K7T-pro2 not boot with radeon 9200SE

Hi,
I have a problem with a radeon 9200SE (128MB ddr). The sistem with this VGA card don't boot. When I turn on the pc, it emits 3 beeps (one long, two short) and the screen is blanck. I have just read other thread but I don't think that is a PSU problem. This are the values of my PSU:
OUTPUT    300W MAX
Orange: +3.3V 14A
Yellow: +12V 10A
Blue: -12V 0.5A
Red: +5V 25A
White: -5V 0.5A
Purple: +5 VSB 3 A
Model: WS-300P+P4
In the video card box these are the system Requirements:
Intel Pentium 4/III/II/Celeron, AMD K6/Duron/Athlon/Athlon XP or compatible with AGP 2x(3.3V), 4x(1.5V), 8x(0.8V) or Universal AGP 3.0 bus configuration(2x,4x,8x)
If I take off the radeon and I put my old TNT with 16MB Ram the pc boot perfectly.
These are my system components:
MSI K7T Pro2 ver. 1.0
Athlon 750 MHz
256 + 128 MB RAM
Sapphire radeon 9200SE
DVD-ROM
CD-RW
10GB IBM HD
20GB Samsung HD
Sound Blaster Live
Dlink DFE-538 10/100 fast ethernet
Dlink pci usb 2.0 controller
My previous pc had the same components with a ASUS P2-99B motherboard with a Pentium III 500MHz and all worked fine. The ASUS chipset was an intel 440ZX with AGP (1x,2x) and the PSU was an AT 200W (sorry but I don't have any other info about the old PSU).
Please help me, and sorry for my bad english!!
Gabri

Thanks for the replies.
In my motherboard there is not card near the AGP. The memories are 256MB PC133MHz and 128MB PC100 MHz. All the system but with motherboard ASUS P2-99B with intel chipset 440ZX and 200W AT PSU with +5V 20A and +12V 8A worked fine. I also tried to change BIOS setting but nothing happened.
Thanks Gabri

  • More detail and a reply for the CQ50 - 130US will not boot with 8gb ram post

The specs, on the web site say that the  max memory supported is 3GB DDR2 because the notebook was built with the OS Vista(32 bit) installed so that’s why the manual has the 3 GB max. memory supported limit. The 32 bit OS can’t address memory over 3.12 GB.   To my mind that is not a spec. but rather a tech. writer who made a mistake and copied the sales literature.  With Windows 7(64 bit) Pro. installed the OS can address up to192GB of memory if the system supports it.  Other Compaq and HP Notebooks can deal with 8GB of memory installed. That’s why I would think HP’s could easily fix this with a patch or use one of their other BIOS’s.
The difference between 4GB and 6GB is that with 6GB system runs faster and the display quality has improved.  I have set the cache size to large and the executive paging is set to off in the registry. The menu(System Properties - Performance Options – Advanced – Virtual Memory) is set to automatically manage the paging file size.

You should keep it in the original; thread you started.

  • MBP15 1.83 GHz Will Not Boot With 3GB Upgrade

I'm trying to increase my MBP's ram to the 3GB limit. This is a 1.83 GHz 15" model.
It will not boot with 2GB & 1GB sticks of identical mfg & specs. It will boot with one or the other...
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Stradioti

    Hi
according to the Apple specs for the 1.83GHz mbp's - 2Gig of memory is the limit......
512MB (single SODIMM) of PC2-5300 (667MHz) DDR2 memory on 1.83GHz configuration; and 1GB (single SODIMM) on 2.0GHz configuration; two SODIMM slots support up to 2GB
    Crucial Memory says the same.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

What lead_org is referring to is commonly known as "re-balling" which involves unsoldering the Southbridge chip from the planar, replacing all (6-700) solder balls with new ones and then re-attaching it under heat/pressure.

  • K9AGM3-F does not boot with PCIe 4x device in PCIe 16x slot

K9AGM3-F motherboard does not boot with PCIe 4x Intel PRO/1000 PT dual port network interface card installed into PCIe 16x slot on motherboard. The boot process stops in BIOS screens. The motherboard works flawlessly without this NIC. K9VGM-V + Intel PRO/1000 PT boot successfully. I tried three K9AGM3-F motherboards and two Intel PRO/1000 PT NICs in different combinations, the results are always the same. It appears to be some kind of BIOS problem.

