K7N2 DELTA2 + 6600GT veyr slow frame rates...

Hi!
I just bought a Gigabyte 6600GT (I upgrade from a fx5700 Ultra) and I`m using it with a MSI K7N2 Delta 2 and I getting slow frame rates using old games like Formula 1 2002.  The extrange thing is that I use to play that game at full 60 fps with the old 5700 with fsaa4x (I saw similar sysconfigs in my friends pcs with relatively good speed)... Also I upgrade my PSU to an nspire 450w true power.  I used a lot of combination of nforce/forceware drivers with fresh installs but nothing.  The only speed up that I got is in benchmarks, for example Aquamark3 before (5700U): 29230, Aquamark After (6600GT) 45000, 3dmark03 before: 3200, after: 7800, pcmark05 after: 2100, before: 2992.  I`ll try a modded bios that I found here at the forums.
Any suggestions???
Here my sys specs:

  • Slow Frame Rates on Macbook Air

I play online games on my macbook air, and it always seems to have slower frame rates than my windows laptop (like 5-10 vs 20-30).  I'm guessing battery preservation, but does anyone know how to unlock this?

Yes SP, I play second life which has 3d graphics rendering.  I usually use mid-range graphics settings, and depending on where i am i use my macbook air or windows acer laptop.  I would expect the macbook air to be at least as fast (it is a newer machine as well as a mac!) but even winding down some of the more resource heavy settings i almost never get over 10 frames per second.  On the windows laptop, however, i am flying along at 25-30fps without any messing around. My screen resolution is 1440x900 - default i think on the macbook air?

  • Final cut pro slow frame rate

So whenever I import P2 files into an event I seen to have a slower frame rate during playback. the footage is good because it plays normally in the import media window but it will at a slower frame rate once imported. the video format is 720p 24 frames.

Where do you keep your projects and events? What are your system specs?

Ah well, yes...    the variables/options are:
lighting - this is the most commonly overlooked, and often the easiest to fix;  use/buy more/better lighting!
lensing - be sure you select a good quality lens (a good lens is more expensive but passes light better), and that the aperture is open as far as possible (unless you have depth of field issues)
exposure duration - as long as possible relative to framerate desired or to prevent blurring if motion involved
use of gain - this should be a last resort as "noise" increases with gain... but slight use of gain can be helpful under marginal lighting conditions

  • Intro Movie at slower frame rate when uploaded

The intro movie I created for my photography site plays too
slow when uploaded, thus making the music finish long before the
animation is done; needless to say, this makes for a very tacky
    intro!
Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks

The frame rate is always set to the "prefered" frame rate.
The actual frame rate depends on the server, the speed and the size
of the swf file. The best you can do is to fully optomise the
images before you import them into flash.
As you are into photography I can understand the need for
good quality images thefore it is a case of what do you prefer?
    Good images or good speed!

  • ISight + Slow Frame Rate

    Hello,
I have been using my isight daily for several months now, and have not had any problems. Two days ago I started experiancing very low framerates, but for my side of the video. I can see the other person clearly and at a good frame rate, but the other person gets a slide show. When I'm not connected I see everything clearly, but when in the video chat, the little window with me in it is also very slow. What can be done to stop this.
I chat with my girlfriend who has a powerbook with tiger so our set ups are almost identical.
Can you please tell me who is mostlikely causing this and what can be done to fix it.
    Thank you,
    Stanislav Jidkov

Hello rhondageske. Until you get a response from Stanislav Jidkov, here are a couple of other ideas you can consider.
If you have already tried all the relevant suggestions in How to get iChat AV working again without success, both you and your chat buddy whith whom you experience this problem should test with several others to be more certain which system has the problem. Only the system that has trouble connecting with several others will need to do the requisite troubleshooting work.
If you do not have enough available buddies for testing, see this list of Buddy Names for iChat Test for contact info for some users willing to help you test.
If your buddy uses a PC, and if testing shows the problem is with the PC end of the connection, your PC friend may need to tune his system, adjust his video quality and frame rate, or consider the other suggestions for the PC side of the connection in Mac Video Chat with PCs.

