Can anyone tell me regarding the K7N2 Delta LISR SATA HDD...
do we have to create array first b4 installing win98/winxp?
I can't find the way installing without creating an array. I remember it's not required for KT6 Delta?

  • K7N2 Delta LISR Resetting problem

Hi Guys Posted a while back regarding my system resetting all the time and have done the two things that were recommended to me me which was proper power supply and recommended memory as you can see i have spent £160 on these two items and am now pulling my hair out because my system is still resetting when i do anything that is graphically or resourcingly more than just surfing the net
the heatsink is fine and on correctly temps are fine and do not rise above recommended levels
    8 x AGP is disabled
but i still get a reset with windows informing me that the system has recovered from a serious error and the following is the reason shown when i click on the show detail button:
    C:\Windows\Minidump\mini020604-03.dmp
    C:\Documen~\1Longsh~\Locals~\temp\wer1.tmp.dir00\sysdata.xml
I am at my wits end all bios and drivers are up to date but the system just keeps crashing I am about to throw this board away and waste another £80 that I dont really have please Help me PLease Please Please

Did you try troubleshooting the system as I posted earlier? Also try uninstalling Norton and see what happens...you couldn't pay me to put that on my system...it's so intrusive into your system's registry who knows what havoc could be happening...
AVG 6.0 Free Edition or AVG 7.0 Pro version are great virus scanners...much less intrusive to the system and I've fixed many a system sporting good ole' Norton on em that let worms, viruses & trojans through...Had one machine with Norton on it, uninstalled it, installed AVG 6.0 Free Edition and found 146 instances of viruses, worms & trojans...
I never laughed so hard in my life...if you could just have seen my clients face that day...LOL
It's a driver or registry error of some sort so doing a clean install and a careful reinstall of your programs and such should get you fixed up I imagine...

If i select safe mode the system boots up in safe mode.
I also noticed after I had taken windows back to last known good configuration that windows had not recognised my card and just showed VGA adapter with the yellow exclaimation mark. I have tried another graphics card and that worked fine.
    windows installed it etc automatically
How can I read the blue screen or what is on it as it flashes up so quickly and what do you fine people think my problem is I have disabled 8x agp in bios

  • Jumper Settings for K7N2 Delta LISR and Athlon 3200 FSB400

    Hello Everyone,
(I think I sent this to Raven By E-Mail but I'm not sure, I'm still new to this)
    Having problems understanding jumper settings.
I cheched out the forum and the motherboard users guide to see which way the jumpers are set for my Board K7N2 LISR + Athlon 3200+ 400FSB.
In the user guide it say's:-
    FSB Mode Jumper: J10
This jumper allows you to set the CPU FSB mode, (It then shows two diagrams of Jumper 10) - first with pins 1 and 2 jumpered "user mode default 133Mhz" and the secound shows pins 2 and 3 jumpered "safe mode 100Mhz".
What has settings 133Mhz or 100Mhz got to do with a 400 FSB??????
    CPU FSB Frequency Jumper: J11
This jumper is used to specify the CPU FSB frequency. (again it shows two Diagrams) first: Leave the jumper short connected if a 133/166Mhz FSB is installed.
Secound:If the CPU supports 100Mhz FSB, leave the jumper open connected.
To use a 200Mhz FSB CPU, set the jumper short connected and enter BIOS setup Utility to adjust the CPU FSB Clock Frequency.
Again what has 133/166Mhz or 100Mhz got to do with a 400 FSB???????
For my K7N2 Delta LISR and Athlon Barton 3200+ 400 FSB, what Would I set J10 to:- (Jumpered Pins 1 and 2,= 133Mhz) or (Jumpered 2 and 3,= 100Mhz).
Also what would I set J11 to:- (Jumper pins Open = 100Mhz) or (Jumper short 133/166Mhz). Hope someone can help!!!!!!!!!
It would be nice if the User's Guide had a (If .... Then..... in it)
If CPU = Athlon 2800+ 333 FSB, Then J10 is jumpered pins 1 and 2,
If CPU = Athlon.... etc etc.... or even a couple of examples
Sorry this is so long, but I just need to tell someone, Thanks.

