K7N2G-L XP loads to crawl.

Went to 3-6 different memories from single to double from Corsair, Kingston, Mushkin and Generic. Finally settled with Corsair XMS 3200. Still problems XP loads to crawl and every processes takes mins. to hours. Reset jumper to 100/133 same problems. I'm out of Solutions. Bios current version 3.3.

it's best to have the most recent BIOS. while my board ain't the same, 13 multiplier is tho and bus, i got my 3k+XP o/c'd to 2.33 on a 177 fsb that can go a bit higher still using core center. ther's a coupla setting in the BIOS that need changing to make the o/c stick
edit: a quote frome Grayone on what to change. yours may be slightly different so be careful: Turn off dynamic overclocking so that you can use manual settings.  Disable spread spectrum and enable pci-dimm clock.  The rest of the adjustments (mem and fsb) can be made as necessary.  Good luck!

  • K7N2G will not load windows xp with any type of dvd/cd drive installed?

This is on my old computer, the specs are as follows
    k7n2g
    athlon 2600+
    radeon 9700 pro
    Caviar SE wd800
    1gb samsung ddr333
It does not matter if it is keyed as master or slave, primary or secondary my old k7n2g will not load windows with a cd drive installed. I have tried three different drives and everything that I can think of, changed cables, channels, drives, everything. Windows just hangs. I cannot even get into safe mode. Is this an IRQ problem? The drives keeps trying to eject themselves, no matter what kind I use. This has never happened before, but there was a point before this problem where the vga wouldn't kick on (at the login screen) until I hit eject on the cd drive. This is driving me crazy and I have a girlfriend who just has to play her stupid sims and will not stop bothering me about it. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me!
    Thanks
    Chris
PS here is my NEW workstation (I couldn't be happier to get rid of the old system)
    two Opteron 250 90nm

    Tyan Thunder K8WE
1x BFG 7800GTX OC (one for now)
    Audigy 4 Pro
    Seagate Cheetah U160 10k 73.4 gb
    Atlas V U160 18.3 gb

Your Tyan based hardware listing on the first post has no relevance to anything, and might only serve to confuse. Please remove it and put the hardware you are trying to troubleshoot in a signature. Look in your profile>Forum Profile Information and enter that in the Signature box. That way we wont have to scroll to hunt down your hardware specs
So let us get this straight.
This system used to work fine? Yes? Then what prompted you to reload the OS?
You mentioned that didn't happen when you owned it. Are we to assume that at some point you sold or gave parts of this system to someone else? If so, what changed?
A little more history might prove useful in helping us to give you better suggestions.
Look at the PSU and give the Amps for the +3.3, +5v, & +12v lines.
***Edit, from what I see on the net, that is a dual rail PSU and the amps are as follows:
    +3.3V@22A, +5V@21A, +12V1@18A, +12V2@16A
    Is this correct?
Both the 3.3 and +5v seem a little low to me, but I am not entirely convinced that would be your problem. However, the fact that the 12v rails are split, can lead to other problems such as overvoltage protection circuitry getting in the way. Especially if the 16amp 12v rail is overloaded.
This is something to consider. Just because it is supposedly capable of wattage over it's rated power output doesn't mean it can handle what you're throwing at it all at once. If you have a single rail PSU that has at least 18 amps on the 12v rail to test with, we could almost definitively rule out power as the sole problem or a contributing factor.
I have never had a CD rejected, but if you could be more detailed about what you have connected to the board while attempting to load the OS, and then a detailed description of at what point the OS installation fails, and the CD is ejected, that would be helpful as well.
The fact that you've tried several drives, cables, with the same result. And also had a blackscreen event, does point to at least one problem that could point to a power issue. The CD rejection issue is foreign to me since I usually use the same type of PSU in all my builds or ones that I know work with a particular set of hardware, so I can't attribut that to a power issue.
Did you try clearing the CMOS and then initialize the default settings?
Do you have a cheap AGP card to try instead of the 9700?

