K7N2-ILSR not installing windows XP

I got this board well over a year ago and have tried working on it off and on; Of course it is in one of my backup computers.
Now, when I first bought it, "secondhand" from a guy online, I found it to be frustrating to work. I had never owned and MSI before and simply heard good things about all the applications that come with it that are quite useful. But when I booted up the computer I noticed it seemed slow. I mean I have owned computer for a long while now and even my collection of 500mhz are bootin' up faster than this. My setup is as follows.
Athlon AXP 2200+
Nvidia Ti4200
IBM Deskstar 60 gig
Generic CD-RW (Cendyne I think)
Generic PSU
TwinMOS 512MB DDR 2100 [tried my Corsair 3200 too]
Now before you start harrassing me about "what are the specs of your PSU; That's your problem", hold on...I need to clarify what is happening.
When I boot up, it eventually asks me to boot from CD, I push a key, and yada yada...anyways it'll load all the drivers and then say "Setup is Starting Windows". Ok, so even on my other computers, at this point it takes a few seconds to clear the screen and open the new one. However I have left this on ALL NIGHT one time and it never left. So I messed with the bios settings time and again and FINALLY, it worked, it somehow passed the screen and installed windows fine. I believe I just enable Video Bios Shadowing? Anyways, I was delighted. I gave the computer to my brother for college and he used it all year, no problems at all. Then I realized he had spyware/viruses galore. I figured I would just reformat it so he could start fresh. Needless to say it didn't work. Now, Windows 98SE installs like a champ, I can install and format are re-install no problems at all. Yet I still can't get XP, whether I try to do it at boot or update it in windows I get the same things, hangs on "Setup is Starting Windows". Oh yea, I and I did read before posting this by the way, I did hear that IBM are known for not being real compatible with MSI, so I tried an old 6GB Quantum, which I believe is WD? And the same thing happened. I also tried my Corsair RAM in place of my TwinMOS, both 512mb sticks
Now if you have any ideas for me, that'd be awesome. Cause as for now I'm doing this

Crazy good update!!
After doing some serious searching online I found that there is a hidden menu during installation that is accessible. If you tap F5 while it says "Press F6 if you have SCSI drivers etc. yada yada" and while it says "Press F2 for automated system recovery", you'll get a screen that refers to the processor. It said something about "i486 with C-Step". I chose that and right afterwards, install didn't have a problem, it didn't hang at all!
So if anyone is having this problem, PLEASE try this out, I'm guessing it could help you as well!

Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
Let us know if following that article and uninstalling those components in that order helped the situation.

MacBook Pro 15" (Late 2013) will not install Windows 8.1 Pro under Boot Camp?

Have spent many hours trying to sort this out. I was told this morning in the end by a 'Senior Advisor' @ Apple that Boot Camp does not support Windows 8.1 Pro so effectively it seems like my only option for a new machine purchased earlier in the week is to return for a refund.
This despite the Apple Spec saying "

I have purchased a new 8.1 Pro license, so this is not an upgrade. I have followed the Boot Camp instructions, including getting the update for this model spcifically, but the nearest I got to a successful install returns soemthing of the like 'Unable to update boot settings' or the like and installation cancels. My machine is a mess I guess now, but in a final effort - does anyone have the step by step 'idiots guide' to working through the setup successfully? I don't want to get involved in massses of messing around with files as this should clearly not be necessary for achieving an advertised solution on a new machine bought within the last week should it?
Appreciate any help - I have up to seven more days left in my option to return for a full refund..... and maybe buy a Dell instead?
PS : We have many Apple products, Air, ipads and iphones so would dearly like to sort this out if possible.