1 insafe mode it will boot at 100 fsb regardless of what you set in the bios
in user it will boot by what it sees the cpu as or what you set it to in the bios
     just leave it in user
if you o/c and it will not boot shut down put it in safe
then lower the o/c once it boots
again shut down and put it back in user
    2 just leave it shorted
only alter it if you used a 100 fsb cpu

    THNAK YOU

well sort off as although if you attatch a single drive you have to create an array in the raid bios ,its not a true array more a means for it to work with the drive
but if you mean without creating an array in the raid bios then no

  • MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR MB Problems, Need Help ASAP!! PLEASE

Ok  I just got this motherboard (MSI K7N2 Delta) Yesterday and after getting it setup I began overclocking the Processor (an AMD Athlon XP Barton Mobile 2500+) I was at 11x 215 1.750V Perfectly. I moved to 216 it started to seem unstable so I pushed the VCORE up to 1.775 and tried 217. It couldn't boot so I dropped it back down and decided ok 208 and a 11.5 multi might get me past the 2.4 mark which I was looking for. Well when I changed the Multi. to 11.5 and said save the system just sate as the flashing y for save. I could not change it to n I had already pushed enter So i firgured great and left it alone for a few minutes, nothing so I reset it. Now it refuses to boot/post. It spinds the fans the HD's the Network port is going but I get no picture. I have cleared the CMOS using the jumper I have removed the battery and power for over an hour and I still get nothing. I am assuming this is a BIOS error but I am not sure what to do to fix it. Does anyone here kno maybe, something I have yet to try something I can do? I would hate to RMA it and have to wait on newegg. Hell the thing is a day old. So please any idea's are welcome I have this posted on the Hard Forums as well but I am hopinh this forum may be more popular with getting help as no one is helping over there. Thanks!

    Hi,
Cross: Just in case you are doing something wrong there's a clear CMOS guide here, follow it to the letter (and don't forget to put the FSB jumper to SAFE beforehand - there's a note about it in the guide).
    How To Clear the CMOS
Your system board or CPU maybe not be dead yet - I had a similar problem with one of my boards and I tried everything - to cut a long story short I eventually got it working!!!
Btw, If you can't boot or get into the BIOS put your other CPU in (clear BIOS again after fitting!), so that you can prove whether your motherboard is working correctly!
Good luck!   I'm off ta bed!

  • MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR Memory problems

I'm trying to burn in a system in a 50 deg C (122 deg F) room for a minimum of 12 hours.  The main system components are as follows:
    Motherboard:  MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR
    CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2800+
    Memory: 2x512 OCZ PC3200 EL
My problem is that the burn-in software continues to freeze up during the memory test.  I've already contacted the software manufacturers and the software is stable.  It's a problem with the way the motherboard handles the memory.  I've tried putting the memory in dual channel configuration and changing the timing settings in the BIOS.  The SPD settings are 2.5-3-3-7.  Right now I have them at 3-4-3-8.  It's a lot more stable than it was under the default settings but it still freezes up sometime after 7 hours.  Unfortunately, I wasn't around when it froze so I don't know exactly how long it lasted.  I can say that after 7 hours, it wasn't showing any slowdown in performance.  If anyone could think of anything else I might be able to do to get the system stable, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for the suggestions.  The CPU FSB is 200, so it's already matched up there.  And we have a ton of fans already.  There are two in the front, 4 inside and 1 on the back.  It's a custom case, 2u high.  The power supply is oversized and more than adequate to provide the required power.  I have four of these units running right now.  Two with 2x512 sticks and two with 1x1024 sticks.  For each combination, the memory clock speed for one is 166 and 200 for the other.  I have been loosening up the memory timings trying to get the system stable, but it still isn't.  If the power supply is good, and I'm unable to cool the system anymore due to limititions within the case, is there anything you can think of to stabilize the system.  Maybe other settings in the BIOS or suggestions on how to go about getting good timings for the memory.  Thanks.

