K7n2 delta2 platinium APIC enabled...

...youre all talking about enable/disable apic in bios....but i cant find it!!!!! can someboy tell me, where it is in bios? thanks.

You know, I have the same mobo, and can't find it either in BIOS.
For KT6 Delta it is under Advanced BIOS Features, but that doesn't help any of us. I had a heck of a problem getting a SoundBlaster Live to function on the K7n2 - had to move it physically, which shouldn't be necessary.
APIC Automatic Programmable Interrupt Control, makes it possible to have many more devices sending interrupt requests to the processor, so the device can do something it very much would like to.
Another question, to you, teapack. I entered SafeMode to have a look at my Device Manager, and found 20 instances of ACPI. It doesn't matter much, but one can wonder how come. Do you have the same?

  • K7N2 Delta2 Platinium - System freezes when copying or writing to HDD

I am experiencing a strange problem. I don't know what I have changet to my system but since 3 days ago I am geting this system lock up when I move or copy files from one HDD to another. Windows doesn't show any error message. When copying files, either in the midle of the proces or at the end the system LOCKS UP  and there is nothing i can do except a hot restart. I never had this problems and it was months that my computer was very stable. I have no ide how to test to get some info about this issue. Any opinions ?
    Thanx

The tems are cool. CPU varies from 44°(idle) to 58° celcius (full load). Motherboard also 35° celcius. Now i dont know whats the start but let me tell the whole story. First of all i have this system since long time ago. Normally i install the computer once, than I optimize the system as i want it to be and than i back it up. Now Since i have all my programs installed in the way i want i dont like to reinstall the computer often, because it will take me two week to complete all the tweaks and changes that i do normally. So this system that is now runing has passed to three different motherboards (computer changes). Maybe the process of installing and reinstalling drivers in the system has degraded it. I am very carefull to clean drivers, registry and all. Although the system shows now errors, about 7 months ago i used to suffer system freezes when burning DVD. I couldn't resolve the issue since the problem was Nero being victim of SERVICE PACK 2. Anyway i have read that Windows XP SP has some Buffer and Cache problems and it makes conection with the burning problems. Since then i don't know how, after some times the burning problem disappeared ... i could burn DVD with the same version of NERO and everything was fine untill 3 days ago  . So i got the new NERO 7 with its new EXTRA BUFFER feature whitch works fine. Soon after installing NERO 7 one of my HDD crashed (i dont thing it has any conection with nero), it lost the partition table and it was recognised as UNALLOCATED. I recovered all the datas using a software calle R-Studio (very good by the way it can recover FDISK, Format, Delete, everything). After i had reformated the drive that crashed, I copyed back all the rescued files. Its there that the Copy Hang Ups started. WINDOWS doesn't show any ERROR at all, that means that there is no controller or HDD problem. I checked the drive and its fine. What reasured me that the drive was not the cause, was that even when i started copying between the other drives of my system i got the same problem.  So maybe my system is in a very very bad shape, or i dont have a clue of this thing        What is strange its that WINDOWS DOESN'T SHOW ANY ERROR MESSAGE, and PRIME STRESS TEST GOES ON FOR HOURS WITHOUT THE SMALLEST PROBLEM.
Thanx Dr. Stu I also tried copying at stock speed and i got the same problem.

  • K7N2 Delta2 Platinium sound noise

    Hi everybody.
I am geting noise all the time from my speakers. I am using the onboard sound card. The noise is like some kind of interference and it gets very audible if the volume is up. I reinstalled the drivers but the noise is still there. Any one had this problem and can give me some help ..??
    Thanx .

