K8T Neo2 BIOS flash stops TV card from working

I've just flashed the BIOS on my K8T Neo2 (6702E) from 3.2 to 9.3 and swapped the processor fron a 3200+ Winchester to a 4200+ X2. This all went fine and on boot up Windows detected the new chip and installed the multicore HAL. The computer also redetcted all the other hardware such as graphics sound card ect without problem. However I also have a Nebula Electronics PCI Digiatal TV card. When this reinstalled its drivers the computer crashed and rebooted. All subsequent attempt to reinstall this card result in the same behaviour. I've tried differnt PCI slot and even a complete fresh reinstall of windows but no change, the moment the drivers finish installing it crash's. Nebula's support told me that there is a recognised incompatibility between there PCI card and the K8T Neo2 in fact they say "the MSI KT8 Neo series will not allow the installation of any Fusion based 878a-based drivers (as used by our DigiTV PCI card). As such, we regret that you cannot use our card with this motherboard". However I used the card and board together for over a year using the 3.2 BIOS and Winchester. Nebula now say that they have had lots of customers with the same problem installing there PCI card into this board and think my evidence may suggest that the BIOS is the problem. They have asked If I would swap back to an earlier BIOS to see if it starts working again. However I'm a bit reluctant to start messing about Randomly with different BIOS version as the possiblity of a complete disaster will go up. Anybody any idea why a BIOS change should stop a device working, or any any experience of which BIOS might work??

Now we also suggest you flash BIOS to the old version 9.1 to verify, since BIOS 9.1 can support dual core processor. If you don't want to flash BIOS under DOS, it is easy to use another tool to flash BIOS under windows. Please download the tool from the following link:

I'll have to have a think about this, although I guess it might fix a few other problems that I have. I assume the windows tool they are referring to is the "live update" If so I thought the general consensus was to avoid using it?

PC Suite stops Microsoft Fax from working

I have just downloaded and installed the latest version of PC Suite.
Each time I install the recent versions of PC Suite it stops Microsoft fax from working.
I am running windows XP SP2
I have a Nokia 5310
The error message is:
The fax server information cannot be retrieved
The fax wizard will now close.
I can use an earlier version of PC Suite but then my phone is not fully supported.
Any ideas?

Thanks for your response Miksu. You have pointed me to the right place. It is the connection manager that fails to recognise the BT stack that causes my problems. This is always resolved by a repair. It seems that the order of initiation is very important which may be why Luist has started to have the problem.
In my experience, once things stop to work, I've had to strip out any subsequent installs.
My PCSuite also stopped working after it installed cable connection manager (or something like that) without me asking. I found it in Control Panel->Add/Remove programs. I removed it and PC Suite started to work again, so I completely removed PC Suite then re-installed, and allowed it to add the relevant devices relating to my phone (about 4 devices alltogether) but alas this did not solve my "return from standby" issue. I think I need to remove PC Suite and then Bluetooth, and maybe something else before re-installing - I'll leave that for a rainy day.

Getting a message, "A problem has stopped PS Elements from working correctly."

I just installed PSE11 on my new Windows 8 computer. (I had previously run it on my old computer with Windows 7). The icon flickers when I open PSE11 and then I get a message, "A problem has stopped Photoshop Elements from working correctly. Windows will notify you if there is a solution to the problem." I never get a notification about a solution. Any ideas?

K8T NEO2 BIOS 9.4 CPU support question

hi i whas wondering if i upgraded to the newest bios version 9.4 if it would still support my athlon 64 3000+ winchester core?.i need to flash to a newer bios in a attempt to fix the dual channel support on the mb.i currently have bios 3.30.could i also switch to a older version for the dual channel to work?.

hi glitch; i had the same dual channel problem...i also have the same board (the k8t neo2) and it is a winchester. you are not supposed to flash to bios 9.4 with a winchester. make 100% sure that you actually do have version 3.3 bios...because that is what fixed the dual channel problem for me. I thought I had bios 3.3 because that's what my startup screen said...but the 3.3 was actually something completely different...wasn't even the bios version. It took me forever to realize I actually had version 3.0. Once I updated to version 3.3 the dual channel worked great!

'Bad' would be a subjective statement in this case. If you do have an early batch Winchester, it overclocks less than the later batches. But it still gives you a lot more than you paid for.
P.S.
Following your link, I noticed your Vcore is a bit low at 200 MHz. When overclocking, you should raise it some to get above 225 MHz and be stable. At 230, something like 1.49v should do the trick. Also, what kind of power supply do you use?

