K7N2G-LISR Connecting Power Supply

I just bought  the mobo K7N2G-ILSR  and i will install an
AMD 2700 MHZ  with a power supply of 400W in a big
tower Xaser III . Right now I´m confusing how I should plug the power supply cables ,because I can see a connector with ATX powe supply  and another one with the reference JPW1. Can anyone tell me if i have to use the JPW1 connector  or  I have to connect only  the power supply in the ATX connector?. If I sould do it this way, which is the use of the JPW1  connector.
I´m new assembling a PC and have no idea how to do this.
Thank you very much for your help and have a nice day
from Spain.

What do you mean by CPU ?.I guess you call the CPU, the  case ( Xaser III built by Thermaltake) and inside there is the power supply with  the ATX connector (20 PIN) and the other the JPW1 (4 PIN ) and if I understud right , I must connect both into the motherboard.
Thanks again for your help and  sorry for being so ignorant in this matter.
Bye

Had this PSU in my hand today at MicroCenter. Almost bought it.Want some opinions on it first.Thinking of using it to replace my TrueBlue TruePower480.

    Hi,
Having read the reviews for X-connect It's definitely worth a look, I personally however would go for the Antec every time.
I subscribe to "Custom PC" magazine in the UK.
They recently did a lab test on numerous PSU's (they claim to have researched doing exhaustive tests for nearly a year beforehand) 30-40 tests were carried out on each PSU! (using FA-828ATE PSU load testers)
    Some results were surprising.
    For example:
The Enermax Coolergiant 435W actually failed two of the voltage stability tests, it was suggested that: "Enermax is being a little overly optimistic when it claims these two rails (+5v and +3.3v) can output a combined 260W. However, it did stand up to all the other stress tests, so obviously it isn't a serious problem."
(note though, that it only failed at the very extremes of it's spec and in normal use would not be a problem)
As this could be useful to passing forum members, here's a breakdown of their conclusions:
    ------------------------------------------Stability----Features------Value----Overall
    Silentmaxx proSilence PCS 423W-----29%---------15%---------24%------25%
    SilenX Luxurae 460W-------------------13%---------75%---------36%------31%
    Asus A36-F-------------------------------84%---------40%---------40%------69%
    FSP Blue Storm 400W-------------------86%---------55%---------72%------77%
    Enermax Coolergiant 435W-------------89%---------55%---------76%------79%
    Seasonic Super Tornado 400W---------95%---------50%---------72%------80%
    Vantec Stealth 420W--------------------89%---------80%---------80%-------85%
    Zalman ZM400B-APS-------------------100%--------65%---------72%-------86%
    Antec NeoPower 480W------------------100%-------85%----------64%------88%
    Akasa PaxPower 460W------------------92%--------90%----------76%------88%
    AOPen XPower 400W--------------------100%-------60%----------88%------89%
    Tagan TG480-U01------------------------95%--------95%----------84%------92%
Remember though that even the PSU's that didn't have over 90% stability are not necessarily bad PSU's as the tests done pushed these PSU's to their absolute limits!
The "Stability" percentages are with regard to the rails dropping or rising above the ATX/PSU's specs when put under various loads. During these tests one PSU blew up and another kept switching itself off - no prizes for guessing which two!
As you'll notice the Antec is in the list and scores extremely well, the X-Connect PSU wasn't reviewed unfortunately.
TBT: One thing I did notice in the review was this "Active PFC is also required to provide a stable output above 450W". As I said earlier this seems to be lacking in the 500Watt X-Connect.

  • My Macbook Pro with Remakes funny noise when connected to power supply cable and no other response. The best description of the sound I can give is the buz the computer makes on startup. Sound goes on and off while connected

I am new to the Macbook community. I own this Macbook since 10/2012.
My Macbook Pro 15 with Retina Display suddenly totally stopped responding. No display, no activity on keyboard. When I connect power supply cable, the Mac makes a noise as if it is starting up, but this lasts a second and this sound comes and goes the whole time the power cable is connected.
    Any advice?
    Thanks!

I found that the screen won't wake up if only the thunderbolt connection is plugged. Is this normal ?

I just got my ATD and late 2011 MBP up and running. I've not tried running without the power adapter from the ATD plugged in, but I just tried and didn't have any problems with the display not waking. You may want to take your query to the ATD forum - https://discussions.apple.com/community/peripherals/thunderbolt_display - perhaps someone there has experienced a similar issue.
    Good luck,

    hi ,
I have a M30X and during the last months the fans when I'm connected to the power supply don't stop at all. It also shut down quite often. However the laptop is not warm. Do you have any clue?

    Hi
If you connect the AC adaptor to the notebook the Toshiba power saver changes the power modes. Possibly the power mode has different settings in the ??basic setup??. Please check the cooling method and change it to lower level.
But of course, the dust and debris could have a bad influence on the fan behavior.

Well the term "hotlined" I have never heard before. In any case many states (like NY) just passed regulatory powers to the State Public Service Commission of which it may be called something different in your state. You could file a complaint with them. Or file a complaint with your state attorney generals office, they also take on wireless providers.
The problem here is the staff you speak to are poorly trained, in days gone by it took one call to them and they pulled up your account and see the error and had the authority to remove any errors. They did not remove legitimate account actions, but used their heads instead of putting a customer off or worse lying to the customer.
Its a shame you have to go through what you going through.
    Good Luck

  • My MacBook Pro will not powerup (even when connected to power supply).

