at the same time, was working through a color grade using Red Giant software when it started happening.
Also audio drops out on playback randomly in Premiere Pro, tried various audio drivers and hardware, none entirely eliminate this problem. Sometimes the audio will cut out and "burst in" distorted very loudly, which is disturbing, even when my work area is rendered. This problem has been around since I started using PP CC.
I can provide more info soon or if people want more info pls let me know, I'm very tired and I need to get this issue resolved for tomorrow, in the mean time hopefully someone can point out a general fix for these errors or knows a few workarounds. Tried reinstalling PP and AE, no luck.
Computer is a Windows 7, 64-bit. i7 950, 12gb RAM, GeForce GTX 650, programs installed on a separate internal HDD, media files on another internal HDD. But these same issues (minus the audio dropouts) was also cropping up on a core 2 duo 13'' macbook pro.

    Zach

Hi Arjun, thank you for your help.
Though that didn't work either. At least the timeline will playback but as soon as I try to render my work region or export any video Premiere freezes.
I removed all dynamic linked files as well, that didn't seem to change anything.
Something I noticed -- the render bar on the timeline that is usually yellow for edited clips that have no FX on them is all red, nothing is yellow (or green). This is a 4 minute long edit on a music video, nothing extraordinary.
I tried creating a new project and dragging a few clips in and editing them, everything went normally and I could render and export the clips. Just any rendering done on any version of this music video edit I'm working on crashes the program.
Also recently had a problem where I opened the music video project and the song that I imported (.mp3) all of a sudden has no waveform or sound coming from it. Dragging it back into the project doesn't fix it either. Workaround was using a .wav copy of the song.

  • Audio drop outs and continuing problems- Apple Support informed again.

    Hi All,
Have had various audio problems with iMovie transfer to iDVD 6. iMovie had the problems initially but a weird trick seems to be helping me.
Copy a random new audio track into my film, paste it, then cut it out then empty trash..... all of a sudden my audio is clean again and perfectly in time with the video. I have informed the iMovies people in Ireland and they are at a loss to explain why this is now ok.
BACK to the plot and iDVD 6.
When I try to export this project from iMovie in iDVD 6 it either becomes an audio garbled nightmare or if I try and import into iDVD 6 I get audio that gradually becomes out of sync with the video visual. I know that this project was recorded in 16 bit audio so no joy there.
I've told Apple in Ireland that there are major audio issues with iDVD 6's audio set up + something they were apparently unaware of. I was assured that the tech dept's would investigate and solve. I am really surprised that they hadn't seen this problem in this forum!!
In the meantime any advice is very gratefully received. I'm on an Intel G5 Imac with 1.83ghz 1Gb sdram and 250 GB HD. So Software is currently limited!! I desperately need to get this project to DVD!!!!
    Many thanks,
    GUY

SAME EXACT THING HERE. This is what I posted in a diff thread:
    2013 iMac 1TB Flash Drive
    OS 10.8.5
Constant audio drop outs using Apogee Duet. I have to unplug and replug several times to get the system to recognize it. Sometimes when it is connected, Audio Prefs doesn't even recognize it and it shows up as "Unknown". When I click Audio Prefs before I get in, I get the spinning beachball and it takes a while for it to open. I have been in touch with Apogee but to no avail. It seems to work on my 2013 Macbook Pro, but I haven't tested extensively. It seems to get tripped up if I'm working in Ableton and get a Facetime call or if I try to use Youtube / Soundcloud. The system gets noticebly slower. When I switch back to Ableton, Duet is recognized (sometimes not recognized at all) but I cannot play anything inside the project window.
Not sure what to do at this point

  • My audio drops out randomly, hers is occasionally ...

