K9A2 CF Raid Controller Drivers

I realize the following image is corny, but, I am receiving a message regarding an issue with txtsetup.oem causing an issue with Server 2003 Standard (Not R2). This is a 'whitebox' server 2003 installation.
The machine is running two SATA drives, EIDE DVD-ROM, Phenom 9600 2.30 GHz Quad Core AM2+, with 4096 RAM (4Gb) - it is currently running Server 2003 with SP2, however, it needs to be wiped for it's next bench testing.
RAID driver shows up in Device Mangler/Manager (whatever floats your boat) as ATI 1X2 Mirror/RAID SCSI Disk Device (Showing 249.00 Gb space). It is also showing as drive 0, so that confirms the RAID is working.
Thanks,
Brandon

Hello!
What hard disks are they? (also say PSU name and model, and memory kind and speed, please).
Check the marking on the motherboard, so we are sure it is a V 2 of this motherboard.
Here are the available drivers, could be Server 2003 has a problem:

I use a Rocketraid 2314 from Highpoint for my external 8TB raid. In all previous updates, the drivers were installed automatically. That is no longer the case for some reason, as the OS recognizes the card but does not load any drivers. Highpoint's support site is... ummm... lacking. Anybody else found a solution for something like this?

I have Highpoint RocketRAID 2314LF - my 6TB RAID simply vanished when rebooting into updated 10.10 OS-X. Yosemite reports that there are no drivers installed for 'SCSI Bus Controller' - and Highpoint's website says that OS-X will natively support the card. A somewhat less than ideal situation.

  • Promise 20376 SATA Raid Controller Drivers?

Hi I'm trying to install WinXP with an K7N2GM2 - ILSR board and I'm having problems with the SATA drivers I've downloaded (from http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driver/dvr/spt_dvr_list.php?part=1&kind=4&CHIP=4&COM=19). The 'make disk' instructions included is a bit awkward but I tried putting the different files on a floppy several different ways, but to no avail. When windows asks for a floppy to install the sata drivers, it reads the disk for a while and returns back to the 'insert a disk and hit ENTER.' I went to Promise's website and download some drivers from there but again to no avail, the drivers included on the CD with the mb have not worked either.
Just to make sure I'm simply not putting the correct files on floppy or not putting them in the proper directory structure, I'll give you an example of what I have put on the floppy:
    WinXP <-Folder containing drivers
    txtsetup.oem
    ULSATA
    fasttx2k
and the text files like 'makedisk'
I've also taken all of the files out of the WinXP directory and had all files in the same location A:\ . I'm not sure what to do at this point, I'm adept with computers and I know that sata can be finiky, but this one going nowhere fast. Could somebody help? BTW I'm only using one HD, a WD 80GB Sata HD which I had to put in an array ('functioning').

  • Oracle Ent. Linux  drivers for HP Smart Array B110i Sata Raid Controller

Trying to install Oracle Ent. Linux (OEL) release 4 update 8 on HP DL 180 G6 server. Where we can find OEL drivers for the sata raid controller ?
(HP Smart Array B110i Sata Raid Controller)
    Thanks in advance.

The HP support side shows a Linux certification matrix at: http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/servers/linux/hplinuxcert.html
From there you can also download the necessary drivers and instructions or use HP smartstart CD which prepares the system for the OS you need to install. Oracle Enterprise Linux is binary compatible with RHEL. You will need to click on "Archive" to see support for Enterprise Linux version 4 and older.

  • Hard drive configuration with Promise Raid controller

I plan on running two 30 gig 75GXP drives on the Promise controller in Raid-0 mode.  I also have a 60 gig WD drive that I use for backups and for initial installation.  During installation, I put the Win98SE setup files and all the drivers, apps, backup data, etc. on the WD drive and do a clean install from there.
My current (old) board is an Abit KT7-R with the Highpoint raid controller.  Using the Highpoint controller, I am able to put the WD drive as a slave device and the controller treats it as a normal IDE drive.  I'm moving to the 845 Ultra ARU.  From what I've read, if you put a single drive on the Promise controller, it tries to set it up as a Raid drive?  I don't want to risk losing my backup data on the WD drive to some attempt by the Promise controller to "raid" my single drive.  So, where is the best place to put my WD drive so that I can install my system from it?  I'm thinking about putting it as Master on IDE2.  I normally run my CD as Master on IDE1.  Once the installation is complete, I will remove the installation files from the WD drive and use it exclusively for backups.  I have the WD drive in a Vantec EZ-Swap rack, and I normally keep it powered off unless doing a backup.
So, the plan is to create the Raid-0 array, Fdisk and format the array, and then load Windows from the WD drive, followed by all my applications.  Is Master on IDE-2 the best solution for the WD drive?

    hi
not very clued up on raid but it sounds right
if the wd drive is on its own on that ide do not jumper
as master you have to have no jumpers if all alone

  • Solaris 10 on an HP DL180 G6 server with P410 Raid Controller.

