K8N Neo2 problems running 300MHz HTT and higher than "100MHz" RAM divider

Hi!
Got some problems with my K8N Neo2 when running the HTT much above 300MHz, only RAM divider that's stable is "100MHz" which means the RAM runs at the half speed of HTT. That's not good since my RAM does 270MHz with "200MHz"/1:1 divider.
This is not a problem when I run my FX-55, but when I was going to overclock my 3000+ Winchester where the highest MP is 9 this is a big problem. It does 3004MHz (9x334MHz) stable with Prime95 and runs Super Pi at 3135MHz (9x348MHz), but with only 174MHz (348MHz/2) on my RAM the performance is bad. CPU is cooled by Prometeia Mach II.
I'm running HT Frequency/LDT of 3x, any of the settings under 3x doesn't work right (looks like 2,5x equals 3x and 2x, 1,5x and 1x equals 4x). Any BIOSes where the HT Frequency settings below 3x works right?
Thanks for any inputs on this subject.

Why are you insistent on running your frequency at 300Mhz and higher?  Why not lower the frequency and increase the multiplier?  For example, you could run 275Mhz x 11 for a CPU frequency of 3025Mhz.  Then you could still run your RAM at the 1:1 ratio.....
Just a thought -- curious why you haven't tried that...

  • K8N Neo2, can't set CPU voltage higher than 1,6V

I've a problem with the CPU voltage. I can not set it to 1,7V. When I change voltage in bios to 1,55+10%, monitoring shows only 1,6 (as with 1,45+10%) but not 1,7. When I leave only 1,55, monitoring shows that voltage is about 1,4-1,41...     I tried different bios versions - 1.5; 1.7; 1.8; and it's the same with each version... Disabling C'n'Q or loading bios defaults doesn't help :-(
How can I fix this problem?

The DFI system is awsome... with two 6800GT's, even Gary did the same when I told him about it... hehe. Getting 88 fps in the Doom3 timedemo, around 299 fps in HL2 (159 is the minimum) with 1280x1024 with 4x FSAA and 16x Aniso and 21000 pts in 3dMark2003 and near 10000 pts in 2005. I love it, even if I am up to my neck in debt because of it... hehe
Only problem is the power usage, an Enermax 600w is not enough to power the system if I want to overclock the Venice 3200+ to more than 2.61 ghz... and I bet I can reach 2.8 ghz with only one video card
Too bad I can't quite afford that level of kit... yet. But I DO have a rather large freelance deal in the works & I might take the plunge!   Otherwise, I may just settle for a Venice 3500 - I hear that some are able to get 300FSB out of them with a Neo2 Plat... So the "old" girl might have a bit of life left.... If I can get 275 with a Winnie now... 300 should be doable. I think SLI would be wasted on me right now though, since I just have a 19" monitor.
Never thought I'd hear that 600w isn't enough juice - that's "progress", I guess. Still, I wouldn't think that a Venice would need all that much power to go further than 2.6Ghz - I've seen article where they got 2.8 out of about 1.55 - 1.6v....

