K7N420 Compatible with????

I have a K7N420 Pro mb and want to get a good video card for it, I found a msi GeforceFX5600 card and want to know if its compatible. It says agp 8x/4x but I've seen manuals that state theres an agp2.0 4x and an agp3.0 4x (don't know if that's true or not, just seen it), I want to know which one the Msi card supports but havent found then info on any of the websites, if anyone has the info please share.

What you could do is go read up on the specifications of 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 by going to http://www.google.com and doing a search for each one. Read about it and make your decision based on the specs...

Help! K7N420 compatible with MS-8894? Crashing!

I just installed my new G4Ti4200-VTD8x onto my K7n420 Pro Mobo. I had no video card installed...using the onboard video. I set the AGP aperture to 128 and booted my XP system. As soon as the destop appeared, it crashed back to reboot. I removed vid card and rebooted and uninstalled the nVidia Geforce display adaptor, as per the instructions for NT installation XP not in manual) to remvove the video card. It boots and then crashes over and over. Will my mother board support this video card? Is there a problem because the mobo is 4x and the card is 8x? Help!

I just received today by mail order the MS-8894, G4Ti4200-VTD8X. I have spent the last 5 hours uselessly trying to get it installed. All I can believe is that the card is bad. I followed the instructions in the manual best as I could...no instructions are given for the case of installing when you are using the mobo onboard video. I shut down, installed the card and rebooted. When I did the system got in a loop of rebooting and crashing. I finally got it started in safe mode. My onboard G2 nVidia AGP got dropped and the standard VGA drivers had been put in place. XP gave the message, new hardware intalled, referring to the standard VGA drivers. Then when I put the MS-8894 driver CD in, the choice to select drivers to install is not there on the install. Finally I got them off your site and installed them. Rebooted into normal mode and the same thing..a flash of blocks of color and then shut down and reboot. I finally fixted it by removing the new card, zeroing out the CMOS, rebooting, and enabling the onboard G2 video.
XP crashes within 2 minutes of booting with this card in. How can you tell if a card is bad?

Did you move any other PCI cards or anything prior to installing your new card?
You said it wont let you install the drivers, what messages are you getting?

I just had the same problem installing my TV card a few days ago but safe mode was a no go for me. I had to reload windows but I chose the option to not format and then reinstall in the same c:windows directory. That way I kept all my files. I then backed up my critical files and did a full format and reinstall afterwards.
You may not have to do this if you can get to safe mode.
You can try uninstalling the video drivers from add remove programs. Or Use System Restore to put you back to your last restore point.
I noticed you provided some specs but I have never seen a 2509 watt power supply, I am assuming it is a 250 watt. If that is the case, then it is underpowered for the GF4 and is more than likely contributing to the problem or what caused the installation to fail originally.
You can also wait to see if anyone has any better ideas.
I am short on time and have to go to work and may not be back here till tomorrow.

i accindetally deleted my mail app and emptied the trash, when I tried to reinstall from the startup disk, it installs but wont open, saying that the version of mail is not compatible with the version of OSX (10.5.8)

There is no downloadable version of Mail.app - it comes with the operating system i.e. on your install disks.

I have installed Firefox4 to find it is not compatible with my version of OSX how do I get version 3.6 back or do I just give up and use Safari?

I downloaded Version 4 and installed it. At no point did it say that it was not compatible with the version of OS X that I am running (10.4.11) now that it is installed it will not open but it has already up graded from 3.6 so I have lost the lot. I need to silently upgrade from 3.5 to 7 but get an error message after 7 install. Platform version 7.0 is not compatible with minVersion = 1.9.1

I'm trying to silently upgrade my environment to FF 7. I've gotten the silent install working great, it puts in my Proxy Server info, reassigns the home page and all that. But, the last version we pushed out was FF 3.5. If a user had that on their PC and they run the FF7 install, they get weird messages when clicking on the icon.

Do you have other virtualization or security software that might protect .ini and possibly other files in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) and prevent Firefox from updating them properly?
You need to do a clean reinstall.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

* Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.

I want to add another management server to our existing SCOM environment. But whenever I run this setup on a new server I get stuck in the window for selecting the OperationsManager database. The database field stays blank and in the OpsMgrSetupWizard log
there are lines that the setup version is not compatible with the database version. But I use the same installer as when I installed the other management servers a year ago.
Maybe there is a newer setup installer? But I can't find it.

CLR Types for Microsoft® SQL Server® 2012 and now it works!!