The latest update of Mail over the weekend has stopped my Mail from Working

The Latest update of mail has stopped my Mail from launching.
It comes up to tell me that it needs to import my Mail and then says - An error occurred during the import. Make sure you have enough available space in your home folder and try again.
I have plenty of space more than 150gig.
I have also tried deleting the com.apple.mail.plist and the Mail folder to get a new instalation but it still says the same thing!
Can anyone help please?

What update of Mail? Do you mean the 10.7.2 System update? And if so did you download and install the Combo Update?

EmployeeDetailsVO extension stops Show/Hide from working on EmployeeViewsPG

Hi,
I am on 12.0.6. I have just extended EmployeeDetailsVO to add an extra criteria to the where clause to stop records older than the 1-SEP-2008 from being displayed. It worked successfully and the rows returned on the page EmployeeViewsPG (Nav: Employee Self Service -> Employment Information) reflect the change.
However the Show/Hide button has stopped working. When I click show it does nothing.
I'm not sure why extending the VO would stop this from working. Any suggestions?

Hi,
If the sededVO has rowImpl and your adding new columns in the VO query then you need to generate VORowImpl java.
However, You need to restrict to the view query by date '1-SEP-2008'
Then there is no need to extend the VO, extend the controller of the page EmployeeViewsPG.
Intiate the VO by OAViewObject vo = am.findViewObject ("FFFFF");
and then add the where clause.
e.g.
OAViewObject vo = am.findViewObject ("FFFFF");
If (vo != null)
vo.setwherclause(null);
vo.setwhereclause(" Date = '1-SEP-2008'");
vo.executeQuery();

After BIOS flash, case buttons no longer work 790FX-GD70

Hello,
I was getting a Hypersink flood error and with much research found that a flash of the bios is a fix for this.
I have flashed the BIOS plenty of times on other motherboards. BIOS flash went smoothly (I used this forums bootloader). Ever since flashing of the BIOS, I can't turn on the computer unless it is through the power button on the motherboard itself. I have tested the switch independently and they work fine. Post is fine, runs windows fine, time and date are correct, etc...
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
Equipment:
Motherboard: MSI 790FX-GD70 c3
Chip: AMD Phenom II x4 955
BIOS software: Latest version

After an update of BIOS, pull power cable out and clear CMOS.
However, I am not sure the BIOS update and a non-working power-button are related. What case have you got?
Please say if your system uses a PSU, and if so name and model.

HT203085 Warning to Mac Yosemite re Webroot security program. It stops Mac Dictation from working!

It took Mac phone two days, four sessions, and three hours of wasted time to figure out that Webroot security program what's stopping my dictation program from working. Only after it was disabled and removed from my Mac did the dictation program works again. All Apple user should be aware of this problem with Webroot.

Wasting your time is all such programs are capable of accomplishing. Some will also waste your money.

Neo2 Bios flash from 1.3 to ???? (1.8)

Hi all. I finally have some time now to play with BIOS on my Neo2. I currently have 1.3 official... and just did a quick search I saw we got Bios 1.7 and 1.8 already.
After did a quick reading on other posts... I see people mostly have Bios 1.5 and some goin to 1.8 but not sure if this 1.8 was good
My main concern is to get rid of the Warm/Cold boot different temps... and have some good bios that doesnt stop me from OC-ing...
So what you guys think is the best 1 for now? 1.5? 1.8? other?

The cold/warm boot temp reporting issue seems to be fixed though... Unfortunately, mine are always higher now no matter what.
Had no effect on my OC - It's still stable.

Neo2 bios flash to 1.9 = dead nvidia lan

I've flashed my K8N Neo2 Nforce3 Platinum with the latest 1.9 bios and now my nvidia lan is dead. It is failing to find an ip address. The Realtek lan is working fine. I've tried flashing back to 1.5 which was working before but the nvidia lan is still dead. Please can anyone help me on this issue.

Bios flash on msi 6119 from AMI to AWARD !!

Bios ; AmiBios ver1.9
CPU ; Pentium 2,400mhz
All the above were included when I bought the PC which is a Packard Bell Platinum 2020.
I want to upgrade my processor and was thinking of using a Powerleap PL-iP3/T ,Tualatin 1.4ghz, processor upgrade. I believe I may need to upgrade my bios to accomodate this new processor, but because I have the latest AMI ver 1.9 update (and there is no further versions) I am thinking of upgrading my bios to the AWARD VER 2.9 BIOS.
Has anyone used the motherboard/processor and bios upgrade partnership before ??.
Would my bios upgrade from AMI to AWARD be a possability on my Packard bell PC ???.
Any help would be greatfully accepted.

