K7N2 Delta problems
Hey all..having a huge problem with my computer and have no idea what's going on.....when i try to reformat, i am getting errors with blue screen. errors are as follows: Page_Fault_In_Non_Paged_Area followed by the stop error numbers
Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal
IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equa
as well as a wait or yield error in a DPC routine
Now, when i reset the bios, it will reformat and install windows, but I never had to do this before. Also, when i am up and running, i am getting both crash and reboots, as well as lock-ups. Again, never happened before a month or so ago. Does anyone have any ideas? I don't know if this is a PSU issue, a BIOS issue( I just updated to the latest BIOS version, but after all the problems), a heat issue or what. Here are my specs:

K7N2 Delta problem after flashing from 5.0 to 5.3
I was using my K7N2 Delta nicely but after flashing the BIOS from 5.0 to 5.3 in LiveUpdate3 (all OK) and then when LiveUpdate ask to reboot... GOOD BYE!
When bootin the D-lights show that I have a processor damaged or not intalled properly (two red light up, and two green down...).
My processor is an Old Tbird 1.2 Ghz with 100FSB.
The question is: Why the mother stops recognicing the processor if before flashing BIOS worked nicely?.
J10 and J11 jumpers:
When I opened case to check out, I had the green J10 and J11 jumpers closed in the mother. The J10 was in safe mode, and the J11 jumper was closed...(133FSB-166FSB??).
I only have another athlon 1.1 ghz FSB100 processor to test the mobo, but I don´t want to take the risk of burn that one two (if is that the problem, of course).
So... I want to know how can I reflash the bios back (I have the old BIOS in a backup floppy disk, of course)... or if anyone else have the same problem as me....
Thanx a lot guys, and please help me... I´m very sad by now... because I don´t know how to get my computer to work.
Jose.

XFX GeForce 7600GS 512mb AGP with MSI K7N2 Delta Problem
Hi, I have been searching in everyplace and still I havent find a solution.
I have the XFX GeForce 7600GS 512mb AGP card.
I use the MSI K7N2 Delta.
My Processor its the AMD 2600+ XP
my PSU its a 420watt
my RAM its 2gb DDR 400
I made everything in the bios, didnt work.
I updated the lastest drivers and bios, didnt work.
I went to a friend house, he use a P4 motherboard with 500watts. Worked, PERFECTLY.
I changed the card once (the first one didnt worked at all) but this one worked...
now the question is:
HOW I MAKE IT WORK IN MY PC ?????????
Can anyone help me? I dont wanna sell it to a friend for only 60$ (that the only costumer I have found for the card in Panama)Heh I had problems with trying to see again was what happening in my PC but yesterday....
Ok I went to my friend house, we used the card with his 350 watts 15A in the 12V+ and it worked.
Then we tried to install the PSU but I dont know why its 4pin was incompatible with mine....
Well heres the important part: I went to a local Computer Store where they repair too and with another more powerfull PSU in my PC and the card didnt worked for seconds, but the guy played a little with my Ram and he noticed that its posible to that be the problem. Remember that my ram its a Kingston 400DDR 2X1 Gb running in the purple and the green slots of the mobo. when we changed them to both purples slots of the mobo the PC dosent work and make a the beep sound. I have the braket in my computer and it showed a red dot here: GR