  • Mac os x plus quick cams using UVC = slow frame rates...

well i took your advice and picked up a logitech 9000 pro quickcam. this camera is uvc compatible and works out of the box on my macbook running 10.5.2.
the issue i am now having is that the uvc driver is bare bones and doesn't give any way to change the high resolution and low frame rate. the result is that the camera while very sharp gives unacceptable performance approaching 5 fps in any application including quicktime recording.
any ideas on how to resolve this annoyance? the uvc on the mac is unusable for me at this time because i communicate in American Sign Language and need normal smooth video that one gets with the built in i-sight.
    thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, I've not located any OSX drivers or software that allow higher framerates with standard UVC cams. There are a couple of options for you though - run bootcamp and run XP when you need to do signing, using the Windows software and drivers that came with your 9000. Or, buy an old Sony video camera, anything with firewire out will do, and are always available on eBay for about what you paid for the 9000.

  • Slow frame rate

    Hi,
I'm programing an application that basically It have one processor that save the buffers of his output in a linked list and it has a player that gets those buffers and show them. To get the Buffers of the processor i used a the DataSourceReader.java and tho show it with the player i used the DataSource.java and LiveStream.java.
The problem is that the processor is going 15 frames per second and the player is configured also to 15 fps but it only goes between 0,5 and 1 fps.
    Any idea ??
    Thanks!!

  • Re: Satellite X200-20F - Slow frame rate after BIOS update

    Hello!
I have a Satellite X200-20F bought about 4 years ago. I changed the bios into 2.70 recently and I got a problem when I play games:
The performance of the laptop decrease suddently after a couple of minutes of playing. For exemple, when I play +Fable 3+ or +Duke Nukem Forever+, the framrate goes to 10-15fps from 40-50fps. I need to restart the game to fix that, but even that, the problem come back...
Before I had the 1.40 version of the BIOS and no problems.
    What should I do?
    Do you have any advises?
    Thanks in advance,
    Best reguards.

    Hi Crowzer,
Im wondering that you have done a BIOS update if you had no problems before
I can only imagine that a BIOS setting is different now. So I would recommend loading the default settings in BIOS, then save & exit.
Also try updating your display driver. You can find the latest version on official Toshiba page too.

  • Slow motion 50% export H.264 MOV (at half frame rate)

    Hi,
I'm using a QuickTime MOV file (H.264, 1080p/59.94fps, 15 seconds) and have set slow motion to 50% (= 30 seconds).
Can anyone confirm that when I export this clip to 29.97fps I won't lose frames?
I have Compressor and think I found nearly all required settings except:
    - Key frames - shall I use automatic or 24 or what? (How can I find out what the original key frame value was?)
    - Frame reordering - shall I uncheck this option? (What does it mean? It's not in the manual.)
    Many thanks!

If you want to make absolutely sure you won't lose frames, you should manually set a project to 29.97fps, import your 60/59.94fps and conform the video (Retime menu > Conform Speed [the retime menu is the 2nd one from the left over the effects browser area/under the inspector area]). FCPX will automatically frame for frame adjust the video to fit to the slower frame rate.
Key frames (video compression, not animation):  a key frame is a complete image -- 100% pixels in use. Every frame between the key frames are only the parts of the image that change from the last frame (like Cel animation). Setting Automatic allows the software to make the best choices of when and where to create a complete frame. Otherwise, you can experiment with different values (up to All, which is pretty much no compression) to see what kinds of results you get and the overall quality (use very short pieces, like 5 -10 seconds.)  High motion areas in video are always going to be the most challenging with respect to compression (particularly bitrate), so... it's worth figuring out what settings you like that will give the best results (and 5-10second clips don't take that long to render.) I generally use Automatic and adjust the bitrates to give the best overall results (which occasionally requires testing segments.)
Frame reordering:  allows applications to "decompress" video frames in a different order than they are played, thereby allowing those apps that understand it a way to work faster. Larry Jordan suggests that this setting always be set for H.264 video (although I don't if I'm uploading to YouTube -- I try not to give YouTube any excuses for recompressing my video, so I try to have it already optimized before uploading... so far, it seems to be working.)