Minor point, probably irrelevant: I said you install the driver f i r s t. Then you put the physical card in.
The driver is completely irrelevant because the driver is a part of operating system, but as I already wrote before the boot process stops long before the OS start.
Quote from: Fredrik Åsenius on 09-April-08, 22:52:27
    No stability issues otherwise?
PSU is always good to know.
The PSU is irrelevant too because the same NICs work in the PCIe 1x slot of the same motherboard with the same PSU.

  • T60 does not boot with Intel T7600G CPU

I replaced my Intel Core Duo T2400 with Intel Core 2 Duo T7600G CPU in ThinkPad T60(1951-CTO) laptop. However, laptop does not boot with Intel Core 2 Duo T7600G CPU. It doesn't even complete the POST: https://db.tt/8UL8FlE0 As seen in the video, I plugged in the power adapter at 0:02 and pressed the power button at 0:06. One can hear a little click made by optical device. If I press the power button again at 0:16, this click does not happen. BIOS version is 2.27. I have reset the BIOS settings by disconnecting the CMOS battery, but this didn't help. Once I replace the T7600G with my old T2400 then I'm able to boot the laptop.
Any ideas what might cause such behavior? Shouldn't there be beep codes in case of CPU issues? What else to try?

Since you came from a T2400, does your T60 even have a Rev. 3 motherboard? If it does not, then no Core 2 Duo will work, only Core Duo's.
I don't claim to be the top authority on T60 motherboards, but I believe any will use a Core 2 T7600, 7400, 7200 if the firmware is updated.
My own experience mirrors what TuuS has stated. I have yet to see a T60/p from any walk of life with a recent BIOS that will bark at a proper Core 2 Duo CPU.

  • HP G62 Will Not Boot With Power Cord Plugged In

I have an HP G62 laptop that is about four years old. I've had a couple of problems with it before that were resolved relatively satisfactorily, however five or six months ago I started having a new issue. The laptop will not boot with the charging cord plugged in, whether there is a battery in it or not. Nor will it return from sleep mode (screen black, status light on the power button flashing) with the charging cord plugged in, whether there is a battery in it or not. It simply shuts down and I end up with an error screen the next time I boot up. I have tried other charging cords and it has been the same, however the cord will still charge the battery. This means I have to charge the battery, unplug the cord, boot up the computer. This annoyance is worsened by the fact that the battery  is old and unable to  hold charge for very long at all and I fear one day even the battery won't be enough to boot the computer. Can I fix the power cord issue? Should I buy a new battery? Or let my computer give up the ghost and scrounge for a new one? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the charger input could possibly need replaced and/or the charger

  • 2960X-48FPS-L does not boot with IOS 15.2-2E

    Hello,
i got a bunch of 2960X switches. But some of them do not boot with the new IOS Version. The older 15.0-2 EX do boot.
Does anybody have a clue why this happens? During the Bootprocess it just stops to load:
File "flash:/c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-2.E.bin" uncompressed and installed, entry poin0x3000
    executing...
    Loading "flash:/c2960x-universalk9-m
    Thank you for your help.

On the ones that cannot boot 15.2(2)E, can you break the boot cycle using the "Mode" button?
If the answer is "yes", then try the following:
    1.  Copy the IOS BIN file from a working switch to a USB flash drive;
    2.  In ROMmon, force the switch to boot the IOS from your USB flash drive;
    3.  If it does not work, try a different IOS, like the EX3 for instance.  Try the same process, boot the BIN from your USB flash drive.
    4.  If it works, try a different IOS, like EX3, for instance.  Downgrade the IOS from 15.2(2)E to EX3 and see if the switch can boot normally.
This exercise will determine where the fault is coming from:  IOS bug or a hardware batch problem.
To determine if you'e got a hardware batch problem, you may need to look at the serial number of the switches working and not working.  From left to right, look at the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th numerals.  This will determine the year and month your appliances were made.