    Quote from: Psycho@ on 22-September-05, 02:34:51
Speakers configuret correctly and the noise is still there. I didnd have this with the old motherboard. as soon as i changet it is present like a faint whining all the time even if i MUTE ... the strange thing is that if i play smth the noise stops i can hear music see film no prob 2 sec after the music or the audio is finished the interference starts.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... the no audio signal whine or buz, is that correct?
Check the LINE IN volume, if it is all the way up, reduce it to zero or mute it and see if it goes away. You only need line in if it is being used for an input of some type. I do get just a touch of a static whine if my volume is turned all the way up, there is no audio being played and LINE IN volume is turned up because I have my ATI AIW plugged into the LINE IN port but do not need line in volume control active unless I am recording an external source.
If that does not fix it... try the following:
If the noise is still there and you are testing with NON external amplified speaker system or a set of NON external amplified headphones, it is possible one of your fans could be noisy, the PSU is noisy OR the circuit in your house the computer is plugged into has noise on it.
You can open the tower with the system on and the noise present in the speakers and carefully unplug the tower fans one at a time and leaving them unplugged, unplug the Northbridge fan… then finally (and this has to be done quickly and only for about 10 seconds or less) the CPU fan. When all fans have been eliminated and there is still noise, then it is possible the PSU, the fans in the PSU or the house current itself has a bad ground or a noisy device running, such as a pump or AC unit, bleeding noise into the line the computer is plugged into.

  • K7N2 Delta2 Platinium: Gigabyte Lan problem

I finally got new mainboard and got it working like 1½ hours ago. I started to see that the lan, witch Gigabit MCP Chipset's: 10/100/1000 lan killed my internet connection less than an hour. Messenger went offline, mailservers and other servers totally unreachble. Some activity did happened according my firewall ( Sygate Personal Firewall ) but I couldn't connect anywhere. So I rebooted and it all worked fine, until less than hour went by and it did it again, so, I changed my old ethernet adapter that is working fine now...
But what the heck? How come my Lan just wouldn't work? Is it system? Known bug? Anything would be appreciated...

Does he have the same memory config.? Try uising only one, or two if they are bought in a pair. I think it is the slots 1 and 3 you use for the dual channel.
What slot do you use for the ethernet and sound cards? Slot 5/6 and slot 3 resp. would be the best, I think. Have a go without the sound card altogether, if you want to.
I like your system, esp. the outside of it. That is a very good case for the money!    You know you can let the mobo adjust fan speed according to temps.? Dampening is almost unnecessary if you use that control. I use a Spire processor fan adapted to an Adda 120 mm fan. Have no intake fan. - I can hear the birds walking around in the garden outside. And, what's more, I hear the worms they are looking for.

  • [SOLVED] K7N2 Delta2-LSR Everything works but OpenGL Apps.

    Hello Folks.
Interesting problem I have never run into before.  Recently upgraded to the K7N2 Delta2-LSR MB, and everything works great except for any opengl based application, which just crashes out.  But first a list of the system specs, then a detailed explaination of everything I have done.
    MB: K7N2 Delta2-LSR
    BIOS: Award vB.6 (11.6)
CPU: AMD Athlon 1333Mhz (Don't know which core, sorry) 133MhzFSB x10
RAM: (2) 256M DDR266 (No brand name, Samsung memory chips)
(Dont have memory timings handy, but will get if needed. Using By SPD in bios)
Video: Chaintek GeForce 6600GT (nvidia gefore 6600gt chipset)
    PSU: Logisys Computer PS 550A-BK 550w (+3.3v/30A +5v/38A +12v/25A)
HDD: IBM 20GB IDE (Can get full on model if needed)
Audio: Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS Platiumn (removed during testing)
OS: Windows 2000 SP4 (Fresh Install, latest MSI MB drivers from support site)
Okay i think that is all the relavent system specs, if anyone needs more I will be happy to provide.
    Software used to test:
Direct3D: Rose Online (game), dxdiag 3D tests
OpenGL: Doom3 (game), Luna (nVidia Demo), Nalu (nVidia Demo), Dusk (nVidia Demo), Windows OpenGL screen savers
The Issue:  OpenGL application crash during startup, normally in the nvoglnt.dll file.  System completely stable otherwise.  Windows 2D applications work fine.  Direct3D applications work fine.  I am using the latest stable nvidia drivers 84.21.  I have also tested with the following previous driver versions 81.85, 81.95, 81.98 and with the beta drivers 84.25, 84.43, 91.28, 91.31.  During this test I also used a MSI 6600GT card from a known good working system.  Putting the Chaintek in the working system, verified the card was good.  It worked no problem.  Putting the known good MSI card in place of the Chaintek in non-working system, OpenGL applications still crash.  I believe at this point I have ruled out both video card and drivers as a culprit.  I have a clean install of Win2K SP4 on the machine with latest MSI MB drivers.  I have also tested with a clean install of WinXP upgraded to SP2, with latest MSI MB drivers, Same Result.  The ram I have tryed in both Single and Dual channel modes.  I have removed one stick and ran the system with just 256MB ram.  I also swapped that stick with the other one per chance it was one of the ram sticks.  Though they had been running fine previously for years in the system without incident until the MB upgrade.  Also if I had bad ram I would expect to have general system instability across the board, not just opengl apps.  As a last resort I hung the HDD off my known good working system, even though it has an ASUS nForce2 chipset MB.  When it booted up,   All applications ran fine. DIrect3d and OpenGL.  At this point in the game I feel I have ruled out software and video drivers as the culprit.
I've never really run into a problem like this before and am beginning to suspect that something is wrong with the motherboard itself.  I just wanted to bounce this issue off the brainpower here at the forums, before I contact the place I bought it from for an RMA.
So I guess this all boils down to is, has anyone else ever had this issue and resolved it?  Or, does anyone have any other troubleshooting ideas I can try?  Thank you for all your time and consideration in this matter.