Sorry - may have posted in the wrong discussion, but here's trying!
Read some posts on this subject before, the suggestion is not, the iPod shows up as a removable drive in VISTA but iTunes won't sync - that was RC1 and not release versions. I'm looking to upgrade from XP Pro to VISTA on my home PC (I have the media and my PC is shown as compatible so just I'm itching to make the install!) but worried I'll lose connection to my iPod from iTunes. Anyone done this yet, what was your experience?

iTunes is not 100% compatible with Vista.
The filter driver for the burning component of iTunes does not function. If you install iTunes, you will need to remove it by going to Device Manager then View -> Show Hidden Devices.
Expand Non-Plug-and-Play devices, find PxHelp20. Right click that and select Uninstall.
You may have to restart. After this, iTunes will function except for the burning component.

Xbox 360 no longer compatible with my Ipod

I have been using my 4th gen Ipod with my 360 since January of this year...now everytime I pluged it in to my 360 it recognized it by it's name and I could choose any playlist I want with no problem...now from 2 days ago on, my 360 no longer see's the ipod by it's name but shows it as "audiobook" and I can not see any playlists on it what so ever...
If I unplug it from my 360 or plug it into my computer it's fine and works great, but when it's plugged into my 360 the name is changed and my playlists are not there.
I'm thinking it might be something in the last update 7.3 for Itunes which might not be compatible with the 360, which is the only thing that has changed in the last week.
Anyone else having the same problem with his/her Ipod/Xbox360? And is their any suggestions on how to fix this?

I got it working yesterday...you have to uninstall everything that has to do with Itunes and quicktime from your computer, even the mobile update...then search google for Itunes 7.2 (it's out there)reinstall 7.2 and turn off the automatic updates. plug your Ipod back into your computer open up Itunes...then when you eject it from your computer, plug it back into your 360 and it should be working just fine!

What hard drives are compatible with OSX Snow Leopard Boot Camp?

Recently when the video card in my desktop Mac died, I decided to make some upgrades, one of them being the hard drive. After doing some research, I fixed on the Western Digital 3TB Caviar Green 3.5-Inch and had it installed at the same time as the new video card. I installed OS 10.6.8, opened up Boot Camp Assistant, set the partition sizes: 2.5 TB for my Mac side and 500 GB for the Windows. XP wouldn't install so I ordered Windows 7 and began trying to set up the Windows partition. Each time I tried, I got the same error -- Windows 7 couldn't install on the 500 GB partition since it was formatted GPT which was strange since when I looked at the partition inside of Disk Utility, it said NTFS. While troubleshooting, I came across the following:
・Mac users should know that WD's new drives do not support Boot Camp, therefore they cannot be used as a dual-boot hard drive.
・The MBR part of the hybrid partition table cannot work with 3TB hard drives. MBR is limited to 2TB.
・In a 32-bit MBR world, a disk larger than 2TB is probably invalid, and different OS's and tools react wildly differently when this is forced beyond 2TB.
I called Western Digital to confirm which of their drives were in fact compatible with Boot Camp and they replied since Boot Camp was a third-party application, they have no information on compatibility. They told me to call Apple to get the information. Before purchasing a new drive and sending back the 3TB WD, I want to be sure I know which specs to look for in a hard drive in deciding whether it is compatible with my machine. Any helpful advice or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for responding to my question. I guess I'm not sure I understand your reply though. I had no problem installing OS X on the 3TB WD Caviar Green and WD assured me that if I wanted to install only Windows 7 on it, there would be no compatibility issues. The problem lies with wanting the drive to be dual-bootable I guess via using Boot Camp (I know of no other way to go about it). The tech at OWC (where I bought the drive) said he had never heard of any problems with being able to install both Mac and Windows OS on the drive. In fact, he gave the same reply as yours: most hard drives should be able to work perfectly fine with your Mac. It's just that I can't get XP or Windows 7 (32 bit or 64 bit) to install on the 2nd partition, making the drive I have now not dual-bootable. The tech said 2TB hard drives were different and should solve the problem but when I asked him for any discernible spec I could look for in shopping for a replacement drive, he couldn't give me one, i.e. most drives should be okay. I have paid to have the 3TB installed and will have to pay to get the drive taken out and a replacement put back in -- I want to make sure whatever drive I put in this time allows me to have 2 partitions: one for my Mac OSX system and the other for my Windows enviroment (either XP or Windows 7).
If there is a work-around not involving Boot Camp, please let me know. I thought the reason for using Boot Camp as opposed to Disk Utility to create the dual-bootable drive was the benefit of using Mac drivers on the Windows side.
If there is another way, I don't understand why PC world made this blanket statement:
"Mac users should know that WD's new drives do not support Boot Camp, therefore they cannot be used as a dual-boot hard drive."