  • ThinkCentre M93p not booting with WD MyBook USB 3.0 drive

    Hi!
I have a serious problem as boot freezes on my ThinkCentre M93p Tower at the Lenovo logo when the Western Digital MyBook USB 3.0 drive is attached at boot time. I have already commented on this in this thread:
    http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/T420-Not-booting-with-3TB-external-USB3-dri...
It seems to be an UEFI / BIOS problem and I hope that there will be a resolution soon, as I like the Lenovo ThinkCentres and would like to buy more for our company. This problem seems to be present on Lenovo notebooks and desktops when looking at other posts here.
    Regards,
    Anguel

This bug has been driving me mad since I received my P900 Thinkstation - as PeaB0dy notes, the hardware is great but the software (pretty much in general) is really disappointing.
Have you actually opened a support ticket with Lenovo?
I had a problem with my M93p SFF relating to an older external USB drive from Seagate, and an apparent incompatibility with management of the drive across soft reboots.  I opened a support ticket and got superb results from Lenovo engineering over the next few months.  I sent them the drive to have (as I had no use for it, replacing it with a new Verbatim USB drive which was fully 100% compatible with the machine and saw none of the problems I saw with the Seagate drive).
The eventual outcome was a public fix in a new version of the BIOS to handle the unique characteristics of the Seagate drive.
So, have you actually opened a ticket with Lenovo? They need to have something official to start from when new problems are discovered.  The M93 machines are "new", so issues of compatibility is not a surprise to me.  Especially when UEFI, GPT, large drives >2GB, and Windows 8 are concerned.

    Hello...
I have one MS-6330 Lite K7T Pro2 Ver:1 and it Support AGP 2.0 1x/2x/4x, and I want to buy a GeForce FX 5200 that works for AGP 8x...
Question, this GeForce FX5200 will work with my MotherBoard (that supports AGP 2.0 1x/2x/4x) ?!?!
I think that´s no problem, and i´ll not have ALL the features that the board offers, but will work... do you guys know about?!

    extracted from http://www.answers.com/topic/accelerated-graphics-port
    Quote
AGP cards are backward and forward compatible within limits. 1.5 V-only keyed cards will not go into 3.3 V slots and vice versa, though "Universal" slots exist which accept either type of card. AGP Pro cards (rarely used) will not fit into standard slots, but standard AGP cards will work in a Pro slot. Some newer cards like nVidia's GeForce 6-series or ATI's X800-series only have keys for 1.5 V to prevent them from installing in older mainboards without 1.5 V support. The graphic cores can only handle 0.8 V for AGP8x and 1.5 V for AGP4x and will be damaged by 3.3 V slots. Some of the last modern cards with 3.3 V support were the nVIDIA GeForce FX5000-series and the ATI Radeon 9500/9700/9800(R350) (but not 9600/9800(R360)).
to answer your question, that card will work in your board

  • System will not boot with Seagate 3Tb expansion drive plugged in.

I have a  HP Pavilion HPE h8- 1214 Desktop ,  I recieved a Seagate 3TB expasion drive as a gift but when plugged in, the system will not boot. It turns on but thats it.  It never gets to the boot sequence. I have it plugged into the top 3.0 usb slot and have tried all of the other slots as well with no sucess. But if I leave it unplugged the system boots right up. I can then plug it in and it works fine. I have plugged it into my wifes HP All- In- One and it boots fine and works.  I have a WD 2TB drive that works fine as well on my system . I have searched Segates support for hours and all they say is to change the boot sequence. Have tried that, no go.  What they dont get is no matter what I do if that drive is plugged in it never gets as far as booting and reading the boot sequence. Please help. Thank you!

    Hi NcBunky,
Are you using Win 7 64 bit? Did you update the Texas Instruments (TI) USB 3.0 XHCI Host Controller?
I have an H8 1380t PC. Updated the TI USB 3.0 driver and had the same problem.
When booting the PC with the USB 3.0 external drive connected to the PC the PC would not boot. When booting the PC with only the mouse, keyboard, and a USB 2.0 external drive attached the PC would boot. Once booted you could attach the USB 3.0 drive and it worked fine.
Solution was to roll back (reinstall) the TI USB 3.0 XHCI Host Controller to the original factory installed driver.
System now boots with the external USB 3.0 drive attached.

  • K430 will not boot with XFX R9 380 4 GB

The card would not display when I first installed it, the computer would turn on with all fans (including card's fans), but it didn't seem to have booted into Windows (it would turn off with a press of the power button rather than a long hold). Integrated grahics will also not display with R9 380 installed. Putting back in my old card (XFX Radeon 7770), it works fine along with the integrated graphics. Leaving the card in the PCI slot with the two 6 pin plugs out let's the integrated graphics work. The card worked twice, but it seemed almost random. Once, switching power cables around, I tried one 6 pin and one 6 pin adapter connected to two 4 pin plugs. After moving the computer around to clean up the cables though, it wouldn't work again.  Then I updated drivers for chipset, cpu, and discrete VGA for my system according to Lenevo's automatic software and it worked, but after closing up the case and moving my desktop around, it stopped again. Both 6 pin plugs are secured properly and the card looks to be fully in the PCI slot. Old XFX 7770 works fine in the slot and the PSU.
Tried the card with a 750 watt Corsair PSU and same results.
Testing the card in another system showed the card working fine.
XFX support suggested updating my BIOS firmware, but Lenovo has no BIOS update listed for my model and I can't seem to find any on my own. XFX support suggested using ASRock, but their windows program closes and I'm hesistant to flash it.  A lot of other posts show this model having trouble with newer graphics cards. There is a legacy fix through BIOS, but it didn't work.
I'm really pulling my hair out with this one, any help would be great. IdeaCentre K430Machine Type: 3109MTM: 31093AUCPU: i52320Chipset: Intel Z75BIOS: Lenovo E8KT24AUS

Maybe you have a bad stick of RAM. Try one 4 GB stick one at a time and boot with each one.
I have checked you spec's and it says that the max amount of RAM that you MoBo can handle is 3 GB, it's interesting that it can boot with 6GB, even if you are running 64 bit.

I have no experience with custom BIOS settings and I would recommend not to experiment around here as you can easily "Brick" your laptop. While there may a BIOS out there that will allow your laptop to recognise 8GB I would leave it alone a 6GB. In reality all you really need is 4GB. Even the most intensive applications are not going to use 6GB. I am running 8GB on my dv8 and I simply can not put a dent in it.
I know there are some custom HP laptops that are running 32GB of RAM and it shoots the price up to 15,000.00 $ !!
Maybe someday they will come out with some game that will actually need that much or some fancy video editing software, but for now I can't see the point.
Try testing the RAM first though.

  • Airport extreme will not boot with USB hard disk plugged in.

    Hi there,
I'm using the Airport Extreme Base Station, and I find that if I have a USB hard disk plugged into it, it will not boot up, it only hang-ups with an amber light, and stays there indefinitely.  It's not a terrible issue because it can be overcome by unplugging the disk then rebooting, but it's irritating, especially when I'm not home and there is a power temporary outage and my wife can no longer access the internet or I can no longer access my disks over the internet.
Is there a solution to this problem?
    Thanks,
    Marc

I'm going to have to replace the unit, as I'm unable to turn off DHCP services, which is wreaking havoc on my server based environment.
Considering THIS issue *AND* the major DHCP show stopper, frankly, I'm debating etiher the fire pit or tossing the damned thing into the intersection and watching it be reduced to the trash that it is.
Either way, there'll be 7 feet of pack ice in **** before I buy another Apple networking product.
I'll decide later, with a jaundiced eye, regarding our XServe unit. Might reformat it to Linux...

  • IMac will not boot with OS9 or OS8 Disk

    Hello,
I have a bit of a problem. I am trying to upgrade a friends iMac to 10.3.9. He had 10.2.xx on it. This is a slot loading blue G3. I went to do the upgrade from the 10.3 disks and it told me I needed a firmware upgrade. I got that tried to run it, but was told OS 9 is not on the system. No problem, I thought I could install that without incident. I put in my factory CD and all I got was a flashing folder and after a short delay, it booted into OSX. I then went to the prefs and told it to startup from the disk. Restarted. Short delay and then the flashing icon came up. So I decided to boot from Disk Warrior and format the drive. Rebooted with OS 9 disk and problem persisted. I tried the usual stuff, PRAM, took apart set SMU. No luck. Saw on a forum, that my battery could be low or dead. I purchased a new one set PRAM and the same thing happened. I am all out of ideas and am hoping one of you out there has had this happen to them and found a solution.
    Thanks
    Quadra

Are you sure that Mac OS 9 CD is bootable. There are some similar looking discs (white with a big orange 9) that are for "upgrading" and cannot be used to boot. It should say something like "full installation" on it if it is bootable. If it's a disc that came with Macs, not the retail disc, it usually needs to be the one that came with model.
Also, depending on the specific iMac G3 slot-loader you have, it may not boot it if the iMac originally came with a later version of Mac OS 9. For example, if the original OS was Mac OS 9.0.4, an installation disc with 9.0 will probably not work (because it is earlier). However, a 9.1 installation disc will work.