This is an informational post to try and save people some of the pain that my colleague Joe and I have just gone through to get Solaris 10 installed!
The DL180 G6 is an interesting box. It uses the latest Nehalem processors, and can support up to 12 x 3.5" old school high density 15k RPM drives. This is pretty unique in the industry. However, here is what you need to know -
    - The P410 raid controller must have memory if you want to present all 12 drives down as JBOD to solaris to be managed via ZFS. i.e. order the P410/256. If you order the P410/ZM you will only be able to create a maximum of 2 arrays which will be seen as disks by Solaris.
    - The P410 requires a driver that doesn't exist on the DL180 G6 driver page at HP. If you look under the DL585 G6 page you will find the solaris driver you need. [HP DL585 G6 storage driver page|http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=3949980&prodNameId=3949981&swEnvOID=2023&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-f490e7c0f736457c92229f7e8c]
    - The network card is a NC362i. This is intel based and referenced by this Solaris patch - [patch ID = 138175-02|http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-21-138175-02-1]. The latest solaris 10 release (u7) doesnt contain the drivers for this card. You will have to add this patch separately. When added and recofigure rebooted etc etc, the device can be plumbed as igb0.
    Hopefully this helps someone out!

  • Raid controller disappears from BIOS

    Hi,
I got a strange problem: everytime I pull out the power cord from the computer-the Raid controller disappers from Bios and of course the comp. cant find the HDD`s.
After some time I found out how to get it work again,
I have to pull out the IDE cable and power cable from the HDD and put it back again. Then the Fast Track Controller comes up again in BIOS.
Any one has an idea what that could be?
I use The Promise Fast Trak 100 Raid driver.
    Thanks for reply.

    Hi Bas,
Thanks for reply, I use 2x IBM 60GXP, 60GB HDD.
    My drivers are from MSI.
Every thing worked fine almost 1 year, I did not change anything.

  • Promise RAID controller & WinXP - 845 ultra

I finally got around to connected a couple of drives to the Promise Fasttrack 133 RAID controller.
When I go into windows.. It finds the controller..
So if I look in Device Manager, I do see the Promise MBFasttrak 133 Lite..
But under DISK DRIVES, the Promise 2+0 stripe /raid0 scsi device shows up as an unknown, and if I try to update the drivers.. nothing ever changes..
The drive(s) does work, more of a comsmetic issue?
     Thank you,

Some of the suggestions I don't understand quite well. Please could you explain further:
    > remove the other two drives leaving the raid pair
    > and cd only
    >
    > put raid 2nd in boot order
What do you mean with that?
    > reboot press the key you need to get in to raid bios
    > create the array and make it bootable
array is already created (Note: there is important data on it, can't recreate it! Only Segate 80GB is free and empty)
I don't want to boot from raid.
    >
    > now boot to cd to install, right at beginning it will say
    > press f6 to install mass storage drive you need the
    > driver on floppy to install it
I already tried the XP-Install routine to specify additional mass storage drivers. (Note: 1 single 80GB Drive was attached)  Which are the suitable ones? As mentioned I tried the following:
    1. Attached floppy 'Fasttrack family drivers'
Result: Message: Driver is for Win2k only. Not a single  Harddrive shows for installing XP.
    2. Attached Floppy (Promise Ultra 100 lite, 256 only)
Result: Driver is for Win2k only. Installation procedure hangs.
    3. Driver from MSI-Site for pdc20265. Same as 2.
    4. Extracting via4in1 drivers and putting WinXPIDE drivers on floppy:
Result: Installation routine doesn't recoginze drivers on floppy.

Which is the right driver for WinXP to specify for mass storage device at WinXP installation?

  • K9A2 Platinum Raid problem

Hi i have 4 days trying to install my new system. And the mobo do not want to recognize the drives in sata 5 and 6, those controlled by promise.
    My system specs:
    Phenom 9600
    MSI k9a2 platinum
6 samsung hard drives SATAII 7200 rpm
8gb ram Corsair Dominator 1066 MHZ
    2 x Diamond ati HD3870 512 mb GDDR4
    Thermal take toughpower 850W PSU
    I want to run:
RAID 1+0 With 4 drives of 320GB each using sb600 controller
and two 320 GB single drives, NON RAID on the promise controller.
How can i run this config on my mobo? it is possible? i need detailed bios settings for this please.
    Second alternative config:
    Raid 0 on sb600 using 4 disk
Raid 1 on promise using 2 disks
I have 6 drives in total and want to use them all.
Right now if I enable additional raid config on BIOS my sb600 controller only detect disks on the 1 and 3 ports, but doesnt see the 2 and 4 ports. Also i cant see the 5 and 6 ports anywhere in the bios or in the ctrl-f raid utility.
    My bios version is 1.3
    Any help?

hi, you could use the promise controller for your raid array using the rear esata connectors (with a esata to sata cable) and in side ports 5-6, use the sb600 not in raid for the other drives, like bas was saying each controller has it own bios, so what that means is if promise raid is on (sb600 off) the drives would show up in the promise raid setup and the other way around (drives in the SB600 RAID set up) and also if both raid controllers are off the drives show up in the main board bios. once i did have both controllers run through their setup at the same time but i got "some memory ran out of room" message after post,..
anyway so you should be able to do what you want, but use the promise for raid and sb600 for not, that way only one raid controller is on.

