K8N Neo Platinum Freezes and Powers off - Please help

Hi,
I wonder if someone can help.
Ok just to set the scene I am completely non technical so please excuss my ignorance.
About 3 years ago I purchased a PC with a K8N motherboard and it has been fine, no problems at all.
Lately it has started powering down randomly leaving the power light flashing only.
Sometimes it switches off within 5 seconds of pressing the power button other times 10 minutes.
I've had it open to check connections and it seems to work better with the sides off but eventually crashes. Obviously, it is dusty inside. I've cleaned it as much as the dyson will allow.
If its in operation the program (windows etc) freezes then the PC turns off - leaving flashing light.
Only removing the power resets it but now it's only ok.
I haven't got any idea where to start.
Read about Power Supplies this one is the original Taurus TX-450-PFC-C ???
3.3v = 35A
5 v = 40A
12v = 18A
-5v = 1A
-12v = 1A
5Vsb = 2A
If anyone could offer some suggestions I would be eternally grateful.
Cheers
Paul

yes as DOK said PSU failure or CPU overheat, check CPU Cooler system too, ensure CPU is not overheating. re-seat CPU, apply new thermal paste, ensure CPU FAN is spin at expected RPM, and CPU temp is in normal range.

  • K8N Neo Platinum USB ports turning off?

    Hi there,
    I've had a K8N Neo Platinum board (in an ANTEC Sonata case, Athlon64 3200+) for a quite a while now and it recently developed a troubling new problem.  Every now and then, the all of theUSB ports will simply shut off, dropping whatever devices happened to be connected to them.  I have a USB keyboard and mouse, so this is a bit of a problem...   If I connect a PS2 keyboard, I get a keyboard back, but it's not a realistic compromise.  Also, once the ports have been dropped, trying to inspect them in Device Manager hangs the machine.
    I've read through the forum and see other problems related to USB ports with this board, but nothing quite like this.  I have already performed the cable snip trick for the front USB ports on the Sonata case (quite a while ago in fact, and it worked nicely) and I've already gone in the devices and turned off the "Allow this device to be turned off to save power" option.  Any other ideas on what to check?
    I recently added two new USB devices to the machine: an Apple USB Pro keyboard connected via a Geffen USB KVM, and the USB hub that's sitting inside my Dell 24" LCD.  I'm going to try disconnecting the Dell's USB hub to try and eliminate it as a problem, and if that doesn't do it, I'll try running with a PS/2 keyboard for a while.
    Anyway, if anyone else has seen this problem, I would love some assistance in fixing it.
    Thanks,

    AFAIK, there is no 1.B bios for the Neo Platinum (MS-7030), only for the Neo2?  Am I mistaken?

  • K8n neo2 platinum freezes and hangups

     Ok ,it's been 8 months now that i have k8n neo platinum 2 along with an amd 64 at 3.400.Since i got the machine i have been having problems.Sometimes the pc freezes with a screeching sound coming from the speakers and other times it just resets.And that both in full load and at desktop without running any program or game.Sometimes i even write in msn and it freezes.
     I have updated the bios into 1.7 version today.I do not know if the problem is fixed because it is only a few hours since i did that.Do you know of any possible causes about this?i also had problems with the core center as it never showed any correct temperatures.Now after the bios upgrade it shows: cpu:43 c  and nb: 46 c. at desktop. Of course it is summer and hot outside but it still seems high comparing with the temperatures other pc's like mine have.Anyway here are my specs:
      Amd 64 at 3.400
      K8n Neo Platinum 2
      1gb ram (2x512)
      Audigy 2 zs platinum
      Ati 9800 pro
      And the case is the tsunami by thermaltake with 3 external fans.

    mmm sounds familiar
    My computer was doing the exact same thing as yours. it took me weeks to find the problem with many posts on this forum.
    In bios in cell info "disable"  dynamic overclocking and high performance mode set this to manual
    Once i disabled these 2 options my computer runs 100% stable as soon as they are switched on it frezzes etc.
    it may sound strange as i havnt come accoss this problem before but give it a try.
    Im starting to loose confidence in msi, why make a board were u carnt use AGP fastwrites or the above 2 options
    (well at least on my machine)
    hope this helps

  • K8N Neo Platinum RMA and Processor RMA...Still No Post

    I recently RMA'd my MSI K8N Neo Platinum nForce3 board after trying all the stickied information at the top.
    I received the board and still my system did not post....soooo, I RMA'd the processor (AMD 64 3000+) and got a new one.
    I just tried to put my system back together and still no post.
    My Video card (Radeon 9800 Pro) and Ram (OCZ 512) test out ok in another computer (not an AMD 64)
    I also recently purchased a new 450 Watt Power Supply.
    However, when I put everything together, it doesn't post and doesn't beep. The D-Bracket for the record is all Red LEDs, although I've read some threads that say that doesn't necessarily mean the processor is dead/seated incorrectly.
    Help me! Thanks.