  • Duel boot K7N2 Delta using SATA and EIDE

I have a K7N2 Delta MB with SATA running RAID 0, also I have HD pluged into the Primary EIDE cable slot, using SC ( cable select ), everything works fine.   What I want to know is if anyone has had any luck using BOOT MAGIC (comes with Patition magic) to duel boot between the SATA and the EIDE drive.  Also I have found that once I set the SATA to be bootable AND loaded XP then I was not able to boot from any other device, floppy or EIDE. The floppy works fine when I use it once running on XP.  I have the floppy set as the first boot device the EIDE drive c: as second boot device and SCSI as third boot device, the system always boots from SCSI.  Any suggestions out there great ones?
Never mind I found the answer.
I took off SCSI from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd boot.  enable other boot and all works fine now.

Wonkanoby, You are now officially my hero. Did exactly what you said. IT WORKED. My system screams now.   Thanks.
p.s. Have you ever thought about rewriting the manual for MSI. Their documentation was confusing at best.
p.p.s Saw the other reply below about reflashing the bios. I see no need to do that. follow the instructions in the first reply and you should be good to go.

  • Weird K7N2 Delta (or sth) problem...

Hi all, I'll be quick because I need an answer to my problem as soon as I can...
Today I switched my old Albatron KM18G-Pro with an MSI K7N2 Delta-L, because I had problems with a heatsink on Albatron's Micro ATX mobo...
Ever since I did that, 3dmark01 score has gone at about 1000 (from 13200 to 12100) down, using the exact same drivers for VGA (Triplex Millenium Silver Ti4800SEV 128MB) mobo (nForce drivers v2.03 or 2.45 doesn't matter...). I can see that all tests from approximatelly Nature test and beyond are running choppy. I'm seeing choppy gameplay on screen but the fps on Nature seem correct. My refresh rate is set at the same rate as it was before (75Hz on my Eizo LCD 15" monitor). Fill rate runs too much choppily though the score must be correct. Tried switching to 4x mode but nothing happened. I'm really frustrated here guys so please help me...
ps. sorry for my bad english but I was in a hurry...

hi and welcome to this forum.
the score is not interesting and dont really say much.
whats interesting is how it works in games.
    tried any games?
    new install of xp?
    irq conflicts ?
    bye

  • Mystery Device on K7N2 Delta L in problem state

I have the k7n2 delta L motherboard with an athlon xp 2800+ processor and I'm running windows 2000 pro sp4.  In the device manager under "system devices" I have a device listed as "motherboard resources" with a yellow exclamation symbol and the properties indicate code 14 restart computer to get the device to work properly. I've done this to no avail and also reinstalled the drivers from the msi cd. The properties say its on the pci bus and uses input/output range 0060-0060 and 0064-0064.  It also indicates driver version 5.0.2195.6717.  What is this device and how do I get it to work?

Got a clue from German forum, I'll quote:
    - Fixed the exclamation point under Motherboard Resources of Device manager in Windows XP when use USB keyboard/mouse and set as "Support via BIOS".
So I checked the driver for the keyboard and it was version 5.0.2195.6717 same as the "motherboard resource" with "!" .  So more details: the keyboard I was using for my new system was my old compaq presario usb keyboard with funky "easy acess keys".  And I had usb keyboard support enabled in bios.  So I shut down, removed the keyboard and replaced it with a standard ps/2 keyboard and rebooted.  And voila the motherboard resource no longer had a "!" next to it.  Anyway since it wasn't causing a fatal problem I'm back to using the compaq keyboard until I get another standard boring biege ps/2 keyboard.  I'm glad I didn't go on a vmware goose chase.

  • K7N2 Delta ILSR memory problem

I have a K7N2 Delta ILSR board with Athlon XP 2500 with 2 Gig of Mushkin Black Line ram (the ones that are
suppose to be CL2). I change the FSB to 200, and my memory won't run at CL2. Want to raise the Dram voltage
to 2.8V to see if it would make a difference. I looked all over this site for the modded bios 7.8. Does anyone
have the modded bios??? Any help would be appreciated.......