  • I have constant K8N Neo2 problems advice needed. (long) Update

I need some advice on what my problem might be and if I need to RMA the motherboard or power supply.
I have a new Athlon 64 3500+ processor, MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum BIOS v1.3 motherboard, with 2 512MB DIMMs of Corsair Value Select Memory. I have had and am still having a series of crashes and lock-ups I will list below. FULL SYSTEM SPECS BELOW AT BOTTOM.
I initially installed the motherboard with a SINGLE 120GB hard drive from the old machine and the installed the memory in memory slots 1 & 2 to try dual channel memory mode. I then formatted the C partition and did a clean install of Windows XP Professional with SP2, installed the MSI drivers on the installation CD that came with the motherboard (Nvidia nForce3 Version 5.03 System Drivers, Realtek gigabit ethernet driver, Realtek AC97 audio driver) & the GeForce v66.93 video driver. I then got my first blue screen "MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION" crash, I ignored this crash and rebooted. I shortly got a black screen crash which I also ignored.
I then installed a new 200GB hard drive and a old 120GB so I could transfer the data from the old 120GB to the new 200GB drive. The data transfer went fine. As I was preparing to install some applications I then got my second blue screen "MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION" crash. Suspecting the Corsair Value Select Memory could not handle dual channel I ran Memtest-86 for 2 passes and got NO errors with the memory in dual channel mode, so I left it.
With my data backed up on the 200GB new drive I removed the new 200GB and the second 120GB hard did another clean install of Windows XP Professional with SP2, this time with Nvidia’s nForce3 Version 5.10 system drivers, the Realtek gigabit ethernet driver and Realtek AC97 audio driver  from the motherboard installation CD & the GeForce v66.93 video driver. I downloaded the latest version of Core Center and installed it and got it working. CPU temperatures were showing a low of around 29C, average of about 44C, and spikes at full loads of about 55-57C. I then ran Ghost to back up the boot partition. I installed all my applications, reinstalled the 200GB and 120 GB hard drives moved some data around with no crashes.
I then installed Rome Total War and played for about 2 hours and had one black screen crash after the reboot played for 4 more hours with no problems so I shut down and went to bed.
In the morning I got up started the computer let it run for awhile the CPU temperatures were in the low 30Cs to low 40Cs I tried to copy some files from the D partition to desktop and the screen freezes I waited about 5 min. with no change and no drive light activity so I hit the reset button. Upon reboot I got a ‘no system disk found” error, I went into the BIOS and checked the drive set-ups and boot priority, everything was correct. I tried for a half hour to get the system to boot with on luck. I used the Ghost to restore the partition image I had made earlier and still no boot. I finally decided to reinstall XP again put in the installation CD and when I got to the screen where you decide where to install Windows I changed my mind quit and bingo the machine boots into the restored Ghost partition???? I started to reinstall my applications got one more blue screen"MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION" crash and another screen freeze that I had to reset.
So I decided to start from real scratch I removed the new 200GB and the second 120GB hard drive ran Killdisk on the boot drive, made a new clean 20GB C partition and did another clean install of Windows XP Professional with SP2, this time with Nvidia’s nForce3 Version 5.10 system drivers, the Realtek gigabit ethernet driver and Realtek AC97 audio driver from the motherboard installation CD & the GeForce v66.93 video driver. I installed the latest version of Core Center and installed it and got it working. CPU temps were as before.
I tested the memory with Memtest-86 again 2 passes no errors. Just in case I then moved one of the memory DIMMs to memory slot 3 out of dual channel mode and to a slower speed and ran Memtest-86 for about 20 hours with 21 passes with no memory errors, so I think memory can be ruled out as the problem.
Next I installed my applications I got one screen freeze that I had to reset. I reinstalled the other 200GB and 120GB hard drives. After I got all my applications install and Ghosted the boot partition. I have had one more one screen freeze that I had to reset.
I have a problem I simply cannot figure out. The memory is obliviously fine. While I have seen CPU temperatures spikes as high as 57C the CPU temps as reported by Core Center averages in the high 30Cs or low 40Cs and most of crashes/lock-ups don’t seem to occur during high CPU load/temp. The power supply might be a little light for the system but many of the crashes have occurred with only one hard drive in the system. The fact after one for the lock-ups the system would not boot for awhile and then magically just booted gives me concern there might be a motherboard problem.
Any solution ideas would be appreciated. Should I RMA the power supply, the motherboard, or both.

Great isn't it (although not without the occasional crash)
Would you say it's better but not there yet ? or the same ?
I thought the same as Ibn Quote
Your PS unit is a little weak for that much hardware, but I doubt thats your problem as well
re your PSU, given youv'e got a less hungry Graphic Card, thought it was at worse marginal, have seen worse.
To investigate further it may be worth diconnecting one of your HD, maybe the 200gb for a time.
It's a small thing but it may be slightly better to have both your maxtors together on IDE channel 1, given their identical.

  • MSI K8N NEO2 Problems problems..

