  • MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR Nforce2 (Socket A) Motherboard (MB-003-MS) Features NF2 chip

I tried to install 3 of the Crucial Ballistix Tracer (1 Gig Each) in this motherboard (MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR Nforce2 (Socket A) Motherboard (MB-003-MS) Features NF2 chipset) and it will not run stabilly no matter what I tried. Is this a bios conflict with the memory? If so, are there any new bios updates? I have tried cas settings and voltage settings but nothing works. It will how ever run perfectly with only 2 sticks in single channel mode. It will not run same 2 sticks in dual channel mode. Anyone have any ideas? Anyone know of any new motherboards with maybe NFORCE 4 Chipset that support all 3 sticks of this memory and an AGP graphics card? Im thinking of a new motherboard but I still need to have AGP and SATA.
    Barton 3200 core proc.
System has ran fine for a solid year until I tried new memory. Please help!

Ok I tried to use relaxed FSB by -10 and relaxed mem timings but still unstable due to the motherboard trying to use dual channel memory. If you can modify the bios to where it will not have the capability of dual channel memory I truly believe it will work. Will u try this for me? I would greatly appreciate it as I am really not ready to spend all the money on new equipemtn when this suits my needs for now.
sure but as i said before this is gona be experimental and risky. Here we go:
MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR Experimental MOD E1(Disable Dual CH ability)
Procedure is automated in best possible safest way to BIOS update.
Prepare a blank diskette in a good condition(newest one etc.)
]execute file under XP will make bootdisk with automated BIOS update procedure. when diskette is ready, reboot PC and boot from FDD(floppy), wait a bit, then you will be asked for final confirmation about BIOS update process, press a key to proceed, after BIOS update is complete, ensure that you got successfully output message from flash program. then power down your PC, remove power cord from the PSU, hit power button several time to drain caps electrify, touch with hands some metal for ES discharge, and Clear CMOS.
pull back power cord, power up your PC, when you see CMOS checksum error,(expected msg) hit F1 to continue to re-build DMI pool data, then reboot and enter in BIOS, LOAD BIOS DEFAULT, and SAFE AND EXIT.
NOTE: Ensure your PC is stable before proceed with BIOS update.
NOTE: Use it at own risk, chance of failure is big, cannot guarantee results and safest as provisional mode which can guarantee it will work stable with features. also cannot test it personally before give you. (don't have mobo anymore)
Using it may end with dead mainboard (BIOS chip re-flash will be required, if somethink goes wrong)

  • MSI K8N NEO3-F Socket 754 NVIDIA nForce4 ATX

I must not have stated my problem clearly. When I built my computer I turned on the power from the back, and the case lit up. (power switch on PSU) I was excited because this was my first build. When the bios popped up, it did not detect my hard drive. I then shut down the computer. I resat the ATA cables heading to my hard drive. When I went to turn the computer back on, the PC wouldn't start. I tried resitting everything on my Computer. I tried using only one RAM, resat video card, CPU, and even tried resetting the cmos.
Eventually I found that if I pull the lithium battery from my motherboard, my computer will turn on. The computer will run without the battery, or if I resit the battery. The battery on a motherboard only deals with the bios and the time and such. It doesn't make any sense at all. I am going to test my powersupply tomarrow and then my video card on a laiter date. I have tried replacing the battery. Getting around this problem wass not hard, I have installed games that look phenomal. I was succesfully able to install my OS also. Resetting the bios on every load up is not fun.
My other recent problem has been with the video card though(this is why im going to test with another VC). When I resit the battery after shut down, and turn my PC back on, the Video Card over powers it self. For three minutes the monitor wont recognize my card and my card pushes as if it was running DOOM3. Finally it steadies out and the monitor turnes on. Please help me out if you have any good info for me. I'll try anything at this point. I'm not computer illeterate.
I am an Intern with TWC's IT departement. I am also going to school for computer science. The A++ side of computing I had never learned.
.......Every where I go with this problem, no one seems to know the answer. No one will even throw ideas at me. Someone please help me out
    Heres my PC:
    ASPIRE ATX-AS520W

    AMD Athlon64 3200+
    Sapphire Radeon X800Pro
    Samsung Spinpoint 160GB
    2*512 MB Crucial Memory

MaYBE I'm not really understanding the problem here...Are you trying to use the switch on the PSU to begin the boot process?  If so, hopefully, you should continue to have trouble doing that, it's not supposeed to work that way.  If the computer starts with the power switch on the PSU there might be a problem with the CMOS jumper, jbat1, being in the wrong position...continue to post your changes and progress and someone will continue to help you, there's a lot of good heads around here, but there's a lot of guys with problems too...add as much of your configuration info to your signature as you can find out, that will help us help you as well...

