K7T pro2, problems with multiplyer.

I just unlocked my cpu (palomino 1700+) with superglue and conductive paint. caus i wanted to overclock it with the multiplyer.
original clock is 10.5 * 133 now i can run in 11.5 *133.
When i try higher like 14 * 133 the bios sets it to 5 *133 and refuses to save it as 14.
Any comments on how to go around this problem ?
I´ve downloaded the newest bios.
And the cpu is running at 40 degrees celsius so i have no heating problems.

Ok,   that wasnt much after all that work.
But thanks for the reply.
Do u think i should get some active cooling on the northbridge instead of the passive that comes w the package?

  • Problem with multiplied library in GRR3

    Hello,
We have problem with GRR3 shortdump after running this T_code. After performing trace, it showed that problem are multiplied libraries in report painter. Namely, during import of RP update via GR58 somehow library ZCS is doubled and program have short dump because of it.....Strange is because such a behaviouir is not present in test system.
In order to delete library, first i have to delete all report/r.groups which are connected to it(over 100).... I tried with first report/r.group and succeed. Problem is because i expected that this report will be available becuse it is doubled but no such a case. Now, i am affraid that when i delete all report/r.groups and finally library, it will delete not one but both libraries and those reports will be not present anymore.
Did somebody have same case and advice regarding it for me?
    Thanks.
    Predrag.

What about this problem?. Have you seen the tool panel?. Is too high. What can be the problem?. Best regards.

  • Z68A-GD65 (B3), problem with multiplier!

    Hello!
I'm trying to use 50x multiplier on this board, but everytime I do that, it goes down to either 48x or 47x. I'm reading this is an issue with 23.1 bios?
Anyone else have a solution to this? The latest bios on the homepage for the motherboard at MSI is 22.4. Where is these new bios everybody uses to get to 50x?
    Thanks in advance!

Which BIOS do you currently run as Primary ?
What is your CPU Adjust Ratio set to ? and what are your Core 1, 2, 3 and 4 set to ?
btw I removed your double post in the beta section. No need to duplicate your posts.
    Hello! Sorry for my doublepost!
Well, just to remind you again, I have the G3 version and I'm using the latest BIOS posted in the beta-section. They are the E7681IMS.N37 posted by Junior on 21st October.
This problem was in the shipped BIOS aswell. 23.1 I think they where.
I'm using 100Mhz BLCK, with a multiplier of 48. If thats what you mean by CPU Adjust Ratio. I have turned off Turbo-bosst and EIST (Doesn't make a diffrence, it downthrottled to 46 and 47 anyway).
Otherwise, everything is default on the bios except my vcore which is set to 1.430.
I might add that this was not a problem when I wrongly flashed my BIOS with the betas for the B3version (If you read the second post in this thread). But I don't want to use BIOS'es for other motherboards. Also, these bioses for the B3-version showed correct readings of FSB in CPU-z, whereas the the BIOS I'm using right now are showing 99.8Mhz.
Sorry for my English, I hope you understand. And again, thanks for your extremely fast answers!

  • K7T turbo2 problem with HD

    K7T Turbo2 mainboard(V3.5, KT-133A chipset) with Athlon XP 1800+ CPU.
When I put Seagate 80gb drive,100 ST380021A at primary, WD 4GB as secondary. Says "Can not load operating system".  When I place 4GB western digital as primary and Seagate as secondary computer boots
fine.  can read secondary hard drive(80GB) just fine.  Seagate drive has OS windows 2000 loaded onto it.  ST works fine when I pop it as a primary on other systems win2k would load just fine.   Deleted OS folder and boot.ini from ST drive and tried to boot as primary, same error message.  Just can not get friggin mainboard to read my 80GB HDD as primary!!!
please help before I take this mainboard back...

What does your boot.ini contain?  It might be pointing to the primary slave, though i do see your point as to why it boots in primary in other comps.  Just post your boot.ini and I'll look to see if there is anything wrong or out of place.

  • K7T Pro2-A and 1,2 GHz Duron? Will it work?