    Hi,
I bought a MSI K8N Neo2 (Antec 480W PSU Lian Li Case 6800GT). Got major problems with it, Mouse and Keyboard don't seem to work on power on often. Also when they do work, there are stability problems (no overclocking stock AMD cpu fan).
does this sound like it needs RMAing? anyone else seen similar problems or got suggestions to a fix?
    Cheers

  • Bios issues with k8n neo2, turn of memory test, and dmi pool data

    Hey guys.
I recently flashed my bios to the 1.9's for the K8n neo2 running in my main machine.
Everything went ok for the most part, though i had some issues with boot record, and boot.cfg file.  That stuff is all worked out now.
However, with this bios, I constantly get the extended memory test, on my 2 gigs of ram.  The old bios i had, 1.4's, didnt do that.  Is there an option to turn that off?  I cant seem to find it any where?
My 2nd question is this, after this bios upgrade, my verifying dmi pool data takes longer then it used to, if it even did it before, im not sure, because my boot sequence was much faster.
How can I get rid of the "verifying dmi pool data" or speed it up?
    Thanks guys

Tried to used the Bios 1c by Syar's. His bios is nice and easy. Maybe bould solve your problem.BTW do used liveupdate to flashed your Bios or is it manual? Stay away from using liveupdate as it causing a lot problems. Manual is the best way. Refer to my sig for the manual flashing. Here's the location of the files for the Bios 1C. Gd luck.

  • K8N Neo2 problem - PSU switch turns system on, then no POST

    Hi,
I am building a new system with the following:-
    MSI k8N Neo2 platinum
    Athlon 64 3200+
    Asus Star Ice CPU cooler
    ATI Radeon 9500 pro
    Crucial DDR 3200 512MB x 2
    Tagan 480W PSU TG480-U01
    Silverstone Temjin TJ05 case
The problem I am getting is as follows: once I have connected everything to the motheroard and switch the PSU on using it's own button, the whole system starts up - the HDDs spin, the CPU cooler fan, system fan and motherboard fans all start, but I get no POST just a blank screen with no output to my monitor. This happens without me pushing the case power button; I have checked the case leads and they are all ok - indeed, this happens even when there are NO leads fron the case front panel conected to the motherboard at all - the system just starts as described above when I push the Tagan PSU switch.
When I had the K8Ns back-plate connected, I was getting the same error signal that suggests there is something wrong with the memory (3 red LEDs and 1 Green, I think); but I check the memory installation which was ok, and my memory is working fine with my old system.
To try and figure out what was going on, I gradually disconnected EVERYTHING from the motherboard, even the CPU, and took it out of the case and stood it on a large piece of cardboard. After connecting the power supply to it I pushed the PSU button and the same thing happened - the motherboard started up (I know that it started because the motherboard northbridge fan started and also I have the cpu cooler fan attached still, which also started up).
I then tried my old 300W PSU to see if the problem was with the Tagan and guess what - exactly  the same problem occured; I know for sure my old PSU works as I am using it in my old system right now!
So, my question is does anyone know what's going on / have any suggestions? I personally think my motherboard is faulty - can anyone confirm the likelyhood of this?
Any help would be MUCH appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hey Guys,
Try starting with only one stick of ram.  If your boards Bios is 1.2 or lower, it may not boot and mimic the symptoms that have been expressed.  This especially true of the new 90ns chips.  They can't handle the dual channel until 1.3 Bios.  Also
a good guess is that there seems to be a run of poorly flashed units or that some other influence is causing the problem.
These boards are extremly suceptible to electro-static shock. One little shock will alter the board so that it will have problems. This surge of static electricity will alter componets, it is sometime undetectable so that the builder has no idea that this has occured. It will cause the Unit not to boot, or corrupt the bios.
The AMD chip is extremly rugged, I've had lost two boards to mishaps and the chip (to my surprize survived, water accident and a definite static shock incident). Also so, some interesting findings that I've found when building with the 90ns chip (10 Units).
    1. If the board has the 1.1 or 1.2 Bios version, you can install only one stick of mem in the first slot or two sticks, but with two sticks they must be in the green slots. You should be able to boot and reflash to the latest Bios version. It does not like to be in dual channel mode.
    2. If you configure a Raid setup, initialize and decide you don't want to have a Raid setup (O.C. issues) and you simply disable the Raid in the Bios setup, your system will hang during the boot process. You must go into the Raid controller and remove the Raid array.
    3. If you are having to RMA a board, request if available that the Seller test the returning board and Pre-Test the new board to verify that it is functioning. This way you will feel confident that you received a properly functiong board to build your system with. I hope this helps.
Some of this info is reprinted material from another one of my posts, but it might help in a diagnostic investigation of the listed problems.
Here is some other info on the self starting PSU's.  Some Psu's start up with the following on: PSU switch on the PSU is on, the PSU connectors are on.  The case power on switch may or not be connected.
The cause of this is due to the protective circuitry in the PSU and the connections to the mother board.  As the in-rush of current meets with PSU's "board connection circuitry" sends a pluse and gets a 'connection ok' signal the PSU turns on.  Depending on the electrical conntruction this condition seems to activate a part of the ATX specs for 'outside wake up condition" that sends a 'circut complete to active 'full on' status.
Now as the power is supplied to the board the BIOs and the Voltage componets recieve power the board program reconizes that this is a fault condition and refuses to boot.  However it is still recieving power to the Voltage controller section.  That's why the componets that do not need Bios information to run work.  If the case switch for powering the board is installed properly and pressed, the board reconizes the input and turns the power off.

  • K8N Neo2 Problems!! Please Help!

Hi there, another n00b here in this forum...
Just wanted some help with one of my K8N Neo2 mobos...
I have 4 of these mobos... 3 seem to work fine but the 4th one has given me major headaches...
    I have tried 2 x 3200+ Winnies as well as 2 x 3500+ NewCastles & a 3500+ Winnie as well...
    Ram used are 4 x 256MB XMS3500, 2 x 256Mb KHX3200 as well as 2 x 512MB XMS3500 (all BH5) as well as some generic ram on this mobo.
No matter what i do, I cannot get this mobo to boot up properly. The furthest I have gotten if to WinXP loading & then the $ucker freezes on me.
Trying different combos of CPU/RAM get's me nowhere. All I get is beeps if I try to run Dual Channel.
I have sent the board back for RMA & was told that there's nothing wrong with this board.
What to do now?? I'm at wits end because I expect a mobo capable of running dual channel to do so without any problems...
Maybe I should bring my setup to the shop/distributor & show them in front of their face for them to believe me??
Actually, the shop believes me, just that MSI's "quality" assurance can't seem to reproduce the errors I'm getting...
Maybe they should try to use 2 dimms instead of using 1 dimm & as soon as they get the machine to boot with the 1 dimm, they send it back to me saying that the board is faultless...
    One unhappy MSI customer...

  • K8N Neo2 Problems

    Spec:
    K8N Neo2 (latest bios)
    FX-53
    MSI 6800 Ultra
    1024 3200c2pro ram
    120gig seagate
    dvdrom
    TT 480watt PSU
    NOTHING OVERCLOCKED
I am currently having problems with a system that isn't working to well, everything passes, with flying colours up untill i get to the Video tests (3dmark01/03), it pauses every now and then and then continues as though it didn't just pause. On top of that the nvida drivers come up often saying that there isn't enough power for the vid card so we're underclocking it to protect it.
    Tested:
Cpu passes prime for 48 hours
Memory Passes goldmem and mem86 36 hours
    HDD passes.
The video card, passes fine in another system, no problems with power or pausing in 3dmark 24 hours
I've tried 4 PSUs on it.. 480 thermaltake, 430 antec, 480 top power, its currently got an antec 550watter in it.
    I am stumped.
Anyone got any suggestions in there, i am already on the 2nd motherboard (Damn gigabyte and there ram incompatbilitys.) I am getting realy annoyed and don't want to swap boards again, especialy when this system is a customers and its in a shitty thermaltake case :D
    cheers all
    Armers

Enter the bios and press shif+f2 and then Alt+f3 (if you are using multimedia keyboard make sure the 'f-lock' is enabled) this opens up extra setting in the bios.
Now enter Cell and you will notice NV/ATI....make sure that is disabled, it is on 'auto' by default.
This options allows auto overclock the card and caused similar problems for lots of users of MSI Neo2.
In terms of power failure, are you connect both molex connectors directly from the psu, also the antec+thermaltake psus have low rails on +12V. I would suggest to upgrade to a OCZ 520W or wait for a 600W, i also read very postive reviews on the Ultra-X 500W.