8/8.1 will install fine but there's some stuff you need to do before starting to ensure no issues
purchase a retail 8/8.1 license
use only a USB2 flash drive
get a clean 8 or 8.1 ISO
newer machines are more selective with the ISO for some reason (ISOs that worked to install Windows on many different older Macs would not work)
if you've made lots of changes, hacks and adjustments trying to get this work on your own, you should clean install OSX first, do not restore from time machine and start at step 3 to get Windows installed, you can go back later and copy files back to OSX
if you want to try without clean installing OSX, here goes
open boot camp assistant (bca) and choose option 3 ONLY if it reads 'remove/delete' Windows
open disk utility (du) and confirm that your HD now only has 1 single partition ('macintosh HD' unless you've renamed it)
restart machine and do a PRAM reset
open du and repair permissions TWICE
open bca and choose all 3 options (create, download, install)
from here, the process follows the standard boot camp instructions (http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1636/en_US/boot_camp_install-setup_ 10.8.pdf) but pay attention to step 3 where you do have to manually reformat the boot camp partition

Can not install Windows 8.1 to a Bitlocker Pre-Provisioned volume

I'll come straight to the point. What I'm trying to do is to install Windows 8.1 Enterprise to a Pre-Provisioned volume but Windows does not let me do that. The steps I've performed are.
With Microsoft ADK I created me a WinPE media which has the components installed to get the manage-bde command working. I used the article hxxp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh824926.aspx for that.
I prepared an USB stick with the manage-bde components on it and booted my test laptop with it.
Started diskpart and used commens in order to get a new clean partition:
Select Disk 0
clean
Create Partition Primary
Format fs=ntfs quick
Assign letter=c
exit
After that I pre-provisioned the volume with the command:
manage-bde -on -used c:
When I check with manage-bde -status it states that:
Conversion Status: Used Space Only encrypted
Percentage: 100
Protection Status: Protection Off
Lock Status: Unlocked
Identification Field: Unknown
Automatic Unlock: Disabled
Key Protectors: None Found
OK. After that I use the net use command to map a network share with the Windows 8.1 x64 Enterprise installation media itself. I execute setup.exe without any parameters.
I can navigate all the way through the dialog "Where do you want to install Windows?". I can see there now "Drive0Partition 1" with a Total size of 119.2 GB and almost as many free space BUT when I select it and click next there comes
only a warning dialog saying:
We couldn't not create a new partition or locate an existing one. For more information, see the Setup log files."
The best description of the problem I've found from the file x:\windows\panther\setupact.log where are lines like:
BLOCKING reason for disk 0 offset bla bla is either "The partition is too small" (????) or "Bitlocker Drive Encyption is enabled on the selected partition".
What I am missing here? Is there a special trick how to get Windows installed on a pre-provisioned drive? I also loaded the correct driver for the disk controller but no help. As soon as I clean the disk and create the partition new without pre-provisioning
I can install Windows without any problems.

For this issue,when you assign letter,you need to mark a partition as active.
Using a command line
1.Open Command Prompt.
2.Type: diskpart
3.At the DISKPART prompt, type: list partition
Make note of the number of the partition that you want to mark as active.
4.At the DISKPART prompt, type: select partitionn
Select the partition, n, you want to mark as active.
5.At the DISKPART prompt, type:
active

I have been trying to install windows 7 on my MacBook pro 17inch 2011, once i get to the step "burn a copy to a cd or DVD" the system runs and burns the information to the DVD but when the next step appears after I create the partition the program dose not recognize the DVD I created. when i save the copy to an external hard drive that is MS-DOS (FAT) formatted the same thing happens, the system just does not recognize the saved file. 1st, you read the full guide, and you understand that you need to supply your own copy of Windows 7 (Home Premium preferably 64-bit).

ITunes install fail - Apple Mobile Device Support not installing - Windows 8

So I have a Windows 8 Pro system, and I've had to reinstall iTunes. Anyway I've been completely unable to do so. It simply either gets an error and does not install (where does itunes store its installer log files so I can see whats happening?) at all or it gets to the part where its starting up services and it fails when its trying to install and start the Apple Mobile Device Support service and so when I start iTunes I get an error message like this one:
"This iPad cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the itunes installer to remove itunes, then install the 64bit version of itunes"
I've tried several times to uninstall and manually delete all the files related to itunes, but this has made no impact.
I have no idea what to do. Reinstalling my OS and all the apps just to get iTunes back really isn't something i want to do.