He/She overclocked the 2500+, to make it become a 3200+. Done it myself, but it mostly works with the first step of the 2500+. - That means the overclock forum.
Well, CAS 2 is a very tight timing, which I don't think is possible. In general on Socket A systems:
    - FSB 133/266 --> CAS 2 or 2.5
    - FSB 166/333 --> CAS 2.5
    - FSB 200/400 --> CAS 3

  • About K7N2 Delta-ILSR SATA

I am already used up all the PATA/ide connector (for 2 optical drive, and 3 HD), and want to add a new HD...
Soo i am want to use the two idle SATA connector on my motherboard, the problem is: I don't need the RAID function, just plain SATA HD
is that possible?...i read the manual said it only for raid, and i don't want to make a wrong HD purchase(cause RMA can be pain in my ass in my condition)

Quote from: mechwookie on 09-September-05, 16:15:12
Like you want to, i've just started using my SATA connections.
You have to use it as RAID, theres no way around it. However, how you set it up is down to you. Raid 0/1 whatever.
Can't answer anything myself with regard to just using the the SATA's for another set of storage would be worth it in the long run or not, but will say this, Installing on the SATA's take a lil less time than using a standard IDE drive (just ya basic 7200rpm SATA, not the 10k Raptors which some say can install XP in under 20mins)
Will say this, just what are you planning to use the drives for? And can you post a sig with all you system details in it, including you ram make, and PSU voltage rails current capacity (that last bit is kinda compulsory when it comes to this forum  )
Soo there no other ways heh...maybe i suppose just swamp one of the old HD (40gigs) with the new one(200GB likely)
THe new drives should be just another generic volume aka not for installing OS...because the old ones getting full AGA!N...
Haven't i post all the details in my sig?...ow the rail capacity are:
    Vcore 1.63-1.7,
    3.3v=3.3-3.4,
    5V= 5-5.1,
    12V= 11.4-11.70
I think it still OK just +- 5% from the real voltage.........

  • [nForce] K7N2 Delta@ LSR stability problem

Okay gang...here's the scoop. Recently purchased the K7N2 Delta2 LSR and equipped it with an AMD XP-2600 (locked), 2X512 Rosewill Dual-Channel sticks, plus Samsung 80gb HDD and ATI Radeon 9000pro AGP. Built the system with no hassle and clean installed Win XP Home. Just wanted to get the system up, so left BIOS setting where they were for a couple of days. Noticed that the processor was not being recognized, so checked the BIOS and realized FSB was set to 133 (processor at ~1500mhz). I changed the FSB to 166 with multiplier of 11.5 (which, I believe is correct for my 2600 Barton). Voltage is at 1.65v. Memory is at DIMM slots 1 & 3 (dual channel) and memory voltage is at 2.7v. (Timings at 2.5,3,3,7) After I made these changes to the BIOS and rebooted, Win XP ran checkdisk, and reported no errors. The problem now, is that graphics-intensive stuff (i.e., games) cause system to freeze after about five seconds. When the processor was underclocked, I didn't have this problem. I'm not interested in over-clocking... just want it to be stable at stock speeds. Other applications (Word, Excel, IE, Outlook Express) run fine. My ATI Radeon 9000pro is a 4X AGP card (I have 8X disabled in BIOS), and the voltage is at 1.5v. I don't think this is a PSU problem (400w), and only noticed the problems since changing the FSB to where it was supposed to have been all along. Am I missing something obvious?

Board runs best with fsb:dram at 1:1  Not sure what speed memory you have but needs to run at same speed as fsb, ie 166 Mhz =333 ddr.
I found bios b3 to work best for me.  Give that a go.
Give make/model of psu with max amps to +3.3v, +5v and +12v.  See my signature for example.
I found that with other bios I need high performance setting in cell menu at optimised, so check that.
Search on this forum for my username and keyword 'bios' for lots of other posts.
    Good luck