Exactly which sort of TwinMos RAM do you have?

  • MSI K8T NEO-FIS2R Socket 754 VIA K8T800 ATX AMD Motherboard

    Hi all,
Its been 7 months since i ahve been using this board. Now when i go to turn it on this very morning...The ps2 mouse and keyboard will not work and i smell a burning smell when its booting. I unpluged it and unhooked all cables tot he pc. I am now on my old gateway 2000 and i need help. What do i do?

Well the burning smell could be dust or some such as this has been sitting for a while. However I would start with a visual inspection to see what the problem is. Check and see if any wires look toasted, pull the cards and even the MB and look them over carefully. If you don't see anything then set the MB out on some cardboard and just hook up what is needed to post. Retry it and see if you can watch during that inmitial stage to see what is happening. Worst case take the whole rig to a tech and have them look it over if you are concerned with risking any problems. Safty first always.

  • Wake on lan

I just purchased the MSI K7N2G-L/NFORCE2 board. I noticed it said it had WOR(wake on ring), but I didn't see a WOL (wake on lan). Is it possible to hook this up?

i have not tried it but the option is listed in win xp's device manager. double click the nvidia network controller listing. goto -advanced- click on -wake on lan from power off- check to see if its enabled or not. i think its enabled by default. hope this helps.

  • MSI K7N2G-L no boot

    To all,
    After the death of my Epox 8KTA3 mobo, I finally got around to buying the following on Saturday;
MSI K7N2G-L (onboard vid, sound, LAN)
2x256 MB Hyundai (Hynix) DDR 333
    Liteon 48x48x24
Midi Tower ATX case + Ritmo 400 Watt PSU
    So the full specs of the system is;
    Athlon 1.33C
MSI K7N2G-L (using onboard vid, sound, LAN)
    2 x 256 MB Hyundai (Hynix) DDR 333 CL2.5
    80 GB Seagate HD
    Liteon 48x48x24 CDRW
    no floppy disc drive
And what a delightful weekend it was trying to get this lot to run, with no success.
4 different D-LED error messages after multiple cold boots. MANY CMOS resets, and CPU/FSB jumper changes, and still no go.
Tested with my old 300 Watt PSU on it, no boot either. (this PSU used to run the above components fine).
Now I just get the D-LED signal for bad cpu, or cpu not properly installed.
I'm getting a friend to retest the CPU tonight in his machine.
Is this the dreaded RAM incompatibility issue?
I have the option of either swapping the mobo, or swapping the RAM to Kingston (Winbond) KVR333X64C25/256 MB.
Should I got the RAM route?

    Bonz,
Ta for the link and info.
I'll calc up the PSU tonight and see what it comes too.
As for the DDR RAM.  I'm unfortunately stuck with what I have at the moment.  Mind you I don't have a CPU at the moment, so it's all academic for me right now.
I'll see how it goes on Friday when my mate comes over with the borrowed 1.2G and his two other PC's we are doing cpu upgrades on.
If my RAM isn't good enough or the PSU aint strong enough then I'll test with his Antec PSU and Corsair DDR.
I'll let you know how it goes.
Here's crossing fingers that the cheap arse Hynix (Hyundai) DDR 333 boots up and is stable.

