K410 won't install new OS.

I recently bought a Lenovo ideacentre k410 from Fry's Electronics. It has a intel I7-3770 processor. Two terrabytes of harddrive space, 8G of ram.
I tried installing a clean version of windows home server 2011. Yet when starting up it "hangs" or freezes on the windows logo "starting windows"
The operating system pre installed in the system was windows 8. I called the support services, but they were saying that they do not support windows home server 2011.
The only modifications i have made to the BIOS was switching the startup sequence so it would read the DVD Drive first. Anybody have the same problem? Any solutions?

Can you boot into the BIOS and set the following settings:
Startup Tab
CSM = Disabled
Boot Mode = Auto or Legacy
Boot Priority = Legacy First
Exit Tab
OS Optimized Default = Disabled or Other OS

if the battery is completely dead, just keep the phone connected to the charger, and wait about 30 mins before trying to turn it on
and fyi, if the charger is not powerful enough, lumia phones can drain the battery even if it's connected to the charger

White MB won't install new OS

My wife's white MB recently died, giving the white screen w/ flashing question mark folder. I have installed a new hard drive after trying every idea I could find on Apple support and even talking to a Genius on the phone.
I tried installing 10.5 on it directly but the disc I have is an upgrade disc; it states that I can't install 10.5 because 10.4 isn't present. Of course, it doesn't give me the option to insert the 10.4 disc to install that first. But that's okay, because I have the original 10.4 disc too. In the meantime, I was able to format the drive using the Disc Utility on the 10.5 disc.
When I insert the 10.4 disc, the MB doesn't recognize it. The disc spins up but then the question mark folder appears. Regardless of how long I leave the computer sitting, the CD is never booted from. I tried booting while holding the "C" key and while holding "Option-Command-Shift-Delete", both of which are supposed to force a CD boot. Neither of those worked.
I tried installing via Target Disk Mode, using our iMac to install 10.4. Unfortunately, the iMac wouldn't let me load the 10.4 install program; it kept saying that 10.4 is incompatible with the machine. Well, duh! I have 10.5 on the iMac; I simply want to install it on the Target Disk but it won't load far enough for me to tell it where to install it.
Right now I'm at my wit's end. I know the HD is good because it's brand new. I know that both the 10.4 and 10.5 discs are good because I can load both of them on the iMac and at least the 10.5 disc will boot on the MB. However, I can't get the 10.4 disc to boot up on the MB.
I'm starting to suspect there is more at fault w/ the MB than just the hard drive getting corrupted. Is there some way I can get 10.4 to be installed so I can then put 10.5 on it?
Alternatively, is there a way to simply copy/clone my wife's profile from the iMac onto the Macbook without having to install 10.4 then 10.5 first? I'm pretty certain that it's possible, I just can't seem to find the information on the Internet.

Well, it wasn't exactly as you stated. Lyssa, but I got it working.
I tried the Option key startup but had the same problem as before: the other computer kept trying to load the 10.4 disc on itself, rather than letting me install it on the MB.
After trying several other things, I finally tried to use my copy of a Time Machine backup, figuring at least that way I could get the OS installed then just remove my info so my wife could use the computer.
Oddly enough, once I had the Time Machine drive attached, the MB recognized the 10.5 disc and let me install the OS directly onto the MB. I suspect that it only needed another installation to "see", proving that an older OS was available for upgrade.
So, it's installed on the MB and so far everything works. Thanks for the help.

IPhone 4 won't install new apps.

Will only update old apps. When I select to install and enter my iTunes password, it flickers and goes from "installing" back to "free" or "buy". I've tried restoring and that did not help. This problem began after installing iOS 6.

Click on store and choose authorize this computer to authorise your store purchases to your computer, or you can go into your apps on your itunes then double click one and it will ask to authorize and you just have to put your apple id in. and then try syncing the apps again, this worked for me. Except I have a problem where i downloaded an app on my computer because my iphone internet couldnt download it for having too many MB and says it is loading on my iphone but the app is downloaded on my computer and still won't sync as long as it says it is "loading" on my phone.

Razr won't install new JB update!

Hello all!
I am so confused and LOST! I have a Droid Razr that fails at the update. This has happened 5-6 times already. I get to download it and then when the install comes about, phone reboots, shortly into the install the poor little robot falls over (poor robot). I have tried wiping the cache 2-3 times into the install process and it still fails. Since I can't boot the install from the SD card because it is not available anywhere else but OTA. I need help!!
PS: I have contacted Motorola themselves and they basically told me the same thing everyone has been told by VZW...buy a new phone or use an upgrade!

