K8T Neo - Core Center alarm going off, nothing out of spec?

I've been running my A64 machine on my K8T Neo board for about 9 months now, with no problems at all.  I've been running Core Center all along, to get Cool 'n Quiet underclocking.  Until today, it's worked flawlessly.
Tonight, when I booted my machine up (Windows XP SP1), the interface popped up from the minimized icon, and the alarm started going off.  From what I can tell, if the dashboard sees something out of spec, it's supposed to flag it in red.  When I look at all of the reported values, they look the same as they've always looked.
I went to the MSI site and downloaded/installed v. 2.0.0.4, to see if it was a software problem.  Same thing is happening.  Here are the values being reported (again, they seem to be the same as always).
Vcore: 1.10
3.3v: 3.30
+5V: 5.00
12V: 12.08 (varies by a coulple hundreths)
CPU Temp: 34c
SYS Temp: 38c
CPU Fan: 1700rpm
NB Fan: N/A
Current freqency (A64 3000+): 204Mhz x 5.0 -- 1020 Mhz (idling)
I'm hesitant to just silence the alarm, in case there's something seriously wrong.  Multiple reboots haven't changed anything.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Good to know that it's not a unique situation.  I really want to keep using Cool n' Quiet for the automatic underclocking to reduce the heat (at 100% load, my quiet fan doesn't cool all that well -- within range, but still high), without having to manually step the system back up every time a processor load hits.
See any problems with running Core Center with the alarm turned off, then Speedfan to actually monitor the system?  Or is there any way to get Cool n' Quiet without Core Center?
Interestingly enough we have the same CPU, and your 1.1V vcore is exactly what I get at 1000Mhz. You get "cool" (cpu Mhz throttling) by virtue of the AMD processor driver and "Minimal Power management" setting in Control Panel, Power Options. If you shut down corecenter and watch your system, if you see what I see on my system, the CPU will stay at 1000Mhz but the fan will not be controlled. Enter - speedfan for fan control. It does a real nice job, with no alarms.

  • K8T Neo - Core Center does not support your motherboard!

I installed the latest version of Core Center utility on Windows XP x64.  But if I attempt to run it "Core Center does not support your motherboard!" is displayed.  The download website clearly states that Windows XP x64 is supported.  The message does not mention Windows XP x64 but the problem appears to have something to do with it because there is no problem on Windows XP x86.
    Any suggestion is appreciated.

I tried the one from the link in your post but no dice, or "Core Center does not support . . . "
I tried NextSensor. It seemd to be a stand-alone software and did not require installation. The result was that it did not have any effect on the fan speed. The Status indicated that Temperature of Processor and CPUCoreA were 118 and 35 degree C respectively, and that Fan Speed of CPUFan and SFan were 1250rpm respectively. These appeared incorrect. I could not get any instructions how to set it up so maybe I was not using it correctly.

  • Error on K8t neo Core center

    Hi all:
everytime i run corecenter i get this message:
    Failed to load overclocking driver
    does anyone know why?

    Hello Jocko.
I use the limited user rights unless I'm installing something or performing an Admin function.
I do this because I've read quite a few articles that say it leaves you more vulnerable to remote installation of malicous programs, Trojans, etc if you surf the web while logged on with full Admin privelages.  I have also read that attacker could even go so far as to open a hidden account with administrator privelages on your machine.

  • Alarm going off in core center

I have an alarm going off in core center Theres a red arrow next to wherer it says 12 v. then in the white box it says 10.95 v  any one know what it means and what I could do about it I don't know whats normal for the readings I get in core center. My pc has been locking up and certian games wont load unless it's really cool in the room.

Good questions! Some folks have acceptable readings with CoreCenter, by verifying them with the Hardware Monitor (in BIOS). I compared them with my SpeedFan program, and as far as temps go..I use a laser temp gun to check CPU, case, and video card temps. Voltages on the PSU can be verified with a voltmeter of course. The specifications on your NB fan should be in your manual. Or you can check out this thread at Anandtech:

  • Is there a way to stop the brightness from going up when alarm goes off?

I have an iPhone 5s running iOS 7.0.6. I plug it in at night next to my bed and use it as an alarm clock. I am running the NiceClock app because it has a great black background with slim red clock numbers (doesn't throw a lot of glare). I am using the built-in Clock app that comes with the current iOS as the alarm (NiceClock, while great for a simple bedside clock with no glare, does not come with an alarm). I set my iPhone's brightness on the lowest possible setting to keep the backlight glare down. It's great. Low glare, and I can still see the time if I wake up in the middle of the night without having to fumble with the iPhone. My problem is when the alarm goes off the brightness level jumps up to maximum. Is there a way to prevent the brightness level of the iPhone from changing when the alarm goes off?