Gonna search the manual to know what that means. -
Hey all,
Ive used a K7N2 Delta board for about a year with now probs at all... until now. Couple days ago i decided a new case was in order, i purchased case went home and transfered all the components over, as it was i was changing a few parts too so i decided to go with a rebuild followed by a format/reinstall to start a fresh.
I put pc together, reinstalled windows xp pc booted fine, then i spent the next 30 mins or so installing all the programs i normally use. This pc is 1 of 2 i use and is lower spec as i only use it for work purposes, i use 2 graphice cards in it for dual monitor, a geforce mx 400(agp slot) and a tnt 32 something (pci slot) after doing a bit of installing i went to the bios, the pc was booting using the lower card as pri display, all i wanted and all i did was change the first display in the bios to AGP. I hit F10 to save and restart... and nothin pc hasnt done a thing since.
I get no warning beeps at all when i try to power up, although the power lights are on and cpu/system fans run. I checked the D-bracket, the code it goes to as soon as you power up and it stays there is'Initializing Hard Drive Controller' I aint no wizard when i come to fixing or building pcs but as a DIY'er i still think i hold my own, ive done or tried everything i can think off... clear cmos, change battery, remove components, change components, ive tried to boot with nothin connected to everything connected, board wont even beep, just get same d-bracket message everytime, im under the impression that a new board is needed but i thought i'd post here in the slight chance someone might have a idea, or maybe able to tell me something i havent thought of.
thanksIve done everything described above, and redone it just to make sure lol Not being one to quit easily ive been messing around with the board, now im starting to think there maybe some life left in it after all, first off if i remove the memory it now signals the warning beep, something i wasnt doing, also the d-bracket code has changed, its now hanging on 'memory detection test' i know this memory is good, plus ive tried another module in with same results. Yet another strange thing, when i try to boot up with a xp2000 (also tried a xp1700) within a few seconds it shuts down, but if i try my 1300 duron and change mhz to suit even though im not getting anywhere near actually booting, it atleast stays on giving the memory code. Ive been told, dont know if this is right, that if i take the bios chip out of the board for 24 hrs it will reset the bios back to factory setting (bios has been flashed a couple times but not recently) any one know if this might help, or even if this will work? This board acting strange, bit of a mystery goin on ere lol any more suggestions?
thanks again

K7N2 Delta problem! please help!!
178182.1
just hooked up a new system
Athlon XP 2000+
384MB DDD333
MSI KYN2 Delta [right out of the box]
Maxtor 20GB 7200rpm HDD
Gigabte Radeon 9200SE 128MB
unknown brand CD-RW that i picked up awhile ago
it POSTs just fine, verified DMI Pool Data
[i was trying to install winxp on a new hd]
Boot From CD
NVIDIA Boot Agent, PXE-2.20 (build 082 V1.82)
copyright blah blah
copyright blah blah
PXE-E61 Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting NVIDIA Boot Agent.
DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER
i have tried 2 different IDE cable i have tried, one that i had laying around and one that actually came with the motherboard; both produce the same result.
i don't have the enough money for another CD-R at this point, so i'm hoping that isn't the problem.
Oh yeah, I have CD-ROM set to primary master and HDD set to primary slave.
When the computer starts the CD-R lights come up but i don't think its spinning the disc i'm trying [which is Win XP Pro]
PLEASE if you have any suggestions let me know, i REALLY want to get this machine going on, its been the goal of the month to get this puppy runnin and i finally got all the hardware for it =p
i have also tried setting both drives to cable select and yet a third IDE cable.
anything in the BIOS that might be causing this?Hello, I had the same problem the other day and the thing was that apparently, the MBR of my HDD was unable to be read in this computer, in other words some kind of incompatibility.
Try pressing the keys when the press any key message should come (but it doesnt).
Try also booting with another hdd and lets see if you can reach the WinXP installation. -

I ended up giving up on it for the time being, just using my SMC NIC. Would be quite interested in finding out what the problem is though.
Anyone else in the same boat?
Hi,
Your problem is not the same, SiliconMan is trying to connect with a dial-up modem not LAN. Your problem sounds like it may be configuration, do a search on this post, I'm sure you will find people with onboard LAN troubles. It's hard to troubleshoot though since you didn't provide any info about your computer. Good Luck

hi i have this configuration on my pc:
antec true control 550 watts
msi k7n2 delta ilsr