    BOSSKILLER,
I agree but first we need to get APIC enabled with a Fresh Install of WinXP.
    Richard
yes APIC must be enabled and OS installed after it. my reply was add-on after yours.

    Richard,
The install is already on its way.  The XP install has an option for a quick format, so it's not as long as if I did a full one (thank goodness).  I've got a copy of memtest86 on one of my diag cd's around here.  I'll go ahead and let that run overnight when I go to bed.
    Bosskiller,
It is BIOS version B6 aka 11.6.  It came on the board by default.  I dont recall seeing an Nvidia/ATI speedup option, but it may be one of those hidden ones you have to press a series of hotkeys to see, so I will check.     I will let you know more, once this reinstall is completed.
yes Nvidia/ATI speedup option is hidden("SHIFT+F2","ALT+F3")
"I'll go ahead and let that run overnight when I go to bed."
hmm not good idea, couse that will take alot of time which is no need really, make 20 passes on Test Number 5 only in memtest, then leave SP2004 or Prime95 (Large'FFTs in Blends).
But at all think there is not instability issues or you may have it but that is not couse the your problem. becouse instability is random, you are already running Direct3D base application and problems must exist there also if you have big instability, but that is not happend. if stress tests detected instability issues than will mean that you have more than one problem.

  • How to boot from SATA on a K7N2 Delta2 Platinum

    Hi guys,
here is my problem, I've just bought a brand new HD Samsung SATA II 2504C, once connected to the MB I can' t boot from it, even if I change the boot sequence.
I have already two HDs connected to IDE ports, under XP I can format it, I can even install a Linus distro such as Elive, but it refuses to boot.
    Is there a trick?
    K7N2 Delta2 Platinum
    BIOS: B5 1/20/2005
    AMD 3000+
    2 HDs UMDA 133
2 DVD writer LG and SAMSUNG
1 HD on SATA, which causes me troubles.

disable IDE RAID and ensure SATA is enabled in BIOS
disconnect any other IDE HDDs before you install Windows to your SATA drive; they can be reconnected again afterwards.
make sure that the SATA drive is listed first in 'Hard Disk Priority' under 'Boot Order' in BIOS

  • RAID1 issues on K7N2 Delta2-LSR

I originally started down the road of trying to setup a RAID0 with two new WD Raptors and discovered one was bad - WinXP Pro install fails on SATA RAID K7N2 Delta2-LSR
So I continued on with installing WinXP on the remaining Raptor and figured I could setup a RAID1 array when the replacement Raptor arrived.  Today, I popped in the replacement Raptor on the SATA2 controller, booted into WinXP, and confirmed the new drive was recognized.  I could see the new drive in Disk Management and all looked good.
I rebooted into bios, enabled the RAID Config on SATA Primary and SATA Secondary, saved and exited.  Upon reboot, I was able to go into the nVidia RAID setup (F10).
The NVIDIA RAID UTILITY - Array List showed one Mirror 74G array with a Status of Degraded.  I hit [Enter] Detail and [A] Add to add the new hard drive to the array.  Then I selected [R] Rebuild which didn't seem to do anything (no HD activity), but the Array List reported the array Status as Healthy.  I never went through the process of defining a new array where drives are added from the left to the right side of the Define New Array screen since the Array List initially showed one Mirror 74G array, which is what I wanted.
I exited [Ctrl-X] Exit and the array failed to boot.  The NVIDIA BIOS section "Detecting array..." failed to detect the array.  Rebooting confirmed the same.
To make matters worse, I couldn't get into Bios (Delete) or the NVIDIA Setup (F10).  I had to unplug the second Raptor to get into the Bios, upon which I disabled the RAID Config.  My original Raptor remains intact with WinXP.
I would have figured that a mirrored array could be created on the fly from a master hard drive - is this not the case?
How do I go about fixing this problem since now I cannot connect the second Raptor and get into Bios/NVIDIA Setup?  Does the BIOS need to be reset?
Again, any help would be greatly appreciated!

I initially thought a change in direction of the topic belonged in a new thread, but I see the value in keeping it all together.  I'll keep everything from this point out in the 3rd thread.
1st thread - WinXP Pro install fails on SATA RAID K7N2 Delta2-LSR - due to bad HD
    2nd thread - RAID1 issues on K7N2 Delta2-LSR - this thread
    3rd thread - Bad K7N2 Delta2-LSR?

  • Labtech: K7N2 Delta2 Question?

    Hi labtech,
I d/l the manual, and wondering if some of the recent booting/posting problems here have been caused by the CPU Interface set to Optimal instead of Aggressive, the latter opening up more FSB opportunities? As well, some may not have set CPU voltage high enough for their FSB wishes. Just some guesses.

Hi Xroyal. For best results with my K7N2 Delta2 Platinum I use manual settings and set cpu interface to aggressive when running my Barton XP2500+ at 200Mhz FSB (400Mhz DDR). The settings I use are as follows:-
    High Performance Mode:Manual
    Dynamic Overclocking:Disabled
CPU Voltage:1.7V (the default is 1.65V)
    Memory Voltage:2.7V (auto)
    AGP Voltage:1.5V
    Adjust CPU Frequency: 200Mhz
    Adjust CPU Ratio:CPU Default
    CPU Interface:Aggressive
    Adjust DRAM Frequency:Auto
Memory Timings:Manual-11,2,2,2.5 (equivalent to 8,2,2,2 if you have CAS 2.0 memory)
    Adjust AGP Frequency:Default
Using the above settings with the B30 bios (I found the B40 bios unstable with my hardware) produce a memory speed of 1507Mb/sec according to a Memtest 86+ v 1.25 boot disk. This is equivalent to a DDR speed of 3000+Mb/sec which is where it should be for a Nforce2 Ultra400 motherboard with my hardware at 200Mhz FSB (400Mhz DDR) with dual channel enabled and cpu interface on aggressive. An Abit NF7-S revision 2.0 is 1511Mb/sec with the latest bios by way of comparison with the same settings. If CPU interface is disabled or set to optimal the score drops to just over 1400Mb/sec. The 3D Mark01 score with my Asus 9600XT with cpu interface on aggressive is 13467 with CATS 4.10. If the cpu interface is disabled or on optimal the score drops to 13124. You can still use Core Cell to overclock or to reduce overclocking within Windows using manual settings if you wish. Finally if you want to overclock this board I recommend checking under the north bridge heat sink to make sure thermal compound is present in sufficient quantity. Mine had only a tiny drop under there. I also fitted a heat sink on the south bridge as this can get very hot under load.