Try repairing disk permissions then restart the MacBookPro.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. *If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done.* Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

I had an issue like this during an update several months ago. Reflector was the problem package and the existing files were owned by reflector. I think it's worth mentioning since reflector is also a python package. Anyway, iirc I simply removed and reinstalled reflector.
Unfortunately, it won't be so easy for you since pyastpi is part of a dep-chain leading to gnome-shell... looks like you're going to have to figure out how to do it the right way

IMac DV won't install new Operating System on erased HD

Hi all. My iMac recently failed on every boot up and as I only use it as a music jukebox (I have a 20" G5 iMac for other things), I thought I'd erase the Hard drive and reload Panther. It previously ran 10.3.9 very well.
The iMac boots up off the Panther CD and starts loading the system onto the Hard Drive, then about 3 minutes it gives the error "the installer has quit due to an unexpected error (exit code 0) , please restart your computer". It does this when trying to load Panther or Jaguar.
Not I am stuck, I have a HD which is recognised by the iMac but I can't load any operating system on. At start up without the Panther CD istalled, all I get now is the finder folder with a flashing question mark and apple face logo.
I am desperate.....any suggestions.....

I did a futher test. I ran the Disk Utility at installation with the following results:
1) select Maxtor 76.34 MB, clicked "erase" (with install os9 drivers selected)
2) Got "setting up partition map", and "filesys on system" messages were both successful
3) Ran First Aid on the volume "Untitled" disk Verify Disk command says "The volume verified appears to be OK. Ran First Aid on "76.34GB Maxtor" and got the same result.
4) Continued with Install and got to "select a destination disk" and I selectd disc "untitled 76.3GB" then continue
5) Clicked Install.
6) Got the following messages: "Preparing the disk, preparing osx, preparing the base system, preparing essential system software, preparing the bsd subsystem then "you need to restart your computer" message.
It tends to be a different thing every time. Sometimes when I initially verify the volume or disc I get errors and have o do a repair. I get a message saying the repair has worked, but without a successful load result.
I guess I should be buying a new Hard Drive....
Will a 7200 rpm drive be ok in the iMac wrt heating issues (I cant get a 5400 any more).?

My font book won't install new fonts. These fonts are saved in Library/Fonts so not sure what is happening. Please help.

I am trying to install fonts from the internet, from dafont.com...in particular colleged.
I have downloaded the font, and saved it under User/Library/Fonts - and it appears there, but for some reason when i try adding this to my fontbook it will not install. I need it for Adobe InDesign.

System won't install new External HD: error message "resource busy"

I recently purchased a new Simpletech 1TB external HD to be run on a G5 IMac with the Leopard operating system. In order to set this system up to run on a MAC, the manual instructs me to open the disk utility, select the External HD, select Mac OS Extended for the format, click erase, confirm erase and wait for the HD to reformat. Whenever I try this, I get the following error Message:
Disk erase failed
Disk erase failed with the error:
Resource busy
I contacted Simpletech but the tech-rep had never heard of this issue. Any suggestions

After battling this problem for hours and searching infinite useless internet forums, I was able to develop a workaround at least. If you cannot get a drive to work using the 'Disk Utility" app, Try this:
WARNING: All data on disk will be lost!!!
1) connect any external drive you are having issues with
2) open a terminal (apps>utilities>terminal)
3) 'diskutil list' to identify the drive name (should be something like /dev/diskX) - you can recognize it by the size, hopefully
4) 'diskutil eraseVolume "MS-DOS FAT32" "NEWDISK" /dev/diskX'
and that should work. I tried it first with all versions of "HFS" types and it kept failing. My guess is that some hard drives interfaced thru firewire just cannot support MAC filesystems ??? At least with my case, it is true.

I think you mean Photoshop CS2. Photoshop 2 is from around 1992. The old Adobe activation servers were taken down. CS2 is about a decade old Adobe made a new download for old customers that legal customers can download and install. Download Acrobat 7 and CS2 products

Well I was able to obtain a work around download of Flash and it installed fine but Firefox tells me it needs updating so I go out, thinking I'm "IN" finally to update it and I get that issue of not being able to get the update for it. It's a regular laptop, not a touch screen or one of those new fangled ones for todays world. In fact it's a refurb so it's probably origin date was a year or so ago before all this MS stuff took off fully. So not understanding why I'm feeling like I'm being BLOCKED from getting the updated Flash I need and desire. If I click on the little "X" and tell it to ignore the warning the vid will play just fine but don't want to have to do that every time. Must be a better way.

You don't want to install the software that came with the drive, you don't need it and it will be problematic. Connect the new drive, open Disk Utility, select the new drive and partition it using the GUID partition scheme, then format it as Mac OS extended journaled and it will be easy to use with your Mac.

My Mac won't open certain files anymore so I can't install new programs.

I accidentally reset the default application used to open new programs that I try to install and now it won't open. It's set accidentally to use ScriptEditor. I'm not sure what "program" was used originally to open them, so I don't know what to reset it to. How do I fix it so I can install new programs again?
