K8MM3-V Cant Get onboard sound ?

Just bought a new system yesterday as my old athlon 960 packed up. I only want theis system (cheap upgrade of my old one) to accsses the net and whatever.
SPECS:
CASE: COOLMASTER Cavalier CAV-T03.
MOBO: MSI K8MM3-V
CPU: AMD Sempron 3000+
I took my time building PC up but still having trouble with LED front panle jumpers etc - NO LED lights on front panle.
Also am having problems setting up any kinda onboard sound? No idea which drivers etc to install ? (Running WIN98SE Oct 2003 O.S). I have installed quiet a few diff sound drivers but still no joy in hearing any sound pluse there is no sound icon in taskbar.
Anyone know which SOUND drivers I would need to install on this setup?

I had already D/L that file and tried it but after trying it again I seem to have got it working. I now have sound
Just the jumpers to sort out now and were off and running

The phone works fine with the headphones plugged in.
I have tried all the usual solutions, inserted and removed the headset (at least 50 times)

Nothing seems to work. I have searched on this and it seems to be a well know issue but there doesnt seem to be any firm solutions that i can find to fix the problem

If no change after inserting and removing the headset at least 50 times, powering the iPhone off and on, an iPhone reset, and restoring the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup, the iPhone has a hardware problem.
Make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.

Cant get my sound to work :(

I recently had to format my computer because of a virus that wouldnt let me log into windows. I was running win xp pro upgrade and it was running fine. Now i run win 98se becuase it wont let me upgrade for some wierd reason. but i cant get my sound to work. i try to install the drivers but i get a screen after the install wizard to put win98se cd in, select drive and press ok. well i clicked just about every option there was. and it would either flash back to the my documents on the selection screen or ask me if i want to cancell the installation, i have no idea what to do. I dont even know if it is recognizing that i even am using my integrated sound card. i would go and get another sound card but i dont have any money right now. anyone else have this problem or can help with with this problem??? ;(

You can tell whether the system has found your soundcard hardware by looking in "Device Manager" have you yellow question marks that show hardware (but no drivers)? My apologies if you've done this.
If I remember correctly (but don't quote me) when Windows98 asks for your 98SE disc it's looking for a file within one of the .CAB files on the 98SE (Correct me If I'm wrong) disc. If not, exactly which file is it looking for? - the requester should give you a clue. When you know what the file is, do a search on your 98 CD to see if you can find it. Then point the drivers install to that location (the directory where the .CAB OR relevant file resides.)
You say that after failing to find the file on the 98 CD that it reverts to "My Documents" this would suggest that you'd previously installed drivers (or other Win98SE software) from that location. For some reason Win 98 assumes (for some stupid reason) that it'll find any future files it needs at the same location as previously installed files.
Try installing the drivers for your sound using "Device Manager" click on the yellow question mark next to your hardware (if they are available) and Windows should open the "There is a problem with this device" (or words to that effect) requester and follow the instructions (wizard) from there.
I'm going to nip off now as I have 98 SE on a different partition (I very rarely use it). I'll have a look and get back to you later.

The problem is i am unable to get 6 channel audio in WIndows. But it is working in LINUX. What is the problem? I enabled the advanced settings from Control panel. I enabld 5.1 surround system from SOUND EFFECT COntrol panel. even though i can't get the sound. Please give me the solution.

I cant get surround sound to work on itunes

surround sound works on all my other programs like windows media players and for some reason itunes doesnt detect it! i really need this to gert working. sounds ways better with surround sound

Did some tests...
If I change the default audio device to the integrated audio device in the mainboard I get the same. Changing the bitrate in itunes or in the windows settings does not help either...
Anyone has a similar problem?
Or anyone has a similar setup and actually gets surround sound from itunes?
I rather keep renting and buying films through itunes and not switch to some other shop...

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data, but a reset can cure some glitches.
If this does not work, try to set it up as new device, explained in this article:
How to back up your data and set up as a new device
Don't use the backup afterwards, to rule out a software problem. If the camera is working again, restore from the backup.

Cant get stereo sound with alsa

i installed arch about 5 or 6 months ago and setup alsa for sound
The problem is that only the left speaker is working. Somehow i have gone all this time without ever noticing. I probably would still have not noticed except i booted into windows the other day, for the first time in about a year, and realized that I had two speakers working with media player.
i've scanned through the wiki and done some google and forum searching, but i can't seem to find anything about getting stereo sound to work with alsa.
Is anybody else having this problem? What can i do to make both speakers work?

Is this only for itunes. Try going into system preferences sound then output and choice the tv that should be for every thing.

Importing quicktime and getting no sound

I have two files. One is a quicktime uncompressed 8 bit 4:2:2 and the other one is a final cut pro movie file codec:apple ProIO vout 2vuy imdc, interget big. I am new to final cut...anyway, when I try importing the files. I can see them on Final cut pro but I cant get any sound...is there any presets I need to modify? what can i do to import the files with sound? thanks

Do you see the audio meters moving?
Do you see audio waveforms in the AUDIO tab of the viewer?
Do other clips work?
If yes to those, make sure VIEW menu towards the bottom has the audio going somewhere where it should. It might be going back out to the deck and you'd need to switch it to the internals.
If no... well -- could be your setup. Where's the file? On your system drive of the powerbook???? Bad news there. Get it off and onto a FW drive... actually that's probably your issue. I believe 8bit will need a raid setup to play correctly.

I can't get the sound!

Hi! I can't get the sound by using itunes & mplayerx & other video players even though I turn up the volume, but I do hear the sound on Youtube and other online players. Why this situation happened? btw, my quicktime works well. I really like mplayerx, but I cant get the sound! Can someone help me address this problem? Thanks so much!

K8N NEO PLAT - Onboard sound problems

I got a really confusing problem, maybe one of you could help me with...
My brother has s754 k8n neo plat motherboard and he has always used the onbard sound controller. Yeasterday we formatted his computer, and did a fresh XP installation. Since then i cant get the sound to work properly, only if i put the headphones in the "blue" input instead of the green. The sound is very low but works there.....I installed the latest Realtek Audio driver from the MSI page. According to windows the sound works perfect, no driver issues reported or anything...The mp3's start playin but theres NO sound....
Could it be driver issue? Updated to the lates BIOS also btw.

Have you tried adjusting the "Audio Out" and the "Dolby Digital" settings in settings > audio and video? It may be worth trying several combinations of these settings, although typically it is the "Dolby Digital" setting that causes most problems for users.
If you are using a sound system/receiver, make sure that you have correctly mapped the input port on your sound system to the output, if you are unsure about how to do this, refer to the manual that came with your sound system.
Have you tried playing various content sources (i.e. podcasts, music, iTunes Store video, other video etc), do you have the same problem with all types of content? If you use optical you might also check that you can see a red light at the end of your optical audio cable. Is your optical audio cable plugged straight into your sound system, or does it go through a switch or other device?

Cant get my ringer or other sounds to work. I'm not on airplane mode, nor on silent. I have turned the phone off and tried a hard reset.

If you have tried restart and reset ( nothing "hard" about it, justa reset), then try a restore from backup, then try a restore as new.
If that fails, then you like have a hardware issue.
Make an appointment at the genius bar.
