K7N2G-L Onboard Geforce4 MX Dual Monitor/TV Issue!!!

I've recently ran an S-video from the onboard Geforce4 MX video to a VCR. I used an S-video to RCA adapter, tested and not the issue. I am able to receive a signal with color during POST and at WinXP splash screen at bootup. After loading display adapter drivers, after WinXP Splash Screen, I lose all color and receive just a black and white signal on the TV. I have tried six different drivers and all with mixed results. When I am able to load WinXP, using Nvidia driver version 42.43, I receive a color signal. I am then unable to view any movies within Windows Media Player 9.0 on the TV but they will play with no issues on the monitor.
Nvidia Display Adapter Driver Versions Tried/Results:
v41.07 - B&W signal on TV/unable to play movies in WMP 9.0
v42.43 - Color signal on TV/unable to play movies in WMP 9.0
v43.45 - B&W signal on TV/unable to play movies in WMP 9.0
v45.32 - B&W signal on TV/unable to play movies in WMP 9.0
v52.14 - B&W signal on TV/Able to play movies in WMP 9.0
v52.16 - B&W signal on TV/unable to play movies in WMP 9.0
I can smell how close I am to solving this issue, but if anybody has any suggestions for what drivers version to install...I'm up for some advice. PC Specs are right below  Thanks in advance!

So I realized that my dvd player has both s-video and rca connections (duh), and so I took my adapter and tried it out on the dvd player.  The regular connection from rca to rca worked in color, but when i hooked the one end of the rca to the s-video adapter into the dvd player, everything comes out black and white.
Obviously these adapter cables shipped with our cards are of cheap quality.  I'll just return mine to the store i bought the card, they said they said they'd replace it.  Just a pain in the ass to drive all the way out to change a stupid tiny adapter.  This next one better work.
Hope you guys find out your B&W problem.  MSI should step in and get some people on this problem.

  • Dual monitor color issue - oversaturated image in CS4

Hi, I wonder if you can help. I found people having similar issues, but never seen an actual answer, so your input would be greatly appreciated.
    My set-up:
MacBook Pro Dual Core intel based 15.4 2.6GHz running OS X 10.5.6 - also my primary display
    HP LP2475- secondary display
    CS4
Both monitors were calibrated using X-rite Eye-one LT (each with a separate profile)
I've tried calibrating each monitor 3 times and still get the proble,
    My problem:
Running in dual monitor mode in bridge or safari/firefox- no problems at all: almost consistent colour between both monitors.
When I open the images in Photoshop CS4, they look fine on my MacBook screen, but when I drag them over to the HP the color is grossly oversaturated - especially in the red. What am I doing wrong? (in fact on the HP monitor, the color looks perfect in bridge but super insanely saturated in CS4)
Does anyone have a clue on how I can fix this?
    Thanks!

You say your running 10.5.6?  Why haven't you updated to 10.5.8?
FWIW, I never had color issues under 10.5.X, however I have since upgrade to 10.6.

  • Dual Monitor Driver Issue t520

I have  a t520 and I am trying to display to a Dell U3014 via the Display port and a Acer X223W monitor via the DVI-D.
When I originally connected both monitors, I could get them both to work in an extended desktop mode after I updated the display driver adapter (Intel HD Graphics 3000). However, once I rebooted the secondary monitor (Acer) is not recognized until I reinstall the driver updated.
I'm not sure what setting could be causing this issue? Has anyone else experienced this or have any suggestions on settings to check?

It plays fine if I'm only using one monitor. If I extend my windows desktop onto both it always screws up. Its not that it screws up when I try and play the video on the second monitor; it screws up when I try to play the video period. Whatever size I have the video playing on either monitor, the opposite monitor starts displaying a choppy full-screen version of the video. The playback in the regular video window is also poor.

