K7n2delta l
i need some help
this is my first try at computer building
i installed a k7n2 delta l motherboard with the following
amd xp 2200
512 mb ddr ram 333
64mb agp video card
20gb hd
cdr
cdrw
i am having trouble with the system
it will not get past the memory ( the d bracket shows that the memory is either bad or installed wrong ) in user (133) mode
tried changing to all three ddr slots ...no luck
tried it and made it furthur in safe mode (100)
does that mean the ram is good
in safe mode the d bracket showed a problem with the floppy drive
also the floppy light stays on as well as the hd light ( led )
i made it as far as the cd rom that came with the board but it said the videolink ( or something like that ) was not there
any suggestions would be appreciated

Sorry I not really a computer expert, those item are recomend from my friend. It's barely a step up from what you're using now...here is a review on it:
http://www.neoseeker.com/resourcelink.html?rlid=62172
This pic shows that the 12V rail is 18A which is 2A more than the one you have now...scrimping isn't going to make it better...
Enermax or Antec is the way to go...they both crank a lot more amps out of their rails than most...

K7n2delta-L sound crackle problem
hi. I experience sound crackling with the MSI K7n2 delta-L board. It happens when for example, im in the middle of a conversation in NetMeeting, and i hear a sound alert in YM, the sound crackles then in the conversation after that. I also hear sound crackling in the game Syberia 2. I wonder where the problem lies, in the hardware or the driver. I've installed the latest nforce drivers from the nvidia site. Here are the specs of my computer:
Amd Athlon 2500
512mb DDR
MSI K7n2 delta-L board
Geforce 3 ti200
PS. I also have an old Sound Blaster Live card installed in the PCI slot. But i just use it for it's game port purposes because the MSI board doesn't have one.thanks man. i downloaded the realtek sound drivers and problem went away. The spec for the K7n2delta-L was really misleading because when you look at the product page, it says that the only difference between the two products was the raid on the lan and the firewire ports. it never said anything on omitting the sound storm audio on the L version. So I suppose that was the problem cause i was using the nvidia drivers all the time on realtek sound.
Thanks again. -
K7N2delta ILSR won't except video drivers?
I bought a K7N2delta ILSR & can't get it to accept the drivers for an ATI 9600? Before I install the drivers windows XP pro sets some drivers & I can alter the pixel settings, but once I install the ATI drivers I get nothing but a black screen? I boot & the windows XP splash screen comes up but the welcome screen never makes it? I can start in safe mode & the desktop is visable but once I go to regular boot I get nothing but a black screen?
I read a thread where they suggested using a two button mouse but that didn't work either? Any advice or suggestions?
Running BIOS 7.4. Should I flash back to 7.3? Reset CMOS & try over?
Anyone have suggestions?I hate it when people don't reply back to their own thread to say if they resolved their problem(s) or not? I'm not sure what happend but I bought an fx5200 and installed the drivers to find out my AGP slot was not fried or anything else for that matter? I then removed the nvidia drivers & reinstalled the ati drivers for the 9600np to find that all is well & functional? I don't think this was caused by a bad agp seat but it could have been? All I know is that I don't appear to have a bad board.\
FYI .... this board has some nice OC'g features but my gigabyte board overclocked better with the same components & I might add no problems seen on this board!? -
I HAVE AN MSI K7N2DELTA-L AND I LOST THE DISKETTE WITH THE SERIAL ATA DRIVERS (PROMISE 376/378 DRIVER) WHERE CAN I FIND THE DRIVERS FOR DOWNLOAD??? THANKS!!!
the L does not have the promise chip, you need the ILSR
to get sata raid -
hello, how is everyone?
ok question: Proper way to overclock my mobo is?
equipment used:
K7N2Delta -l
Kingston 2x256 PC3200 kit
AMD Athlon XP 2800+ Barton (333mhz) equipt w/ coolermaster XDream II Heatsink with ultra quiet fan. (max 2200 rpm)
EVGA GF5500 256mb DDR video card
Ok...if I let my bios at default to 166 mhz all is ok. If I set it to 200mhz...nothing...black screen of death @ boot.
When I boot the post screen tells me 400mhz DDR, but if I put my memory @ 1:1 and boot it say 333mhz. Am I missing something?
Am I supposed to change the vcore @ 333mhz and get overclocked results?Definitely read that suggested thread. Way too big a jump all at once. Also go to NVidia's site and check out the qualified ram page for NF2's. Warning, you may be disapointed. Also check here: http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=11&sid=
Yeah, I know I'm a noob here, but not a noob to OC'ing, and have quite a colletion of junk cpu's and boards to show for it. -
Norton Ghost / K7N2delta-ILSR
Has anyone used Ghost (v7 in this case) to image a RAID 1 NTFS volume or partition on this controller and restored it successfully?
I can image and verify the drive which appears ok, I just don't know of a non-destructive method of telling whether it'll restore back to the stack correctly ... short of breaking the mirror but that's too dangerous.
Having had odd problems with booting various image configurations in the past I don't want to jump in with both feet and sink!

