K7N420 Pro and Gainward GeForce4 4200 problems

I can't get a post from this mobo/video card combo. Posts fine using an Elsa Gladiac. My wife's MSI K7T266 Pro boots fine with the Gainward 4200, but my nForce mobo won't do it. Odd since they're both using Nvidia stuph.
Anyone else had any problems with this combination? I've written MSI Tech support, but they haven't answered yet. I've been waiting to hear from them for over a week now. I'm getting impatient.
I'm using the latest BIOS for the motherboard and for the Video Card. I've even stripped everything off the mobo except for the CPU/RAM/Power Supply. I'm using a very high quality Antec 300W PS. Anyone???

I've got no problems with my setup, but my Enermax 350W (185W combined) has dropped from 3.33 to 3.28V and 4.95 to 4.89V when I dropped in the GF4.
The 4200 of Gainward is smaller than the 4400s and 4600s, so it doesn't need as much power as they do. Nevertheless, I would get a 431W Enermax if I were you if not, make sure it's over 200W combined as wonkanoby said.

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

K7N420 Pro and 160GB HDD?!?

Hi,
I've done a search on this and scoured the motherboard's paperwork but I've found nothing definitive.
I'm considering shelling out for a 160GB hard drive tomorrow but I'm unable to confirm whether I'll have problems with my K7N420. The drive will probably be formatted for storage only (no primary partitions) I know that I'll probably be able to use it with a dynamic drive overlay (I usually multi-partition anyway) but I was wondering if it was supported without?
Is there anyone successfully using a 160Gb HDD on their K7N420?
I've got 3 boot partitions - two with SP2 and the other with SP1 so I'm pretty sure that the OS won't have difficulties.
Any info would be gratefully received!

MacBook Pro and Cintiq 12UX display problems?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this so I'm sorry if it isn't - this is just the only place I could think of to ask about a display problem?
I’ve just got the new model Cintiq 21UX, and I’m running it off one of the newer model MacBook Pro’s (using Apples adapter to connect the two).
Everything seems to be working fine, although on the Cintiq’s screen I get flickering green pixels in darker areas of the screen? The confusing thing is it doesn’t happen all the time, it just seems to be the one particular ‘shade’ of dark grey/dark tones it happens on - an example is if I move an image around then its the same area of colour it has problems with across the screen, or if I zoom in the effected area gets bigger etc. I can also edit the colour to a slightly different shade and the problem stops so it can’t be a dead/frozen pixel. If I turn on the mirror display option it is still only the Cintiq display that is effected.
I currently run the MacBook using the Nvidia 9600M GT, I did try switching to the 9400M but it made the situation a lot worse and caused green pixels lines to flash horizontally across the screen.
I can save the image or drag the window that the problems happening on and drag it back to the MacBooks’ screen and there is no problem with the pixels there - it’s only on the Cintiq display.
I was just wondering if this is either a fault with the Cintiq tablet itself, or possibly a problem with the MacBook?
If it’s useful the spec of the MacBook is:

Premiere pro and media encoder CC problem

I hope some of you can help me, I installed new version of premiere pro and media encoder CC and now none of them works, I can edit in premiere but as soon as I press export message apears ''sorry a serious error has occurred that requires adobe premiere to shut down'' when I try to open encoder it shut down on startup.

9700 pro and K8N Neo 754 Problem

I have some stability issue running 9700 pro on K8N neo 754,
First I was having a signal loss problem during playing and freezing , and I have to reboot manully from the reset buttom, FIXED this problem by running the card at agp 4x instead of 8x
second problem, also signal loss but this time in dos, some time I restart my computer, nothing appear on the desktop and aswell monitor is giving me no signal, just push the reset buttom and it works, and also when I enter bios to change some setting , save and exit , and nothing on the screen (signal loss), then push reset buttom, THAT happens random, some times it restarts without problem, I think the problem is the GPU stop responding.....
I think changing some bios settings may help
I tried disabled agp fast write and agp sidedband , didn't fix, maybe there is something hidden can solve the problem

This board does have settings that can be accessed by pressing shift F2 then pressing alt F3. I've never accessed them but I hear that there is a setting called nv/ati speedup or something like that. Some have solved video issues by enabling/disabling this feature.

Elements 10 Suddenly will not open. Should I uninstall/deactivate and re-install or will I never be able to use it again? On windows 7 using parallels on Macbook Pro and never had this problem ever.