For the past year I have frequently used Skype on my Android phone (Nexus 5) to talk to my fiancee on her Windows 8.1 laptop. We do so from our respective homes, so we're both on WiFi to a solid Internet connection (DSL in my case, cable Internet in hers). I'm using the latest Android Skype client (5.0.0.55107) and she's using the latest Windows 8.1 Skype client (6.21.0.104). Ever since the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update, my audio keeps dropping on her end for no apparent reason.
This happens at random but frequent intervals and for short durations (ca. 30 seconds per episode). It is absolutely maddening. Even though she hasn't changed anything on her Windows 8.1 laptop, and I've reinstalled Skype on my Nexus 5, my audio drops out some of the time during every single call. This happens very often during a call. It's to the point that I can't even open my mouth without expecting that my audio will drop out in the middle of what I'm saying, so that I end up having to repeat myself. If I'm really frustrated, I'll just type what I was going to say.
On the first few calls after my Nexus 5 received the Lollipop update, her audio would also sometimes drop out. We had to hang up and reestablish the call for her audio to come back on my end. Since then, we haven't had that particular problem, but sometimes her voice is garbled - as if I'm only hearing every other syllable - even though she's speaking directly at the microphone. Both systems (phone and laptop) are up to date, latest drivers, latest Skype, etc.
Given that she hasn't changed anything at all on her end, it's rather clear that the latest Skype for Android has a problem. TL;DR: I appear to be "muted" to other caller at random, even though I'm not muting myself, and her voice is occasionally garbled. It happens over and over again during a call, without warning.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Unfortunately, although my audio is no longer dropping out, we have been unable to use Skype for the last couple of days.
Last night, I could neither receive nor make Skype calls using my phone.  If she called, it would only ring on my desktop PC.  If I called her, it never rang on her end, and would either ring once or not at all (i.e. the sound effect I normally hear when calling didn't play) and would simply "fail" for no apparent reason.
Skype on my laptop doesn't work well, because there is almost always a problem with my audio being replaced with a "white noise" type sound on her end at random intervals and durations.
So, we had to use Google Hangouts video chat last night.  It doesn't work that well either; frequently, there is an absolutely terrible audio feedback/echo problem.
I hope Skype can be made to work again on my phone.  I've given up hope of it ever working 100% on my laptop, but I'd rather use it on my phone anyway, as it's far more portable.

  • Audio Drops Out on Long Clip: Win 7 - AVCHD - CS4 (PP4.1)

I've just brought up a cranking new Win 7 64-bit machine today and thus far almost everything has flowed swimmingly. I can work with AVCHD files easily, can run to AE and PS, etc. All great.
Then this evening I tried a clip that was significantly longer than the otehrs I'd been trying. It's about 10 minutes in a single take. After a couple of minutes, the audio just stops playing. The timeline display shows audio information there -- but it just stops playing any sound, even as the picture continues.
I thought: maybe it's building a preview. So I let it sit for a couple of minutes, then hit play -- same behavior, audio vanishes at the same point in the clip.
Next, I broke out NeoScene and copied the same clip to Cineform. Loaded up the copied file in PP CS4 and found that it played without any issues. All picture, all audio.
Any suggestions, other than converting everything to Cineform (I bought this machine so I wouldn''t have to!!)?
I shot that clip on a Canon HF S11 @ "PF30" -- which is still stored at 60i in the AVCHD file. Could this be the culprit? (And if so, what to do about it?)
    Thanks,
    kb

    My setup is as follows:
Premiere: Pro CS4 updated to current.
Computer: Quad core (HPM9060N tricked out with 8G RAM, 1.5T primary disc, Win7 Ultimate 64-bit)
Cameras: Sony HDR-SR5 (Hard-drive early AVCHD c. 2007. This camera is basically retired but I am still doing post on some files created with this camera - the new one just came out Mar. 7...)
Sony HDR-CX550V (absolute jewel of a camera; top-of-the-line consumer; 64G flash memory, somewhat tweaked and updated; allows saving of sound as 2-track instead of forcing 5.1).
I produce videos for small opera companies in New York City. My standard product is a one-camera shoot of the opera divided by acts, so I will have files approaching 1-1 1/2 hours. I have found Premiere support to be clueless and/or in denial about some of the problems with these files which almost exclusively have to do with audio (the video editing window looks horrible but the final product is excellent; I think this is being remedied in CS5...)
The usual problem is that the audio drops out at some point. I'm sure that I should put a "do not open til Xmas" sign on the thing and not mess with it while it's conforming and that MAYBE that would stop the "silent-movie" effect at the end of the files.
I have found an effective work-around: CLOSE Premiere, LOCATE AND DELETE the .cfa and .pek files associated with the offending clip, OPEN the .m2ts file in Soundbooth. Save the file as a .wav; re-open PPro, unlink and delete the original soundtrack and replace with the .wav. Hope you haven't edited the video first! Since the application has the same hooks as PPro but uses WAY less resources (and it won't LET you try to mess with the file while it's conforming!) it invariably finishes out the result.
This adds significant time to the workflow. Shame on Adobe for not having fixed this (and other anomalies surrounding AVCHD) during the reign of CS4; let's hope they get it right NEXT version!

  • T410 audio drops out after 10 seconds

I have an issue whereby audio drops out on the internal speakers after 10-20 seconds. Adjusting volume or mute/unmute fixes things for another 5 seconds before audio drops out again.  Headphones work fine from VGA port!  Things I've tried without luck:
    1. updating the sound driver
    2. updating BIOS
    3. reseating battery
    4. disabled all enhancements in the speaker properties
    5. disabled exclusive mode's "allow applications to take exclusive control of this device"
    6. there are no "disabled" or "disconnected" devices in sound properties
    T410 (model 2522R34)
    Windows 7, x64
Conexant 20585 SmartAudio HD with driver 4.95.48.50
A cold beer for whoever suggests the correct fix for this!