Hi, I've had a K7T Pro2-A with 650 MHz Duron for about a year and a half (not overclocked). I'm going to buy a new 1,2 GHz Duron processor but I keep hearing about these cases where this kind of motherboard has broken down after 1 or 2 years of use. (voltage regulators?)
Would the 1,2 GHz Duron cause the motherboard to break or can I install it safely?
What about the warranty, if it breaks? If I remember correctly I had 1 year warranty originally from the store where I bought it. Obviously the voltage reg thing is caused by faulty components so could I get it fixed under the warranty anyway?
Actually I'm hoping that my motherboard wouldn't fry after I install the new processor but I'm just asking these things in advance

    Hi,
I see no reason it wouldn't support the Duron 1.3G....
But I have no reports on people using this combination...

  • Can anyone help with K7t Pro2-A (MS-6330) (boot problems)

Well, my computer seems to have died on me.  When I try to reboot, first I get no response, just the DLED signal red red green red (0010) which the manual says corresponds to "keyboard may be damaged or not plugged in properly".  So I reset the keyboard (it's the logitech wireless) and I can get it to start booting up (I see the Video card info followed by the memory test).  But then it just stops and gives me the red green green green (0111) which the manual describes as "Assign IRQs to PCI devices" and under possible problems says "Stop".  And the computer just sits there.  Then I have to repeat the entire process, including reseting the keyboard.
Also, I can't enter setup, once I hit DEL it just goes locks up at the 0111 error.
Can anyone provide any info?  Thanks in advance.
    My system is AMD Athlon 900, K7T Pro2A (MS-6330)
    WIN 98
    384MB RAM
    10G and 40 G hard drive
I think the Bios is ver 2.9 but I can't be certain.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, and does anyone think I should try clearing the CMOS and rebooting?

    Stav03,
Since you have a KT133 Motherboard and you posted in the nVidia/AMD/SiS Motherboard Forum, I moved the thread to Via Forum for you.

  • MS-6330 Lite K7T Pro2 Ver:1 with GeForce FX 5200, does it works?!

    Hello...
I have one MS-6330 Lite K7T Pro2 Ver:1 and it Support AGP 2.0 1x/2x/4x, and I want to buy a GeForce FX 5200 that works for AGP 8x...
Question, this GeForce FX5200 will work with my MotherBoard (that supports AGP 2.0 1x/2x/4x) ?!?!
I think that´s no problem, and i´ll not have ALL the features that the board offers, but will work... do you guys know about?!

    extracted from http://www.answers.com/topic/accelerated-graphics-port
    Quote
AGP cards are backward and forward compatible within limits. 1.5 V-only keyed cards will not go into 3.3 V slots and vice versa, though "Universal" slots exist which accept either type of card. AGP Pro cards (rarely used) will not fit into standard slots, but standard AGP cards will work in a Pro slot. Some newer cards like nVidia's GeForce 6-series or ATI's X800-series only have keys for 1.5 V to prevent them from installing in older mainboards without 1.5 V support. The graphic cores can only handle 0.8 V for AGP8x and 1.5 V for AGP4x and will be damaged by 3.3 V slots. Some of the last modern cards with 3.3 V support were the nVIDIA GeForce FX5000-series and the ATI Radeon 9500/9700/9800(R350) (but not 9600/9800(R360)).
to answer your question, that card will work in your board