  • Belkin Pre-N F5D8230-4 v2, slow video frame rate

After years of faithful service from my D-Link DI-713P, the wired-ethernet switch (to which my iMac was connected) stopped working. I bought a new Belkin Pre-N F5D8230-4 v2 to replace it, and both the wired and wireless connections work fine... except with iChat. I can get a connection (e.g. to appleu3test01), but the frame rate is painfully slow. Running through the router, I get <15fps, <70kbps. Connected directly to my DSL modem through PPPoE, I get 30fps, >700kpbs; same performance as with my old D-Link router before it croaked. This seems to me to be a clear indication that the problem is the router, not my iMac, the DSL modem, or the ISP (SBCGlobal.net).
Things I have tried to solve the problem.
    1. Port mapping all the iChat TCP and UDP ports listed in numerous locations in this discussion group, Apple support, portforward.com, etc.
    2. Enabling UPNP with and without the port mapping enabled.
    3. Operating through DMZ.
    4. Unbind SIP from port 5060 (see Ralph Johns' very helpful site: http://www.ralphjohnsuk.dsl.pipex.com/page4.html#_text). I was not able to telnet into the router (connection refused), and I couldn't find any SIP configuration on the web interface to the router, so I actually didn't get to try this. I don't have VoIP, and I'm not aware that SBC offers it, so I doubt that this is the problem.
    5. Ensured that iChat ports are allowed in OS X firewall.
Any of these configurations enable me to make an iChat video connection, but all with slow frame rates.
One other bit of information that might be helpful to someone who understands all this a bit better than I is the entries that are generated in the Belkin firewall security log when I run iChat:
    DoS log:
2005-10-16 08:17:59 [HOST Attack: UDP Flood] (UDP) LAN to WAN 192.168.2.2:16384->17.202.39.141:16384 [Drop]
2005-10-16 08:17:59 [HOST Attack: UDP Flood] (UDP) WAN to LAN 17.202.39.141:16384->71.131.221.23:32784 [Drop]
2005-2005-10-16 08:18:00 [HOST Attack: UDP Flood] (UDP) LAN to WAN 192.168.2.2:16386->17.202.39.141:16386 [Drop]
2005-10-16 08:18:00 [HOST Attack: UDP Flood] (UDP) WAN to LAN 17.202.39.141:16386->71.131.221.23:33811 [Drop]
It would seem that the firewall considers the iChat traffic on 16384 and 16386 to be denial-of-service attacks. Shouldn't the port mapping prevent this? If this were the only problem, wouldn't operating in DMZ avoid this problem?
I have not yet tried changing the firmware version of the router, in part because there seems to be some confusion about what the latest version is: web site lists 1.01.03 with a date of September 2005, but my installed version is 2.00.06. Apparently a version 1.01.04 was released but then retracted, and 1.01.03 is from January 2005, not September. Revision control does not seem to be Belkin's strong suit. Right now I have nothing to lose, so loading 1.01.03 may well be my next step.
    Some configuration details:
    iMac, PowerPC G4 (3.3), 1.25 GHz, 768 MB RAM, 167 MHz bus
OS: OS X 10.3.9 with all security updates as of 2005-10-16
connection method: SBCGlobal ADSL through Speedstream 5260 ADSL modem through Belkin FSD8230-4 router through ethernet to iMac
connection speed: 1214 kbps down, 306kpbs up
    software: iChat 2.1 (v153)
    camera: Canon ELURA70
    Router info:
         Firmware Version 2.00.06
         Boot Version 1.00.00
         Hardware F5D8230-4 v2
Is anyone getting good performance with iChat and this model Belkin router? Any other clever configuration ideas to try?
    - Fry -

    Hi Ralph,
Thanks for the reply. I re-read your page on SIP and realize that it was a modem (not router) issue after I posted. Dohh! Thanks for being so polite.
I agree that the DoS seems like the key, and hopefully the specific security log messages will facilitate useful feedback from the Belkin tech support folks to whom I sent a copy of my post.
I tried turning on WAN Ping Blocking - no change. The System Settings tab allows me to set the password, date/time, and enable/disable of remote management, NAT, UPNP, and auto-update for the firmware. Of those I have only switched UPNP on and off. Unfortunately there is nothing on packet size settings anywhere that I could find.
I tossed the packaging for the router, so I may not be able to return it easily. If this is the case, and Belkin (or someone in the forum) doesn't come through with a solution, I was thinking of buying an inexpensive wired router to connect between the modem and the iMac, and also run the Belkin off of the wired router for wireless access. Are there well-known problems daisy-chaining routers like this?
The obvious alternative would be to sell the Belkin (to some non iChat user) and replace it with something known to work well with iChat. I read a recommendation for the Netgear DG834G in another posting, which could also take the place of my Speedstream modem (although there is nothing wrong with it). Any other recommendations from this wise community?
For the time being I am switching between the router routine tasks and direct-to-modem with PPPoE for iChat. Not elegant, not easy to teach to spouse, but it works.
    Cheers,

