K7N2G Dual DDR Installation
Ok, i have 2x256mb DDR400 and 1x512 DDR400 memory sticks. How do I fit them into this board. There are 3 slots, 2 normal and one to activate the dual DDR option. Does this mean that if running dual ddr I can only use 2 of the slots?
Cheers
dezza9995,
You do not need more than 512Mb of RAM for most applications out there. Your best bet is using the two matched 256Mb Sticks. Now if you need a full Gb of RAM, then put the two 256Mb stick in the first Memory Controller and the 512Mb stick in the second Memory Controller.
Take Care,
Richard

How do I: Activate dual DDR in BIOS?
This is a totally clueless question, i know, but it's important, i think.
I have two sticks of 256MB RAM and i've placed them in the two slots which are adjacent to eachother on my K7N2G mobo. Is there anything i have to do to enable the dual DDR channeling in the BIOS or anywhere else?, or is it a function that is just always active?Quote

How to restart Java Engine in ABAP+JAVA dual stack installation ?
Dear Experts
if i use stopsap r3 in this dual stack installation - it stops both ABAP & JAVA Web Application Servers.
I want to restart only JAVA Weba pplication server.
How do it ?
Thaks in Advance !
RgdsBut theoritically they are 2 indpeendent installations like
AS ABAP
AS JAVA
..Do you aggree ?? really am not good on basics!!
During the installation also - if select AS ABAP & AS JAVA - it will become dual installation
and it does not show
any dependency while installing that AS JAVA requires AS ABAP.[Installation Component Selection and Dependency Screen shot|http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn153/S0002919350/SAP%20Issues/Oracle_Patches.jpg]
Installation Component Selection and Dependency Screen shot
Is it because if AS ABAP is down - AS JAVA UME is 001 client - and Java authentication fails ?
Can we de attatch from ABAP UME for my requirement like - running JAVA WAS alone w/o ABAP.

OK,
Is there a way to verify f a system is running in dual DDR? I have 2 512 Meg sticks in slots 1/3 and Sandra reports 1024 Meg avail, as well as XP Pro. I have not seen anything in the bios to enable/disable, so is it an automatic thing that is sensed when in the right slots at the right size?
NickursisIt's all auto detect by BIOS. Disable the BIOS startup screen in BIOS and you'll get info from your BIOS while it start detecting components and hardwares installwithin the system.
If it says Dual Channel or Linear Dual Channel, means Dual Channel is activated. -
Is SAP PO 7.4 dual stack installation??
HI experts,
Could anyone let me know if SAP PO 7.4 is a dual stack installation or can we go for single stack as well.
As PI 7.4 is based on HANA , so while working on it shall we use ICO or old classic configuration. Shall we go for java based adapters(eg IDOC_AAE/HTTP_AAE) or old abap based adapter..
Thanks,To add few cents - May be your basis guys just read the title
Support for Dual-Stack discontinued in SAP NetWeaver 7.4 in general with exceptions
SAP NetWeaver 7.4 is positioned as the follow-up on-premise release for SAP NetWeaver 7.31.
SAP NetWeaver is among other things optimized for SAP HANA as the foundation for the SAP Business
Suite on SAP HANA project. This means that dual-stack deployments and implementations are not
supported any longer. The only exception to this rule is SAP NetWeaver Process Integration on a traditional
database system, which still requires a dual-stack implementation. However, note that a single-stack SAP
NetWeaver Process Integration Java exists that offers 95% of the features of classical dual-stack
implementations. Therefore, customers should investigate whether an existing SA

Removing J2EE stack from dual-stack installation
Hello.
Does anyone know if it's possible to remove the JAVA-stack from a ERP6.0 dual-stack installation ?
We have a ERP 6.0 system running HCM services. The ERP system is installed as dual-stack, but the JAVA-stack is not in use as we also installed a separate NW 7.0 JAVA system hosting portal and java hcm services.
Thank you.
Gerhard.Hi,
Yes, you can drop Java part from existing dual stack system.
1) Stop cenrtal service instance and all dialog instances of your system.
2) Also, stop J2ee engine of CI from SMICM.
3) Hash out all Java parameters in your default and instance profile (like j2ee, exe/j2ee, exe/jlaunch, jstartup etc.)
4) Delete central service instance.
5) Delete Database schema
6) Delete directories (/usr/sap/<SAPSID>/DVEBMGS<xx>/SDM and /usr/sap/<SAPSID>/DVEBMGS<xx>/j2ee)
Thanks

Restart the Java-Engine in a dual stack installation (java+abap)
Hi,
how is it possible to restart or start only the j2ee-engine in a dual stack installation. We have a JAVA- and a ABAP-Stack and want only restart the JAVA-Stack. In windows i can use the MMC of SAP but how is it possible in UNIX.
regards,
sharamHi Eric,
i konw this TR, it doesn't work. There are two possibilities:
restart j2ee-local
restart j2ee-global
we try it with j2ee-local because we use a dual stack installation. What could be the problem. Is there an other possibility? How can i restart the j2ee-engine directly on my unix machine?