Does it happen in Safe Mode?
EDIT: Forgot Safe Mode has no audio. Try launching MSCONFIG and disabling stuff in the Startup tab, then rebooting. Or try a bootable Ubuntu LiveCD.

  • Audio Drops Out After 30 Seconds

I have just installed Premiere Elements 12 on a new Toshiba with Intel i5 and windows 8. When I play a viedo through Elements the audio drops out after 30 seconds. When I play the same viedo through Windows audio does not drop out. I have an older HP with Intel i3 and Windows 7 running Premiere Elements 10 and I do not have any issues with the audio dropping out. This is the first time I have used this forum so I hopr I'm doing this properly. Thank you, Bob.

With a slower machine like that, it's possible you haven't given the program time to fully conform the audio and video in your file.
Clear the file from your Project Assets and re-add it to your project. Watch the progress along the bottom of the program and wait until it has completed its conforming before you start editing.

  • Audio drop out in Encore AND Premiere

Strange problem. I am trying to burn a dvd with Encore. All the files play fine in QT, all the audio is there. once in Encore, it randomly picks clips to not play audio AT ALL. Sometimes it will play part of a clip then drop out audio. I have re installed and tried several tricks, like bringing files into Premiere Pro to render out a different file type. Now my premiere wont play the audio randomly either and the file produced has no audio! all other audio/video apps running fine. Not sure if its a Adobe Production Studio problem or a glitch in my system, thou as I said, rest of system works fine.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
    Steve

Well, thanks for reply but I got it to work after several work arounds, thou my Adobe products still seem to be working strange(Not opening as I closed them, etc.)
So, foe giggles, here was what I was working with.
I digitized some footage from a digibeta into my Avid where I exported Quick Time reference files to be used in After Effects.
In After Effects I exported Quick Time Movies with Blackmagic codec,8bit, with 4800k audio, uncompresed. All where NTSC 29.97. Files play in Quick Time/Windows media player no prob.
Installed Blackmagic codec on my home system for the final build with Encore2.0 DVD and thats when all the fun started. Encore would play files fine but then start to randomly drop out audio at burn.
To solve this I pulled QT's into Premiere Pro2.0 and exported WAV files to swap out for in Encore. This almost worked until Premiere started to mimic the Encore problems with random audio drop out.
After several retarts of the programs ( they would both have ASIO driver problems and quit audio. I replaced my driver, still same problem. whew!)I got the files all rendered.
Wow, still with me? Thanks! so long story I finally got the QT re rendered in Premiere to DV files that worked fine in Encore.Still think I have a system bug or somethig due to the fact these programs and Photoshop too are acting "wonky", crashing out or locking up, etc.
Thanks for the intrest!! any suggestions on system checks would be great!

  • HELP.....Audio drops out as slides change

    Can anyone help?
I have imported an audio file and have modified the position of the slide markers in the edit window so that it plays accross several slides as background music. Each time a slide changes the music drops out for a split second and then resumes.........pants!
    Cheers
    Sam

    Thanks for your quick response
...I've run the patch (up to vs 7.05) however the problem is still there, the audio drops out as each slide changes (chops out and back very quickly) Any more ideas welcome!

  • HELP! Audio Drops Out When Trying to Capture Canon XL2 Footage

Please help me out here. I'm a freelance camera operator w/ a Canon XL2 and several times now I've gotten calls from the editors saying they're having problems logging my footage, mainly the audio drops out quite a bit, and I'm not talking bout one second for every 2 or 3 minutes. No. It's like every 10 seconds the audio drops in and out.
What's the deal? Two times the guy was using a Panasonic DVX-100A to capture, another time it was a SONY DSR mini-DV deck. With each incident I had to go over with my XL2 and use it as the capture device, which is a pain.
The program they're using is FCP HD or 5. But I think even when they just play the tape in their Sony or Pany cameras, the audio may still suck.
Help me out here, I can't be the only one with this problem.
    Thanks.
    -R

Well Robert Swanson, I hope my post wasn't taken offensively, it certainly wasn't meant as such. The only Canon camcorder I owned was the GL1. After switching to Sony's I can honestly say it would take something significant to go back. And, I was merely relating my experiences in trying to capture from other Canon camcorders so that I know where you are coming from. However, I am interested in the HVX being the "noisest" camera on the market. I am seriously considering this camera and would be interested in a review that points this out. I would be using the hard drive recorder instead of P2 cards.