  • K7T-pro2 not boot with radeon 9200SE

    Hi,
I have a problem with a radeon 9200SE (128MB ddr). The sistem with this VGA card don't boot. When I turn on the pc, it emits 3 beeps (one long, two short) and the screen is blanck. I have just read other thread but I don't think that is a PSU problem. This are the values of my PSU:
    OUTPUT    300W MAX
    Orange: +3.3V 14A
    Yellow: +12V 10A
    Blue: -12V 0.5A
    Red: +5V 25A
    White: -5V 0.5A
    Purple: +5 VSB 3 A
    Model: WS-300P+P4
In the video card box these are the system Requirements:
Intel Pentium 4/III/II/Celeron, AMD K6/Duron/Athlon/Athlon XP or compatible with AGP 2x(3.3V), 4x(1.5V), 8x(0.8V) or Universal AGP 3.0 bus configuration(2x,4x,8x)
If I take off the radeon and I put my old TNT with 16MB Ram the pc boot perfectly.
    These are my system components:
    MSI K7T Pro2 ver. 1.0
    Athlon 750 MHz
    256 + 128 MB RAM
    Sapphire radeon 9200SE
    DVD-ROM
    CD-RW
    10GB IBM HD
    20GB Samsung HD
    Sound Blaster Live
    Dlink DFE-538 10/100 fast ethernet
    Dlink pci usb 2.0 controller
My previous pc had the same components with a ASUS P2-99B motherboard with a Pentium III 500MHz and all worked fine. The ASUS chipset was an intel 440ZX with AGP (1x,2x) and the PSU was an AT 200W (sorry but I don't have any other info about the old PSU).
Please help me, and sorry for my bad english!!
    Gabri

    Thanks for the replies.
In my motherboard there is not card near the AGP. The memories are 256MB PC133MHz and 128MB PC100 MHz. All the system but with motherboard ASUS P2-99B with intel chipset 440ZX and 200W AT PSU with +5V 20A and +12V 8A worked fine. I also tried to change BIOS setting but nothing happened.
    Thanks Gabri

  • K7T Pro2 Ver:1 (MS-6330) Capacitor problem

I'm working on a computer for a friend.
It has a K7T Pro2 Ver:1 (MS-6330) motherboard. The Chhsi 2700uF 6.3V capacitor at c172 appears to have failed. The other Chhsi 2700uF 6.3V capacitor at c171 looks ok.
These caps are along the side of the AGP slot. The failed cap is nearest the memory banks.
I did a search of the forum and found a similar problem at:
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=49478.0
Does this board have the same voltage regulator problem?
If I replaced the caps, how long might they last if the regulator is questionable?
Should the caps be replaced with a higher value cap, ie 2700uF 10V?
I have the equipment to swap out the caps pretty easily at work, but would it be worth it?
Can the voltage regulator be tested easily?
    Thanks for any help.
    Paul

    Hi,
I'd definitely replace any other caps of the same brand and value, and probably any others of the same brand. Make sure they are low-ESR types.
I replaced about 20 caps on my K7N420 board a few months ago, and all but a couple of them had gone bad by then. I also had to replace four transistors which I think were part of the memory voltage regulator circuits. Boards made in the 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2002 are probably the worst affected, as they were loaded with capacitors which had faulty electrolyte.
As for whether it's worth repairing, or just upgrading? In my case, it cost me about $20 (Australian) for the parts, and a couple of hours of my time, so it was cheaper than paying say $100 or so for a new mobo (and then wanting to upgrade the CPU, and the memory etc.) If I had had to pay someone else to replace the parts, it probably would not have been worth it. The other thing to consider is the impact on the environment. It's more environmentally friendly to do a simple repair on a mobo than to throw it out and replace it. But eventually, the urge to upgrade will become overwhelming. So it's a matter of personal judgement.
    Cheers