  • Asus vh232h out of range, Mac mini thunderbolt to vga

    Hey guys,
Pretty much what the title says.....
    Mac mini
Asus vh232h (VGA only, no dvi socket)
    Thunderbolt to VGA adapter
    VGA cable (I've tried several)
(Benq monitor running fine on the hdmi port)
In short, if I use a VGA cable under 1.8m, there's no problem.
If I use a cable of 3m in length, or two x 1.8m cables, I get a "Out of range" message on the monitor.
(My office is shared space, so I need the Mac mini to be inside a lockable cupboard.  That means I need a cable longer than 1.8m)
FYI, I don't seem to be able to set the asus monitor resolution in Mac settings (not sure if it can be done when monitor is 'out of range', but I can see the Asus in Display settings, Arrangement. It looks about half the width and height of the benq.
Is a monitor supposed to connect successfully over a 3 m cable?
Will a thunderbolt to dvi adapter work? (Would have to buy new monitor)
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks,
    Darren

Bought a new benq 24" monitor, moshi mini display port to hdmi adapter, and 5m hdmi cable.
    Sorted.
Must be an issue with apple mdp to VGA adapter when using VGA cables over 1.8m long.

  • Board killed after changing FSB? K7N2G-ILSR

I have a K7N2G-LISR. After I changed the FSB which was at 100MHz by default, the D-Bracket showed that the CPU was damaged. I cleared the CMOS and than it showed damaged memory. I tryed the RAM and the CPU with another PC and both were OK.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Does anyone know the difference between KT2 Combo and K7N2G?

I bought a KT2 combo (ms-6764) because my ms-6341 went bad,and msi sent me a k7n2g (ms-6341 v.1.1). Does anyone know which has more or better features? Thanks much

KT2 Combo-L: VIAs KT266A Chipset onboard, SDR DIMM and DDR DIMM support, low price board, FSB266 support
K7N2G: nVidias nForce2 IGP MCP Chipset onboard, high performance Chipset, FSB333 support, graphics onboard (comparable to the GF4 MX, if Dual Channel is used), Dual Channel DDR400 support
The K7N2G is way better, than the KT2 Combo-L. But see yourself:

  • Elitebook Folio 1040 G1 - LAN/WLAN Switching

Good day, We are currently receiving reports from our Folio 1040 G1 users regarding Freeze / WLAN / LAN issues. As you probably know, the Folio 1040 G1 has an external adapter that provides LAN and VGA ports. All of our laptops have WLAN/LAN Swicthing enabled. We tried different scenarios and were able to reproduce the problem:- Laptop has wireless button off and is shut down. External LAN/VGA Adapter is disconnected.- The laptop is started. External LAN/VGA Adapter is still disconnected. The wireless button is white (ON). No wireless network appear in the list (altough we have wireless networks available). When opening  HP Connection Manager the WLAN status is "Disabled by LAN/WLAN switching". To solve this issue we can do 2 things:- Connect the external LAN/VGA adapter - This enables the wireless adapter and the users can connect to a wireless network. When the external LAN/VGA adapter is connected the computer stay freeze 50% of the times until we connect a network cable to the LAN port.- Disable WLAN/LAN Switching on the BIOS - The issue doesn't appear but users stay connected to wireless and wired networks. We don't want this to happen. We are using W7 Pro/Ent x64.Bios version is 1.32Drivers are the latest versions available from Softpaq. A similar problem existed with the 840 G1 but found to be a driver version issue. The same solution didn't help in the Folio 1040G1. Can anyone reproduce the issue ?Any guidance / opinions ? Best regards,Carlos

Hi: What model wireless card does your notebook have? it needs an Intel wifi card that support widi. I used this tool to enable screen mirroring.  It will download and install all the components needed if your notebook meets all of the specs. http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/wireless/wireless-display

  • MSI K7N2G-L nothing but problems!!!!

I've been trying to get my AMD 2700+ to run in my K7n2G-L for over a week now.  When I boot the CPU registers as a 1500+.  There are no multiplier settings on MSI's website for the 2700+ for this board so I just stepped back and used the 2600+ settings to be safe.  Then my board wouldn't post so I set the jumper to 100mhz and she posted again.  It will register as a 2700+ in Safe mode (100mhz).  But when I try to load an OS I get a BSOD.  I've RMAed my CPU and my memory now so its has to be this board.  Someone please help me out if you have any ideas! Thanks!

I'd look at the PSU that you're using for the system first...do Wonka's formula for checking total power on the 3 main voltages then if that isn't the problem I'd RMA the board...just doesn't seem like a MB problem tho...