  • Chronic problem - Safari will not load - please help

All other laptops in my house connect to the internet except for my desktop. All of a sudden - Safari has just died. I try and load a page and nothing works. When I do get a page to load - it crawls like a turtle. I just deleted Safari and will try and reinstall. I have also taken the following steps in the past that were suggested by Carolyn Samit and Klaus1:
+From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...+
+from the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.+
+Mac OS: Web Browser Quits Unexpectedly or Stops Responding+
+Safari add-ons can cause performance issues or other situations+
+If you didn't repair disk permissions after updating to SL, do that.+
+Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.+

    Please help

    HI,
It makes it difficult to help trouble shoot for you if you have the same topic posted twice as here.
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=10884888#10884888
Try downloading and installing the 10.6.2 combo update available here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL959
If you reinstall Safari do this from your SL disc.
Insert the Snow Leopard install disk. Open the Optional Installs folder, then open Optional Installs.mpkg
An Installer will start... click Continue. When you get to the Installation Type in the window on the right you will see: Applications. Click the Disclosure triangle so it faces down. Select Safari and click Continue. After Safari is reinstalled go to your Apple Menu / Software Updates to bring your Safari app up to date.
Since it's just your desktop Mac having this problem it may be a good idea to run Disk Utility from your install disc and verify the startup disk for errors that may need repairing.
Insert your install disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
*(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)*
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
While you have the Disk Utility window open, look at the bottom of the window. Where you see Capacity and Available. *Make sure there is always 10% to 15% free disk space*

  • Improve the Search - crawl etc.

We have 1 WFE, and 1 APP server - the APP server has 32 GB ram and the crawl is pointing to this APP server and not towards the WFE
The Search topology is this (the APP server is the one with all the components ):
We have approx 500 GB of data in 5 content DB's
We have continuous crawl enabled, adjusted down to 1 minute.
Upon a index reset a Full crawl takes about 50 hours to complete.
We have about 2.5 million searchable items.
We need to improve the crawl rate, in my opinion its too low (2.8)
    1) How can the crawl rate and Search generally be improved to the max performance?
    2) Found an article here: http://blogs.technet.com/b/sp/archive/2013/05/29/sharepoint-crawl-log-error-the-sharepoint-item-being-crawled-returned-an-error-when-attempting-to-download-the-item-for-eg-aspx-files.aspx where the useragent should be adjusted in
the regedit from "MSIE 4.01" to "MSIE 8.0"
     - can this be confirmed also applies to SP2013?

    Hi,
From your description, you would like to improve crawl rate in SharePoint 2013 Search.
Here is an article about best practice for crawling in SharePoint Server 2013:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn535606(v=office.15).aspx
Please check the list and try the suggestions per your situation.
Crawl-health reports provide detailed information about crawl rate, crawl latency, crawl freshness, content processing, CPU and memory load, continuous crawls, and the crawl queue:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219611(v=office.15).aspx#proc2

  • K7N2G WITH WIN2K

I installed windows 2000 on a msi k7n2g.  After loading the onboard video drivers i get lines on the win2k boot up and it freezes. Can anyone help me ?(

The ram is elixir pc 333.  Its weird because I seem to not have the problem when using windows xp pro.  Yet, as soon as I install the nforce drivers that came with the mobo it will crap before it even loads to windows.  Its on a CTX monitor.  Could the monitor be the one causing that conflict? ?(

  • Mavericks Safari 7 is badly broken - Help!

Since updating to Mavericks the version of Safari installed, 7.0 (9537.71), is behaving absolutely terribly.
Preferences menu will not load unless selected several times.
    Page loading is crawling.
Some pages where I manually type the url will not load at all.
    Back/Forward buttons do not work.
Open link in new tab doesn't work.
Open link in new window doesn't work.
Extensions downloaded do not appear in the Extensions pref page (though the components are in the requisite folder).
    Numerous crashes and non-response glitches.
This very, very buggy version of Safari has made this update of OS X the worst I've ever experienced.
Is there a way of doing a clean install of Safari 7 or the entire Mavericks update from Mountain Lion 10.8.5?
    Thanks for any help/suggestions/advice.