Dual-Host installation problem
Hi all.
I have two ITS server (6.20, pl.14): one server with two single-host installation (HRP and RCP istances) and one dual-host installation with agate component (ITZ istances); the other server contain the wgate dual-host installation (ITZ istances).
Single-host istances work correctly. The dual-host istance do not work correctly because the wgate (in dmz) call another agate, do not call the ITZ istances.
I think that during the istallation a wrong agate istances has been set.
How I can undestand which is the wgate component that can call tha agete component with ITZ istances? Because in the folder 'config', in the xml file, I'm able to undestand only for single-host istances.
Thanks,
GianlucaHello Simeone,
If I understand your question correctly, you're just trying to figure out where to set up the connection between the AGate and WGate.
On the WGate, under the \program files\sap\its\6.20\config\ItsRegistryWGATE.xml there is a section called "Instances". For the AGate section, you should put in the information of the AGate server for Host, PortAGate and PortMManager. These ports will be numeric values (39xx) and can be found on the AGate in the \windows\system 32\drivers\etc\services file.
Restart the WGate and you should be good to go.
Hope this helps.

Dual DDR problem with K8N Neo2 Platinium.
Hi all,
I have a new K8N Neo2 Platinium since last week. My configuration is : AMD 64 Venice 3000+, 2 x 256 MB Kingston Value RAM (KVR400X64C25/256) 160GB Seagate SATA, MSI FX5700 VTD 256MB etc...
The problem is I cannot work them in dual DDR mode! But they works in single mode very good. I know that my RAM pairs are not in vendor list! But I love my RAMs..They are CL2.5 and I think they are valuable...
So what can I do?Deathstalker , lots of value kinston ram is qualified .
Just take a look at NF4 testreport:
http://www.msi.com.tw/html/products/mainboard/testreport_pdf/7125/memory.pdf
And what you say about value ram vs non jedec spec OC ram is often quite the opposite as valueram follows the jedec spec
and is a more "hit" than miss with most motherboards contra what OC ram is .
Dxvideo , make sure you use memory slot 1+2 as said, also try booting to bios with one stick and save cas as 3.0
then install second module . Se if it helps with looser cas value .They also follow jedec SSTL 2.5v standard
but is verified by vendor -/+ 0.25v so you can also set voltage manually to 2.6v (or more) to help them out .
If it worked in dual chl on NF2 doesn't neccesary mean they will on A64 system as this memory controller is more picky than
the external memory controller on NF2 boards. -
K7N2-L & Corsair XMS2700cas2: no post in dual DDR
Hi,
I have a small problem here, I am assembling a rig for a friend, same hardware (CPU 2400+, ram XMS Corsair, vga ATI 9x00Pro, etc) as mine.
While mine never had any problem, this second rig (512Mb of Corsair XMS PC2700cas2, 2 sticks 256Mb each) is driving me nut because of memory: no way to use both DDR channels.
I tried to use only one stick, runs fine in any slot: DIMM 1, 2 & 3. I tried BOTH sticks in each DIMM, everytime runs OK.
Two sticks run OK only when placed on same channel (DIMM 2 & 3).
NO WAY to have them running in DIMM 1 & 2 or 1 & 3. Swapped sticks between them when making trials, no differences.
I can change bios setting from SPD to Auto or Manual (and different timings too), no difference, still no post with dual channel.
I tried to change memory: I have two sticks of XMS Corsair PC2400cas2, it works fine even in double channel and I can place them in ANY combination I want.
If i try to run the XMS PC2700cas2 sticks on another mobo they work fine..
I have a 256Mb stick of A-Data PC2700 cas2.5 too, and I tried that plus a XMS PC2700cas2 in Dual DDR, they wok fine! Normally they tell you NOT to mix brands to avoid problems, in this case mixing brands worked fine.
What is even more interesting is that I CAN USE THE XMS PC2700cas2 IN DUAL CHANNEL IF I ADD THE THIRD STICK OF A-DATA IN DIMM2 (XMS PC2700 in DIMM 1&3, a combination that NEVER worked, plus A-Data in DIMM 2).
My friend of course refuses to mix ram like that or to run the rig with 768Mb (apart from the fact he doesn't want, we can't, as this PC is a gaming rig he's using Windows 98SE as OS, hence the 512Mb limit...)
Another funny strange symptom: on bios I see the rows only listed as single row, for instance, DIMM 2 that should be listed as populated row 2&3 only shows row 2, ram count shows correct amount though, both in POST and bios page.
Using original bios v.3.2 the original Vdimm is show as 2,6v, if I try to overvolt a little to 2,7v, hoping it can help for two channel configuration it can't save the value, after rebooting is again at 2,6v.
I know this is a known issue of MSI bios, any workaround, apart from flashing one of the even more buggy newer bioses?
thanks
zipok first off wut board is this a delta-l or a original k7n2-l board
second wut is the power supply rated at and wut are the numbers off the side i am running the exact same ram and mine are in slots 1 and 3 and work just fine if you can put em in lots 2 and 3 and it boots then it is in dual channel mode as the 1 and 2 are one channel and the 3 slot is the seond channel on the board
it could be a underpower problem as these ram chips due use a lot of voltage
and as far as win98 you can run more then 512 mb in it u just need too make sure u use the 384mb registry tweak so it will use the whole amount of ram
answer these and it may be easier too help ya -
Dual DDR Problem IRQ_NOT_OR_LESS_EQUAL
I got this error message when playing games on my system;
Blue screen on Windows XP Pro SP'2
IRQL_NOT_OR LESS_EQUAL
I presumably thoght it was a faulty RAM. When I removed one of my DIMMS, from Dual DDR Slot, the problem disappeared. But I still want to use Dual DDR feature. Is there any solution for it. (When I use the ram DIMMS one by one there is no problem. But when I use both of them in different chanels I see this Blue Screen.
Please help.