  • K7N2 Delta2-LSR Single SATA hard drive set up

OK, I've set up system described in signature, and followed advice posted in this forum.
Enabled RAID, set up single drive raid array, did the F6 thing and installed windows without any problem.
I intended to disable raid in BIOS but when I do the system does not find a hard drive to boot from.
The only two hard drive boot priority options are array (when enabled) and add-on cards (none)
At some stage during the set up I did see my sata h/d in BIOS as well as the raid array.  It may have been on IDE Channel3 Master but not there now.
I'm now thinking of deleting my array using RAID BIOS-F10 but I am concerned not having much experience of raid.
In particular, will BIOS see my hard drive as it only sees an array now.
    Is my only option?
I'd hate to re-install windows and my applications again.  If it come to that, I could live with current situation.
    Thanks Dave

just noticed, your sig lists "K7N2 Delta2-LSR" while your topic title lists "K7N2 Delta-LSR". there is a fundametal difference, hence the confusion
the old Delta's had the Promise controller for SATA / RAID, as nvidia chipset at time had no native support. now newer nvidia nforce chipsets do. what i described above is correct for Delta, but what you have discovered is correct for Delta2: for single drive, disable IDE RAID, and SATA drive is listed as an IDE device

  • K7n2 delta2-fsr and 2600+ Barton o/c problem!

Hi my system consist's of :
    Athlon xp 2600+ Barton
    k7n2 delta2-fsr ( B3 bios)
2*256 Twin Mos cl 2.5 Dual channel
    GForce4 MX 440
    ASUS 300w (+3.3V-> 28A, +5V -> 30A, +12V -> 18A)
The problem is that i can't go stable above 178 FSB whatever the Vcore is!
The cpu temperature seems to be low enough ( 38 idle)
With my previous mb i had reached easy 192 with the same processor.
    The DOT is disabled!
    Any ideas?

    set nvmm enabled
    set fsb:ram 1:1
    agp to 68mhz
    nv/ati speedup leave auto
    cpu interface set to normal
    give nesesery CPU Vcore...
set DIMM Vcore at minimum 2.70
leave memory timmings to optimised if you dont know what to set.
start from memtest86 to be sure its memory probs. make sure there is no errors at test number five.
start increase DIMM Vcore if errors is detected till 3.0V its safe mobo is dimm is undervolted after 2.9V isnt give actual core what is suppose to be. let we know how its going.
make sure 1st that you dont have any memory fabric malfuction. this can be done by testing one stick then test other stick with memtest86.
at all i think that your CPU want more Vcore to be stable when you change FSB to higher. set CPU Vcore to 1.85V to be sure.(standart cooler can handle it) or best way is to lower multipler and set FSB to 200FSB to test memory if toyr CPU is unlocked.
First of all i'have already tested my cpu and the rams with my previous mobo,so unless this mb has a problem i should go up to 192fsb without any problem!
Now i can't understand why should i raise the Vdimm since the ram runs at lower frequency than the deefault?
Anyway i'll try all you say above and let's hope that everythimg will go ok!
    Thanks

  • K7N2 Delta2-LSR S2K Bus disconnect support ?

Does anybody know if there is built in support for S2K Bus disconnect in K7N2 Delta2-LSR? I've read numerous posts on the Internet, that enabling this feature helps dropping down Athlon XP temps by 6-10 degrees. However, I could not find such option in the BIOS, so I had to use a software utility to do that. It works, but I'm not sure if it has side effects, and it's definitely not the most...elegant solution...
And my other question is: Does this board have support for the internal CPU thermal diode ? As I was assembling my system, I found an external thermal sensor in the CPU Socket, while there is no such in other nForce 2 boards... I've heard thet these external sensors are not accurate at all, and that the actual core temperature is higher by 10-15 degrees...Is that true?

    kamelot:
I use Speedfan to monitor the temperatures of K7N2-Delta2-LSR. After Speedfan detects the sensors in K7N2-Delta2 and if you go to Configure->Advanced->Chip:Winbond83627THF, you will see that Thermal Sensor Diode 2 corresponds to "PII diode", which means that it is most probably connected to the internal thermal diode of the processor. The thermal fluctuations with the processor load is instantaneous and steep on this sensor, which tells me that it is  indeed the internal diode. Otherwise, there should have been some detectable lag between the thermal response and processor load. I could not find any direct reference to this information but this is what I found by testing and experimenting with Speedfan.
Regarding the accuracy issue, the absolute temperature value can be off but the delta temperatures should be correct. In the end, absolute temperature reading is just a voltage plus/minus a reference value, reference can change and so the temperature reading. My idle CPU temperature is lower than System temperature, which I think is not correct. But I do not mind this so much because the loaded CPU temperature is about 15C higher then idle and I believe this is the sign of efficient CPU cooling.