  • Final Cut Dual Monitor Setup issue

Hello. I know I've posted this before but it got deleted because I disobeyed the terms of use. I apologise, this time I'm using a genuine Macbook Pro.
When watching clips in the viewer window, they playback fine. But on my external monitor, it only shows the first frame from when it's played. when I stop playback, the external monitor then shows the last frame the Viewer window is stopped on. How can I fix it so that the viewer and external monitor playback the clip at the same time?
I've searched at Google and the only topics I found were 3-4 years old. They also say that I need some sort of firewire deck to have an external monitor, is this true? If yes, how much do they cost?
    Thanks.

I have the monitor connected though DVI port on my Macbook Pro (no conversion, regular dvi).
Check my Graphics Spec here : http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee269/streetwave/graphicspecs.jpg
I might have to try to set the Video/Audio settings and see if I have results.
    Thanks.

  • Dual monitor support? for HP Compaq Pro 4300, with Intel HD Graphics 4000 onboard

    Hi,
Purchased new Buisness PC for cloud computing, which was HP Compaq Pro 4300 - with Dual Monitor supported.
    I have purchased 2x Samsung S24C550VL 23.6 inch LED MHL Monitor (250cd/m2, 1920x1080, 2ms, 2x HDMI, MHL, VGA).
How do I cable these avoiding using VGA for one of them.  Can I use a splitter cable as both appear to support DVI-D ?  Which of the many cables options/splitters may be best option for extended display?
PC will be operating Windows 7 Professional 64

  • HELP! I have a dual monitor setup and can't use any of them for video??

    1)I have a GeForce4 MX 64MB VRAM card installed.
    2) the back is dual monitor capable, meaning it has 2 vga (CRT) ports, one on the right and an another adapted plug with a vga port on the end. ( i have no idea which type it was originaly.)
    3) I have a big dell LCD
    THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED:
the adapter plug ripped off, reveal copper thread things and is now unusable. Although saddened, I was not worried because I don't use a dual monitor anyway and I switched to the other port. BUT THE VIDEO DOESNT WORK ON THAT PORT. I can't figure it out it just doesnt load any video?
the truth is i would rather have a dvi cable set up because i assume its better.
    thank you for the help,
    I need it

oops! whatever it was I reinstalled OS and it left

  • Xorg 1.6, nvidia brokenness w/ dual monitors [SOLVED]

    Hi,
I upgraded this past week to xorg-server 1.6.1-1, nvidia 180.44-1, and kernel26 2.6.29.1-4.  When I rebooted today I found a few things are broken:
I have a laptop and external monitor dual screen setup where each screen is a separate x screen, as setup by nvidia-settings.  After upgrading if I hold down any key for half a second or more (to trigger key repeat), my display on both monitors goes black and my mouse and keyboard stop responding (can't switch terminals, can't kill x...).  Resuming from xscreensaver also triggers this same problem.
Another oddity is that when I move my mouse cursor from one monitor to the other a lingering "copy" of the cursor stays on the monitor I just move away from at the transition point to the other monitor.
If I physically disconnect my external monitor (w/o changing xorg.conf) X displays none of the problems listed above.
My xorg.conf is below.  Most of it is probably not useful, although I should point out that I have input hotplugging disabled w/ AutoAddDevices false:

have you looked at /var/log/xorg.0.log for warnings and errors?
you need to get rid of ..
        Load           "type1"
        Load           "freetype"
If you want independent X screens you need to get rid of..
        Option         "Xinerama" "1"
or change "1" to "0" or "false"
For two screens you should only need two device sections and you have three.
Alot of people are having good results with a minimal xorg.conf with the new xorg-server. I can't really say too much about it as I still use my xorg.conf, although I could probably cut it down quite a bit.
It looks like your xorg.conf needs a lot of tweaking. Or you could just delete most everything in it and let autoconfig do it's thing. Then just add little by little till you get everything working.
Not sure how much it will help because i'm not using a laptop, but rather a desktop, but here's my working xorg.conf set up with nvidia and three seperate X screens.
    # Xorg configuration file altered by Leigh
    # Updated (Dec 2008)
    # Three independent screens
    # Three cards... (GeForce7900 PCI-E, GeForce6800 PCI-E, GeForce4 MX PCI)
    # Monitors... (Two Dell 2005 FPW's, One NEC MultiSync FE1250+ CRT)
    # Note: (Due to GeForce4 MX, I need to use the legacy nvidia drivers, nvidia-96xx.)

