K7T266 majour problems!

Just bought a K7T266 pro and have also bought 512MB PC2100 (200mhz) RAM. It seems to work fine until all of a sudden it will crash, the screen goes black and the monitor turns off. Afetr that to retsart i have to wait 5 minutes before I can turn the computer back on again. I'm running a GeForce 4 MX420 and an AMD Athalon 1.4GHZ. It's not as if I want a super fast computer but one taht runs ok would be nice. I'm looking at getting PC2100 266mhz would that make it any better. Help would be great as it's getting to the poitn of REALLY stressing me out now!!!
Thanks

i had the same exact problem
the system goes into this "standby" mode
by standby mode i mean with the monitor switches off but the hdd still running
another scenario for me is when my system just has this beeping noise and the signal D-LED's inside hangs in this one combination of lights (i cant remember which)
the worst scenario case is when its no even able to detect the keyboard
it happens usually when entire casing is tilted or shocked pysically
i have read thru some of the forums which claim that the board touches something with something
but can anyone what that something is
lets keep the mystery unravelled
my system:
amd athlon 1Ghz (runs at 750 mhz only)
ati radeon 9000
256MB ddrram

40GB maxtor hard disk

  • Is it more trouble than its worth?...

    Hi.
Not used apple stuff in a long time after a few bad experiences with apple stuff in the past.
Im getting twitchy again as I would like a decent music player and have been recently looking at the 80gig video.
I am sort of up to speed with the problems some ipod users are having with the pods at the moment.
My question is, is it worth getting one or is it worth looking else where ie Creative or wait until Microsoft release their Zune?
One of the BIG factors that puts me off getting a pod is that their is still no user replacable battery and hate the idea of having to send the pod back to apple to get a recon back, have known so many friends send in their mint ipods to get trashed ones back.
My last pod I had was a 40 gig color and it had majour problems with sound quality which was fixed when I got rid of it. Do the 80 videos sound good?
Really dont know what to do, I know that their will be lots of people who have them and have had no problems hence dont post, and I know thier are a few that do post that have great pods, but I would say their are more with problems than those without.
Im just getting peoples feedback before I part with £260 and re-enter apples monoply.
    Cheers!

with 14 million + ipods sold in the last quarter of 2005, I highly doubt there is more with problems then without. Typically the only people who come to help forums are those with problems, So i think you will always find more people posting with problems then without problems.
I have a iPod video and I think the sound quality is great, I didn't buy it for the video, and really didn't expect that much from the video, but I was very surprised by the sound and picture quality.
I hope whatever you decide to do that you find ya a good music player.

  • Crystal Report 11 Not Interpreting HTML Field

    Post Author: Shakeel Ahmad
    CA Forum: General
Hello Everybody!I am using the Crystal Report 11 and some of the fields displaying on the report has HTML data (<table> and other tags), but this field is not maintaining its formating even though I changed the Text Interpretation property of the Report field to HTML.For Example, I have the following data in a field<table cellspacing="1" cellpadding="1" width="200" border="1">    <tbody>        <tr>            <td>First</td>            <td>Second</td>        </tr>        <tr>            <td>Third</td>            <td>Fourth</td>        </tr>      </tbody></table>  But its output on the CR11 is
    FirstSecond
    ThirdFourth
The majour problem is for the <td> tag. Thanks for any solution to this problem.

Actually it dont interpret the <td> tag, that why It combibes the output of a single line while it interprets the <tr> tag like <br> that why it breaks up the line. The spaces cant solve the problem cuz we cant count how much spaces should be printed after text of a <td> for proper formatting.likesdklfjsadkfksd    askdjfksdjfsdfjdks              askdjfkdsjfkd

  • After Belle Update most of applications missing???

    Hi,m new to community...
i have a majour problem with my new update.
    i have a Nokia N8 i just update it to belle .
after the update there are several applications are missed,i've installed them via store and most of applications are paid onces.. like, theft aware, fruit ninja, call recorder, angry birds. ect.....
now i cant find them only 3 of applications are showing...
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You must re-download them (if they still are in the store, many of mine are gone). And possibly you must buy them again (limited number of downloads). I had to hard-reset my phone once, and had to re-download then. Now I get "max number of downloads reached" on some apps and have to pay again :-(

  • K7T266 Pro R and Geforce 2 GTS problem

Hello everyone. I have been experiencing a problem for some time now regarding lockups and crashes caused by my video card, which vary in severity depending on the driver version used. Since I'm using an MSI K7T266 Pro Raid mobo (version 1) I thought I'd post my question here.
The exact problem depends on the driver version. Using any Nvidia Detonator drivers at version 40 or newer, my system becomes extremely unstable. On first booting everything seems fine, however if I try to open my Geforce display properties the Windows freezes during the redraw of the display properties window, which goes blank. Sometimes I can call up Close Programs Dialog, which shows DDHELP in the list, and [not responding]. I've never actually gotten an error message from DDHELP or any other error message -- perhaps the computer jams too hard for Windows to get one up. I've seen reports around the Net about DDHELP problems from things like DirectX 8.1, but they're never quite like my problem. The problem is identical on DirectX 8.0, 8.1, and on 9.0.
No matter what I try to do in Windows with these drivers installed, the computer will lock up in seconds. For example, if I then open IE 5.5, I might be able to get as far as a page or two before the similar thing happens: during the window redraw the computer locks up (usually with a blank or partially-redrawn window), sometimes causing the mouse to lock and sometimes not, and then if I can get the Close Program Dialog open DDHELP has appeared and is Not Responding.
The most stable driver version I've found so far is 29.42, which does not cause the lockup above and never causes DDHELP to appear. However, it is quite unstable as well, and causes Windows to lock up sporadically during 2D window redraws in various programs. For example, when calling up a Save Document dialog or when opening a pulldown menu the program will lock either before any of the redraw becomes visible on screen or when the new dialog box is "skeletal", only partially drawn. Sometimes the crash is severe enough that I have to do a cold restart on my system.
The other problem is that sporadically garbage blocks will appear in portions of my screen, like old windows and color bands popping up that do not refresh. This often happens to me in Photoshop 6, and happens usually when I'm scrolling down a window or something.
These problems with version 29.42 all appear to be 2d window-drawing related. I do not have any problems with 3d games with 29.42. However, the new reference drivers are so unstable on my system that I can't even try to open them.
With 29.42, the most stable drivers I've found so far, some kind of lockup due to redrawing windows almost always occurs within an hour (sometimes minutes) of booting up.
For what it's worth, dxdiag tests just fine.
I was hoping someone could help me figure out what's causing the trouble, what driver I should use, and how to resolve it. If possible, I'd really like to use the newer drivers as I've been told they're much faster. In any event, I hate having such an unstable system where lockups could occur at any moment!
Here's the lowdown of my system:
    -MSI K7T266 Pro Raid [1] mobo (MS-6380)
         AMIBIOS date: 5/1/2001
         VIA 4in1 drivers version 4.45

current drivers: Nvidia reference 29.42 (also 40+)
on IRQ11 (shares with my Ethernet card)
         BIOS version 2.15.01.14
    -Windows 98SE
-DirectX 9.0 (also tried 8.1 etc)
-Soundblaster Live! 5.1 on slot 3, drivers from 5/2002
    -Viewsonic PF790 monitor
    -C drive is 30gb Western Digital 7200rpm, FAT32
-D drive is Raid 0 striped array, pair of 40gb 7200rpm
-Network Everywhere Fast Ethernet Adapter on slot 5
-no memory resident programs on loadup except for WinPoET, Explorer, Systray
If there's anything I've left out that could help, let me know!
    Thanks to anyone in advance,

  • K7T266 PRO2 (MS6380 Ver 3.0) FDD Controler Problems

I just purchased a new boxed OEM MSI K7T266 PRO2 (MS6380 - Ver 3.0) motherboard from JUST DEALS on E-bay which seems to have very sparce (or none) documentation for download on this site.  This is a non-raid board which has the AGP Pro video card socket (with the white lock and release lever at the end of the AGP female connector).  The board can also be identified with the following rather unique component/connector layout at the bottom end of the board:
    1.  In place of where RAID connectors attach to most of these model boards, this board has three aux USB connectors above the connector where the case front panel connectors usually plug in.
    2.  There are 3 CDROM audio connectors at the lower left below the last PCI slot.
    3.  To the left of the case front panel connector, there are two rows of connectors and jumpers which appear to be for  use with a case which has front panel audio connectors.  I believe the jumpers are for the purpose of selecting which audio output to use  (front or the standard rear sound output jacks.
    4.  The area between the last PCI slot and the USB and front panel audio connectors described above, the motherboard is rather blank with no components or even places where optional components have not been installed.
    5.  This motherboard has a Phoenix bios whereas most other K7T motherboards made by MSI seem to be AMI bios.
    6.  Finally, when doing a search for MS6380 Ver3.0 on Google, all the hits seem to be in Russian, German or French.   I suspect that this MB may have been manufactured for the European market.   BIOS display is in English, however.
    PROBLEM
I have installed an AMD Athlon TBird 1.2 ghz cpu with 40mb WD hard drive which already had Windows Me and lots of other SW installed.  The system boots just fine from the hard drive and all works well except for the Floppy drive.   When I try to access the FDD with a know good disk installed with valid data, it comes on and spins up, the front light blinks and after about 30 seconds of continuous running, a message comes up "floppy disk not formated, format now: (Y/N)"  If I try to format the disk, it will not format and the system will ask to check to see if a disk is installed.   Changing floppy disks does not help, whether this is a disk which has verified data installed or just a formated blank disk.  I have tried two different FDD cables and 3 different Floppy drives and always get the same result.   I have checked for bent or broken pins in the connectors and found they are all good.  The FDD is a 1.44 MB and is connected to the end of the two-drive cable.  No other FDD is installed.  When I go into the BIOS setup, I verify that Drive A is installed as a 1.44BM 3.5" Floppy and None is selected for Drive B.
I am currently at a loss to know how to proceed here.  I am wondering if this could be a BIOS problem but I am not sure if I can find BIOS update on the MSI Web site when they do not even list a MS6380 Ver 3.0 motherboard at all.
I am considering installing a PCI FDD controller card but not sure that these are even manufactured.
    Please help.

    To Toenne:
Thanks for the reply.  This has to be a BIOS problem since the FDD has to be accessed by the BIOS before any software or installed chipset drivers on the HD are ever used.  With my problem, I cannot even boot the system from the FDD.
I tried resetting CMOS and that did not help.  I wonder if there is some kind of multi-mode floppy disk drive which this BIOS expects to see other that you standard old fashion IBM 3.5" 1.44gb drive.  The solution is likely to reflash the BIOS except with this odd MB serial number, I am not sure if I can find the latest BIOS software for this Phoenix chip.
Does anyone know if there are any PCI FDD controller cards on the market where I could disable the on-board controller and use a plug-in card?
    Thanks

  • MSI K7T266 Pro2-RU - problem with the lite-raid - would like to use it as a normal ide

    Hi!
I tried to install a single drive on the raid-controller and create a single array for it.
For some reason the disk management in Windows XP does not see it, even though
I have updated the related drivers. However, the Disk management showed it the first time after I had installed the HD onto the raid, but as I could not do anything intelligent with Disk management in regard of the HD, I removed the drive from Disk management with that effect that the disk management does not recognize the drive at all, even though I have now re-created the array on the risk, disabled and enabled raid on the Bios.
I read that there exists modified bios for MSI KT3 Ultra ARU BIOS, which will turn the Raid into regular IDE. That would be something that would most probably be the best way to proceed for me. However, do such bioses exist for MSI K7T266 Pro2-RU? Any other suggestions on how to get the disk management to succeed in recornizing the IDE on the raid-controller would be good to hear as well.
    Yours sincerely,
    Tero

Ok, I tried updating with the hacked 3.7 Full Raid Bios. Now I seem to have another problem: even though the hacked bios recognizes my HD, it thinks it's about 130 GB, when it in reality would be 250 GB. The hacked bios seems to work ok with Disk Management in Windows XP too, so it's a shame that the hacked bios doesn't seem to have a support for large disks. On the other hand the link at Lumberjacker was dead for the hacked bios v3.6, I would have tried it, if it would have provided me with a good solution to my problem.
I then went back and installed the official v3.7 bios and the lite raid does now recognize the HD being 250 GB, but the Disk Management just states "Missing" in regard of the HD and does not let me do anything fruitful with it. I looked the HD's properties and the Device Manager just states "Hardware device not connected code 45".
How in earth could I manage to make this work now (I do not want to move my other HD:s as they are full of stuff and don't want to risk losing any content)?
General specs of the computer: IDE 1: 60 GB and 120 GB Matrox, IDE 2: Nec2500 and Sony DVD-Rom, Athlon 1800+ XP, 512 MB memory, Ati 9700 np, Network adapter card. The new HD to be added is a 250 GB WD (have removed the jumper)
    Thank you for any tips,
    Tero

  • Possible Motherboard Problem (MSI K7T266)

Last year I won a MSI K7T266 motherboard and AMD Athlon 1800 from the AMD extreme performance giveaway.  I build a system and everything was fine until two months ago.  I started to get the blue screen of death while running Windows 2000 Pro.  I figured out that one of my three sticks of 2100 DDR RAM has gone bad by removing them one by one until the computer was semi-stable.  Without the bad stick of RAM the computer boots and allows Windows to load.  The problems started again when a program would cause an “illegal operation” the computer would restart.  The computer is now to the point where it will not load Windows correctly 90% of the time.  The computer boots past BIOS and then starts loading Windows.  At the welcome screen there is a short pause, and then the power to the motherboard flicks off and it starts over.  This will go around and around until Windows finally loads completely or I get sick of it and turn the power off.  My problem is that I’m not sure what component is causing the problem.  Does this sound like a motherboard, RAM or processor problem?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Problem with K7T266 pro, usb not working corectly!

    Have a problem here.
My MOMO racing wheel (USB) stops responding while playing games, but the wheel works fine on my friends comp. When i start a geme, i can play it for 30-60mins, and then it just stops responding, the lights on the wheel dont glow and it seems disconnected, my only help then is to restart my comp.
    And my specs are:
    MSI K7T266 pro
    AMD athlon 1,4Ghz
    Win98SE
I use the usb ports, that are in my mainboard.
Please answer if you know about the problem, or if you have expirianced something like that.

After killing my K7N2G-ILSR, ive had to revert to my backup K7T266 ProR system. While playing UT2K3 I had those freaking random disconnects of the USB which would kill the FPS and get me fragged, after which time it would happily reconnect and work fine. My optical mouse would also disconnect like that.
I am running XP Home, VIA 4.43. I set the BIOS to read only USB1 (which didnt work). Then I installed the VIA USB filter RC-1 and havent had a disconnect problem for over 24 hours now. Get the usb filter from MSI website and good luck!

i hope u can all help me. i feel that the win xp cd might be busted, but then again i am also concerned about problem #1 above. i feel that if i can install windows again i will have the same "spontanous restart" incident that first started and caused (i think) probelm #2
    pls help.
    thanks
    Anton ;(

    Hi!
Really, I don't think this could be a hardware problem since WinXp takes more than few minutes to install, and you did it, then you installed drivers and SP1. Why did you format HD in the other PC ? I would try a new install, taking out all not necesary stuff, leaving only CPU, memory and video card and formatting again the HD. for a clean install; then go adding the other hardware one by one, installing it's drivers and rebooting each time. Finally before connecting to internet enable Firewall to prevent Blaster Worm ( Don't know if still is going around ). One thing: Be sure HD is well connected and configured: Master if is a slave conected to same wire..etc.- If again you get an error, I would look for a faulty HD.  8)

  • K7T266 Pro2 RU: Boot problem, wrong CMOS setting

    Hi All,
I have had the Pro2 RU MB for a year now with very few problems. Over Christmas I was cleaning up my computer and was going to do a format :C and reload windows. When I went to start the computer after cleaning it up (remove all cards, clean up dust) I got 4 red leds on d-led. Tried everything (different memory, reset bios, unplug everything except video, ect) always 4 reds. Bought a duron 1.3 GHz put it in started the computer it start to post, went through fastrack raid screen and then I got "CMOS settings wrong" "press F1 to setup", "F2 load defaults" ...... screen I go F1 into setup make ajustments and everytime I save and I get 4 red leds on reboot. If I go F2 load defaults and continue it will try and boot, my hard drives are in a raid 0 array and it will check floppy, ide 0, cdrom by default so it can't boot. If I reboot at this point it will go 4 red leds. I can't flash the bios which is ver 3.2 because the bios protection is enabled and I can't change any settings. I could use some help this one has my stumped.
I have tried 3 different power supplies, and that is not the problem.

I have reset the cmos with pc unplugged...yes.
I have read the FAQ at this site, I have used the search feature at this forum I have googled my problem searched a few other sites and I am stuck. I have been building computers and troubleshooting problems for 3 years now. If it was a new board I would RMA it at my wholesaler.
It seems like there is a problem with the cmos chip because it will not accept any changes to the settings. As soon as you save the changes in the cmos the computer reboots and I get 4 red leds in d-led.

Did you uninstall the previous drivers?
Do you have any PCI cards near the AGP?
What are your system temperature, according to BIOS?
I think i'll follok the Toenne suggest. The difference between the AGP 2x and 4x is very small, anyway my drivers are (un)installed correctly and i don't have any PCI card near the AGP slot. Instead i think that in the future i'll pay more attention at the temperature problem: my Athlon XP 2000+ is  hot also with a good copper cooler...
Another questios is, can anyone help me to find the best BIOS settings for my system?
In the next days i'll post my BIOS configuration so we can see where i've mistaken.
    Thanx again...