    Try another keyboard , disconnect jusb1/jusb2 internal connections to case front panel or multicard reader device .
    Also try to get the system to post without any hd/opticals connected to ide or sata ports .
    After changing/disconnecting things do a cmos reset and try again .
    There must be something in your rig preventing post if yo've received a new mobo from rma , and cpu too .

  • K8N Neo Platinum nForce3 and ram

    can K8N Neo Platinum run 3 memory dimms X 512MB DDR400 PC3200 at the same time.

    Wouldn’t it be better to look at the AMD website for there list of
    compatible Ram to use with the AMD64, because the MB Chipset
    has 0% to do with the memory, it’s all controlled by the integrated
    memory controller in the CPU.
    I understand that MSI has tested many different brands and types
    of DDR with the MSI K8N Neo Platinum, but to get the most optimal
    performance wouldn’t one want to use what AMD recommends.
    As for the integrated DDR memory controller in the AMD64, I was
    reading a article at AMD, and it stated that the AMD64 supports
    low latency Ram, so wouldn’t it be better to run the lowest latency
    Ram that one could obtain.
    This Ram is one of the lowest latency I found so far, the new
    Corsair XMS 3200XL, with tight CL 2-2-2-5, 1T memory timings,
    which uses the new Samsung TCCD Revision F’s, 4ns, memory
    modules.  The Samsung’s are one of the DDR DRAM Modules
    that are validated by AMD to use with the AMD 64.
    The review below, states they had 100% success using the new
    Corsair XMS 3200XL in the nForce3-250, so I’m hoping that I will
    have the same results, I really don’t want to RMA them.
    Here is a review on the new: Corsair XMS 3200XL Memory

  • Mac Pro keep freezing and powering off itself

    I have a Mac Pro 2008. For weeks now, it will start, work for plus minus 4 minutes and freeze or go off itself.
    There is no authorised maintenance in my country. Has someone experience the same before ? Have tried all reset, etc..
    Does it has to do with the power supply ? It is connected via a UPS.
    PLEASE HELP.
    Fortune

    Can you tell us how much RAM  (Memory) you have? It's listed by clicking on the  in your title  bar....go to About This Mac and it's in the 1st window.
    We would also like to know what size hard drive you have and how much free space is on it.
    If you click on your Hard drive icon (should be upper right hand corner of your screen), or the Finder in your Dock...when the window opens it says at the bottom how much Free Space you have on your drive.
    If you go to the , click on About This Mac, click on More Info... in that window. The next window says how big your hard drive is under Hardware....click on Serial-ATA.....look under Capacity:
    We need to know this cause if a hard drive is too full it slows things down and creates operational difficulties.

  • K8n Neo Platinum Freezes While in BIOS Cell Menu

    I have been trying to fix a reboot problem with my new K8N Neo2 Platinum system (see separate post if interested in details). Someone suggested I change HT value in Cell menu in the BIOS from 5x to 4x.  I had not tried to access this item before.  Well, when I pressed "ENTER" while the HT line was highlighted, I got an outline of a text box that should have have had values in it I suppose but iin fact it had no text at all.  Furthermore, the BIOS screen was frozen and I was unable to continue without pressing ALT+CTRL+DEL.  The system restarted and I entered the BIOS again, went to the HT line in the Cell menu and the system froze again when I tried to edit the HT value.  (The BIOS is v 1.4).  I presume this means that the MB is defective.
    Also, I cannot use the F10 key while in BIOS menu to "Save and Exit" as I could with my previous A2N MB.  Has anyone else noticed this?
    Any help and/or comments would be appreciated.

    Thanks!  I was able to change the HT setting but unfortunately it did not solve my power-on-after-soft-reboot problem.

  • K9N Neo-F Freeze and restart problem. Help needed!