All sorted now. Sorry b noir, but I cannot remember the error. What I did was use the idea from another thread to copy the necessary files from one computer to another. Fortunately I have a laptop on 8 so updated iTunes and coppied all the files from the /Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Apple/Mobile Device Support. I then downloaded 2 programs to make the necessary registry entries. This did not fully work so I searched the laptop registry for the version number of Mobile Device Support and then put it into the same desktop registry key. This worked as I was now at the correct version.

Same issue... no drivers for, I don't know which driver

There are two options, keep the Time Machine HDD connected full time or turn Time Machine off and on only when you want to make the backup.

Boot Camp not installing Windows 7 - "No bootable device, insert boot disk and press any key."

I need some help with something. A while back, I put a brand new hard drive in my MacBook, a 500 GB model to replace the 120 GB one. I cloned everything successfully to the new drive via Carbon Copy Cloner, but now I want to make a Boot Camp partition on the drive. The SuperDrive in it is defective, so I use an external FireWire drive. So far the Boot Camp Assistant in 10.7 Lion works fine in creating the partition, but when it gets to the part where it tries to boot into the Windows installation disk (32-bit Windows 7 Home Premium, or could the 64-bit work fine as well?), it shows a black scree nwith "No bootable device, insert boot disk and press any key." I try pressing keys, but nothing happens.
I also tried using rEFIt, but that didn't work out either.
Here are the specifications of my machine...
MacBook (Early 2009 model)
2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor
4 GB of RAM
500 GB SATA hard drive
Dual-layer SuperDrive (defective, may replace it once I have the cash)
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics chip
Mac OS X 10.7.2 Lion
Can anyone help me out with this? Is there some sort of workaround?

Well I am truly staggered, I have tried this on two different MacBook Pros, with three different external USB optical drives. Don't know if you googled as I suggested but you would find hundreds of others who have found same thing. The exception is MacBook Air which works with the Apple writer, but I don't know much about this.

I have a new iMac and trying to install Windows 7 Pro using boot camp. I have reached the stage of starting to load windows from the DVD then discovered the mouse and the keyboards not working so I could not interact with windows installation.

Open, if not so already, the Windows formatter. Identify the BC Windows partition. It will be the one listed with the proper size you created and/or will be labeled as a C: drive. Be careful you select the right one or you may be corrupting the entire drive.
Format the partition as NTFS.

Satellite A200-137 - Can not install windows after hard disk crash

last week my a200-137 crashed and now i have new hitachi 500 gb hdd on it, same as before the crash.
I install with Toshiba recovery DVD windows Vista on it and after succesfull install i have to start windows, it says preparing windows for first use then i have to wait a moment and then i get the message that windows installation is not completed. But it is complete!
After trying for 3 times installing with recovert I tried to install windows xp.
After a couple of minutes and transering files, I get the message no disk found! It says that there is no hard disk on the laptop!
But when I start up the boot menu or the setup menu I can see the 500 gb Hitachi hard disk!
So why can windows not find the hard disk and why can I not start windowds visat after installing with the recovery dvd?

On this virtual way it is not easy to say why you cannot install recovery image. It would be interesting to know if the same will happen when you replace HDD with the same or identical one.
Which capacity has had original HDD?
If possible try to obtain original Microsoft installation disc and check if HDD will be recognized by Vista or Win7 and of course if you will be able to install and start preinstalled OS.
About WXP installation: it is well known that WXP installation will not starts properly due to missing SATA driver that must be loaded before WXP installation starts.
Check this forum and you will find hundreds of threads with detailed explanation why this happen and what can you do about it.