I have K7N2 Delta2-LSR with SATA 160GB drive and CD burner connected as primary master.
When I'm connecting any IDE hard disk, the mainboard detects it corectly, but I'm not able to boot from SATA drive.
I tried to turn off IDE drive detection in BIOS (set [None] instead of [Auto]) and SATA boots!!! And Windows XP and Linux can see both disks!!!
Is it a BUG in BIOS?

    FSB333, DDRAM 512MB/400
PSU 350W, works stable with 2 HDs and CDRW.

Strange my board boots fine from SATA with a PATA HDD connected. XP and Linux will see any disks connected to the motherboard and powered up in your system even if disabled in the bios apart from those connected to a separate raid controller which should be enabled. Both these operating systems address the hardware directly once their drivers are loaded so will ignore the settings you have in the bios. This behaviour is normal and not a bios bug. The main boot disk has of course to be enabled in the bios for the boot loader to operate. The boot priority with the new south bridge is PATA first followed by SATA and XP uses this too. To ensure that XP boots from SATA properly the PATA drive must be disconnected during the install process. You also need to ensure that the SATA disk is the only active partition connected to your system. If the PATA disk has been used to boot an operating system previously there may still be an active partition present on the drive. If that is the case removing the active partition should cure the problem but if the present arrangement works for you then fine.

  • @Klondike K7N2 Delta2 Platinum, new owner.

    Hi.
I am kinda old but maybe not as old as you  . Experience before...
Much regard to your efforts for writing some exhaustive information on the MSI K7N2 Delta2 Platinum. I think I would be more than completely lost without your help http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/here-vp624299.html#624299. Now at least my system is running.
I have some specific points, and please forgive me if I'm asking something you may have answered. Got kids running around, that kind of thing. Have to run out and pick up milk in a minute, life is busy, you get it... sure? Any links are helpful too.
The existing server had an XP software raid (hack some dm* files a bit, there is a toms hardware article on it here http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/windowsxp-make-raid-5-happen,925-2.html on a Shuttle AN35 Ultra 400 and a Barton Athlon XP 2600+ 0343.
But it's a barebones board so I thought I would 'Upgrade' the file server with an 'everything' board. Enter the K7N2 Delta2 Platinum. Enter also a 0310 2500+ which I patched the mobile jumper for fun and cut all of L6. The NFORCE2 seems to ignore these settings, and swapping in the 2600+ completely stock doesn't seem to change anything below:
Questions I have which I have not got answered yet (and running 1/20/2005 bios the board came with): I can't adjust the vCore! I can only set it in the bios but not in Windows, where I have 8rdavcore - this dynamically lowered my FSB and vcore when the system was idle. 8rdavcore lists the board but there is no driver in the drop-down: this is not the giveio.sys driver mentioned on the home page, it is a driver to interface with the vcore and other settings on the board.
With your recommendations klondike the system at least boots reliably. Already I am disappointed in the MSI versus the Shuttle for this reason alone, no vcore and the settings seem really picky in the MSI Bios. The shuttle though had a periodic problem with crashes which I never figured out. LC 6420GP 80plus PS, ATI 9250 AGP, Team Value memory (identical in timing to the Value memory in your post Klondike), 3ware 9500S-8 hardware raid, NEC USB 5 port USB card and a 3com 10/100, all moved to the new system, with the 3ware newly introduced replacing the software raid. Removes the annoying rebuild when the system crashes out, prevents major disk data glitches.
I want this system to dynamically underclock, but as yet, I cannot adjust the vcore down. For example, Corecenter, or nTune, has the field for vcore and other values, but except for FSB, they are locked, and 8rdavcore log shows it cannot load the driver. The Shuttle went to under 100 fsb with a low voltage dynamically, I think vcore 1.25 with the Athlon XP Barton 2600+, and run super-cool and use about 75 watts of power vs 110w.
    Any ideas?