  • Server 2012 Dual Monitor Issue - Can't Get it to work properly.

I have a HP Proliant ML310e that runs Server 2012 R2. It came with an on-board VGA graphics adapter, that was using a Microsoft Basic Display Adapter driver and working fine.
Needing to run dual monitors, I contacted HP and purchased a Nvida K2000 PCIE graphics card. I installed it using their latest drivers and rebooted, making sure that the new PCIE card was enabled in the BIOS.
While booting, the server actually now displayed on the new 'second' monitor connected to the newly installed Nvida card. When I actually logged in and went into the display properties, it was only detecting the new display - I couldn't even force detect
    the original display.
Also, when I go into device Manger, it now only shows the Nvidia graphics adapter - no longer shows that the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter is present.
Any advice on how to get dual monitors to work on Server 2012. I did try the Windows/P Projector display, but that did nothing.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
You should check your BIOS settings - some motherboard will disable onboard display card once a PCI(E) card is plugged in. This is a hardware settings issue. If  HP support is available, ask them for detailed configuration steps.

  • Running dual monitors with a H520s

I recently purchased a H520s - 47461VU desktop unit.  I have 2 older flat panel monitors which I hoped to use with the machine.  I soon realized that the integrated video card had no DVI output so I purchased a 28AWG High Speed HDMI® to DVI Adapter Cable w / Ferrite Cores to connect the second monitor.  At startup both monitors have a display, but within a minute or so the second monitor (connected to the HDMI port) goes dark.  I have check the monitor settings but am not able to correct the issue.  Is there a limitation of the graphics card that is preventing these monitors from functioning properly?

    hi jwjbyrnes,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
If you have the onboard Intel HD Graphics 2000 or 4000, then you're setup is probably one analog VGA DB-15 connector on 1 monitor and an HDMI to DVI connector on the other. If you get a black screen on the latter, can you try to:
    1. Perform a scan for hardware changes under the device manager to identify the monitor that's connected to the HDMI to DVI-D converter.
    2. Check this guide on how to configure clone or extended dual monitor mode on the Intel HD Graphics
    Hope this helps

  • Dual Monitoring Open GL Problem

    Hi there,
i am 3d Animator and am amazed by the power of the Geforce 4. The problem is that maya 4 crashes often when i enable the dual monitor open GL mode. When i disable it is runs smoothly. I need that mode for Maya to work on both monitors properly. Did someone made the same experience and knows how to solve it. Please :))
MY latest driver Version is the 3000 from the MSI website.
    My Specs:
    MSI geforce4 ti 4400
    Athlon 1700+
    MSI k7266 Pro Board

    Phil,
It sounds like the drivers did not get in there properly.  You need to try Add/Remove Programs to get them out. Also, you could go into the Registry (If you feel comfortable editing your Registry) and remove all references to nVidia.
That will get all of the drivers out. There is a program you can download to remove the drivers from the registry.  It has been referenced in other posts in this forum.
When you have the old drivers completely out, go ahead and do an install of the new drivers and see if that solves your problem.

  • Is a dual monitor setup with 2graphic cards possible?

    HI.
What i want to do is run Archlinux on my Desktop but i dont want to miss my second monitor.
I could use both monitor on my nvidia graphiccard but i want to use the energy saving features too (wich dont work with 2monitor on one card) therefore my windows setup is big monitor on nvidia and the smaller one on the intel onboard card.
They both get recognized by lspci but only the onboard cards isy being used (the onboard card is the first card on windows too).
So is it possible to get it to work? Id really want to use ARchlinux on my Desktop too but i dont want to use it with one screen or without energy saving?
Working compositing is a must, i want to use gnome3 wich is the only reason to swich to linux for the Desktop (arch is running on the laptop for ages^^) but i dont need to, Win7 is working flawlessly fine and i didnt have to pay for it (msdnaa).
    Thanks in advance!

