K7N2 D2Platinum OnBoard Network Controller Stopped Working

Hi all.
I'm new here, but have to write, coz I have a very annoying problem. I got the advise to open a new, clear topic. Here it is:
I'm using my K7N2 D2platinum for more than 1 years, without any problem, using the onboard LAN for internet (connected to ADSL cable modem), and another Ethernet card for internal LAN.
2 days ago, I was playing network game with friends, when suddenly my connection was lost. I tried to reach homepages, but no avail. Try to ping some common addresses, nothing happens, 100% lost.
I rebooted, and saw, that my ip address for netconnection changed to 163... etc. This is weird, coz originally my ISP always give some 80... etc from DHCP.
I tried renew my ip, no success.
Called my ISP, they said, they can see my modem, but can't see my PC. I have to plug the cable to my another ethernet card for a moment - I did it, and they saw my pc in this case. They adviced to reinstall my onboard NIC driver. OK, perhaps later.
After all, I found an old Ethernet card (Realtek family) in my case, so I installed it. After a quick reboot my netconnection was fine through this new card. So no network problem on ISP side, there is something with my onboard LAN.
I tried to uninstall / remove the driver from hardware settings panel, but the info window freezes (can be closed via alt+F4). If I reboot in safe mode, and try to remove again, windows says : cannot remove, device is needed for operation. (or smth like this)
I tried reinstall LAN components from the latest MSI (nforce 1/2) driverset (5.10), but nothing changed. I think it cannot overwrite the old (damaged?) files.
Now I'm using 2 PCI eth.card, one to connect with another PC, and one for internet. I disabled the onboard LAN from bios. But this is annoying, I don't understand what happend from one minute to another, and I would like to use my integrated NIC!
I found some posts here, advising to set the MAC address in bios manually, regarding to a sticker on the mobo, but I don't have such an option in BIOS.
What should I do now? Are there any solution?

I switched Machine MAC Address to ENABLED, so I can enter the Address.
After pressed ENTER on MAC(NV) Address Input [Press Enter] , I got a new window, waiting for the address, telling: Enter:accept, ESC:exit.
I tried to type the numbers, but nothing happened, no numbers, no cursor, and after some key pressed, my PC started "ding"ing on evety new key pressed.
No ESC, no Enter, I could only ALT+CTRL+DEL the pc, so rebooted again.
Tried several times, after entering the small "enter MAC address here" window, the pc freezes. :(
Any idea now? ...

it went through four levels and finally ended at a superior tech. software/hardware
writer/installer person....took 2 minutes and he was done!

Your Apple TV may have become paired with another remote. Hold the remote close to and pointed at the Apple TV, hold down the menu and Rewind buttons together for 6 seconds or until you see a broken chain icon on screen.

Airport Express Wireless Network Suddenly Stops Working

Hi, I have a wireless network set up with a single airport express using WPA/WPA 2 Personal wireless security. The 5 daily clients on the network are 2 Mac laptops (Both Mac OS X.4), 2 PC's (1 Windows XP and 1 Windows Vista), and an iPhone.
Internet comes in from a Comcast connection directly into the airport express, which is set to create a wireless network and play music wirelessly using AirTunes. The Base station software is up to date, on Automatic Channel selection, and connecting to the internet using DHCP, automatic configuration and sharing a public IP address.
For some reason, every couple of weeks the airport network just stops working altogether. My Macbook Pro shows that it still has a connection with full signal to the network but has no internet connection. When I disconnect and try to reconnect, all attemps to reconnect fail. No other clients are able to get internet at this point, and I cannot even access airport settings from my Macbook Pro unless I manually reset the airport by unplugging and plugging it back in. With this reset the network starts to work again immediately and continues for several weeks again. Does anyone have any idea why it would have this random shut-off every few weeks? Thanks

I have a similiar problem. Every now and then, connecting to my Airport Express network results in "there was an error joining the airport network". It appears to me that this happens at random. Usually, the problem is solved by rebooting to Windows XP using Boot Camp, connecting to the network and then rebooting to OS X.
Recently, it's become worse: the problem persist but sometimes even rebooting to Windows doesn't solve it anymore. When I try to find out what's going on using the Airport Utility, the program tells me "airport utility was unable to find any airport base stations". The only thing that helps in this case is resetting/unplugging my Airport Express and reconfiguring it.
The problems occur independently from the type of security I'm using. It's very annoying and disappointing, since my current high-end MBP has this problem and my previous mac (an iBook) never had it.