Came back to the machine, swapped back in the Athlon XP Barton 2600+, took a look in the BIOS (don't know if I changed anything, probably), and now the vCore is greyed out again in 8rdavcore. "No ATXP1 found."
Edit: I used the CMOS jumper to reset settings several times to no effect.
Sorry I did not get the log when it was working. I will next time!  I assume where it says "not responding" has something to do with the problem.

  • Problems errors ram with cpu vcore change on k7n2 delta2 platinum

    hello
i'm a french new owner of k7n2 delta2 platinum and i got something strange.
I have 2*512 PC3200 cas3 of kingston value ram with voltage 1.75 instead of 1.6v running in dual CAS 2.5/3/3/8 at FSB 195 like the cpu : 2500xp barton.
With occt and memtest86+ i'm stable with a CPU vcore at 1.725.After 195 the computer starts but not really stable. So i put the cpu vcore at 1.75 to put higher fsb and then i get thousands RAM errors with memtest. i tried with cas 3/3/3/11 and it was worst. On the bios B6 i tried with different settings : agressive, optimal, 1/1, auto, manual, patch ddr or not...and always the same. My PSU is 450w and i've 4 HD 1player 1 burner.
Of course i'm happy to reach 195 but i feel disapointed to be stop with this problem of vcore/ram

"...So i put the cpu vcore at 1.75 to put higher fsb and then i get thousands RAM errors with memtest..." I would say it's not the v. core but the CPU o/c. that gives that errors, as it make not sence to increase v.core only for itself.
    Oh yes it does
The CPU and memory work hand-in-hand. If one is out of sync it can cause the other to start spitting out errors.
You are overclocking and that more of a scientific art, not an exact science.
Components react differently to an entire list of variables, especially the CPU/memory.
What you are trying to do requires trail and error testing however I agree the Kingston memory is holding you back at this point with the clock you are pushing
I would go for the most stable FSB settings that allow Dynamic Overclock to be enabled to SERGEANT before I would go for ultra High FSB because you will peak the system at its highest performance curve when you need the boost, and I would bet money that peak would be higher than any strait FSB over-clock you can hit stable.
Psychologically allot of people think their systems are not running the highest performance it can unless they set the system up at the highest FSB/multiplier and that is simply not true with dynamic overclocking enabled and correctly tuned with the rest of the components.

  • [nForce] K7N2 Delta2 Platinum will not boot up

i have a new K7N2 Delta2 Platinum, a new computer case,  and just looking to transfer my old hard drive that was on my old mobo to this new mobo and computer case. I am running XP pro w/sp2. i have installed a new dvd burner and a new cd burner. these items where not previously connected to old pc.  I have a MSI-FX5500 video card installed as well. now keep in mind that i already have my old hard drive with XP pro on it, when i go connect all the devices and power on the pc, i am able to go into the bios, it recognizes my 2gigs of corsair memory, my hard drive is recognized, both my cdr/w and my dvdr/w drives are recognized, however, when it starts to load XP from my hard drive, a very quick blue screen comes and goes and i am unable to read the error message. I was wondering is there anyway to slow down or freeze the screen so that I can read the error message? Also, more information about the setup, since i am unable to load XP pro that i already have on my hard drive, I am unable to install the software drivers for either the motherboard or the video card....... Any point of direction would be greatly appreciated. I have built several computers from the ground up before and this is the first time I have ran into this problem........ thanks

    Asus dvd burner
    Asus cdr/w drive
    Windows XP Pro SP2

since the hard drive was set up on your old mobo then it'll not work straight off on the new one as the details in the registry will be different. One way around it is to boot up off the xp cd and select to install xp and then when it finds your old install on the drive select repair the old installation and this should sort it and will keep all your data thats saved on there.
Once into windows remember to uninstall ALL the old drivers and install all the new ones or problems will arrise and force you into doing a full fresh install.
