K7T Turbo2 (6330v5) problem (with locked Tbreds)

Hi,
I've recently bought a K7T Turbo2 board (6330v5) OEM version (green PCB) made probably for Fujitsu-Siemens UK. They probably didn't need those board anymore and sold them (a lot of wholesalers have them in my country now).
Anyway I think the board I bought is damaged, but I not sure.
The problem is that it won't POST with locked T-breds. I've tried a 2000+ (3rd week of 2004) and a 2400+ locked T-bred (46th week of 2003) and the PC haven't started.
But with a T-Bird 1400Mhz, a 1700+ and 1800+ Palomino (probably locked) and 2400+ unlocked T-bred the board started without any problems.
Is this the problem with new XP processors (produced after the 39th week 2003 and internally locked) and this board or I have a damaged board?

Well, I didn't know it was the OEM version when I was buying it... But in this case I don't think the bios is the problem. The board looks virtually the same as the normal board.
And it boots with a pre-39 (24th week of 2003) T-bred 2400+, so it's not a lack of compatibility with T-bred issue.
For me it seems that this board has problem with T-bred made after the 39th week of 2003 (internally locked ones).
So I need to know if all of those boards have the same problem, or only this one?
BTW. Currently I'm running my unlocked T-bred 2400+ on a Abit KT7A board, and I've tried the same locked T-bred 2400+ that failed on MSI K7T Turbo2 on my abit board and it also didn't boot. So maybe there's something wrong the KT133A chip which makes KT133A boards incompatible with new locked T-breds?
Of course the locked T-bred runs fine on a KT400 board or a nforce2 ultra400 boards...

My session 1 does a select for update in a query which has aggregate function. and updates a row.
2 nd session waits till the first session has updated.
But while selecting the data is selects the old data and not the one which Session1 has updated.
Please let me know How do I overcome this .

I'll give the explanation a shot but I can't find anything explict in the documentation along these lines. By default, the 'FOR UPDATE' clause says lock all these rows AND wait for anybody who might already have them locked to release the lock. However, if the other session changed the data we can't just lock the old version of the row, we have to get the data from the new version of the row. The catch is that we must guarantee statement level read consistency as well. Namely, all the data used by the statement must appear correct from a single point in time. If we waited for the other transaction and it commited, we must move that point up to be read consistent. That means reexecuting any subqueries as of the new consistency point. To summarize, the following happens ...
1. subquery gives num = 1
2. main query want to lock that row but can't so it waits
3. other session commits
4. main query notices the data it wants to lock has changed so it moves up consistency point
5. subquery is rerun for the new consistency point
6. subquery now gives num = 2
7. main query locks row

K7T Turbo2 Post problem

Hey all, first time here. I am trying to fix my son's computer for Christmas. His old mobo went dead and I picked up a K7T Turbo2 at the local shop. Details below:
K7T Turbo2 mobo - Award BIOS v6.00PG (W6330VMS v3.7)
AMD Athlon 1.4
2 x PC100 128MB ram
AGP GeForce4 MX (tried Rage 128
WD 40GB hdd
Standard 52x CD
Macron PSU 300W
When booting the first few times, it acts like it wants to boot, gets through post and tries to access the hdd - but never gets to any MS booting screen (XP loaded on hdd) - screen just goes black. I turn it off and back on and it gets to the point where it does the HDD check and freezes. The diagnostic LED stops on #1 red and the rest green (manual says boot attempt, but it hasn't even done a hdd check yet). I take it down and back up again several times. Sometimes the LEDs stop on #2 red and the rest green (manual says floopy init).
I took the board back to the shop and got another with the same results. I have tried different AMD 1.4 (from a known working PC), different PC100 128MB sticks and PC133 256MB sticks. I've tried booting with only minimal parts attached (no hdd or cd) with the same results. The only thing I can think of is the PSU is not strong enough. I've tried plugging in the little 12V piece and not using it with the same results. HELP!!!! Tomorrow is Christmas and my son is going to be very disappointed. TIA!

Just wanted to say thanks for all the help. I foud the problem though. It was a faulty CPU. I know that I had swapped it out with my working AMD 1.4, but for some reason, this one would die once any load was put on it. I took my wife's 1.4 out and the mobo booted.
I just went out to ZipZoomFly (from Pricewatch) and bought two new AMD Athlon XP 1800+'s for $48 each. Hopefully they'll come in quickly and I can get my son's PC back to him before the end of his Christmas break. Thanks again all!

With Windows XP Home or Windows XP Pro, I cannot install any PCI devices. I have tried a modem, NIC and a Soundblaster live. It sees the device, and knows what it is, but fails to install. I have tried different PCI slots. I have tried just about every BIOS setting (and yes I disabled the integrated modem, either though there is no integrated modem) but can't figure it out.
With Windows 98SE, no problem installing PCI devices. I did use a different hard drive to test WIN98, but I don't think that would matter.
Does anyone have any ideas? I can't seem to get through to tech support (no surprise there).

Thank you for the advice, but that's not it. I did what you said.. pointed to either the CD or floppy. Even with the soundblaster, XP new it was a soundblaster and tried to install it's driver, but no luck.
I'm going to try different versions of the VIA chipset drivers today and see what happens.

K7T Turbo2 wont post with a Duron

plz help me!
My system is as follow
2 x 256 legend brand pc133 SDRAM
GF4 MX440 Video Card
K7T Turbo2 Mainboard
Seagate Barracuda
Sony 52x24x52 CDRW
250Watt Power Supply
The system used to run a 1.2 Duron perfectly. I then upgraded to a XP2400+ and flashed the BIOS to the latest version. Now when i try to run it with the 1.2 Duron againt it will not POST. I replaced the duron with a brand new 1.3GHz and still no POST. I put my 2400XP+ back in and the system worked perfectly. I have tried clearing CMOS and limiting the FSB to 100MHz and still no POST with the Durons. I am all out of ideas, i have replaced every component i can think of (Video card, PSU, RAM) and no luck.
Someone please help me!

First, you're lucky to get the XP and GF4 to run with such a low rated PSU (and this may lead to problems w/that config).
You did replace the J17 jumper for 100 FSB?
LED readings (see Manual)upon re-installing Duron (all red)?
Did you try clearing CMOS before re-installing Duron?

K7T Turbo2 RAM problems

I'm having some problems getting an extra RAM stick to work on my MSI K7T Turbo 2 (ms6330) motherboard.
When I only have one RAM stick (512MB, Apacer, UNB PC133 CL2) installed everything works fine. But when I insert another RAM stick, EXACTLY the same, the whole system becomes very unstable..
I've noticed that when I use
RAM slot 1 and 2
or
RAM slot 2 and 3
I get "blue screen" error message 10 seconds after starting to boot into the OS.
When I use
RAM slot 1 and 3
and put CAS Latency in the bios to 3, I can boot into the OS, but the whole system seems slower and it's also unstable.. freezes within minutes..
What could be causing this to happen? I saw on newsgroups another guy with similar problem - he had also installed another ram stick and had lockup problems with his system:

I have similar problem when i used 3 or 2 512 stick combination last time. All 3 stick work perfectly with the fourth stick when i was using my old Abit Ka7 mobo. It's seem to have problem with this mobo. I also dunno why. now i only resort to use 256 only.

K7T Turbo2 v.5 and 1800+ tbred (0.13u)?

I come to you again with another question. I know that there has been some discussion on this especially with K7t v.3. So, if this is repetative please forgive me. My question is, do I have to upgrade my Bios to properly handle the Tbred (0.13u)? My Bios version is 3.5. I know that this Bios goes up to XP2200, but there is no specific mention of the Tbred core. I am very skiddish about doing an upgrade. I have read to many horror stories. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the tidbit. I am a novice at playing around with voltages and such. I basically leave my systems at defaults. I know that I am probably missing out on a lot of fun, but my systems are for work and play so I can't afford down time.

Problem with "locked records" on Oracle with UTF8

Hello,
Can somebody help me with "record is locked by another user" problem on Oracle 10.1.0.2 ?
Oracle is installed with UTF8 character set, and is running on Windows Server 2003. Whenever I try to edit numeric column I get the message "record is locked by another user". Selecting locks from v_$locked_object view, gets empty resultset - nothing is locked.
The problem occurs only when I edit numeric columns using client applications like TOAD or my own applications. When I do the same column update by sql query, everything works fine.
Is the problem connected with client configuration or maybe with UTF8 character set, or Windows Server2003?
We also have second Oracle 10.1 server on Linux, but with WIN1250 character set, and there's no problems like that.

About the only thing you can do is automatically commit or rollback when the user presses the Enter Query key/button. In your key-entqry trigger, you would need to code this:
Clear_form(no_validate,full_rollback);
Enter_Query;

XP 2000 T-Bred K7T Turbo2 overclocking problem(multiplier)

I've updated the mobo with the Latest BIOS 3.6 and still the multiplier doesn't do what it should do...
I have the new athlon XP 2000+ with Thoroughbred core
512mb PC133 Kingston
when i changed the multiplier to 14 with 133FSB(default)
it gave me 770mhz ... what the? it should be 14x133 = 1862Mhz.
Maximum overclocking i could reach was 150FSB x default multiplier which gave me 1875Mhz. but then it will display artifacts while doing heavy processing tasks and i suspect that those visual artifacts were coming from the overclocked FSB to 150 which will at the same time overclock my memory to PC150( my memory can't handle that!)
My overclocking can only be done correctyl by changing the mobo's FSB which in fact is limited by the VIA chipset controller and my memory overclocking capability.
Any help or fixes will be appreciated.

yes, but wicked unstable because of the overclocked agp, the screen would have white rectangles where the ads should be and that kinda thing. by moving down a little at a time, I was able to leave it @150 and have it run fairly well. by changing to my little guy, 1500Xp I was able to squeak a couple of more fsb ,but I still moved it back to 150 ,as that was the sweet spot Funny thing about it was, that I was running 3 different brands of ram, and still could get it up there ,but it was more stable with just 1 stick, and the Kingston was CL2 so I chose that. They weren't expensive ram either, Apacer and Centon from Circuit City. Closer examination of the ram showed up the fact that they were all Infenion chips. I was also using a modified version of 98se that allows up to 1 gb of ram. I have since loaded one with XP and still does excellent @150FSB and 2 sticks 256 Kingston CL2. I was gonna try PC150 but this little test showed that was a waste of money. This was with a FUTUREPOWER400watt P/S I think trying anything bigger would still give you problems as you have no way to lock pci/agp from the OC like a kt3 or KT4 has and hardware don't like OC as 1 dead harddrive will tell you. HT201412 iPad 2, ios 7.0.2; Apple logo when cover opened requiring a reset to start iPad even after system restored through iTunes. Same problem with Lock / Unlock off.

This problem only started after installing ios 7.0.2 on 3 Aug 2013. The iPad must now be switched off before closing the magnetic cover or the system freezes displaying the Apple logo. I think the lock up occures as the cover is closed as the iPad was quite warm when I returned to use it about 2 hours later. The battery was fully charged just prior to the upgrade, but, after a system reset to get the iPad running again, I found the previously full battery down to abt. 20%. I have tried turning the (auto) "Lock / Unlock" off but closing and re opening the cover still reveals a black screen with the Apple logo, and the need to reset. I restored the iPad through iTunes but the problem still remains........any ideas any one.........APPLE ???

Both of the above was conducted on a clean install with no backups restored.
The problem ocurred immediately after the iOS 7.0.2 upgrade. I have used the iPad every day since I got it shortly after version 2 came out and it had performed flawlessly right up to this upgrade. The upgrade was done wirelessly and the battery was fully charged. The iPad was disconnected from the charger before the start of the upgrade and no problems were encountered during the upgrade. I closed the cover on completion and that appears to be when the problem started. All subsiquent restores have been through iTunes 11.1.1.11 with no reported problems.