My MacBook Pro will not powerup (even when connected to power supply). The caps lock key is the only light on.

    Hi PatB11902,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your MacBook Pro does not seem to power on, but the caps lock key will light up when you press the caps lock key, you are likely seeing a video issue.
There are several steps that can help troubleshoot this behavior, found at this link:
Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays - Apple Support
    Start with these steps:
    Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.
    Start up in Safe Mode.
If your Mac does not start up normally after these steps, here are some additional tips that can help:
Troubleshooting: My computer won't turn on - Apple Support
Verify you have a good connection from your Mac to the wall outlet by confirming the power cord and adapter if present are securely connected and plugged in. To check if the wall outlet is working, plug in a lamp or other electrical device.
If the wall outlet is working and you continue to have no power try another power cord or adapter if available. If it works you may need a replacement cord or adapter.
Disconnect all accessories that are plugged in to the computer, such as a printer, hub, or other mobile device.
If your Mac supports user-installable memory, solid state drive, or hard drive, and you recently installed any of these, make sure they are installed correctly and are compatible with your computer. If possible, reinstall the original memory or drive into the computer to find out if the behavior persists afterwards.
If you are still unable to start up your computer after trying each of these steps, visit an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) for further diagnosis. If you plan to visit an Apple Retail Store, make a reservation at the Genius Bar using http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ (available in some countries only).
Note: Diagnostic fees may apply for issues not covered under warranty or the AppleCare Protection Plan (APP).
    Sincerely,
    Jeremy

  • Please help: My MBP freezes when not connected to a power supply.

When I am working on my MBP (specs below) without it connected to the power supply, it will freeze every once in a while. I have no option but to hold down the power button to do a hard restart – and then it takes a good five minutes to boot back up.
Does anyone know what the problem might be? It NEVER freezes when it is connected to power.
BTW – the MBP freezes randomly, *sometimes the battery will be near full, sometimes only half full,* so I don't think it has to do with the amount of power left in the battery.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

there is definitely a problem Apple must solve, i have this issue too.

  • Power supply to display connection broken

    Hello,
I've got an Apple Cinema 20' Alu and the connection between the screen and the power supply is pulled off. My local Apple reseller can't change the cord because it's not possible to open the screen.
Connectic seems to be good so I want to soldier it. There is 5 pin (very little...)
    Does someone try it ?
    Thanks for help

Fred, best to find an authorized repair center or Apple Store. Soldering that little stuff can get really messy, depending on your tools and skills.

  • To connect a Power Supply over RS-232 in LabView

    Have a nice day,
dear friends, I have done some basic programs before in LabView, my project is now to connect Agilent E3631A DC Power Supply serially and sending/recieving data(my aim to change input voltage from the computer without touching the hardware device).
I actually already connected the Power Supply to my computer ,I also downloaded driver of it from Agilents web site.
So the only thing is now to establish the connection in LabView.
hmmm. can you please tell me what to do now ? I have no idea if I should choose VISA or DAQ or sth else.. how can I let the LabView to send a new voltage to the hardware.
    With best wishes

After installing LabView 7.0 and VISA Now I have concrete questions. Do I need some more program to install ? ( drivers I already found from ni.com )
You should have everything you need to do serial communications installed. The drivers you downloaded should help you get started with your applicaition, so I'd install them as well.
first of all I installed LabVIEW Evaluation version 7.0 , and I can`t open sources which are written with ver. 7.1 , how can i handle this problem ? ( because somebody sent me some codes which are written in 7.1 and I definetely want to see them )
You can save VIs to the previous version only. So will need to have somebody save the code to 7.0 for you.
second; should I use VISA or IVI ? whats the difference between them ?
At this point, I wouldn't worry about IVI. The drivers you downloaded are probably "IVI Drivers" but use VISA to communicate with your instrument. If you want to know a bit more about IVI in general, just do a search on ni.com for "IVI".
third; lets concider that I use VISA . From the IO Config menu, I choose COM 2 and VISA interface name is than ASRL2(automatic). And than from VISA Assistant, I choose the place of the driver of my Power Supply. Up to now everything seems to be ok. what is the next step after here ? Do i forget some configurations?
The first step is to initialize the port and instrumnet. If you look on your functions palette from the block diagram, there's a sub palette named "Instrument I/O" and a sub palette of that one named "Instrument Drivers". In this drivers palette, you should see a palette for the drivers you installed for the power supply. There should also be a sub palette in there named "Applicaiton Examples" that can help you get started. There should be one or two examples that will allow you to control the power supply, and you should be able to open the block diagram and see how it's put together.

  • My macbook model 7.1 will not start up unless connected to power supply even when it is fully charged. Does anyone know the cause of this?

I have a 4 year old MacBook 7.1 that has worked wonderfully until today. I went to turn on my computer and it would not do so until it had been plugged into the power supply, and it was fully charged. Can anyone suggest what to do to fix this? DO I need to take it to an apple repair tech? Thanks

    Hello ssamaro13,
I definitely understand your concern with your battery not powering your MacBook when the power adapter is disconnected.  I found a couple of resources that I think might help with this.
The first thing I recommend is resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) on your MacBook:
Resetting the SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own
Note: Portable computers that have a battery you should not remove on your own include MacBook Pro (Early 2009) and later, all models of MacBook Air, and MacBook (Late 2009).
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.
You can find the full article here:
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964
If your battery is still not powering the computer when disconnecting the power adapter, the next thing I recommend is troubleshooting your MagSafe adapter using the steps in this article:
