Hello,
Do you have another video card to try?
Check the memory, remove it and put it back in.
Were you overclocking anything.
Could it be a weak power supply?
If you have a look on the power supply you will find a sticker with the following infomation arrange in a grid/table.
eg
400W
+12v = 18a
+5v = 32a
+3.3v = 28a

  • K7n2 ilsr boot sequence problem

    Hi All,
I have problem with my new k7n2 ilsr mobo. I have a Seagate 120 GB SATA HDD on the SATA RAID controller, and other HDD-s on the IDE1 and IDE2.
If the SATA drive is alone in the system, it boots up normally, but if I connect the PATA drives, the computer want to boot from the first PATA drive.
How can I set up the boot sequence between the SATA and PATA?
I cant find any option in the BIOS.
I hope, somebody can resolve my problem.

  • K7N2-ILSR booting noise

Every time when I cold boot my system (which is power offed for couple hours) there always a big noise like something blocked the fans. but i checked all my fans except the power fan and couldn't find the problem. normally after around 20 second the noise would gone. and if i restart the system right after i heard the noise or reboot after windows, there is no noise anymore. could anyone help me out? thanks!

In my experience this grinding noise is one of two things:
Most common is the Hard drive grind - the discs spin up on spindles and over time they can become mis-aligned from wear and the spindle is what is actually making the noise...this DOES usually lead to eventual hard drive failure...
Second most common is the same concept on one of your fans in the case...could be any of them except that now it's the ball bearings that are wearing or the track they're moving in...if you find that none of your fans are causing the issue then most likely you're heading for a hard drive crash...
Much like Topper2003 I've seen some of these drives live for a long long time...it's a crapshoot tho so I myself usually get a new hard drive and move anything important to the newer drive as a backup...then again I have 4 systems and everything I have is duplicated on multiple drives anyway...

  • K7N2 ILSR random re-booting

    Hi all
    Specs..
    K7N2 ILSR Delta
    AMD Athlon XP2800+
    512 mb Kingston Ram
    Nvidia Ge force FX 5700
    IDE:
    Master: Maxtor 160gb
    Slave: WD 80 gb
    Serial ATA: Maxtor 120gb
    Roms:
Master: Lite on DVD Dual layer writer
    Slave: Hitachi DVD rom
    550w Psu
    Windows XP pro
Problem.  Started out with a K6 mobo, all went well but after a week PC failed and I had to re-install Windows.  Then started getting random shutdowns, initially only when using DVD Shrink but then all of the time until Windows crashed out again!
Went through re-install and some diagnostics and eventually changed mobo for this one, K7N2.
Fresh install of Windows. (Had to phone Microsoft!!) Everything fine for two days and then......random re-boots, mainly on DVD Shrink.
Did following, Changed ram. Hard drive. Power supply up to 550w. Disconnected all drives except master.  Disconnected all drives. Re-installed windows to different drive as a test, same issue, possibly seems ok until i do all the updates and get the latest drivers in? Have tried ROM config's only 1 rom connected etc to isolate those.  Have changed all cables in case of tiny hidden cracked wire.
In other words, I have tried everthing i can think of, have basically re-built the thing and get same prob under different conditions, installations, even after 2 mobo's, only thing I didnt change yet is the chip.  My feeling is probably its a driver issue, have read the comments on the BIOS site and flashed to 7.7 so thats up to date. Am now going to re-format, re-install and run with basic drivers, see how that goes, then introduce drivers and see what makes it crash.  Will let you know how I get on if I doont throw the damn thing off of a bridge and take up Knitting instead. In the mean time if any of you can help.......PLEASE!!
PS  I Use dvd shrink as a test because it almost always causes a crash, but not always, and during the encryption process which I imagine is very processor hungry, writer doesnt cause crash as its not involved at crash stage.