I hard reset the N8 with the code *#7370# but after that the Social network apps stopped working. Facebook could not be connected even when I'm entering the correct user id and password.

I understand about the the alternative no offences but is the default application gonna be dead from now on for me ? Nokia should test something before they put it for people to use . . *If you have a 32-bit Vista,* open the "Program Files" folder.
*If you have a 64-bit Vista,* open the "Program Files (x86)" folder.
Open the "QuickTime" folder.
Right-click the QuickTimePlayer.exe file and select "Run as Administrator".
Does it launch this time, or do you still get the error message?

Windows 7 x64 Network Adapter Stops working on high load

My Network has been failing and it has been happening for about a month or so on Windows 7 x64. I dont think that the system configuration is the problem as it is happening on 2 seperate machines. One being a relatively beefed up "white" box, 4 gig OCZ ram, EVGA nForce 790I SLI Mobo, Q9600 Quad core processor, dual raid 1 - 150 Gig Raptors, 2 8800GTX SLI cards, Pure Power 800W PS. The second machine is an IBM Netbook S10. I use the Netbook as a media center connected to a Pioneer Elite 1050HD. One thing is I have a PS3 and have several 1TB Esata drives connected to an IOGear 3132 Esata 3.0Gb pciX card to my desktop.
My typical usages:
1. FTP from a private server
2. Streaming music via Winamp
3. Streaming video 720, 1080 from pc to PS3 via the PS3 Media Server
4. DLing demos or movies on the PS3
5. Network streaming a movie from the Esata drives to the bedroom or kids rooms
6. Streaming video from abc.com or southparkstudios.com from the Cox cable modem
7. RDC over VPN to work machines
Now I have noticed that when I am streaming HEAVILY, from any 2 of the above mentioned, my network connections will simply stop working with a yellow exclamation mark on the task bar network icon after a few moments, nothing in the event logs, no logs or ANYTHING at all. It will simply stop working no notifications or anything poof, gone. I have EVERY single patch, driver anything I can think of installed. Nothing works, the timing is completely random. FYI I have a NETGEAR ProSafe VPN Firewall FVX538 with a cable modem connection on WAN 1 and a cellular connection on WAN2, these have no impact I feel on the connections because the PC may go down or the Netbook will go down depending on which one has the most load. So this simply tells me that it it not a firewall router problem as I have tried using a cisco unmanaged 24 port 1GB switch and I get the same problems. From analyzing the systems and layout I am led to believe that it is either a network adapter driver OR a Windows 7 problem (collisions, unhandled exception?), this NEVER happened with XP or Vista. I have tried everything but a new network adapter, I have tried the secondary adapter card on the mobo, I have tried bridging the two, I have tried daisy chaining the switch and putting each machine on its own dedicated switch linked to each other with no change. When the network goes down it is only that box effected, all other machines still connect to each other fine, only the one with load shuts down and the only ones that shut down are Windows 7. These machines are all wired with commercial cat5e patch cables, they have all been swapped for new ones lately. All networking and PC equipment are on UPS so I doubt voltage variations. Windows Firewall is disabled I only use the hardware firewall, I do not use any antivirus.
I am completely out of options, can anyone recommend a new route?
In addition when I go to the command prompt and attempt to do an ipconfig /release. I get an error saying that the adapter is not in a usable state. Very irritating, this forces me to reboot, or right click disable/enable on the network adapter. The right click route takes almost a minute to complete.
Tried update driver in nvidia control panel, no luck. I have also turned off the networking power saver option in the adapter settings.