    Hi there,
    I recently bought a Mainboard (K9N Neo-F S/N: 601-7260-010K0605023133) that seems to shutdown every now and then. No blue screen... it just freezes for a while and then shuts down. My CPU temperature is very low, I've used a lot of coolingpaste and I have tried every possible way of mounting memorys... 1,2,4... and in different slots. I've run Memtest also. The BIOS-version is the newest according to the Liveupdate-function. The power supply should be enough but I have tested disconnecting everything else then one harddrive and the mobo... doesn't work.
    Sometimes it happens with three hours between the occations and sometimes five minutes. Not related to anything special that is done on the computer.
    Is this a problem that is common...? Related to hardware or bios...? I would be glad for any advice you could give.
    Thanks in advance. Really need help... this drives me mad...
    /Christian

    I started Orthos and then left the computer alone. Went and watched a film, when I got back after 1 hour and 38 minutes or something like that the computer freezed. I will try leaving it on all night without touching a thing... kind of strange that it happens right when I sit down and move the mouse.
    Thanks a lot for trying to help... it's appreciated.

  • K8N Neo Platinum not passing POST

    Hello,
    I have just bought an MSI K8N Neo Platinum OEM and it will not pass POST. I have gone through all the items in the Sticky section, but still it won't pass. I don't know what to do.
    Here's the hardware I have hooked up:
    MSI K8N Neo Platinum motherboard (has "MS-7030 VER:1" written on it)
    Athlon 64 3000+ CPU, 512 K L2 Cache (ADA3000AEP4AP)
    Kingston RAM (KVR400X64C3A/512)
    Radeon 7200 graphics card (about 4 years old)
    Seasonic S12 380 PSU
    Thermalright XP-90 heatsink w/ 90mm Nexus fan
    I have hooked up the 24-pin power cable to the 20-pin motherboard slot using the 24-to-20 pin adaptor supplied with the PSU.
    The 12v 4-pin CPU power cable is also plugged in.
    The graphics card is plugged into the AGP slot. There is no other power connection needed.
    I have installed the CPU with a Thermalright XP90 heatsink and a Nexus 90 mm quiet fan.
    I have hooked up the fan to the motherboard C_FAN1 slot.
    I have installed the RAM (Kingston KVR400X64C3A/512) into DIMM slot 1.
    I attached the case fans to the power supply and hooked up the case speaker.
    I have also hooked up the front panel power and reset switches.
    I bought the motherboard OEM, so it did not include a D-bracket. I have built a pseudo-D-bracket using two-colour LEDs and plugged it into the D-bracket slot.
    With this work done, I plugged in the power supply. The power supply has an on/off switch on the back. As soon as I turn on the switch, the computer tries to boot up. All the fans start spinning (power supply, CPU cooler, case fans, video card fan). Nothing appears on the screen. The case speaker emits a long beep, waits about 5 seconds, then beeps again, and continues this pattern forever. The documentation says that this indicates a memory issue.
    My homemade D-bracket shows the following: initially, all the LEDs are red. Then, the LED across JLED1 pins 7 & 8 turns green (with all other LEDs red). I assume that this corresponds to LED 1 being lit, although it really looks like it should be LED 4. Next, the LED across JLED1 pins 5 & 6 turns green (with all other LEDs red). Once again, I assume this corresponds to LED 2 being lit, although it looks like it should be LED 3. I looked this up and the documentation indicates a memory error. To solve the problem, I have tried the following things:
    1. Hitting reset. Same boot sequence.
    2. Clearing the CMOS using the JBAT1 jumper. I left the jumper at "clear data" for about 10 minutes, then switched it back. Same boot sequence as before.
    3. Clearing the CMOS by removing the battery. I left the battery out for 3 minutes, then 30 minutes, then 8 hours. Same boot sequence.
    4. Removing the motherboard from the case. I placed the motherboard on the anti-static bag it came in. Repeated steps 1, 2 and 3. Nothing.
    5. Move the RAM to DIMM slot 2 or 3. Tried steps 1, 2 and 3 again. The boot-up sequence was the same.
    6. Different RAM. I have also tried using OCZ 400 MHz 512MB unbuffered DDR memory (OCZ400512V3). Performed steps 1-5 with identical results.
    7. No RAM. Same boot problem.
    8. No video card. Ditto.
    9. No RAM or video card. Exactly the same as before.
    As far as I can tell, all components are supported. The only item I am very unsure of is the graphics card. I do not have the exact specifications on it. When it is in my other computer, the driver details identify it only as a "Radeon 7200". However, it does have the "golden finger" shown at www.msicomputer.com/support/sup_tshoot.asp#1_3. Even if the video card is not compatible, it seems like the beep codes and D-bracket codes both indicate memory issues.
    The only thing that I have noticed that is weird (other than the fact that the computer won't pass POST) is that when I turn on the power supply, the computer immediately boots up. I don't know whether or not this is normal.
    Lastly, I do not know the current BIOS version. Is it possible that the BIOS is an early version that does not support my memory/CPU/video card? I bought the mobo OEM, so I do not know what BIOS it has loaded. Is there some way I can figure this out without passing POST? This is driving me absolutely insane.
    Thank you for your help,
    Kyle Renwick

    Make sure the fan you are using for the xp90 is supporting RPM readouts .
    Then try another AGP gfx card , sometimes you can have a no post due to that the graphics adapter wont start .
    Take the system bare bone ( mobo + cpu + ram + gfx )
    Have any award beep codes ? , note them down and decode them against
    http://bioscentral.com/beepcodes/awardbeep.htm
    Still stuck !
    Remove AGP + ram too .
    The mobo shall beep (endless beeping )
    Insert the ram , the mobo shall beep - missing gfx .
    Got this far and you know cpu + memory initialize but have problems with gfx or other devices
    later in the post/init process .
    Do not have any usb devices connected to internal or external connectors ,
    note that the USBOC pin un JUSB1/JUSB2 is NOT to be connected .
    Also try altering between ps2 and usb keyboard as this also has caused non post situation for people .

  • K8N Neo Platinum Mysterious Power off

    well to start off i here is the info on my PSU:
    -MSI K8N Platinum (MS-7030) ver:1 (Never overclocked)
    -AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (Never overclocked)
    -2x 512MB PC3200 DDR400 Generic Memory (Never overclocked)
    -ATI Radeon x850 XT Platinum (Never overclocked)
    -1x Maxtor 80GB SATA HDD
    -1x Panasonic 16x DL DVD Burner
    -1x Samsung 16x DVD ROM Drive
    now on to the problem....
    i have had this system running for the past week and things have not been right from the get go. first i had to deal with a faulty HDD from seagate now my motherboard has learned how to click off with out the slightest provocation. i can't figure it out. it is in the middle of the night. my PC is open on my desk and while i am playing HL2 the computer will just *click* and everything goes black, the HDD heads click to a stop, the fans halt, the monitor goes black, and the power LED just sits there taunting me with a steady heartbeat of 3 secs on and 3 secs off over and over. BAAAAAA.... so i reach for the power button and give it a somewhat satisfying click only to become more angry to the fact that nothing happens; so being the elite technical support person i am i try the button again but to no avail . now i am loosing it and as my blood pressure begins to rise i angrily shut off my UPS with a vengeful CA-CHUNK of the main switch. thinking that my worst fears are over and that i was dreaming i look up at the once vibrant and pulsing LED waiting for it to go out only to find that the light kept pulsing for some time until it died in blackness. feeling that revenge was complete i flip on the UPS and then press the power button to see that my motherboard is now back to life and completely fine. so i go on my merry way fragging and winning the realms of city 17 only to have the same horrid story repeat itself once again   .
    i can turn on my computer just fine after cutting the power however the frequency of this event does not permit any educated guess as to its future occurrences. it is needless to say erratic and still aggravating. is there anything that can be done to same my precious gaming rig? thanks in advance,
    -Mr. Burrito Man

    Hi,
    It looks indeed as a PSU problem. I had a similar problem with an MSI KT3 Ultra ARU. In that particular case, the PSU,
    which claimed to to be a 480 Watt PSU,  was a very poor one, which could not even reach 320 Watt...
    is there a way i could test my PSU in for this?

    ...The symptoms were the same you're having on your K8N Neo Platinum. Once we tried with a more decent and powerful
    PSU, a Cooler Master® RealPower 550 PSU we use for testing purposes only. The computer didn't shut of again during a
    3 Day Continous Test, we conduct for such problems...
    yeah my PC never lasts over 1 day and that has only happened once.

    After that, we installed a new CoolerMaster® RealPower 550 PSU, on that computer , and tested the computer again for three
    more days. Since then that computer has never shut down without warning.
    Now the questions are:
    * Have you tried another PSU ?
    * If so, does it do the same thing?
    not yet but i definitely will now.  *sigh* i as hoping this would be something non-expensive. baa
    let you know tomorrow or the next day...