  • Strange sound problem on K7T Pro2-A

    Hello,
I have this problem with my onboard soundcard (playing mp3's, cd's, ...):
at normal speakerlevels i can't hear any music, but if i turn my volumeknob way up, i can hear it very faintly.
I checked everything i could think of: the speakers, cabling, volumesettings, reinstalled drivers (soundcard is still detected by WinXP), installed the Audiodrivers from viaarena.com, checked biossettings...
This problem started when i (temporarily) changed my floppydrive for a Zipdrive. I changed the bios just to get rid of the error there's no floppydrive, but nothing else.
I left my case open after i placed the Zipdrive, and because i read on this forum there were some issues with onboard sound & grounding, i closed it again, but to no avail. Now i'm running out of idea's.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I have a K7T  Pro v.1 BIOS v.3.0, Duron 1200 Mhz with VIA 4 in 1 v.4.38.
i have had some serious problems recently, including the death-led's. After reading the thread in the old forum about the problems with the MS-6330 series I'm getting pretty nervous about the future of my poor MB.
But what i've been wondering about is wether these problems might have something to do with the AGP port and using heavy 3D graphics. I have read that several users have provoked failures when using 3D-screensavers.
My problems seemed to start when i installed an MSI G2mx400 AGP card (replacing a Cardexpert SiS 6326 8Mb PCI card). Using the DirectX Diagnosis tool (v. 8.0 and 8.1) my machine crashes on the 3D-tests. I've also tried an ATI Rage 128 16Mb AGP card with both Win2k and WinXP with exactly the same problem.
After finally getting the four red-leds I tried replacing the CPU with a Duron 600Mhz, but nothing happened so I guess the advice about doing that somewhere earlier in this post doesn't always work... Eventually i managed to wake the system by shorting the CMOS.
After this rescue I have replaced the AGP card with my old PCI card and it seems to be working fine so far. So after all I've been reading about the bad/overheating chips and capacitators and so on, I'm thinking maybe the AGP card could be one of the causes of this?
It would be interesting to hear if anyone has experience with the failure rate of AGP vs PCI...

  • Problem with K7T Pro (MS-6330)

I've been used MSI K7T Pro (MS-6330) for 2 years and it worked just fine. But recently the problem occurred. After I've upgraded CPU from Duron 600 to TB 1.2 GHz, when I run a heavy-loaded application such as 3DMark, 3D games (UT2003) my computer will stop working (IMO: my case just like the classic K7T Pro) but when I touched the SC1155 chip, it just warm (it won't burn my finger). So I'm confused that is my mobo defected or not?
Oh, almost forgot .. my mobo was modified and can adjust multiplier.
    FYI:
I've tried underclock CPU to 950 MHz and I've found that 950 work fine (or at least it use very long time to run full-loaded and then die). Once I forgot to plugged electric-cable for my heatsink fan and temp goes 66-68C and still working normally (not running 3D app.)
So, can anyone suggest me what is the problem with my mobo?
Thank you very much and apologize for my language  :P
    My Spec:
AMD Athlon (TB) 1.2 GHz (but now run @950MHz) VCore 1.55 (tried 1.55-1.85 result is the same)
MSI K7T Pro (MS-6330) modified to adjust multiplier
    250W Powersupply
    256 MB PC133
    Winfast GF2MX 32 MB

    Lite-on DVD16x
    2 Harddisk (40GB and 4 GB)

    Hi,
RMA the board, contact your nearest MSI office and ask for the RMA department.
There is not much more you can do.

  • K7T Turbo2 (6330v5) problem (with locked Tbreds)

    Hi,
I've recently bought a K7T Turbo2 board (6330v5) OEM version (green PCB) made probably for Fujitsu-Siemens UK. They probably didn't need those board anymore and sold them (a lot of wholesalers have them in my country now).
Anyway I think the board I bought is damaged, but I not sure.
    The problem is that it won't POST with locked T-breds. I've tried a 2000+ (3rd week of 2004) and a 2400+ locked T-bred (46th week of 2003) and the PC haven't started.
But with a T-Bird 1400Mhz, a 1700+ and 1800+ Palomino (probably locked) and 2400+ unlocked T-bred the board started without any problems.
Is this the problem with new XP processors (produced after the 39th week 2003 and internally locked) and this board or I have a damaged board?
    TIA,
    Max

Well, I didn't know it was the OEM version when I was buying it...  But in this case I don't think the bios is the problem. The board looks virtually the same as the normal board.
    And it boots with a pre-39 (24th week of 2003) T-bred 2400+, so it's not a lack of compatibility with T-bred issue.
For me it seems that this board has problem with T-bred made after the 39th week of 2003 (internally locked ones).
So I need to know if all of those boards have the same problem, or only this one?
BTW. Currently I'm running my unlocked T-bred 2400+ on a Abit KT7A board, and I've tried the same locked T-bred 2400+ that failed on MSI K7T Turbo2 on my abit board and it also didn't boot. So maybe there's something wrong the KT133A chip which makes KT133A boards incompatible with new locked T-breds?
Of course the locked T-bred runs fine on a KT400 board or a nforce2 ultra400 boards...