  • K8n Neo2 Plat Sata Raid 0 and IDE drive - Board won't detect IDE

I have my K8n Neo2 Platinum board configured just fine for 2 WD raptor sata drives in raid 0.  However, I need to add more space so I went out and got a Seagate 180gb IDE drive.  I plug it into the primary IDE slot and the board won't detect the new hard drive.  I have 2 DVD-ROM drives working fine in the Secondary IDE slot.  Why won't the K8n detect what is plugged into the primary IDE slot?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Jeff

    Okay...
First, remove both of your DVD Drives and try connecting the new HD to the Secondary IDE Interface as master.  Use 'cable-select'.  If the drive then works, leave everything set to cable-select, and try installing the HD as master, and one DVD drive as slave, on the primary channel.   Next, set the other DVD drive to cable select, and install it on the secondary interface as a slave.
If the drive is still not detected after removing both DVD Drives, then try installing the DVD Drives onto the primary interface.  If they work, then you've most likely got a bad HDD.  If they don't...  your mainboard may be bad.

  • MSI K8N Neo2 problems

This is all so wierd for me. Recently I have had the wierdest problems with my system and K8. I had a system failure and had to format and install everything. After I formatted, I had a number of problems getting my stuff installed again and getting the whole system in general order. One of my problems that I have is that I cannot install the nvidia GART driver in the nforce driver package, without rendering my system unbootable. This is really strange, and that didn't happen before the system failure. Also, on the nvidia video card main menu my system bus is listed as PCIx0 instead of AGP 8x. Is that related at all to the fact that I get terrible PC lag when playing WoW, or not? What gives?
    Thanks.

Yeah, I can either have the GART driver or the display driver installed seperately, but when both installed I cannot get into windows. Does anybody else have this problem?
Could the fact that I have Norton Internet Securities fully on have anything to do with it? Perhaps it's blocking some files being installed which leads to me not being able to boot up? It's probably not, but I am desperate to fix this problem. Please help me.
    Edit:
I have been thinking about it some. Maybe I should just reformat and see if that fixes the problem. What does everybody else think?

  • K8N Neo2 problem? or Hdd problem? please help me verify

after setting up my board, i quickly flashed it to 1.3 via dos....yup...no liveupdate :D xp installed smoothly without problem, couple days later...maybe it was just the next day...cant really remember. something started to happen:
    1) from a cold boot, i'd get stuck on windows loading screen(where the bar moves), or stuck right after the loading screen...hence black screen. Sometimes it could get into windows.....but stuff wont load properly.
    2) sometimes clearing CMOS would work, but thats not something i want to do often. need to solution.
    3) sometimes it just wont go into windows at all, it just kept on auto reboot when it tries to enter windows
    4) when I try to reformat it; while doing fdisk, worse things happen......i delted everysingle partition and drives, and when it comes to testing drive integrity,,,,it got stuck....after a reboot, all the drives are back. and in order to get it to work properly....i'd have to clear cmos again.
    5) sometimes while reinstalling windows, some files could not be copied.....but the disc was perfectly fine as i just formatted my intel rig a few days ago. booting a couple of times and formatting a couple more times + clearing cmos a tons of times could solve it temporarily.
    6) yesterday, afer the dos section of xp installation was completed, i shut down my rig coz i really had to sleep. so today, i woke up and try to continue the windows portion.....gosh it didnt work, it says "fail to open ***some file****" while typing this, im reformatting my drive again.
    7) ive also used WD's utility to diagnostic the hdd, passed all the tests
    My Spec is as following:
    3200+
    k8n neo2p
2 X 512 ocl 3200EL plat (used only 1 peice on dimm#1 while performing things stated above)
    sapphire9800pro
    antec neo power 480
    160 WD IDE
I am certain that its not the ram, not the psu, not the vga as all had been tested on my intel rig before used. only thing that i could think of is either the hdd is screwed, or the board's defective. I also reflashed the bios to make sure my first bios flashing session wasnt faulty. please help me to troubleshoot this man....thanks in advance
i thought it might be nvidia's ide driver problem, but bear in mind that the fdsik problem happens before the driver is even loaded.

ive always seperated the hdd's cable from otehr drive's cable.
funny thing about wd's hdd is, if I had the jumper on...even master....i couldnt even enter the bios. it would just stuck at POST screen. so i never had the jumper on.
unfortunately, nobody in my province is carrying MSI's board....thanks to its "good" reputation in explodidng and melting down lol, so im on my own with this board.
the hdd used on neo 2 was actually a retail wd hdd, bought not exceeding 2 months....before i got the 3200+ s939 it was used as my backup drive in my intel rig. it worked fine.
ive just reinstalled windows into the hdd with my intel rig, currently the hdd has nothing, no drivers whatsoever, nada :D im leaving it that way for a day or so. if it doesnt boot up, im gonna try it on my intel board. if it boots up on my intel....there must be something wrong with the neo2...
is there any other more stable bios aside of the official 1.3? and would it actually void the warranty if I used modded bios? something im not so certain about :(