AndyG" Ghost and RAID
Ghost is not compatible with computers that use RAID. That is, Symantec Ghost 8.0 and earlier, and Norton Ghost 2003 and earlier, do not support RAID controllers on computers that are being imaged. In addition:
* Ghost does not work with software level RAID.
* Although Ghost might work in some limited circumstances with hardware level RAID, Symantec does not support using Ghost for cloning hardware level RAID drives.
* Ghost does support cloning drives that have had RAID removed, such as after you break a mirrored set.
Ghost and hardware-level RAID systems
Although it is not a supported feature, Ghost can sometimes create and restore images to hardware level RAID systems if you load the appropriate DOS ASPI driver to support this. Load the DOS ASPI driver when you create the image file and again when you restore the image file. DOS ASPI drivers can usually be obtained from the RAID hardware manufacturer. For other ASPI driver information, see the document Information on ASPI drivers.
Notes on getting Ghost to work with hardware RAID systems
* Use similar hardware: Restore the image file only to a computer that uses the same hardware as the source computer. Because the operating system needs the drivers for the array, the drives will be inaccessible on the destination computer unless the hardware is the same.
* SCSI or IDE: Ghost's ability to work with RAID arrays is not dependent on whether the array uses SCSI drives or IDE drives.
* Mirrored sets in Windows NT: To clone mirrored sets in Windows NT, break the mirror, run Ghost with the -NTIID switch ( -ntiid ), and then recreate the mirror using the Windows NT Disk Administrator. Note that duplexed disks are a type of mirrored set. See the document Cannot migrate Windows NT mirrored or striped sets to larger drives.
* Mirrored sets in Windows 2000/XP: Symantec Ghost 7.5, 8.0, and Norton Ghost 2003 support cloning a mirrored partition in Window 2000 and Windows XP provided that the source partition is on a Dynamic Disk and the image is restored to a Basic Disk. The restored partition is not mirrored. See the document Ghost compatibility with Dynamic partitions.
* Restore the partition rather than the disk: In some situations, Ghost may be able to restore a partition from a disk image when Ghost cannot restore the disk image."

Msi k7n2delta and soundblaster audigy2
I am having this problem with my k7n2delta and my sound blaster audigy 2. I had a previous problem, but i figured out it was my ram so i just got that replaced. Now i figured out that my audigy 2 is causing my computer to run at 100% cpu usage when i press ctrl+alt+del. I knew the card/drivers was the problem because when i was installing the drivers i kept the cpu usage status window open. So during the installation i saw the usage skyrocket from 0-2% to 98-100%. I knew that was bad for my cpu so i just uninstalled those drivers and ripped the card out, so i'm using the onboard nforce audio drivers. The onboard drivers are good but i wanna use my logitech z-560 to its max, i'm only using a 2.1 system instead of a 4.1 because of the 3 ports the onboard gives me when i should have about 6 like the audigy 2 gives me. Anyone else having this problem?
I tried uninstalling the nforce audio drivers and putting the audigy in the 3rd pci slot. It was the same problem. I installed the packaged drivers because all the other drivers i dled from the http://www.soundblaster.com website wouldn't work. They were updates so i had to install the packaged ones first. But it would run so slow because of the cpu usage that i couldn't continue.