Considering this issue occurs on 2 different machines, I also think this issue may be more hardware related. You may also try the following:
1.    If the computers are connecting to a router, please ensure the router’s firmware is up-to-date.
2.    Please run the following command in an elevated command prompt in Windows 7:
netsh interface tcp set global rss=disabled
netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
netsh int ip set global taskoffload=disabled
3.    Disable SNP in Windows 7 by setting Registry as following:
Note: Please perform a full-system backup first.

Hi, I'm experiencing a simular problem here.
My PC was using Asus P5Q-E motherboard but exchanged it for Asus P5Q TURBO Pro because it loses 'connectivity ' after an interval between a few hrs to 26hrs. During this state, I can't browse or my Outlook to check emails. The only thing that can send/receive data is Vuze. Plus, the strange thing is that the network icon says there's nothing wrong at all (when it obviously there is). Even the currency desktop gadgets says the time elapsed since it 'lost connectivity '.
I initially thought P5Q-E was faulty so now I'm using the TURBO Pro. However, the problem still persisted.
I am using Win 7 Ultimate x64 with all the updates and drivers. Connected via LAN cable to the router and the firmware is the latest. My ISP sent me a replacement router to confirm that their equipment is not faulty, which is true.
I have tried the above methods 1-3.
Although I'm not sure if I implemented Method 3 correctly since I don't usually go to the registry but here's what it looks like after creating it:

There are 3 more PC's and 1 laptop in the house. 2 PCs use Win XP, 1 uses Win 7 Ultimate x64 and laptop uses Linux Ubuntu.
My PC has a second OS, Linux Ubuntu, I used it to time trial both motherboards (before and after switching) and found no problems at all even after 48hrs, so it confirms it's not a hardware issue.
The other PC's apart from mine are connected wirelessly. As far as I've been told, they don't experience the same issue I have.
I've been trying to tackle this problem for months now and I'm frustrated to reboot my PC every time it 'loses connection '.
I chatted with Asus about the issue when I still had the P5Q-E mobo, they said that they built a simular system to mine with the same mobo and said they couldn't reproduce the problem I'm having. THey even tested on other mobos with the same LAN chip and found nothing wrong. That's why I got the TURBO Pro that has a different LAN chip.
Anyone got anymore suggestions???

Quick Time Player stopped working & Export Controller stopped working

I'm not quite sure when my problem began, I downloaded video from my Canon sd980is camera to my computer, when I tried to view the videos I get the Quick Time Playerhas stopped working "A problem caused the program t stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available" and I also get Export Controller has Stopped Working. I have attempted to uninstall QuickTime but am not sure if that actually occured. Now, when I try to open QuickTime it says "Quicktime has stopped working. I am able to play music and video from my itunes. I just can't play my .MOV from my camera on computer. ANYONE able to assist??

I've got a few suspicions here, but I'll ask some questions before proceeding (to work out if I'm on the right track).
Was this the first time you had downloaded video from the camera to the PC? If so, did you have to install any Canon software in order to do that? If so, what was the name and version of the software?
When you tried to uninstall QuickTime, did you get a "fatal error" message?

T450s Network adapter stops working

We've got a number of T450s laptops which we have imaged with Windows 7 Enterprise x64 using SCCM 2012. Although it took a bit of work to get the laptops imaged with the I218-LM network adapter, we were eventually able to get this driver loaded under WinPE and the laptops imaged successfully.
We are attempting to use Windows Easy Transfer (aka WET) to transfer profile and config info from older laptops (T410 / T420) ... During the transfer, the network adapter will stop passing all TCP/IP traffic. The WET transfer stops and even simple pings fail. Disabling and re-enabling the I218-LM network adapter causes network connectivity to restore and the WET transfer to continue, though it often fails again in a very short time-span (10-60 seconds). This stoppage of TCP/IP traffic happens apparently at random, but I"m sure there's some pattern we haven't ID'd yet. There does appear to be a high corrilation on the traffic stopping during heavy activity during the WET transfer.
When the IP traffic stops, the NIC's packets sent/recieved counters do not increment. Outward signs still make it appear the NIC is connected (link state shows up, LED incicators on the NIC still are lit with the orange indicator flashing).
We have tried two different drivers from Lenovo: 12.12.80.19 and 12.12.80.1950
I've also tried downloading drivers direct from Intel, package version 20.0, which installs driver version 12.12.80.19
I've already also tried disabling many of the harfware acceleration features (RSS, IPv4 TCP/UDP offloading, etc)
Has anyone else run into a similar situation or have any clue how I can stop the network from stopping?