hy do you need to clock down your card?
Most gpu have a function that clocks down the card@idle and or desktop.
In my case thats down from 850mhz(560ti)to 200mhz while using windows and 50mhz if the gpu load is low.
Thats about 20watts less then with full clock.
The problem is, that the gpu wont clock down with 2monitors on it, it stays at 850mhz.
Theres some driver tweaks for amd cards wich "fix" thatfix this (i believe its intentionl, 2monitors equals more load but its no problem with new cards...
Thats one reason i use my onboard gpu for the second monitor, it works well with windows and also means that swiching off fullscreen (games) to the desktop works a lot better, the second monitor can play a movie while playing wich doesnt work with one gpu and fullscreen.
I really dont need that with Linux since i use it for work and multimedia only but the energy saving feature is nice if the pc is on 8hours and more wich is often the case.
Can you tell which one do you run? I'm going to buy one for dual-monitor setup, and I'm looking for something that will work for shure.
As said dual monitor on one gpu works, amd can do 3monitors while nvidia can do 2 at once, that means if u intend to use 3monitors some day with ur card u have to buy an amd card.
i took the nvidia because is can use it to render videos with cuda support (its not working with all tools yet but its getting better and if it works its a lot faster then my cpu rendering).
PS: Thats one hread about the power saviing with 2monitors:http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=197557
since my monitors dont share the same resolution it seems that theres no way to make it work .

  • Want to run dual monitors;

I want to run dual monitors; my video card if GeForce4 MX, bus is AGP; vram 32 mb; vendor nVIDIA; it is in my PCI slot #1 (I have a scuzzi card in slot 5 and nothing else).
At present I have a Dell CRT 32mb as my main display, with mirror turned off.
Now I have hooked up a Belkin ADC to DVI adaptor to the ADC output and connected it to a Sharp monitor with a DVI input.
In my system profiler it says "NVDA,Display-B", cjlick on that is says no display connected.
    So—it won't run.
What is wrong with this picture?

Does the new monitor work if you click "Detect Displays" in system preferences?
If it still doesn't, try connecting the Sharp monitor directly to the card's DVI output (instead of the Dell) and see if it works then.

  • Dual Monitor Set up Stuck at Low-Resolution?

I have just bought a refurbished Power Mac 2.66 dual core and it came with Leopard. I have a 1 LCD and 1 CRT, and have a problem where the CRT will only run at 736x552 if I have both monitors connected. HOWEVER, if disconnect the LCD and just run the CRT, the CRT will give me the option to run in higher resolutions (up to 1280x960). This on an Nvidia 7300 (I think, 7 something) with 256 meg of video ram...
Why is this? I have been running both monitors just fine on my older G5 (which has a lower-end video card).
This was a problem before the 10.5.2 combo update, also before the Video Up date, and still is a problem after installing all updates.
Anyone have this problem? Is it a problem with the video card? I think it's Leopard...
    Leopard... I hate you.

    hi levononick,
Thanks for posting and welcome to the community,
After reading your post I was trying to get a visual on how the back of the desktop looks like. I don't one here to check on so after googling round I'm assuming that your Desktop Back panel looks like the visual below.
Base from what I seen here it appear that your machine do not have the support for having dual monitor. If you see the top (Blue connector) is for the output of a single monitor that is powered by the Onboard graphics. Now the out put below (Also with Blue connector and HDMI) indicates that you are able to have 2 monitors but not extended. One is for the Montor which supports VGA and the other is for connection for HDMI out, to connect to newer TV screens such as LCD or LED tv nowadays, and use them as a monitor.
By looking at this it does appear that you do have extra slot to possibly insert another Graphics card which does support 2 montior displays. You might need to purchase another type of GPU which does this in order to have the Dual support to fuction. Indidcation of the cards with the dual support can be shown below.
This type of can definitely support 2 montior functions and should be the type you are targeting to get fitted into the machine for the support.
    Hope this helps.
Please do let me know should you require further clariffication.
    regards
