K7T Turbo Limited Ed. and problems :(

Hallo
I have MSI K7T Turbo Limited Edition mobo (on KT133A). Yesterday something strange happened. I was surfing the net and suddenly my PC rebooted. After reboot I saw that in BIOS test, BIOS didin't detect my hard drives connected to first controller. CD-ROM and CD-RW were properly detected on the second controller.
I turn the PC off....waited about 30 seconds and turn it on. And everything was fine again. But in a short time it happened again. But now I heard something strange. I heard that both drives are stopping...slow down wnd stop. After a 1-2 sec. windows XP freezed and PC rebooted again :( And again there was no drives detected on first controller :(
I checked:
1. viruses - system is clean. I checked it with NAV2003 (within windows and dos - from bootable disc)
2. I tried to plug those 2 drives (15 GB Caviar and 15 GB Fujitsu) to the second controler (first was empty).
I asked some friends about it and one said that it could be power supply (maybe there is some instability or something).
Someone else told me that it could be a battery on the mobo (I have has this mobo for 2 years).
Or maybe it is a problem with motherboard? Maybe controller is damged....but...from the other hand when I restar the PC everythin works fine....some time :(
System: AMD XP1700+ (not overclocked), mobo as I said above, Radeon 8500, CD-ROM and CD-RW (pluged to second controller), Caviar 15 GB and Fujitsu (pluggeg do first controller), Windows XP with SP1.
I had no problems with that system befere.

Hi
I must check the type of that battery...but from the other hand if the battery was the problem it wouldn't keep all BIOS settings. Am I right? But it keeps.
Power supply is 300W - it is a kind off no-name (I bouhgt it with case 3 months ago and there was no problems befere :( )
I've already borrowed one - I'll check it later today (after work).

Most times is due to incompatibility between memory modules. Best way to avoid it is to buy 2 modules same brand, or one bigger module.

  • 6330 K7T Turbo Limited Ed. Problem

I bought a brand new 6330 K7T Turbo Limited Edition.
It shuts down by itself within 10 minutes (sometimes even within 5 sec.).
The temperature protection in the BIOS has been turned off and I've upgrade to
the latest BIOS (V3.5).  I tried unplugging everything except the powersupply,
memory, K/B, Mouse and video card.  But it does the samething.  Please Help.  Thanks.
    CPU: AMD Athelon 1.1 Ghz
    RAM: Kingston PC-133 128MB
Video Card: ATI Xpert 2000 (Rage 128 Pro)
400 W power supply. (Known good)

    It shut down completely.
I didn't even have any HDD connected.  (M/B, RAM, CPU, Video Card, Cooling FAN, K/B & Mouse only)  I'm sure the PSU is good because I'm using it now (so as the other accessories).  the PSU is 400 W, 30A@5V, [email protected]
I tried 3 different brands of video cards, 2 brands of memory modules.  They all did the same thing.

  • K7T turbo Limited

Need help on setting up and using IDE3&4 on my K7T turbo Limited edition. I have not used IDE 3&4 yet.  How do I set it up as a raid config. Does my boot drive still stay at IDE1, or does it move to IDE3 or 4 . Is the some type of bios setting for the raid?
I have tried to use the IDE 3&4 as ATA 100 controller, the drive showes up in the preboot screen and it is there but under win xp pro I do not see the drive at all. How should the drives be set as masters or slaves?
sorry for al the question s , but I'm on a mission to learn this raid stuff and make use of the board.
    Cheers Mike H

I'm Still having a problem using IDE 3&4. I tried what it said in the forum " How to use your Raid 3&4. But when I install my main drive on ide3 it will not boot. The Promise boots and looks at the drive and see it there, but it says that the cable is only a 40 pin cable ( it is not it's a ata 100 round cable) then goes on to try to boot and I end up in this circle of it trying to boot looks for drives then just keep restarting.
If I try to add another drive to the IDE 3 or 4 as additional drives it will not see the drives. Now I have the Promise device in the device manager and the drivers are loaded. But in the bios I can select that it look at Raid then scsi, but the is no other place in the bois to see raid. Under first boot device it willonly show the usual floppy, hd 0,1,2,3 or scsi. Any ideas what is going on here.

  • K7T Turbo Limited Edition HD Max

I currently am running this setup:
K7T Turbo Limited Edition Motherboard, AMD Athlon XP 1800+ 1.53 Ghz, 384MB PC-133, 27.2 GB WD, 40GB Maxtor, Gigabyte 5900XT, MSI 52x Combo, Linksys 10/100 NIC, Sound Blaster Live Audigy2 Limited Edition
I have been over and through the website and I noticed that with the new BIOS which (3.6) the Turbo2 (which I don't have) can run up to a 160GB Hard drive.  I was wondering what the max is for the normal turbo.  My WD 27.2 GB drive is going sour and I want to upgrade to a Seagate 200GB HD, since I plan to use it when I upgrade in January.  Any ideas whether it will work without out major headaches?

  • MSI K7T Turbo Limited Ed. + XP1700+

    Hi
I would like to know if my mainboard (MSI K7T Turbo Limited Edition on KT133A) supports XP1700+ 0,13 processor?
I've already read on this site that it doesn't :( but from the other hand I've heard that some people have those Xp1700+ on the same boards and everythings works fine (with bios ver. 3.6).
So...will it work or not? XP1700+ 0,18 works perfect.
    Regards

Hi, it may work but there is no official support for it.

  • PCI 2.1 SLot on K7T Turbo Limited Edition?

I'm about to get a Firewire Card but I'm not sure whether my MB :   K7T Turbo Limited Edition (MS-6330 v3.X) has a PCI 2.1 slot. I haven't found it in manual either. Can anybody help?
    Thanks
    minurec

    Welcome!
My Turbo2 manual doesn't specify either, but specs on MSI site for mine shows 32 bit PCI 2.2, usually backward compatible. Your MB is just one very short edition back, and I bet your slots are probably the same and 2.1 compatible. MSI shows yours as 32 bit, but w/o the #version. To my memory the 2.1 standard predates our MBs by a couple of years or more. I think you're safe to go.

  • K7T Turbo limited edition can't support Windows XP!!!!

i'm user of K7T Turbo Limited Edition mainboard, i treid to upgrade my OS to Windows XP currently and i found that the installation aborted abnormaly when it reach windows is restarting phase, and my PC will just hang without giving any response, i'm wondering my mianboard can't support Windows XP. Another prob i face is my hp deskject 630c printer couldn't supported by the mainboard also, i had tested on other PC and it works truly well. Anyone facing similar situation ?? can i solve my prob with update the latest BIOS

    Hi!
There is no reason why your mobo (or printer for that matter, XP-drivers, both for parallel and USB interface can be downloaded from the HP site) would NOT support Windows XP.
It could be, however,  that you need to update BIOS first. If you have a BIOS version prior to 3.0, you will have to update.

Welp fixed other problem by installing XP with cpu cache off and then turned back on when finished. Everything seemed to work fine all up to the point when I tried to start playing games. First game "quake 3" works fine aslong as im constantly moving intill I have to leave it on untouched for a min or so. Then it locks up or freezes and all I see is a black screen. In  starcraft it will let me play for a good 2 minutes and then the screen freezes. Last game  I tried was black and white that let me play for a good 4 mins then everytime i tried again the time it took to lock up got shorter and shorter. Ive installed new bios and via chipset drivers and still nothing.
Anybody got any other ideas I can try ????????????

well I didnt think I needed to since I was using a PCI card. I guess Ill go ahead and try. As for my power source im going to list everything it says cause i dont know a thing about them.

  • Getting K7T Turbo limited edition what is the fastest processor it will run

As the subject sugests my friend is about to give me his motherboard, ram and cpu the motherboard is a K7T Turbo-R (I'm assured this is the limited edition one) but he only has a slow old 1ghz processor on it. I've looked at the bios upgrades and I'm not sure what the fastest chip is that I can fit with the latest bios upgrade as it's written in funny english. It says: Support AMD XP 2400+ & 2600+ (K7T Turbo2 only) does this mean both chips are only supported on the turbo 2 or just the 2600+. My educated guess tells me that I would be able to fit a 2400+ as this is a 133/266 FSB processor but not the 2600+ as this is 333mhz. Please can someone help me I'm just starting to learn about computers and I don't really know what I'm talking about!

    Hello,
If you are sure it is the limited edition then
    http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_cpu_support_detail.php?UID=25&kind=1
    "It says: Support AMD XP 2400+ & 2600+ (K7T Turbo2 only)"
That lines means only the K7T Turbo2 supports the XP2400 and XP2600
    (non 166FSB versions  )
    http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_cpu_support_detail.php?UID=24&kind=1
See they are 2 different boards?

  • Fastest CPU for K7T Turbo Limited Edition

I would like to ask, which is the fastest processor (Athlon XP) which I can put into this motherboard?? The general information on this website say that up to Athlon XP 2000+, but then there is a link on CPU Support and there is only up to XP 1800+, so what is correct??
    Thanks

HI. This question has been asked many times. The official word from MSI is that the max. XP cpu is 1800 due to circuit board limitations. Some state that they are running 2000 XPs, but you risk the chance of burning up the board.Regards