I ran trouble shooting and conflicts. It now keeps wanting me to switch to a different windows OS rather than 7 which is what I am running and how it worked previously. The only thing I have done in the last several days that may have freaked it out is downloading flash because my flash kept crashing in google chrome (i did days of trouble shooting before doing this. Thanks to Adobe I've used up about 4 days of non productive trouble shooting and now this!). It simply doesn't open anymore - not even an error message.
Just wanted to confirm that the next step should be deinstall/deactivate and then try to reinstall. But worried Adobe has rigged it so that only works if reinstalling on a different computer. Should I anticipate any problems in un & re install?

That person is misreading the prompt. It merely tells you that if you DO want to uninstall old versions, you should stop the install now and go do that first because the installer won't do it (and you really don't have to--you can uninstall later if you decide you no longer need the old version). It never says you MUST pick a version, although many people misread it to mean that.

If only one which I assume is USB, try installing the Cannon as a network printer. - It doesn't specify that it is connected by USB. It says that it is "in use, Default". There is a tick in the box alongside "Share this printer on the network". Is there somewhere else that I need to access to install it as a network printer?
If you have already installed it as a network printer open the print queue from the Print and Scan. Click on the Printer Menu and run Netwrok Diagnostics.
I entered the print queue but there is no option to click on Network Diagnostics because it is greyed out.
There are tick boxes alongside:
Screen sharing
File sharing
Printer sharing
Scanner sharing
Remote login
Remotemanagement
Remote Apple events
Internet sharing
Bluetooth sharing
with a tick alongside Printer sharing.

Can anyone tell me about this setup? I'm looking into getting a 5.1 set with optical connection (which means the digital amplifier is built in the set)

Mulderfox: Have you got a SPDIF coaxial connector for your motherboard?
If so, your best bet is to buy a speaker set with the SPDIF coaxial connection. I have mine plugged in to my Hi-Fi amp Sony 5.1 (SPDIF coaxial) and it sounds great (most new Hi-Fi amps have both optical and coax).
AFAIK, there's not that much difference between the optical and coaxial connections (I'm no expert though). But I do know they both do the same thing. If you don't mind me asking, why are you so set on getting the optical version?
Optical is more of a purest's option but I'm a harsh critic as far as bad quality sound goes and I've had no problems with my coax/SPDIF connection!

I have a MacBook Pro and I'm having problems with it overheating, is there anything I can do to keep it cooled down?

I am a new Mac owner, and I'm currently stationed in Kuwait. My MacBook gets super hot on the bottom and it's performance starts to degrade. The weather here is in the mid 80's now, I can only imagine this problem will get much worse once the temps go above 100 in the near future.

MacBook Pro and Sow Leopard video problem

When I connect MacBook Pro using Snow Leopard to LCD projector, the projected image is very problematic. Two symptoms. First, the video has a flicker to it. Second. menu lists have overlapping double and triple images so they cannot be selected accurately. The result is that demonstrations of sofware such as Final Cut pro cannot be done effectviely. Does this sound like a vieocard giving up and needing logic board replacement?

Late 2013 Mac Pro and Samsung 4K U32D970Q Problems

I'm at my wits end. I really wish 4K displays were truly plug-n-play with new Macs.
I purchased a Samsung 4K U32D970Q from Amazon due to a couple positive reviews from users stating it works with their 2013 MP. It's a beautiful screen, much better uniformity than the LG 4K I sent back but it has a huge problem with random flickering. And by flickering I mean while watching videos, scrolling a website quickly the screen distorts and "blinks/flickers" momentarily then goes back to normal. I've tried a different DisplayPort>mDP cable along with the provided cables and same issue. The monitor is running SST at 60Hz.

This is actually my 2nd monitor as I did an exchange with Amazon same issue. I tried to contact Samsung and what a joke that support is. I get a guy who said he has no idea then sent me a firmware update list... that hasn't been updated since last March. No help.
I've already reset pram and smc, tried different TB ports without any luck.
Is it just wise to stick to the officially supported, and very expensive, list of 4K monitors or go QHD and wait for the 2016 MP for true 4K+ support?

I took your advice to setup a Genius appointment but they stopped me at higher tech support over the phone. I was told that because my current NEC 1920x1200 display, and the LG 4K cinema I returned, don't have any issues it's not my D300 gfx cards. He said bringing it in would only verify that so it'd be a waste of time.
I was then told to return it, we can't officially guarantee 3rd party compatibility etc etc. So sadly my saga with the Samsung is coming to a close. It's seriously the most beautiful screen I've ever used (no dead pixels, only slight contrast lost at the extreme edges but no worse than my aging NEC) which is unfortunate because going back to a non-4K is depressing.
I'm either going to pick up a QHD NEC or a refurbished Dell 4k 32in from Amazon since they have them used for about $1200 right now. Thanks again to everyone for the help.