Yes the calendar is gone. I guess it is the notification center I am referring to that comes down when I accidently swipe the top of the screen. Is there a way to stop of notification center from coming down if you swipe the screen? I figured out how to stop the control center from coming up if you swipe the bottom on the screen. Now I just need to figure out how to stop the top of the screen from doing the same thing

  • 'Get info' does not open after alarm goes off

Using iCal, before an alarm goes off, I'm able to 'get info'/'edit' the event, but after an alarm goes off, I'm unable to edit the event unless I quit and reopen the app. Any ideas why and how to resolve?

I posted this over a week ago. Does anyone have an idea how to rectify this. I can't be the only one having this problem!

    defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing 0

  • Get a Boolean When a DSC Alarm Goes Off

    Hello LabVIEWers!
I've got probably 30 shared variables that I'm monitoring and logging using the DSC module.  I'm starting to use the alarms functionality and what I'd like to be able to do is run some code that sends my team a text / email when an alarm goes off.
It seems to me the easiest way to do this would be to somehow monitor the alarms and produce a T/F value that I can use to run a case structure.  For whatever reason I'm not seeing how to do this easily.  Is there a VI I'm missing?  I just want to be able to produce a True value when the variable is in alaram and a False value when it's not.
    Thanks for the help!

  • My iPhone 4 takes pictures when phone rings and alarm goes off.

My camera flash goes off when I receive an incoming call and when my alarm goes off.

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
Have you tried ALL the troubleshooting steps?  If you have and you're still having problems, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation and possible exchange.

  • Nano crashes (reboots) when alarm goes off

When the alarm goes off on my Ipod it just reboots and shows the Apple logo.
I have the language set to Swedish but when I set the language to English the alarm works without any problems, so my guess is that it's something with the firmware.
    So here is my questions:
    Is anyone experiencing similar problems?
Is it possible to reinstall the latest firmware, just to make sure it's installed correctly?
Can anyone test to set the language to Swedish and see if it happens for you too?
    I have a Nano 3g with v.1.1 PC version.

Ok, then I guess it's a well known bug (at least in Sweden) now when we at least have three iPods with the same problems. So I guess we just have to wait for a firmware that fixes this issue.
I reported it as a bug to Apple (if they care), so let's hope they can fix it until the next update.
Thanks for your answer and if anyone else is having this problem maybe they can let us know in this thread. It would also be interesting if someone that has the language set to Swedish still can use the alarm (reminders) without it crashing.

  • Alarm going off again, one hour afterwards

I have an alarm set for each weekday morning at around 6:15am... and this has always gone off without any issues, but I have this strange bug.
An hour or more later, the alarm goes off again. Just this morning, my alarm went off again at around 7:50am. I hit snooze a couple times until ~6:30, like I do every morning, and then I closed the alarm this morning (didn't snooze) and it sucesfully silenced the alarm... until 7:50am.
I do not have any other alarms. I've had this issue before, although it's inconsistant and sporatic (sometimes going off 20-30 minutes afterwards, sometimes closer to 8am again), so I deleted my alarm and recreated it last week. It was perfectly fine up until today. Very confusing.

I had the same problem ever since we switched back to winter time. I had the iphone (3GS) set to automatically set the time. Now I switched off the automatic set up and I chose the correct time zone and everything is working again.

I have no NB fan nor NB reading.  So this is the CPU fan RPM alarm going off when my CPU fan is anywhere above 5200 RPM's (or just randomly quite frankly).  It is almost always at 5113 . . . always has been with or w/o CoreCenter.  Right now the CPU fan speed slider is set to 2000 and it ain't going off, but intermitently of course.  So if I slide it up to 8000 the same thing.  It's like the slider has no effect. I am thinking about disabling the sound warning.  Problem is then when it "goes off" it can interrupt a game!
we'll see.  no version has ever worked for me.

  • Core Center Alarm

I have a MSI 875P Neo Motherboard with a intel 3.0Gig chip and when I start up the system I get an alarm in core center....on the left side it says
    1.49v
    Vcore
    4.08 flashing in red
    3.3v
    5.08v
    +5v
    11.52v
    +12v
and in the Center it says 201mhz x 15.0
             3015Mhz
anyone no why the alarm is going off?
    Thanks Halfdawg

Obviously, I don't think that your PSU is even a true 480watts PSU where you've got such low amps on every rails that is only comparable to a 330watts PSU...
Get something like Antec 480watts or Enermax 465watts PSU and you'll see no reds in Corecenter anymore. If you are thinking that Antecs and Enermaxs are too expensive for you, maybe you would consider a middle range pricing PSU which fits almost the category of a 430watts output minimum with +3.3 @ 24A~26A, +5v @ 30A~40A and most importantly +12v @ 18A~22A. Anything above the recommended specs would definately be better.