  • Different frame rate in movie mode? iPhone 4

I noticed that my iPhone shoots video clips with different frame rate from time to time. I suppose it slows frame rate on dark shots. For now all of my daylight shots are 30 fps, while night or dark ones are 25 and 24. This makes it hard to edit clips in iMovie for example, because difference in frame rate causes strobe motion effect on output.
    Anybody have the same?
For reliable results I would suggest to shoot two clips: one in sunny daylight conditions, another with ordinary room lightning, maybe a little darker than normal.
Please let me know of the results. Thanks

Doesn't seem to be just a Quicktime bug:

  • Video frame rate change from video to video

    HI all ,
when I use labview 2013 I found some strange in acquiring avi video
when I acquire video from my computer the fps change from video to another one
some video fps reach 800 fps and other reach 180 fps what is the problem

A lower frame rate is actually expected behavior if you are playing video through LabVIEW. This KB explains that LabVIEW analyzes the video one frame at a time and keeps it in the system memory on the CPU.  This can result in slower frame rates during playback. If you would like to simply view video through your front panel, it may be a good idea to embed Windows Media Player in the VI through an ActiveX control.

  • Video doesn't slow when added to timeline of different frame rate

I'm having trouble understanding what's going on here.  I have a video shot at 59.94 fps, and I add it to a sequence that is set at 29.97 fps.  It plays back normally which makes sense if premiere is dropping frames by 1/2, but the drop frame indicator says that it isn't dropping frames.  The clip also runs the same length.  The interpret frame rate for the clip in the project window says 59.94 fps, so if it's added to a sequence that is set at 29.97 fps and it's NOT dropping frames, shouldn't it be slowed down?

OK cool thank you very much.  So I've been doing some research to figure out the best way to edit this project.  The problem is that I have some GoPro videos shot at 1080X1920 and 59.94 fps and some at 480X840 and 240 fps.  But the catch is I want to make the final product work well for Youtube.  This is how I feel I should go about getting the best quality for my final video.
    1.  Set the sequence settings to 720X1280 (which is what I will export as so that the 480X840 doesn't loose as much quality compared to having to resize up to 1080X1920 to match the other clips).  I don't think there's much quality loss in down-scaling the 1080X1920 to 720X1280 (if any, or is there?), so it's kind of a happy medium for both frame sizes that I have and it's still good for Youtube.
    2.  Apparently Youtube really works well with 29.97 fps, so this is what I will set the sequence frame rate at.
**Another side question I have is what if my sequence frame rate is set at 29.97fps and I interpret the frame rate of a 59.94fps clip as 29.97fps and add it to the sequence.  Now if I use the rate stretch tool to speed up the now slowed down clip to 200% so that it plays at normal speed.  Will Premiere remove frames to speed up the clip or does it really increase the rate of the frames so that I don't loose any frames?**  My guess is if I export at 29.97fps it will remove half of the frames.
Is it not possible to have an exported movie clip that contains multiple frame rates?

  • What is the suggested frame rate to record in for fast / slow motion processing from a clip recorded

I want to create a video however I only have 1 dslr camera and I want the ability to post process the clips I record to be either in slow motion or fast motion. I don't want to have to record something in 24fps then 60fps. is there an ideal frame rate for both. What are some of the best practices for this in regards to recording and post processing in Premiere Pro.
Example of fast and slow video. Thanks.
    http://vimeo.com/75259949

The ideal is to shoot in different frame rates, one for real time footage and one for fast or slow motion clips.  This is called under and overcranking.  It means you have to decide when shooting whether the clip will be real time or not.
Less than ideal is to shoot everything at one frame rate and then slow it down or speed it up later.  It's less than ideal because the effect is never as perfect as the ideal method.  Especially in PP, which does not do very well with slow motion to the point I recommend using After Effects instead.  (At least with 24 fps media.)
On a side note, you can help solve the horrible slow-motion problem:
