K7T266pro2-RU raid and XP service pack 2

After installing windows xp sp2 on this board, pci devices disappear from device manager and connections folder.
Specifically an intel 536 pci modem and a SMC(realtek 8139) pci ethernet card.
Dial up connections report the modem as unavailable device missing, and won't work.
The lan works but you can't get to the card thru connections folder, so you can't easily adjust properties.
However system information sees and prints reports on both devices.
NEC usb to pci open host controllers also vanish, but all the 8 of the usb slots still work.
I deleted the partition and re-installed xp, and the devices were all installed ok and appeared in device manager and connections. After sp2 was installed they were gone.
Previously this board and pci devices had worked ok with sp1.
I tried installing the pci modem after sp2 was installed and with difficulty this was done thru add hardware. However still not present in device manager or connections.
Latest bios 3.7 is on the board.
I have a msi-6712 board with sp2 installed and this is ok. I took the modem from the KT7 266 and installed it in this ok. Works fine.

Thank you! Yes, I've seen lots about SP2 not handling hardware.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS4 Full Version and VISTA Service Pack 2

I have brought CS4 Full and recall seeing VISTA Service Pack 1 as requirement.  I keep getting prompted by my computer to download and install Service Pack 2.  What to do:
    1.  Install Photoshop on current setup (SP 1) and then upgrade to SP 2
    2.  Install SP 2 and then load Photoshop
    Thanks for any insight.

SP2 is very stable, uses less ram, and also less hard drive space. If you have not installed CS4 yet just do the SP2 update then CS4. Don't forget to update CS4 to 11.0.1.
Also either way you want to install works. I installed SP2 with PS CS4 on the system and there were no problems running CS4 afterwards.

  • Crystal Report 9 merge Module and its service pack 7.

Hello, My application is using Crystal report 9 and have its merge modules which are integrated in Installer. It has packages: rdcdesigntime.msm, rdcruntime.msm, reportengine.msm and Database_Access.msm which are already integrated in my application Installer. There are few issues which are fixed in its service pack 7 for CR 9(File: cr90win_en_sp7.exe).
    Now my Q is:
    1. Are there latest merge modules for CR 9 which has changes for SP 7 also incorporated? So that I can change modules in installer itself to have changes for SP7 also.
    2. I couldn't get merge modules for CR 9 even from the site. From where I can get this?

    Hi Neha,
Click [here|http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/additional_downloads/runtime.asp#01] to download the availabe merge modules of CR 9.
    Or
Click [here|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm] to get all the CR9 documents, mergemodules, fix packs etc. just you need to provide the "CR" as S/W product and "9" as a roduct version.
Also the Wiki [here|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/CrystalReportsforVisualStudio.NETRuntimeDistribution-Versions9.1to12.0] is currently the best resource for CR.NET Runtime information.

  • Clean access rules and Windows service pack 3

I am having a small issue with our Clean Access Manager blocking any Windows XP computer that has service pack 3 installed. The main failure it is giving in the reports is this
    Failed Checks:
    pc_Windows-XP-SP2, Registry Check [\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\CSDVersion contains Service Pack 2]
    pc_Windows-XP-SP1, Registry Check [\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\CSDVersion contains Service Pack 1]
The key that is there when sp3 is installed is this:
    \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\CSDVersion contains Service Pack 3
I have verified that pc_Windows-XP-SP1 and pc_Windows-XP-SP2 are there as well as created a check for service pack 3 eric_pc_Windows-XP-SP3 and added the check to the rules governing windows updates for XP pro/home and windows media edition. But for some reason they are not taking effect. The CAM is running version 4.1.3.1 and the the CAA is version 4.1.3.2. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Eric

  • OAS and NT service Packs

I have been trying to get 8i, OAS 4.0.8, and developer server 6.0 running on the same NT box. Have found a document on Metalink that says OAS 4.0.8 is only supported with NT service pack 5. Does anyone know if it works under service pack 6? I find it hard to believe that it doesn't, especially since OAS seems to be functionng fine, it is developer server java errors that I am having problems with (hopefully will be fixed with developer patch 6a).

We are running OAS 4.0.8 with NT Service Pack 6. Service Pack 6 did overwrite some dll files which required a reinstall of OAS, but since then they work fine together. Sorry, I can't help you with your other issues.

  • Upgrade sql server 2008 to 2008R2 and apply Service pack 3

    Hello,
I have a two node cluster (sql server 2008).  I would like to upgrade to SQL Server R2 and at the same time would like to patch to Service Pack 3.  What would be the best way to accomplish this task with minimal downtime to the users?
    This is my plan:
    1.  Detach any read only databases.
    2.  Upgrade to 2008 R2 (shared feature only) on passive node (node1).
    3.  Apply SP3 on passive node in step 2.
    4.  Swith active node to passive node (node2).
    5. Upgrade to 2008 R2 (shared feature only) on node2.
    6. Apply SP3 on node2.
    7.  Upgrade db (instance) on node2 to 2008 R2.
    8.  Upgrade db (instance) on node1 to 2008 R2.
    9.  Re-attach read only databases.
    Is my procedures correct?
    Thank you.

  • Iplanet 4.16 and windows service pack 4

Is anyone aware of any issues I might encounter by installing service pack 4 to the server?
    Thanks!

Logically I don't think it will cause any issue, anyway PC Server is cheap you can always test it up on a test server.
Older iPlanet (Netscape) Directory Server 4.X has been a very stable product so far from what I have experienced.

  • Audigy 2 and Windows Service Pack 2 Prob

Hi , well my problem is with the game Nascar 2003 season.
To start off with I have updated every possible driver I can think of.
The problem is when I hit the escape key to get out of the car it makes a screeching noise and the screen goes blue with white broken-up vertical lines ( like the mattrix). Then it goes blank and reboots.
I have tried all sorts of things, like I can put any other soundcard in and the problem goes away. I started removing programs. no help..then I removed SP2 and the problem went away.
So I decide to do a clean install of windows and went out and bought Ghost for a easy system restore
And again no problem untill SP2 is installed.
Also this is the only problem I am having and its only with this one game.
    Thanks for any input.

Your problem has nothing to do with SP2. Just take a look in the forums and you will find TONS of similair problems with Audigy cards.
Before you ask Creative for anwers, I will give you a few, they will give you:
Did you install the latest drivers?
Did you try moving the Soundcard to a different PCI slot?
The problem is probably your graphics card, have you tried replacing it's
Is your PC in the vicinity of a MicroWave oven?
Have you disabled your onboard soundcard?
    Have you rebooted your PC?
Have you tried the soundcard in another PC?
Are you living near a nuclear powerplant?
    Is your PC running hot?
The problem is your third party speakset! Have you tried the Creative ones?

  • Photoshop CS3 and XP Service Pack 3

After installing SP3 for XP I encountered problems while opening files in Photoshop. It takes 10x times more to open GIF, JPEG, PNG and PSD files than before. While it opens, Photoshop seems to freeze and it takes up to 20 seconds until a 10x10 pixel file or a 10MB PSD file is opened. So size doesn't matter.
Do anyone have the same problem?

    I had it
    before SP3. See http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b65992/4

  • Exchange and UAG service pack compatibility

We are currently on Exchange 2010 SP2 and UAG 2010 SP1.  I want to upgrade Exchange to SP3, and later on UAG to SP4, but not all at the same time due to scheduling.  Ideally we'd like to do Exchange first, then a week later update UAG.  Will
Exchange 2010 SP3 be supported (function) on UAG SP1?  Should we update UAG to SP4 first, then later update Exchange 2010 to SP3 later?

    Hi,
Base on my experience, there were no release notes regarding both the two products compatibility issues.
You can upgrade the exchange first.
    Good luck!
    Thanks.

  • XP Pro, Service Packs 1,2,3, and sound card problems

I recently purchased a white macbook. So far it has been a very good experience, however I am having some trouble with XP Pro and its service packs. I've installed XP and it works fine for the most part however the sound card does not work. I tried to install the sound card drivers but they did not work. My questions are:
    - Do I need to install service pack 1 seperately or does it install with XP?
    - Can I only use service pack 2 for the drivers to work or can I use service pack 3 as well?
    - When I try to install service pack 2, it says that i require 4 more megabytes, I free space, however it still states the same thing, how do I resolve this?

Hi all and welcome to Discussions,
the 4MB error has amde its return with the Service Pack 3, so maybe these insructions can help you:
    1. Click Start - Run - Type “regedit” and press enter.
    2. Navigate to
    HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup
    HKEYLOCALMACHINE
    \Software
    \Microsoft
    \Windows
    \CurrentVersion
    \Setup
    3. In the right pane, Right-click and select New - String value
    4. Name it as “BootDir” and set its value to “C:\”
XP with Service Pack 2 was always a neecessity with BootCamp.
Microsoft has add some with the SP2 that are needed for BootCamp to work.
For older (pre-SP2 XP-CDs) you can use these instructions http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxpsp2slipstream.asp to make yourself a XP SP2 installation CD.
Works with SP3 as well, but to my knowledge you must have a XP SP1 CD for start.

  • XP and service pack 2

I have an old copy of XP I purchased in 2002. I am not sure, but I doubt that Service Pack 2 comes with it. How can I find out. The warning on Boot Camp says not install XP unless it is Win XP with Service Pack 2.
Is there a way I can install XP on our new alum iMac (20 inch, 2.4 ghz)?
    Any tips are appreciated.

Thanks for the pointer. There are so many steps to slip stream XP and the Service Pack that I am virtually certain it will never work using Vista. Vista is just a pig that doesn't work. It just never does. Not ever.
That is why I am trying to migrate to a Mac OS.
I am going to give it a try when I have a day or two free I guess. I am certain as death and taxes that Vista either won't DL the SP or won't allow me to combine the two together and make a new XP boot CD.