  • K7T266 PRO2-RU and Problem with a FEW DISPLAY ADAPTERS ...

    Hello ,
I was using my mainboard with 32 MB Creative Riva TNT2 Ultra until creative's fan was damaged . I tried 16 Creative TNT2 m64 display adapter of a friend of me , but it didn't work with K7T266 PRO2-RU. Many sounds are coming from mainboard while D-LED shows Testing RTC (or boot attemp, I'm not sure about that) (Same symptoms with "no graphic adapter" - I tried again after unplugged the display adapter - )
At the beginning I was thinking that the 16 MB creative graph adap. was broken . So , today I bought a new graphic adapter 128 MB of Creative 3d Blaster5 Radeon 9200SE . When I plugged it into mainboard , I saw the same problems with 16 MB Creative TNT2 m64 . After that , I found another 32 MB Creative TNT2 Ultra from my friend and it worked with my mainboard FINE .
    - I tried all of the old bioses of MSI K7T266 PRO2-RU
    - I tried to start the computer with no any other devices (such as HDD , sound card , tv card etc. ) . Only display adapter was plugged in the mainboard , but it didn't work . System hanged up everytime I tried .
    - I made some bios adjustments which are suggested at this forum ....
But none of these worked ....  ?(
What is the problem ? Why only 32 MB creative TNT2 Ultra is working with my mainboard , but 16 MB Creative TNT2 M64 and 128 MB Creative 3DBlaster5 Radeon 9200SE are not  while all of them are working FINE with an old PII mainboard . (tvout+DVI)  I'm looking forward to hear from you . , Help me please .
Ps : Can new beta bios solve that problem ?
    XP pro
    2100+ 0.18m XP CPU with coolermaster CP5
    40 GB Seagate Barracuda IV
    300 watt Codegen Power Supply
2*256 MB Kingston DDR 2100 Memory
( No floppy , no souncard , no tv card etc , no any other devices like cdrom , dvdrom , cdrw etc.)

    That's it!
I provided a few PSU's from my friends and tried 420 watt thermaltake and 520 watt VANTEC Stealth 520A PSU  ...
Same situation happened and 128 MB Creative ATI Radeon video card didn't work   ...
The problem can not be about PSU ...
I tried two different brand of fx 5200  (128 MB ) video card on my system (with 300 watt codegen PSU) . Everything is ok  .
And I also tried the RADEON card on my friend's computer which is running with 230 watt Elan Vital PSU . It worked perfectly ...
So what can I think about that situation?
The Answer is : There is something about MSI mainboard ... When I wanted to contact with support center via e-mail , I got an automated e-mail answer which is not completely able to solve any of my problems.
Besides , I saw the problems between brand new Nforce mainboard of MSI and ATI video cards ...
SO , if we get all of these informations together , we can say "THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT MSI" ...
The solution is not buying expensive PSUs...
That's really bullshit , I can buy a brand new mainboard instead of an expensive PSU.
Finally , I bought an Asus mainboard , everthing is going ok now!
I'll not buy products of MSI anymore because they didn't do anything to solve my problem . Goodbye MSIIIIII ....................................... ........

i have this strange problem with me k7t motherboard.
sometimes, when starting up a CPU intensive application such as a game (or while running one) the computer will automatically go in somethiing similar to powersave mode.
anyway, when i try to turn off the computer and turn it back on, when turning it back on, it will only go into this strange powersave mode, the D-Leds show different things all the time. i have to reset the bios and leave power off for a few hours before the system will run normally again.
i have tried replacing everything with other parts, including ram, hardrive, video cord, powersupply basically everything. have flashed the bios to latest version and problem still persists. anyone know why this happens?