    If not, give it a try, in most cases it may solve the problem. If the problem persist, please come back and let us know.
    By the way, one more thing: Is your RAM ok ?, Have you mixed different speed sticks ?
    Good luck
    nope nope both sticks are the same. i am planning to switch out the memory for my high performance OCZ sticks but i didn't want them to get damaged in the cross fire. i have done some extensive memory tests for these sticks that i have had in there now and they come clean every time. more in a day or so. thanks again,

    --Quick Guide for flashing BIOS, provided by MSI--
    1. Create a MS-DOS boot diskette, then copy the the .exe and the bios file to the floppy disk. Both of these files can be found in the package you downloaded.
    2. Press "Delete" and go to BIOS setup while computer bootup.
    Check BIOS advanced features and see if BIOS flash write control is enabled
    (This option must be enabled. If you can not find this setting, it means the BIOS can be
    flashed.)
    3. Boot from MS-DOS boot diskette and get a:\> prompt.
    4. Type "", then press ENTER
    5. The flash program will then ask "Do you want to save BIOS?", please press "N" for no. The when you see Press 'Y' to program or 'N' to Exit, please press "Y" to continue.
    6. After flashing complete, remove floppy and reset the system .
    7. Press DELETE or F1 when prompted at first reboot after flashing.
    8. Load BIOS optimized defaults, then save settings and exits.
    Drivers & Needed Files:
    (Note: All these drivers are for Windows XP.)
    Leaked Nvidia nForce3 Chipset Drivers Version 4.40
    (Please use at your own risk, these are LEAKED drivers. Password for the .zip file is "ocworkbench rules". Also, you will need to rename the WinXP_2K folder in IDE to either WinXP or Win2K else the installer doesn't pick it up.) Thanks for the link Wonkanoby!
    *NEW* Leaked Nvidia nForce3 Chipset Drivers Version 5.03
    More leaked drivers? Seems some parts of the drivers are older and some are newer.
    1. Windows XP Service Pack 1A (Web Install) -or- Windows XP Service Pack 1A (Full Install)
    2. Microsoft DirectX 9.0b (Web Install) -or- Microsoft DirectX 9.0b (Full Install)
    3. Nvidia nForce3 Chipset Drivers Version 4.24
    4. AMD Athlon 64 Processor Driver Version 1.1.0.14
    5. Nvidia Video Card Driver Version 56.72 -or- Omega Nvidia Video Card Driver Version v1.5303
    (The Omega drivers are third party drivers optimized for gaming, most prefer these over the standard Nvidia drivers.)
    5. ATI Video Card Driver Version 4.7 -or- Omega ATI Video Card Driver Version 2.5.51
    (The Omega drivers are third party drivers optimized for gaming, most prefer these over the standard ATI drivers.)
    6. Onboard Sound Driver (Realtek AC'97 Audio Codec) Version A3.61
    It is HIGHLY reccomended that you install the drivers/needed files in the order listed above. Please note that there are two #5's because you either install one or the other depending on your video card, do not install both of them.
    You will come across a problem here though. You can't install the chipset drivers without installing the Windows service pack and DirectX first, but the Windows service pack and DirectX installs need the internet to download files and you won't have working internet until you install the chipset drivers. Here's what I did to get around this. Instead of downloading the web install versions of Windows service pack and DirectX, download the full version and and put them along with all the other drivers on a backup hard drive or burn them to a CD, this way you will have all the drivers you need when it's time to install them and none of them will require the internet to download files.
    Another note when installing drivers. Apparently the Nvidia chipset drivers also come with drivers for the onboard sound, but people seem to agree that the Realtek onboard sound drivers are better. When you are installing the Nvidia chipset drivers, just be sure to uncheck the box for sound drivers when it asks you which drivers you would like to install. Now you can safely install the Realtek drivers without any chance of conflicting sound drivers. Thanks for the tip Wonkanoby!

    The installer still reccomends to install it beforehand for full USB 2.0 functionality... I would have put what you said in there but I wanted to keep it as simple as possible.
    oh.  IIRC the installer just says USB 2.0 will be fully functional after SP1 is installed.  So after you install SP1 you go into device manager and u click update driver and it will auto search and update the driver.
    Simplicity-wise, i guess its pretty much equal.  It might take less preparation to just copy DX9 full onto a CD and install that first, then nforce driver, then right away you have yoru internet connection.
    but i dunno.. i guess i will try it your way this time when my RMA"d board comes.
    i will be fomratting and doing a fresh install later on today and will let you know if i come across any problems