ThermalTake PIPE 101 heatsink on K7N2Delta-L?
Hi,
Is the heatsink ThermalTake Combo Cool DIY Series- PIPE101 http://www.thermaltake.com/coolers/comboCool/pipe101/pipe101.htm
compatible with the MSI motherboard K7N2Delta-L?
I have an AMD Athlon XP 2500+ as processor.
Thank you in advance for your help.hello antonin
The Aero cool tower will fit fine on Delta-L its nearly identical to my ILSR, the only thing to watch for is if you fit a second 80mm fan like I have it may not
clear the north bridge fan if you have replaced it with a big one like thermaltakes http://www.chillblast.com/customer/product.php?productid=360 you will be ok if you have the MSi original and a flat one like I fitted a copper vantec like this http://www.systemcooling.com/images/reviews/Heatsinks/Aerocool_HT-101/mounted2_lg.jpg and watch for the PSU you may have problems if its too close to mother board, if yours is like the one in the pic then it will be fine, it will work on all Athlon XP's, Thoughbred and Barton's, should cool a 2500 to around 40c a well recommended cooler looks awesome.
The thermaltake http://www.thermaltake.com/coolers/comboCool/pipe101/pipe101.htm is to noisy if you go for thermaltake use silent boost fans much Quieter. http://www.thermaltake.com/coolers/volcano/rs/a1889a.htm
hope it helps cheers -
K7N2Delta-L without sound with a SBLive! or AC97
Hi everybody and thanks for your attention...
I just bought my K7N2Delta-L and I got no sound up to now.
I already made a clean install of WinXP Pro SP1, formatting my HD.
1st Problem:
With my SBLive!, the WinXP recognizes and install it fine, but no sound is played.
I've checked the Device Manager and there is no conflicts or stuff... The only different thing I've noted is the volume control/mute option is disabled at the Sound Properties/Volume Tab, at the Control Panel.
I've tried to remove it to install again, but everytime I try to remove it, my control panel stop responding, even in Safe Mode. So I removed the sound card from the computer and every time I boot, just some seconds after the windows startup (at the Desktop), it reboots.
I've tried updating my BIOS to 5.40, installing new drivers from nVidia website, changing slots and nothing changed.
2nd Problem:
Without solving the first problem, I was thinking to use the AC97 for a while, but it doesn't works too...
It seems to be fine, no conflicts, all controls enabled, the media player seems to play... but again, no sound, at all!
I've checked the jumpers at the front ports connector, they're ok.
I've tried updating my drivers for Realtek drivers... Nothing changed...
My config:
AXP 1800+
K7N2Delta-L
2x Spektek 256 DDR333 (Dual DDR)
Chaintech GF440 64Mb
SBLive!
NIC 3Com Etherlink PCI
Maxtor 40Gb/20Gb
Seagate 20 Gb
LG CD-RW/DVD Combo
Windows XP SP1
Thanks for your help!I have never been able to get the sound for the on board AC97 to work using the Nivida drivers CD. It loads all the other drivers but when it loads the audio it blue screens XP and reboots. I have reinstalled XP several times because of problems and it was always the same.
But sense I wasn't worried about the sound and had lots of other things to load and update I never missed with it.
Will guess what when you update XP on the update site it will find a drivers update for the AC97 onboard audio called Nivida driver update. There is two but sense it takes more than one trip to update with a new install they both get loaded before your done nice.
The problem is not Nivida but the drivers they where given for the audio when they where putting togather the CD. -
K7N2DELTA-L and semprom 2800+
I´m trying to install a semprom 2800+ on my K7N2DELTA-L but i´m having troubles.First, there is no boot:the board halts. Tweaking some jumpers, i can get windows XP working, but it reports that my processor is an Athlon 1.2 ghz, instead of the proper name and frequency. I´ve already done the latest bios upgrade (5.8). How can i solve this problem?please help me!!!!
Andre_Iannuzzi,
My friend's car is having problems, the car has 4 wheels. What do think is the problem?
I would greatly appreciate any help . . . thanks in advance.
Richard
P.S. If you have trouble helping me with my problem. Think about how much trouble I am having helping you with yours. Especially when I do not have a clue what the specs of your Hardware, OS and Power Supply are. -
K7N2Delta XP3000+ Showing as 1.2Gig
My K7N2Delta..MS6570 is reading 1.2 gig instead of 2.2Gig after installing XP3000+ chip with 400FSB. FSB is set at 166. Don't know the formula. What is needed to get proper reading? Have all updates that are offered installed. Is there a jumper to enable 400FSB?
Try the Nvidia forum for your board. Please give them system spec. including PSU.
Your problem could be a number of things, for my knowledge. What I think of first is multiplier not on auto, or CPU seating not good enough. I did not know there were other than 333MHz XP3000. -

mocilo74I'm glad I'm not the only one having these issues.
I've been triing to fix the problems but no luck. Finally I decided to look here and what a supprise. It seems that this is a big problem for everyone. The card works great other than the software issues. I hope that MSI steps up to the plate and comes out with a fix.

thing is, someone suggested that my problem could be the power supply, the power supply i have has lower amps than the minimum suggested here. so i guess i should upgrade my powersupply or is there any other compatibility issues between the cpu and mobo?