E52 - problem with lock code and bluetooth connect...

I have an E52 as my work phone, and due to company security policy, a lock code and autolock (30 minutes max) is mandatory. This is giving me problems when using bluetooth headsets, regardless of the make (Plantronics, my Garmin GPS, and latest the built in Fiscon in my car). As long as the phone is not locked, everything works fine, I can make and receive calls. But, when the phone locks, I am no longer able to make calls. In the car (both on the GPS, and on the built in connection) I can still browse the phone book and select a number, but when I attempt to dial, nothing happens.
If I enter my lock code, I can make calls without problems. However, it sort of defies the purpose of having a rather expensive hands free kit in my car, if I can only make calls the first 30 minutes of my ride.
Is this a known problem, and is there a solution?

This is not a problem as such, more of a design flaw. It is not possible to make a call when the phone is locked, I guess the only way around the issue is just to press a button on the phone every now and then. Say every 15 to 20 mins just push the menu button or any button randomly, that should reset the timer back to 30 minutes until it is locked next.

Problems with lock-off shot

The source footage is HDV, which is being edited into a DVCPRO HD 720p60 sequence, so all of the clips have to be rendered to view. The overlaid shot dissolves in smoothly, but at the point where the underlying clip stops on the track beneath the overlay, there is a slight color-shift that occurs. The last frame of the timeline that contains both clips, one over the other, looks good, but the next frame, which is the overlaid clip fully-dissolved on is where the problem occurs.
Any ideas? My thought is that it must have to do with the render file that's created for the dissolve, but I'm just not sure. Does this explain the problem well enough for anyone to help?

there is no reason taht should happen....
to trouble shoot the problem and make sure its not a codec issue why not export each clip from the timeline individually at current setting (this will make two dvcpro clips.
reimport them (they shouldnt need rendering now) and see if the problem persists. I would suspect taht it wouldnt.
also - worth checking that there is no composite mode set on the clips ( it is just a plain dissolve? and no additive or multiplication that would need a clip underneath it at all times to prevent color changes)

Problem with lock key.

I have go to the apple service center & give him my phone but i was shocked again when they also told me that sorry sir some liquid spot found in your phone we are not able to help you.
I am not able to understand what happen to the apple services after sir stive jobs. I have no physical damage in my phone then why don't apple change the lock key mechanism if they already know that fault is totally from the apple end.
I am just expecting that apple will take my issue seriously i am facing the problem since last one year but no one giving me positive response. I am still thinking that is their i have done any mistake for choosing the apple product. Is it the apple of sir stive jobs the people are talking about this.

Problem with locks while using iBATIS with MS Access through JDBC-ODBC brid

I am attempting to use iBATIS to access MS Access file via JDBC-ODBC bridge.
(I am using Spring's "SqlMapClientDaoSupport," but that is probably irrelevant)
All this runs on Tomcat... First time DB gets accessed the LDB lock file is created. From there on the only way I can remove the lock file is to kill the JVM...
Any help is greatly appreciated...

K7T Turbo2 Sound problems

When playing music like MP3's, CD's or windows-sounds it always plays the music/sound with lots off cracking, background noise
I've reïnstalled all the related drivers, updated most of them, with no result. I've tested with other loudspeakers and also with no result.
Could it be, that the build-in sound-hardware on the motherboard is broken?
Or is it the little jack-connector on the board that give's the noise?
How can I find-test the origin for this sound-issue ????

I know you already reinstalled and updated drivers but it might still be a driver problem - you might again fiddle a bit with the drivers ...
Also (have been looking for that, but I cannot find the actual thread), I think I remember someone with comparable problems which were solved after updating the (video!) drivers, so you could end up doing some more updating of drivers (always make sure that you follow the instructions, sometimes the old drivers need to be uninstalled first)...