  • K8n neo platinum restarts or freezes :(

    ok, hopefully you guys can help me, you seem to be pretty good at helping poeple on this forum.  i want to say first that i have gone through this forum countless times during my time with this motherboard.  I've searched and read alot on this problem, but i need help diagnosing my computer.  My problem is this.  I've had this computer for a little over a year, and it's ran fine up until about 2 months ago.  I had a problem where i went to turn it on and it started but then shut off after about 4 seconds.  i then had to flip the switch onthe psu for another chance.  Then it worked, and worked for about a month without ever sseeing this happen again in that time.  then recently it happend again only this time it never started up.  eventually it would sometimes turn on and stay on, but wouldn't boot.  i would have to use the psu to turn it off.  i tried then the cmos and battery to no help.  I rma'ed the board and when i recieved the new one i put it in.  Now, my computer works as far as booting and everything. Everyting installed fine as far as os and drivers, games, ect.. Only it restarts or freezes randamly.  I say that cause it doesn't necissarly mean when playing games or intense programs.  it happend while i was typing this 2 times for example.  I've done things like checked temps on cpu which show in the 30s idle.  i've ran virus and spyware programs.  I've flashed bios back to 1.4 which is what i had before and worked fine sept the temps readings, which i didn't mind.  i flashed because i thought maybe 1.7 was my problem. I've also, what's making this hard to tell for me, ran stuff like 3dmark 05 without a crash, or full rounds of games fine.  But other times durijng a game or just a webpage it'll crash.  What i need is help finding the component that is causing this problem.  I'm not sure what tests to use, but will try anything and tell yous results.  I can buy a new piece to replace something, or rma something possibly, but i'd rather not just buy peices without any reason.  Any help would be appreciated greatly.  My build is
    amd athlon 64 3400+
    Ati radeon x800pro
    ocz pc3200 400mhz ddram 1024mb
    msi k8n neo platinum 1.4
    wd 10,000 rpm 8mb ws740gd
    sound blaster audigy 2
    antec neo power 480w

    ok, first, thanks for being patient with me richard and for taking time to help
    2 things before the list.  1: other lan is in there cause i originally a year ago had trouble using the onboard one and there was a brand new lan card a friend had laying around.  Then recently i was able to use the onboard to connect to net and the lan card to allow my girlfriend to go online through me on her laptop.
    2.  i just noticed in my computer it's showing i have a floppy drive, which i don't, but i suspect this is from the other night the cmos error and it reset my bios i think, so i just have to redue that.

    i should say also, if this shows my drivers are not updated, i didn't because i never did before and it worked fine for a year, and i'm one of those that has the motto "if your computer is fine, don't tweak or upgrade stuff, don't touch or do anything"

    take CPU out and find a way to test it somewhere else. if CPU is fine, then must be failure mainboard if we dismiss PSU factor(you have already tested with 2 PSU's good ones)

  • K8N Neo Platinum: no video output, long beep and long wait, led 3 green

    I have a K8N Neo Platinum for about 4 years without big problems. Two days ago I dismounted teh pc to clean and put a new HD and when I mounted again it did not work.
    Problem:
    Quote
    * System hangs and no video output;
    * Speaker keep making long beep followed by long rest;
    * D-Bracket LEDs are 3 green and 1, 2, 4 red meaning it hangs somewere near teh keyboard controller initialization;
    What I have tried:
    With no change:
    Quote
    * Taken off everything from teh MB and put back only CPU, PSU, RAM, VGA and plugs for power and reset switch;
    * Turn on teh MB out of teh case;
    * Clear teh CMOS setting JBAT1 and by removing battery;
    * Tried all possible combinations of one and two RAM sticks and slots on MB;
    * Take out all of teh RAM;
    * Take out VGA;
    * Take out RAM and VGA;
    * Switched VGA;
    * Switched PSU;
    With little change:

    * Take out CPU: make all four leds red and no beep.

    I have already had some problems like this before with power failures but magically things worked again. This time was teh same. I got things working some times at random (really random lol) by taking power cables, reseting bios and turning back on but teh problem reapeared when I put HDD back and did not work again when I removed it. Now I can't seem to get it to display anything.
    Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
    EDIT: sry I made a little confusion: It is a K8N Neo and not a K8N Neo2.

    Thanks!
    Keyboard problem, you think? What do you have?
    Two things that are quite common:
    Do not attach PS2 keyboard when there is power in the system.
    Do attach USB keyboards when you are up and running in Windows.
    This is not it, but Logitech keyboard drivers often complicate things.
    I do use a PS2 kbd but never had problems with it (unlike teh PS2 mouse). I do not think it's kbd fault because it won't POST with or without it.