  • Audio drop-out in FCPX with 1920x1080 & 2048x1240p @ 24p (codec Apple ProRes 4444 (Linear PCM))24p

    Hi all...
    I'm new to this forum.
Is there an audio issue (drop-outs) with FCPX (ver 10.1.2) for 1920x1080 24p, 1080p HD & 2048x1240 24p (2k) - note: films in FCPX are in codec Apple ProRes 4444, Linear PCM?
Very recently I've been working on a show reel and I have imported a file (short film) to snip out a section to add to the show reel.
I set the project to the film's settings i.e.. "set based on first video clip"...(1920x1080 24p, 1080p HD).  When I play the film in FCPX the audio "hic-cups"..."dips to silence"..."drops-out" briefly (up to 0.5 secs in duration) and very frequently all the way through (approx 15 mins long film)...note: audio set is at stereo 48kHz. The audio monitors on the right hand side also show the dip taking place (if it's a long enough drop-out).
I also have a version of the film in 2048x1240 24p at 2k, again Stereo 48kHz...and this does the same audio "drop-out" all the way through.  I'm unsure what other formats will create this problem i.e. higher or lower aspect ratios than those above.
Is this a software and/or OS issue?  Or a hardware issue?  Or both!?
    About This iMac details:
    iMac 27 inch: OS X ver 10.9.4
Processor: 3.5 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory: 32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4096 MB
    Fusion Drive 3.12 TB
Final Cut Pro X was bought & installed with this iMac back in Feb 2014
    FCPX version: 10.1.2
Note also:  I used Compressor (ver 4.1.2) to convert the files (movies) above to Apple ProRes 422 HQ, Linear PCM and the issue disappeared - the audio and visuals played with no problems.  All films play with no issue when opened in QT player.  They are also fine when exporting from FCPX.  The issue only occurs (as far as I can tell) within FCPX when editing or playing the audio there.
    Has anyone encountered this problem?
    Kind Regards,
    Hakan

    Hi Luis,
    Thank you for that.
Seems like you have a point about the "hardware" issue.  I'm unsure (new to it all) at what data rate my (er...wonderful) fusion drive provides FCPX for smooth playback - or where I can find that info on the iMac.  Playing back movies in the 422 HQ codec seems to have no issues (when I converted the movie from 4444 HQ).
But playing the full 4444 HQ, the picture is smooth, but the audio has these drop-outs - even with "best performance" option ticked. Interesting that the audio suffers, not the picture in FCPX - so not sure what's going on there. I also read - perhaps - that to play a smooth ProRes 4444 HQ movie in FCPX the data rate should be min of 500 Mbs (based upon About Apple ProRes) for HD movies and up (i.e. 2k).  ProRes 422 HQ needs a data rate of 220 Mbs - so that is my upper-limit to smooth video&audio playback with the current system I have, I guess.
Does anyone recommend a fast USB3 or Thunderbolt drive (500Mbs+) where I am able to run 4444HQ movies with no issues to picture or sound (away from the fusion drive)?

  • Audio drops out when following video to external monitor

When I play a sequence to an external monitor, the audio drops out for 2 to 3 seconds after changes on the video track, and then pops back in with no interuption in video output. It doesn't happen at every cut, but it's consistent in the places it does. I thought it might be caused by the size the project has become. So I exported the sequence as a quicktime file, closed the lage project, opened a new one and exported the new file and played it and it happened again, even though there were no edits. It doesn't occur at all when I turn off external video, and play it on the computer. I connected a new firewire from the computer to my DV deck, restarted the computer, but it keeps happening.
Is it that the dramatic change in color, light and compostion crowding out the audios ability to follow the video through the wire?
I'm completely stumped. The next step will be to open the computer and try to blow any excess dust out. I do this periodically anyway, and my last time was two months ago, so I'd be surprised if it works.
Maybe the G4 with 2G processing power can no longer handle the program, but it shows no sign of stuggle in any other way.
My clients are starting to grow restless.

Thank you so much X & Paul, for your suggestions. Although they didn't solve the problem, they kept me hopeful enough to continue my quest for an answer. After exhausting all effort to find the problem in the audio, I decided to focus on the video. So, I tried correcting the excess luma on the consolidated QT movie, and suddenly the problem was fixed. Because of the different levels of correction I'd need for each and every cut in the original sequence, and the precious time it would take, I'd planned to save it for the color correction stage, a mere 2 weeks away. I remembered how illegal white would often cause the image on some monitors, specifically consumer TVs, to waver for a second. But this was happening all the way back to the DV deck's audio meter, so I never expected it to be a luma issue.
I assume that the outdating capacity of my G4 played a part, but I wanted to write back with my thanks, and to impart my illuminated wisdom to the next perplexed soul.
    Thanks again,
    jesterhead

  • Video & Audio Drop Outs on Macbook Pro

I have a MacBook Pro with Version 10.7.3, 6 months old. Just recently when I play video, regardless of whether it's in iTunes, iMovie, or embedded in Keynote the video sticks, audio drops out for 1 -2 seconds or the shot freezes. What causes this and how is it fixed.

I apologize for the audio drop outs. I have sent you a private message to get account information from you so we can reprogram your boxes.