  • Problems running Software Update and Disk Utility

I had automatic updating turned on in the Software Updates control panel, so I believe the system tried to apply the 10.4.6 automatically and somehow failed.
Ever since, when I try to run Software Update it hangs while trying to connect to the internet to get the list of available updates. I tried downloading the installer directly from Apple, but when I try to select a volume on which to install the update, it doesn't list my hard drive.
Finally, when trying to run the Disk Utility, I get an error about how the Disk Utility cannot be started because a background process is not running. I have to Force Quit to exit out of the Utility.
I was able to boot off the Mac OS X 10.4 installation DVD at which point I repaired the permissions and repaired the disk. However, upon restart the same problems remain.
I've seen several other people post about this issue; has anyone found a resolution OTHER than doing an Archive and Install (which I don't want to do if I don't have to?)
Thanks so much for help that anyone can provide!
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Create a new admin account with Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Accounts and see if the issue duplicates itself logging into that account. That will say if the issue systemwide, or just localized to the a bad user cache file. If the issue persists in the new user, you can try looking in the System -> Library and Library -> Cache, Applications Support, and ByHost folders for cache files relating to Software Update and Disk Utility. Once you find them, carefully extract them to comparable folders on your desktop you create (i.e. name one systemlibrarycache) so you know where you go them from, and restart your Mac. If the issues go away after two restarts then it is just one set of bad cache files. If the issues return after two restarts, you have something generating bad cache files which needs a more system wide repair tool.

  • Having a problem running jheadstart app and adf-faces-demo on wls 8.1 sp4

I have created a very simple jheadstart app in Jdeveloper. Also I have created a project from the adf-faces-demo.
I am now trying to run both applications on weblogic 8.1 sp4
Both applications exhibit the same behavior. When trying to load the index page, the progress bar on the browser indicates that the page is loading (and stays there) and I don't see any error in the output log (except for the message:
    Oct 31, 2006 5:46:22 PM oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.application.ViewHandlerImpl _checkTimestamp
INFO: ADF Faces is running with time-stamp checking enabled. This should not be used in a production environment. See the oracle.adf.view.faces.CHECK_FILE_MODIFICATION property in WEB-INF/web.xml
    Which I understand is harmless.
I have done the following to try to make this work:
Make sure that the application is compiled in JDK 1.4
Add the recommend jlib, lib, and MyFaces jars to the classpath.
Change the extension of the index page to jsp and change the web.xml to:
    <filter-mapping>
    <filter-name>demoRedirect</filter-name>
    <url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
    </filter-mapping>
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Alberto,
I noticed you reported this on the JDev forum as well. Deploying ADF-Jhs apps is not different from deploying a plain ADF app, (apart from the Jhs Runtime lib that should be added to the .ear file), so please continue to use the JDev forum to resolve your problems.
You also might want to check the section on WebLogic deployment in the ADF Dev Guide:

  • Sound card(s) on MSI K8N NEO2 Problems

    Hello,
I recently purchased a complete new computer.
    3500+ AMD
    K8N Neo 2
    6800 LE
    512 MB Dual channel OCZ
    480Watt Enermax
    Zalman coolers
    Windows XP
Now i have installed reinstalled old and new drivers of the ACL sound card but it results in stuttering sound always.
I have installed a LIVE 5.1 soundblaster New and old drivers and disabled the realtek in the bios.
Nothing seems to work i have reinstalled the xp OS 5 times now and i am fed up with it.
I have tried XP SP1 XP SP2 all without result.
I have default values on the bios. Because i simply do not like to tamper with it.
I have tried to switching the sata cable from port 1 to 3 but also no result!!!
Please help before i throw the mobo out of the window and never buy MSI stuff again.

What pci slot are you using on the mobo for the sound card? dont use the very bottom one (red one or whatever colour it is, i think its meant for things like wireless network card to supply constant power to it). But if you are actually using the white pci slots instead and getting these problems then i have nooo idea, otherwise just try the white slots and mix it up and try every one..
Yes i only have used white ones. They all give the same problem.