  • MSI845PE Max2: booting from the RAID controller

     Hi,
I have an MSI 845PE Max2 motherboard. This board comes with 2 extra IDE connectors from an onboard RAID controller. I managed to put this controller to work as a regular UDMA133 controller with an modified BIOS.
I have a CD-ROM connected to one of those IDE connectors. The CD-ROM is detected, but I didn't manage to boot from that drive.
I tried to alter the boot sequence on the BIOS. I even disabled the 3 pre-configured steps, leaving the option "Try other devices" enabled, but still wasn't able to boot from the CD-ROM.
So, this is my question: it there any way to get a drive (wether it is a CD-ROM or a hard drive) to boot, when it is connected to the RAID/UDMA133 controller?
     Best regards,
     Norberto Henriques

I Download mod bios and went to flash and the Msi instructions on flashing were insufficent for the job.  For one thing when I got to A prompt after bios.  There was no c drive detected.  Couldn't get to bios in C:test.  Hard drive was connected to Ide 3 where i installed it with the 133 drivers during installation.  I tried connecting it to Ide 1 to see if it would boot.  It did and seemed to work but still couldn't get to c drive from A prompt after bios with C:  .  Tried booting with Me Boot Disk (the one I installed Me with on other systems).  There was no ramdisk loaded.  It just acted like I wanted to install Me.  I gave up on the flash (but still would like to know how??)   Got my maching running with 430watt antec, msi 845pe max2-fir, 40 and 60 gig maxtor 133 drives, pent 4 2.4B ghz. asus Dvdrom and Asus cdrw,512Mb crucial 2700,Radeon 8500LE,Sound Blaster 5.1.   Had only a few problems.  Still trying to figure out some of the Bios settings.  Will post more later if anyone can help.  P.S.  How do you get all your statistics to show up at the end of your post without typing it out each time??   Any help appreciated.  May the force be with you

  • PE 2850 LSI / RAID controller problem

    Dear everyone,
I would like to ask You for a an advice - recently i bought, what it seemed to be a working PowerEdge 2850 server.
Since I've never got into working with Dell servers, I've learned trough YT videos that my server should give me at least Ctrl+M menu in order to access Configuration Utility of RAID controller - but I does not ... Only option I get is Ctrl+E which gives me nothing ... So I skipped the settings and went directly for OS installation.
I tried installing all sorts of OS to it (2003 / 2008 / 2012), but even though I've provided correct drivers on Floppy / USB thumb drive - OS reported there is no space on the destination HDD or it can not be initialized (please see attached image).
I even called the guy I bought it from, and he told me that he updated all the firmwares before he sold the server - and that he also finds strange that there is no regular Ctrl+M shortcut.
He told me that he remembers one firmware update utility with a  blue GUI that asked him something about HDD controller and RAID before updating - but he does not recall which one is it :(
    Please advise.
    Thank You all!

    nexus.so
The thing is ... when i get to BIOS there is no more RAID as an option to pick ... only Disabled or SCSI ... that is the problem unfortunately - even though there is a RAID key clearly marked on the chassis and beneath it a key plugged into the motherboard ....
If RAID is not an option, that means that the RAID components are not present. IF the RAID components (ALL THREE - battery, memory, key) are in the system, then they are not functioning (it may also mean the riser board is not working).
You can install an OS without it, but if you want to try to get RAID working, you can try: power off and unplug, remove RAID battery, remove RAID memory, remove RAID key, remove riser board, insert riser board, insert RAID key, insert RAID memory, insert RAID battery. power on and boot to BIOS to see if you have the option to enable RAID. If not, you will need to replace hardware, starting with the riser board and RAID key.
If you want to try to install in SCSI mode, use this driver:
    http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=KTK5F

  • Found new Raid controller all of a sudden

Alright, my winter break just started from college, so I brought my computer home with me.  I hooked it up and it wouldn't boot.  Somehow a setting in the bios got changed and I had to change it back.  Now when it starts up it says it has found new hardware, it says it has found a new raid controller.  I have the driver installed that came on the msi cd.  I don't know what windows is asking for.  So since I don't know what its asking for, I click cancle.  Then it gives the deal about how the "new" hardware might not work correctly.  The computer has only been turned on for a little while but it runs fine so far.  Any thoughts on what I should do?
    System specs:
    865PE-neo2
    P4 2.8 800fsb
    1GB corsair ram
    2 120 Gig Samsung in raid 0

If your drives are on the Intel controller and working properly as Raid0, it's probably the Promise controller that Windows is seeing and asking for drivers. If you have nothing connected to Serial3&4, IDE3 you can safely disable it like Danny says.
Bios>>Integrated Peripherals>>Onbaord Promise Controller - Set to "disabled"