Xp pro and live 24 bit problem

Whenever i play music or a video of anything and i go to adjust my volume with my keyboard(microsoft wireless comfort keyboard.0A) the sound studders...it almost sounds like a cd skipping almost...i've tried uninstalling it and installing it with no luck...i'm pretty sure i have the most up to date driver as i have checked quite a few times...

Now first thing.
( note if you did what I think you did and just deleted the creative icon in WCP, oh no. DOH. You will need to reinstall your Li've drivers).:
:Add remove programmes and uninstall the drivers and any media apps in here.
2:Reboot in safe mode: Run Driver cleaner ( read the read me file for it )
( Do not reboot yet. )
3:Go through C:\programmes files and delete the creative folder.
4:In C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information, and go through all folders and any that have any reference to Creative, delete the folder, not the install sheild folder, JUST the folder/s within that have creative files.
5:Go into dev-man and remove anything in here that is for creative.
6: type in run msconfig and go to startup and untick anything in here for creative.
7: note down any of creative startup items.
8: type in run regedit and then type in edit - find startupreg.
9:expand the item startup reg and delete the key/s that you unticked in msconfig startup items.
If there are no items in msconfig or startupreg, dont worry, thats fine.
reboot normally
Now you should be right and have nothing left over.
Install the kx-drivers and then go through the settings for the driver set and set it all up for 5..
In windows control panel make sure its set to 5. surround sound.
Best of luck with that, should keep ya busy for a bit.

HELP! I have a new mac book pro and I'm having problems getting it to print. We are trying to do it through the network (wireless). It keeps pausing or telling me the connection failed

Ok. I have a new macbookpro which I love. However, we can't get it to print. We just got Comcast with a modem and wireless router. We can all get into the net wirelessly (4 of us). My son set our PC to share the printer, gave it a name and got his PC to work through it. Mine kept pausing (it's been a week now). Finally connected directly to the printer and it immediately went out and found the drivers (for all HP photosmart series) and installed them (I think they are installed. At least they are listed under drivers in the print/fax section). We then did a test print with it hooked up and it worked. Back to wireless and it keeps pausing or telling me it can no longer communicate with the printer. Tried going back and printing while connected to the cable and it didn't work. Several pages of one liners with gibberish on it (some words like fax, document it) but then it failed. I did tell it the wrong model of printer the other day and there is a picture of it under the real printer (which is listed by the name we gave it on my pc). But I know have the correct driver and it shows it in the bar under the driver listing. The other picture of the wrong model is not highlighted and I don't know how to delete it). It just keeps pausing and telling me I'm no longer connected to the printer. BTW, It tells me the printer is ready and shows the name prior to trying to print. We've tried everything including many suggestions from others. Any suggestions? I find it strange I was able to print yesterday while connected directly and tonight it failed (otherwise the printer is working for others). THANKS SO MUCH! Sapphire Theatrix 550 Pro and Neo 2 Platinum problem

Anyone manged to install and get a Sapphire Theatrix 550 (ATi Theater 550) TV Capture card to work on a MSI NEO 2 Platinum motherboard? I have two computers using the NEO 2 and the Theatrix does not work on either. The "ATI Unified AVStream" device has a conflict with the "PCI Standard PCI-to-PCI bridge". The resources section is greyed out on the "PCI Standard PCI-toPCI bridge" device. I have installed and tried both Windows Media Center and Windows XP
I have no idea how to correct this. Anyone have any ideas or better still solutions?

I have returned the original motherboard as It would only post to the "Platinum logo" 4 time out of 10 starts! I have now installed the Theatrix card into my other machine which also supports a MSI Neo2 Platinum MB.
Unfortunately I can not try all the PCI slots on this machine as it is water cooled and the GFX and chipset waterblocks prevent access to slots 1 and 2
I did try slot 3 and when I attempt to install the drivers the computer resest it's self consistantly towards the end of the installation! I have tried running the ATI Catalyst Driver setup program and installing manually and the machine resets it's self at the end without warning!
The card is now in slot 4 and the drivers installed. However I am getting "This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)" like before.