i have recently started having BSOD problems too,i'd like to say i dont know if i should start a new topic for this so i'm posting here as i'm new to this . I have read various other posts concering similar problems and after reading most of those i tried all the various things as suggested by you and others,my problem is
that while using Flight simulator MSFS 2002 my PC restarts after a few minutes of
flying,i recently changed my power supply to a 500w one,i used to use a 400w one
and it used to run fine till one day my computer started giving me random restarts and BSOD's with IRQ and STOP errors and i had to format and reinstall XP because booting into xp had also become a problem,so i changed the PSU and also
flashed the bios from AMI 1.9 to 2.4 ,now the PC doesnt have problems like freezing while booting but my FS2002 simulator always restarts my PC ,strangely
FS2004 didnt do it and i was able to use it with the same BIOS settings without a problem,i had run memtest earlier for a short duration and all tests were reported OK(should it be run for any ideal duration ?) and does it stop on its own,i intend to run it again ,i can attach a CPU-Z log for your checking if you need,i have tried everything my RAM timings are set to 2,3,3,5,8 which had worked fine so far even
with the old PSU which i now know was hugely underpowered for my rig,i have also tried changing voltages RAM @ 2.6 , 2.7 , 2.75 , 2.8 AGP @ 1.5 , 1.6 , 1.7
OC to OFF ,spread spectrum OFF , SPD to slow.fast.turbo,ultra even,32 bit transfers on hard disks to on/off tried everything but i still get reboots only in
Flight simulator 2002 ,i have'nt tried other games but intend to try that too,
would appreciate any help on this....i'll attach the Cpu-z log..here
thanks Deep----------------------

ok i got 1gb oc system dual ddr 400 ram the other day installed it pc started up fine went to play a game and middle of the game it exited to the desktop. I thought it may be the game had a error or something so i uninstalled it and tried to reinstall it to get crc errors when i do. I was just wondering if this is a incompatibility issue or what. i emailed OCsystem about it also thinking it maybe badram or something but i have not a clue.
ram im trying to use
OCSystem x2 1GB TRUE PC3200 DDR400 CAS 2 Match Pair Dual Channel Kit
System installed in
MSI K7N2 Delta-Ilsr
3200 amd xp
Asus GeforceFX5600 128mb
120GB Seagate Barricuda SATA HDD
WindowsXP
550Watt PSUthanks Raven_ i will try that and the psu brand is okia
Deathstalker: yea i set my fsb cpu ratio to that.
i talked to a OCSYSTEM tech last night which i need to get ahold of again cause the last one i talked to had not a clue what he was doing cause he told me to goto the memory timing section in my bios and i said "what in the pc health status scetion" he immediatly said no then about a minute later said yes
here is the site and the exact ram i purchased if itll help
http://www.ocsystem.com/ocx21gbpcddm.html
I only whish i knew of anyone else who ever used OCSystem memory and what there results were. scince on any memory test page i found dont list it, but i dont know if its not listed cause its not a major name brand or what. figured from the product page it would work fine with my mobo quote from page: "OCSystem 2x Dual Channel DDR kit with enhanced SPD to maximumize performance for the latest Intel Springdale (865PE), Canterwood (875P) and nVidia nForece2 chipset." well im about to run that memtest86. -
128bit Dual DDR mode (msi 6373)
Hello!
I currently have only one 256mb pc2100 ram in my nforce.
I am thinking of buying another 256mb so i can use dual ddr mode on my nforce.
How much will the performance increase be using 2 256mb dimms?
I cant get another identical ram dimm to the one i currently use, will it be worth it buying 2 identcal ram dimms?
Thanks to all who reply, Hope xmas went well.
Happy new year!

Try buying one more DIMM as close to the specs of the one you have as you can get. If that doesnt work, get another one of the new ones. Since you are using onboard video dual ddr mode will definitely help. You'll get enough bandwidth that your video circuit and your CPU will be able to comfortably co-exist at top speed.