athlon xp 3200+
seagate 120 gb sata 7200.7 hd
ati radeon 9800 pro excalibur ice q
i have 2 problems : the first one is that sometimes windows display me a blue screen with certain problem related to ati2dg.dll i think that problem is beacause the video card so i decided to update the bios , in the live update page from msi says that the bios 7.6 fix a bug with ati vga cards but after flashing and updating to bios v7.6 that blue screen with the same error still appearing so i dont know what else to do to solve the problem and the second one is that when i start any game or make the processor to work a little mostly related with video stuff the case speaker start to beep and the pc lags until he restarts with no reason i really dont know why if u can help me thank youFoxtrotccs,
In the BIOS try setting the AGP to 4X and disable Sidebanding. Then set the AGP Apeture to 256. See if that helps.
Make sure you are running the lastest nVidia nForce Drivers and the latest ATI Catalyst Drivers
Take Care,
Richard
P.S. There is still a possibility that the Kingston RAM is the problem. -
MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR Memory problems
I'm trying to burn in a system in a 50 deg C (122 deg F) room for a minimum of 12 hours. The main system components are as follows:
Motherboard: MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2800+
Memory: 2x512 OCZ PC3200 EL
My problem is that the burn-in software continues to freeze up during the memory test. I've already contacted the software manufacturers and the software is stable. It's a problem with the way the motherboard handles the memory. I've tried putting the memory in dual channel configuration and changing the timing settings in the BIOS. The SPD settings are 2.5-3-3-7. Right now I have them at 3-4-3-8. It's a lot more stable than it was under the default settings but it still freezes up sometime after 7 hours. Unfortunately, I wasn't around when it froze so I don't know exactly how long it lasted. I can say that after 7 hours, it wasn't showing any slowdown in performance. If anyone could think of anything else I might be able to do to get the system stable, I would greatly appreciate it.Thanks for the suggestions. The CPU FSB is 200, so it's already matched up there. And we have a ton of fans already. There are two in the front, 4 inside and 1 on the back. It's a custom case, 2u high. The power supply is oversized and more than adequate to provide the required power. I have four of these units running right now. Two with 2x512 sticks and two with 1x1024 sticks. For each combination, the memory clock speed for one is 166 and 200 for the other. I have been loosening up the memory timings trying to get the system stable, but it still isn't. If the power supply is good, and I'm unable to cool the system anymore due to limititions within the case, is there anything you can think of to stabilize the system. Maybe other settings in the BIOS or suggestions on how to go about getting good timings for the memory. Thanks.

MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR MB Problems, Need Help ASAP!! PLEASE
Ok I just got this motherboard (MSI K7N2 Delta) Yesterday and after getting it setup I began overclocking the Processor (an AMD Athlon XP Barton Mobile 2500+) I was at 11x 215 1.750V Perfectly. I moved to 216 it started to seem unstable so I pushed the VCORE up to 1.775 and tried 217. It couldn't boot so I dropped it back down and decided ok 208 and a 11.5 multi might get me past the 2.4 mark which I was looking for. Well when I changed the Multi. to 11.5 and said save the system just sate as the flashing y for save. I could not change it to n I had already pushed enter So i firgured great and left it alone for a few minutes, nothing so I reset it. Now it refuses to boot/post. It spinds the fans the HD's the Network port is going but I get no picture. I have cleared the CMOS using the jumper I have removed the battery and power for over an hour and I still get nothing. I am assuming this is a BIOS error but I am not sure what to do to fix it. Does anyone here kno maybe, something I have yet to try something I can do? I would hate to RMA it and have to wait on newegg. Hell the thing is a day old. So please any idea's are welcome I have this posted on the Hard Forums as well but I am hopinh this forum may be more popular with getting help as no one is helping over there. Thanks!
Hi,
Cross: Just in case you are doing something wrong there's a clear CMOS guide here, follow it to the letter (and don't forget to put the FSB jumper to SAFE beforehand - there's a note about it in the guide).
How To Clear the CMOS
Your system board or CPU maybe not be dead yet - I had a similar problem with one of my boards and I tried everything - to cut a long story short I eventually got it working!!!
Btw, If you can't boot or get into the BIOS put your other CPU in (clear BIOS again after fitting!), so that you can prove whether your motherboard is working correctly!
Good luck! I'm off ta bed!

MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR (MS-6570) BSOD problems grrr
I recently purchased this board and although it is an awesome product, I'm having a problem with BSOD's when I play a game for a certain period of time
Specs:
MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR (7.6 BIOS)
AMD Athlon XP 2800+ Barton
512MB (2x256MB) Samsung PC-2700 DDR memory (2.5-3-3-6 1T)
MSI 128MB GeForce4 Ti 4200 (4X AGP)
NVIDIA nForce on-board sound
Western Digital 80GB drive w/ 8MB cache
MSI X48 CD/CD-RW/DVD combo drive
Windows XP Professional SP1
PSU:
Turbolink 420watt (came with case)
+3.3V is 28A
+5V is 40A
+12V is 18A
So what happens is I get a STOP error during the game that shows the kmixer.sys driver as the culprit. Sometimes it's accompanied by PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA too. I read somewhere that kmixer.sys has to do with windows audio and that it's a 3rd party driver issue or a memory issue. I'm using the latest NVIDIA 3.13 nForce platform drivers. I ran Memtest lastnight for 12 hours straight and 0 errors. I'm thinking the memory may not be compatible with the board nor dual channel, is this possible? I have also tried several different drivers for both video and chipset including MSI's own and I still get the kmixer.sys BSOD when playing games. My previous motherboard was an MSI KT3 Ultra2-R (MS-6380E) which I had no issues with. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
--Update--
I just tried to play a game with audio disabled and it crashed this time with DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL with nv4_mini.sys as the problem. My IRQ table shows some sharing, but device manager shows no conflicts.Ok I tried running the DTM-CB3 module which is nForce2 approved at 3-4-4-11 2T timings and experienced the same result even at 2.6 and 2.7v. I tried both in dual-channel and same thing happened. However, I downloaded a program called Prime95 and ran the CPU torture test and the system returned a fatal error within the first few minutes. CPU Temp was at 57 C and the warning beep (set to 60C though) sounded intermittentley which is strange. I let it cool down then ran the torture test again and about 5min. later the system either seized completely or the program crashed. IE has also crashed randomly on me. I did this several times, before trying a different FSB/DRAM ratio. So I left the system at 200 FSB and used a 6:5 ratio so my memory was running at DDR333 and processor was a 3200+. I ran Prime95 again and the system locked up just as it did the other times. So after I did this a few times with consistent results. I went back and set the FSB to 166 and tried a 5:6 ratio so the memory was DDR400 and processor was the normal 2800+. I ran it again and to my suprise it passed all the tests and after an hour of this, I tried a game and that was perfectly fine as well. I checked the temps and CPU was only 45 C this time. So I'm thinking the processor can't handle anything above 50C or it's just plain overheating. I ordered a Thermaltake Silent Boost HSF today which is tested up to 3400+ so this should fix my problem. If not, then I'm going to replace the memory with a 512MB Geil PC3200 golden dragon dual-channel kit.

K7N2 Delta-L - RADEON 9800SE AiW Power Up Problem
SYSTEM:
K7N2 Delta-L ( BIOS updated to w6570nms.560 - v5.6 )
AMD 2600XP
512MB Crucial RAM
Adaptec SCSI 39160
Sapphire Radeon 9800SE AiW
Antec 480W True Power PSU
+5V ( 0A - 38A )
+12V ( 0.8A - 22A )
+3.3V 0A - 30A )
PROBLEM:
I've just got the Radeon card and installed it. Everything is connected fine inc. the extra power supply for the card. Now, when I switch on the PC, it only powers up for a split second and then everything shuts off. When I disconnect the extra power supply to the radeon card the PC boots up fine, except for a message from the card saying it needs power. Some other users on this forum had a similar problem.
So is this a problem with the K7N2 Delta-L board or with my Antec PSU ? Surely 480W and the above AMP output should be enough.
Anyone got a fix for this ?
THX for any help
P.S. I've also tried this card in an older PC ( ECS K7S6A - 1800XP - Qtec 550W ) and I didn't experience the problem above. The Antec PSU is fine, I tried different plugs and it still didn't work.
The Qtec PSU is fine as well but not as quite as the Antec.
I think the Antec PSU doesn't work because of its overloading protection. The Radeon card probably sucks quite some power when the PC is switched on.
I've spend the last two days finding an answer to my problem, and other users experienced a similar thing.
Oh well, guess I have to live with the loud Qtec for a while and in the meantime try to get an answer from Antec.
Thx -
K7N2 Delta-L: Strange cold boot problem & solution
My K7N2 Delta-L has a problem cold booting when the vcore is set in the bios at 1.65v of higher. After a cold boot, you get a blank black screen. I noticed that even if you run at default speeds but set the vcore to 1.65v of higher the problem still occurs. There is no problem rebooting however.
I found the following solutions:
1. After you power up and get a blank, hit the reset button.
2. Don't unplug your PC. My PC is connected to a AVR and after I power down the PC I usually turn the AVR off. If i do this, than the computer will have a booting problem if I try to boot it up 30 minutes later or so. Now if I don't unplug it/power off the AVR than everything is fine.
I don't understand why it acts the way it does though.
Does anyone know of any other solutions?Have you cleared the cmos. If you do be sure you have the power turned off don't move the cmos jumper with the power on.
I found that turning off power at power supply and unpluging, than turning on the computer the fans will spin just a little this drains all the power. Clear cmos 2-3 than return to
1-2 position.
Than plug the power back in and turn it back on, than try the computer again.