Apparently Packard bell named my MoBo a 'TACOMA', and it seems that the latest (and no more to be) AMI bios upgrade is version 1.9. This is the version I have just recently flashed upto and my system appeared to behave just fine, so I installed the earlier mentioned processor upgrade and now windows boots very, very sloooowly. Also trying to work in any opened program gives the same slow response.
This is the reason for my original post about flashing from AMI to AWARD bios because the versions available are a lot more recent.
What exactly are the differences between an OEM and a retail MSI 6119 motherboard. Wouldn't they just be the same, with Packard Bell buying a cart load of them, changing the Mobo name to there own and shoving in a cheap bios chip. What damage could I do 'IF' things went wrong ????. If I have a saved version 1.9 (the original) on floppy wouldn't I just be able to re-flash that and be back at square one.
It would appear that one or two have tried this flash route as per this link http://pb.infopop.net/2/OpenTopic?q=Y&a=tpc&s=657099322&f=194096607&m=3833075903 but being aware of the damage a bad flash can do was hoping for a bit more independant advise from you or those who may have similar to my set up and have achieved what I am trying to do.

Globetrotter card stops Airport card from singing 'Sweet Georgia Brown'...

Whenever I insert my ATT Globetrotter HSDPA card into the expresscard slot it works great with the internal drivers in 10.5.2 but I lose my Airport connectivity until I reboot. Does anyone know the process that controls the Airport connection? Is it possible to use the Activity Monitor to quit and restart it so I won't have to reboot?
Or better - does anyone know why the card kills the Airport?
Specs: Macbook Pro 2GHz Core Duo - 2 GB Ram.... ATT card is Globetrotter HSDPA card 1.0.7 HW version 1 - Modem Software 1.12.1Hd

I have the same problem. When I connect my FW/USB ExpressCard/34 from Sonnet
I lose the Airport connectivity, and no way to switch it on again until I reboot Even if Airport is on and I try to disconnnect the expresscard, Airport is killed again. Did you find a solution?

New Bios has stopped my CQ61 from charing !

I recently switched to windows 7. Every thing was working fine till this morning when i installed drivers i had downloaded yesterday. I'm sure the bios driver started the problem because after installing it, i noticed upon restart that the screen lights where dimmed (it had switched to battery mode). Anyway i assumed it was just a glitch, as these things happen. About 2 hours later, i get a "battery at 7%" warning, then i realize that it had not been charging the whole time.
I noticed while trying to troubleshoot, that on unplugging and then re-plugging the charger, the battery starts to charge- but this only lasts for about 10 seconds.
Here's the bios i installed if it'l help: sp46655. I THINK the previous one was a version 1.7 (i cant remember).
My HPs full model is: CQ61-210EI

It sounds most likely that there's a problem with the AC Adapter (power connection).
Sometimes electrical components needs to have all power sources removed and reintroduced to work properly. Try performing a hard reset first, if it doesn't work then we'll move to the next step.
To Perform A Hard Reset
Shut down the computer by going to the Start menu and selecting shut down. (If you have no display, hold the power button down for 5 seconds)
Disconnect the AC Adapter from the notebook.
Remove the battery from the bottom of the notebook. There will be a switch/button to eject the battery.
Wait at least 1 minute with all power sources disconnected.
Re-insert the battery and reconnect the AC Adapter and then attempt to power on the notebook.

Shockwave player v12 on mac has stopped Director player from working. Why?

Hello. I'm a very longstanding Adobe user, but a complete newcomer to the forum.
My problem? We have a suite of e-learning courses which are built in Flash, but which use a Director player (11.5) to launch them from CD-Rom. The new release of shockwave player (version 12) has stopped our courses working on a mac. We tried rebuilding the player file with Director 12, but this didn't resolve the problem. Can anyone help? We are in the same case. Since 1999, we have also built an e-learning suite on CD with Director 5 to 11.5 for Mac and Windows. And now, we have some problems with Shockwave 12 on OSx 10.7.
On Windows 8, there was already an error with shokwave: " L'ordinal 1265 est introuvable dans la bibliothèque de liaisons dynamique IML32.dll "
. It was enough to delete two files: « IML32.DLL » et « DIRAPI.DLL ». See on Adobe site :