I figured out my same problem! I had Glims installed. If you do also, try this.
You can download an uninstaller here:
    http://www.machangout.com/node/9
After you mount it, and click the uninstaller, it says it won't work because it's an unidentified developer. So you have to right click and do Open, and then it will give you the option to open.
After I uninstalled it, Safari 7.0 works fine!

  • Credits scroll with different colors and txt size

I am trying to do a credits scroll with different text color and size How do I best do this. I understand how to do it with text/scroll but that doesn't allow me to do different text colors and size. How do I do it with Boris Crawl?
Message was edited by: Tony Brave

    Hi -
Mark an In and Out where you want the roll to roll.
Load Boris Crawl in to the viewer and edit to the timeline.
Double click on the clip in the timeline.
On the control tab for Boris Crawl you can set it to roll your text:
Then click on the box above that where it says click for options and create your roll:
Once you have typed and formatted your text, click apply and you should be able to see the roll.
The speed of your roll is basically determined by the length of the clip on the timeline, the Controls tab for the clip gives you lots of subtle and not so subtle adjustments - like a soft wipe at the top and bottom of the crawl, etc.
    Hope this helps.

  • HELP! FCProX won't start up

I need to show my film this Wednesday coming.
FCPro X has been working great... until a few minutes ago.
Now, it won't launch. During start-up it gets "stuck" loading one event. (This event is not my film. The film seems to load fine.)
    I've...
    ... Force Quit-ed
    ... Restarted my MacPro
    ... Repaired permissions
Start up gets stuck loading the same event. I get the spinning beach ball of death.
The only thing I've "done" to FCPro X is load the Crawling Text plug-in from FCPeffects.
    Help!
    Showing film this Wenesday coming!
    Thanks.
    Cat

If you don't need the Event in question, use finder to move it to a new (temporary) folder so that FCP X doesn't try to load it.
If this doesn't work, try trashing your preferences (download Preference Manager from Digital Rebellion's website to do this easily and efficiently - it's a free application and extremely useful for FCP X users).

  • Error when crawling "Unable to load stemmer for locale 1033. Error code 80040111."

In the Sharepoint Search Service I get tose error "MAPI: Logon failed. " in the log and "Unable to load stemmer for locale 1033. Error code 80040111." in ULS.
The error code 80040111 is well a relation with Mapi but what about stemmer???

    Hi,
For your issue, check your current language settings and ensure that search supports the current language.
On the SharePoint Server open Registry Editor (Start -> type “Regedit” and hit enter).
    Point to : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\OfficeServer\14.0\Search\Setup\ContentIndexCommon\LanguageResources\Default\English
Under the registry key for each of the languages there is a value called StemmerDLLPath and WBDLLPathOverride
Updated the registry entry with NATURA~1.dll to NATURA~2.dll
Point to Start -> Administrative Tools -> Services, right click on SharePoint Server Search 14 and click on Restart.
Performed a Full Crawl and wait for the Full Crawl to complete and try searching again.

I'm having the same problem. Dreamweaver is supper slow. Uploading and downloads from the server... any server I use two different servers. It times out all the time. Menus are slow too.
I'm on a MAC Pro, 6 gigs of ram no issues with anything else. I have talked to Apple they have checked everything for me. They say it's Dreamweaver. I've noticed the Dreamweaver is talking to the FTP even when I'm not doing anything.
I've tried cleaning out my MAC caches, turning off file check and check out. Still really slow. I've worked with Dreamweaver for 6 years never any issues like this before. 18 seconds to upload a 4 kb file. 11 seconds to download the same file.

Go to ~/Library/Caches and delete browser related cache, such as "Metadata" for Safari
If your ISP has a speedtest page, try that if you haven't yet.
    Use the OpenDNS IP addresses.
See if there is a firmware update for your modem/router.