Unfortunately I still don't have a resolution to this... But I wanted to add a piece of information...
I was able to replicate this problem using Lenovo's stock (OEM) install of Windows. This should effectively eliminate the posibility that we introduced the problem with our custom load.

Network Extender stopped working with new FIOS Quantum router

I have had a Network Extender for a few years (the older 1x model, SCS-26UC4) but it stopped working when I upgraded to FIOS Quantum. That upgrade included a new router.
I have opened the TCP (53, 52428) and UDP (500, 4500, 52428) ports on the router without much luck.
The Network Extended does seem to work if I bypass the FIOS router and connect the Network Extender directly to the WAN. So it seems the issue is in the router configuration.
All lights are blue except for the SYS light, which cycles from fast red blink, slow red blink, steady red and then blue for a while. When it's blue the extender works (which I can tell by the sound my phone makes when it connects via the Extender). But then it goes back to red.
One thought I had was to open a DMZ on the router but I cannot find the instructions. It's the Actiontec MI424WR router.

Try page 83 in the user guide for the DMZ.
Call Verizon Communications and tell them your Verizon Wireless Network Extender does not work when connected to the router, but it does work when connected directly to the ONT. You shouldn’t have to use a kludge (DMZ) to make it work, the router should be smart enough to figure it out.

PS4 Controller stops working during games... help!

Right, so basically... I was playing Lego Marvel earlier today, when all of a sudden the face buttons weren't working, I could still run around, but not attack or jump... I pressed the Playstation button and it went to the menu, so I closed the application, and restarted the game. From here, I couldn't press ANY button, or even use the analogue sticks, only the Playstation button worked, so I had to do a hard reset of the console, since I couldn't press a button to close the application at all... I've tried it with other games now, Killzone, Flower, Resogun and Battlefield 4, and it seems that as soon as I boot a game up, my controller becomes completely unresponsive apart from the Playstation button, even the analogue sticks stop working, so I can't navigate menu's or anything... not even the PS4 menu works after I boot a game up... so everytime I've had to do a hard reset. Not sure if it's the controller, since I've had it since launch day and it's worked perfect up until now... Has anyone else had this problem, and is there a way to fix it? D:

Ok guys,had this happen to me recently and here was the fix,though some may not like it. the PS4 would act normal on boot-up,controller functioned fine.Upon loading a game or even clicking in menu/submenu areas the controller would cease to respond..no button responses,analog sticks not moving anything,etc.The only thing left functional was the PS button.Did some basic troubleshooting steps to rule out a glitch with the app/game and when all else failed went straight to the horses mouth. I got on the phone with PSN and got walked through 3 steps with a Sony rep.Her accent was a bit hard to follow at times,but bonus points for sounding hot as well as being surprisingly helpful and knowledgeable. 1. Controller hard reset. Flip the controller over and look at the backside.On the right side next to one of the screws is a small hole which houses a reset button,similar to a router.Youll need a paperclip or something similar to get down in there,I used a straight pick from an o-ring pick set.If I recall correctly the controller should go dark and perhaps even come back to life pulsing orange.Hit the PS button and it should give the prompt to assign it to an account as per any other device that connects on the fly. Now this also assumes you do not have a faulty controller.If you do have one on hand,of course swap them out and check the results. 2. Rebuild database This is where it started sounding a bit scary.The rep had me put the PS in Safe Mode for the following step.There are 2 ways to enter safe mode.If the system is powered up you can hold the power button - youll hear the initial beep that indicates system shutdown and a subsequent beep a few seconds later confirming it is entering safe mode.A few seconds later the safe mode menu should display on screen.If the system is powered down or in standby hold the power button through the 2 beep sequence as its booting up and safe mode should display shortly. Once in safe mode 7 options will be displayed.You want option 5, "Rebuild Database".This is the first step in getting a bit more serious with the glitch for a good reason.Evidently it rebuilds the database for the system without erasing anything on your hard drive.All of your information will safe,or at least mine was and the rep was confident in it.It took roughly 5 minutes for the process to complete and afterwards I still had the same problem.Fear gave way to despair and at this point I was getting *****.Of course the rep was doing a good job helping me out,so I wasnt about to give her a hard time..no need in that.At this point I thought I had a $400 paperweight on hand. 3. Initialize PS4 This one got down and dirty.Initialization is pretty much what it states.It wipes the HD and places the PS4 in the state you found it right out of the box.All defaults are restored and NO games/save files survive.All clear.The PSN rep stated that it was a good thing having the Playstation Plus subscription,for the purpose of not having to pay to re-download any games.Im not sure if save files and so forth can be restored via the option that most games give to upload game files and saves to Sonys server periodically. Anyway,Initialization is option 5 in the safe mode menu and takes roughly the same amount of time as the database rebuild.It was rather painless,but then repeating the few minutes it takes to reset the time/date,re-associate your PSN account with the system,etc etc through the defaults.Once complete,I had full responsiveness from the controller at all times and the system is now performing as expected.If youre having a similar issue and wish to speak to Sony before wiping your HD,the contact number for PSN is 1-800-345-7669.Expect to be on hold waiting for a live rep for 10-20 mins,and while on standby to suffer through some absurdly loud/noisy game music.After entering some basic options with the keypad just relax until a rep comes on. Network logins stop working

Our school has a number of 10.4.7 eMacs that are bound to our OD server (10.3.9 X Server: can't upgrade to 10.4.8 server yet). Clients have static IP addresses and use the X Server as it's primary DNS. Forward and reverse lookups work great. Clients are bound to the server through Directory Access settings that we set manually. Users can login and get automount homes. Using 'dscl localhost' at command line and browsing LDAP shows the mappings to users on the OD server are working. Here is the issue. Periodically a user will logout and another user will go to login and the login window will 'shake its head'. The behavior is both sporadic and random. Generally a restart will solve this but one time I had to recreate a user account to get it working for that user again. We can't seem to find a pattern that will suggest why this is happening. Console logs have not offered hints. Anyone seen this and have any ideas?

If you have a leased line... I'd submit a ticket and have them do a network diagnostic, not you. But sounds like it is just you, so not a widespread event.
Sometimes the best or only way is to swap parts. AccelerateYourMac has Mac compatible enet cards and wireless 3rd party or how to replace / install yourself. Add wireless card from Apple or 3rd party.
Even swapping out cables.
APC will warrant equipment IF any and all sources of surge etc are protected. You might give AppleCare and tell them your ethernet stopped working, and they might want to look at it or do something, and have better tests. A network surge protector from APC has RJ11/RJ456/coax filters.
Or maybe someone here knows or in your company how to use a meter to see what is happening.

[Solved]All wireless networks have stopped working

Connecting to wireless networks that i have previously connected to times out, both with network manager, and iwconfig.
I have tried on two networks i have previously connected to and both time out.
What is interesting is that i am able to connect if i set a static ip, but i cannot reach any addresses, not even 192.168.1.1

Issue was determined to be the ath9k module, fixed it by running:
modprobe ath9k nohwcrypt=1

Some news:
Networks without security works, right now i am using my tethering features for my Android phone.
I am already checking for last packages, un til now: uninstall usb_modeswitch no offers a solution (was one of the last packages with network relation), looking for more

Midi controller stopped working

I'm hoping someone can help. My midi keyboard stopped working in the tune that I'm working on. It works fine in other LP7 sessions that I'm working in but it won't work in this one particular session.
The transport menu shows "No In" for midi... I'm wondering if that is a clue to anything....
I'm using a M-audio Radium USB keyboard.

Today's rant is brought to you buy the word "bollocks".
This post is the 3rd or 4th report of a connection between the physical input and the seq. input disappearing. Sorry, but this is "bollocks" and needs to be addressed.