:idea:ok this i what happen to me when i first install windows and like u geting update and my pc went nut more or les  :noidea:I didn,t inable the fire wall. In my case win xp so things keep going wrong if it wasn,t this it was that, still I didn,t know? so what I did was to disconmnect the internet and and once again start from scarch  format the drive I intsalled windows xp ( advaned)inable the firewall than updates and things r great, :rolleyes_anim:Give it a shot

Startup continues to the splash screen, then I get a STOP message that the boot drive is inaccesible.  (I can't get to the machine right now to reproduce the codes)
    What's going on?

Normal, if you aren't using it POST will report that. You are correct.

I had an issue like that when I had my faster RAM set to SPD.Relax the timings a little and see what happens.

  • K7n2 Ilsr! Help Me!

I have a xp1800 and the system work perfect, but I change it to xp2600 333Mhz and I only can boot with the follow jumper configuration J10 1-2 (User Mode - 133Mhz)  and J11 Open (100Mhz) if I close J11 the system only beep! Anyone know why? My system is running in what speed 100Mhz or 166Mhz? The BIOS told me the system is at 166Mhz! Is there any program to test FSB speed?

Windows is seeing it as a 2600, cpuz is seeing it at 166mhz which equates to a 333. You don't have any problems, all is well!

  • Z77A-GD65 Cannot boot from Bios A

    Hi,
I was fine for years until about two weeks ago, when PC sometimes didn't boot up (no VGA signal, keyboard dead). I fixed the situation by trying to turn it on/off again few times and then it worked. Few days it was OK, and then it happened again. Fixed by the same way. Today, it happened again and I wasn't able to fix it.
I checked LED error code and it was cycling about 5 codes like 49,55,4F, .. (see the attachment). I tried to check/remove all components with no success. I also tried CMOS clearing (connect pins, battery out), but still nothing.
At the end, I tried to switch to Bios B and PC booted without any problem. I updated Bios B to the latest version and now I am fine. It also looks that problem is fixed.
But what is wrong with Bios A? I want to fix it and use it, but I don't know how. I tried to update the bios with Msi forum hq usb flashing tool (booted from Bios B and then switched to Bios A before flashing), but it is still dead.
Thanks a lot for your help.

I also had some sort of same problem (Bios A not booting, bios B OK)
BUT remember one thing: that bios switch is not really hardware. To really switch between bioses you must unplug power cord, wait for capacitor to discharge and then flip the switch.
So the sollution for you  (that worked for me twice) is: clear CMOS (search forum for detailed method). Switch to BIOS B, Make bootable USB with BIOS version 10.5 (A5) (because this version REALLY works with option to flash the other BIOS). Update (or just downgrade to BIOS 10.5) and then clear CMOS with powercord out and battery out. Boot from bios B and within bios flash BIOS A from BIOS B. You will have same version on both Bioses. After that switch to BIOS A (again after clear CMOS etc...) and now you just can upgrade to which bios version you want using the USB bootable stick.
I now have BIOS A with version 10.11 (AB) and BIOS B with 10.5 (A5) just to restore BIOS A in case of failure.
First time when I did this was because mobo failed to boot and can't save OC profiles. Second time was (probably) because of many OC testing.

  • How to tell if video card works at 8x speed on MS-6570 K7N2-ILSR?

my mobo is MS-6570 K7N2-ILSR with the latest bios update and my video card is ATI READON 9600 236mb 8x agp and windows xp pro sp2.
when installing ATI Catalist v5.9 (the latest), it configures the card at agp speed: OFF.
in the bios, all i have for agp speed is: AGP 8x -  enable/disable.
my friend have gigabyte mobo with the same video card and ati catalist configured his video in windows xp pro sp2 at 8x speed.
    why ?
is there any configuration i should check in the bios and/or in windows ?

  • K7N2-ILSR: adding S-ATA drive to existing system

    Hello everyone,
I have a system based on the K7N2-ILSR, Athlon 2500+, 2x160GB IDE Harddrives.
Now I wanted to connect a S-ATA drive (with data on it) from a friend, but I can't get it to show under Windows XP Pro. I've installed the drivers for the Promise chipset and this is shown in the device manager. I understand that you have to create a "1 disk array" before the drive can be used but I can't afford to loose the data on it. Is there any possibility to connect the drive without having to format it?
    Thanks in advance,
    Bomfunk

What type of array do I have to create in order for it to work?
Any parameters I have to be aware of?
    Thanks for your help,
    Bomfunk
standart stripe RAID1+0, use defaults parameters.
about aware as i notice before remember to answer with "NO" when asked about this:
Do you want to clear boot sector that will.delete any existing data on your hard disks?.Y - Clear boot sector Y/N

  • K7N2-ILSR IDE/RAID Slot 3

Hi Guys, I have built and repaired a number of PC's over the years but I've never had any experience of RAID.  I've just treat myself to a new system based around the K7N2-ILSR board and would like to know if the RAID channel of IDE port 3 Can be used and accessed just the same as any other IDE channel.  I was thinking of future expansion should my existing drives approach capacity could I simply use this channel to add another drive.
I would appreciate any advise on this subject.
    Thanks

you can connect 1 harddrive to ide3.
and you must create a raid0 array even if its alone.
with a hacked bios its possible to use 2 drives.
sofar only talked to one guy and he used 2 sata and 2 pata in 2 raid0 arrays and it worked good for him

  • K7N2 ilsr supports cpu halt?

Anyone knows of a program for lowerinng cpu idle temps on nforce2 that really works?I'm running my cpu, a thoroughbred 2000xp in normal speed, 133x12.5 = 1667ghz 1.65v Vcore,on a K7N2 ILSR and the temps are
    52C idle
    56 full load.
With my previous motherboard a gigabyte kt333 there was no problem with cpucool or cpuidle. Now none of them seems to work and I've tried even wcpredit and speedfan4.13 but even if the settings seem ok there is no drop in temps.I also have disabled all the extra features like on board audio, lan etc and my cpu is really idle. I have the all copper GlobalW™ý CAK 4-88T and arctic silver5 and enough ventilation.Temps reported are the correct ones(bios v7.71).I think I'll try some watercooling or peltier kit.
I am not terribly conserned about the temps and I know it won't hurt my pc but I am pissed off that the halt commands don't work with nforce 2. Anyone knows in what temps are the 2800xps or 3000xp running? And should barton or thoroughbred run cooler? You know greek summer is great... but not for computing(room temp 29c and system 43c when idle with open case)

    Quote
    52C idle

if it goes over 60 celsius then you have to do something about it.
dont run coolerxp that comes with pc alert 4 as it only gets cpu temp to increase.

  • K7N2-ILSR Sudden freezing due to onboard sound

I have had a few problems from the start with the K7N2-ILSR, i have overcome them all except my machine freezes when the onboard sound is enabled.  I do not have any other cards in my machine except for my Geforce4.
The problem will only occur when the onboard sound has been eneabled in the bios it will happen when you play sound or not it just locks up or restarts!!!
I have read through alot of the posts and i havn't come across any problems that are the same.

i have ran the memtest86 V3.0 and i din't get any errors but i ran the test while i had dual ram setup.  I will try again seperately.
I have also changed my DDR settings to 333 to match the CPU this has had no effect.

  • K7N2 ILSR & Sempron 3000+

    Hi,
I just installed a new Sempron 3000+ on my mb K7N2 ILSR and I don't know how to configure it properly in the Bios (FSB, etc.)
I installed the latest bios availble thru Live update but the cpu seems to be not recognized as 3000+
    Awaiting some help!
    Many Thanks in advance!!
    David

this is probably just a cosmetic issue.
main question is... is the sempron performing at the correct speed?
if so, it's just a case of the mobo not knowing what to call it.  you may try downloading a program like cpu-z or similar to see if it shows the correct ghz and bus speeds while in windows
