Hello, I've recently build a machine with this board and I might be missing something but i've never worked with SATA before. When i bought my harddrives originally they were sata and per plugging them in to the board they weren't being recognized or even working. I've tried western digital and Maxtor on both this board and an ASUS board. In the end i went and traded them for IDE hdds, but i'm wondering is there something in the bios settings that i'm missing????

In "Integrated Peripherals", "On-Chip ATA Devices":
PCI IDE BusMaster = Enabled {Optional, has no relationship with HDD detection. Recommended to be Enabled}
On-Chip SATA Controller = Enabled
RAID mode = IDE

First, don't specify the package path in the argument
declaration. Instead import the event object:
import mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent;
The docs state this emphatically.
Second, try "lastResult", in place of "result":
arData=mx.utils.ArrayUtil.toArray(event.lastResult); // I am
not positive about this. I maybe recall reading that result was ok
for the event object, but maybe not.
Finally, why do you want to convert the xml? You certainly
could, but it would be a manual process, recursively reading the
existing xml nodes and building the new structure, but again, why?
Just use a labelFunction if necessary to display the nodes as
you wish.

Round trip workflow with proxies between Premiere and AE / a more general question about how these programs work?

Hi all,
I'm new to editing with proxies in Premiere and have some questions about how to handle the relationship with After Effects. Say I have a rough cut (with proxies) and I want to send it to AE to do some effects. The simplest thing to do seems to be to replace the proxies with the originals in Premiere, send the project to AE and do my thing. But if I then want to send the project back to Premiere, it will involve the original files, which are too machine-intensive for me to edit. In theory, it seems like there should be a way to send the project with original footage to AE, do effects, send it back to Premiere, and then replace it with proxies to do further editing while retaining the effects.
This leads to a confusion about how AE works. When I do an effect, am I correct in assuming that it does nothing to the original file? If that's the case, it seems like it shouldn't matter (in the editing stage) what file AE "applies" an effect to (proxy or original). But I feel like there's a hitch in this workflow. The same question could also be asked about going back and forth in Speed Grade.
Perhaps there is no real answer to this and the best option is to save effects and grading for after I have picture lock, but sometimes that's not entirely possible or convenient, etc.
Hopefully this makes some sense—It's a little hard to explain.

I have a question about flash player not working.

I have downloaded and installed both the adobe flash and shochwave players on both my computer. When on a page that requires a flash player I get the message to install adobe flash player. Under computer; program files neither show as being installed just adobe reader and adobe help show. Now under the control panel under Programs and Features the shockwave does show but not the flash player 10. I have a desk top running XP Pro 32 bit. and a laptop running vista 32 bit. I have tried differnt things from the support page nothing there seems to work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the programs seveal times. I did have adobe 8 before which worked fine on my desktop but have been unable to find it to download. Could someone help me to get them to work. Any help would be wonderful, thank you. Patches_11

Question about getting 4S camera fixed at Apple Store.

My wife got an iPhone 4S from Walmart in May of 2012. It had been working great, then 3 weeks ago at the St. Louis zoo her camera shutter wouldn't open. The camera app would open but the shutter would just stay closed. I tried the "hold your finger over the camera" trick, and it worked! For about 5 minutes...then it stopped. Then I read about the "hold sleep and home till it turns off and then hold home"...again it worked! For about 5 minutes then stopped. Updating to ios 6 let the camera work for about a day, then it stopped again. Sooooo...
We live about 2 hours from St. Louis and Louisville (nearest Apple Stores). We are thinking about making a day trip to Louisville to get her phone fixed but I had a couple of questions.
1) Will they repair/repalce iPhone without a receipt from Walmart, but have the original box? Also, I could pull up ATT statements if needed.
2) What happens if we get there and the camera happens to work? (It will work OCCASIONALLY) Did we just waste a trip or will they believe that there was an issue?
3) If they will agree to fix/repace, what will they do? Just give her a refurbished iPhone 4S or try to fix it there? I don't care which, but if they have to send it off then we can just do it from our house. But my wife doesn't want to start with that option because she doesn't want to be without her phone and doesn't trust the "process". lol....
4) oh one more....do I need to call the store or setup something with Apple before I get there? Or can we just bust right up in the store?
Any thoughts/suggestions/experience/strength/hope ?

Thank you!! Dang...yeah, I will call and see what they say. I understand about the thefts and such. I hate that we lost the receipt. Hopefully there is a way we can track proof of purchase. I was going to say that if we did it next weekend then it would still be less than a year old, but you threw the curveball at me about the stolen iphones. Need to ask a question about getting the iPhone 5 without an upgrade available.

Alright so I have currently an iPhone 4S and do NOT have an upgrade available. My question is how do i go about buying the 5 then? From what I know, Apple sells "unlocked" phones at around $750 (I want the 32gig version) but wont come out on launch day. Is there a Verizon specific phone that I can get instead of an "unlocked" phone that would cost cheaper and I can get it on launch day? Or do I have to preorder it through verizon's website?
Another thing is...is there certain fee's that I would have to pay to go along with the phone if I can buy it?

Pernoe: I'm no expert, but this is the way I understand unlocked phones. Unlocked phones that use GSM technology can work on either T-Mobile or AT&T networks. Unlocked phones that use CDMA technology can work on either Sprint or Verizon networks. I can't tell you the difference between GSM and CDMA... I just don't really know what it is, just that AT&T and T-Mobile use GSM and Sprint and Verizon use CDMA.
That being said, I purchased (or at least ordered... my credit card has not been charged yet) 2 iPhone 5's from Verizon and opted to pay full price instead of taking the contract discount. You don't need to buy an unlocked phone to pay full price. You just have to select "month-to-month" pricing instead of "2 year contract" pricing when you buy the phone.

A few questions about getting DSL

   Hi, my home has been out of range for DSL and we've been patiently waiting for years for the day to come when it's available, but it doesnt look like it'll be happening soon. We have a small business we run out of the house and have been paying a fortune a month for those mobile cellular internet cards (a little faster than dial-up) and figured we'd save money eventually if we could just pay verizon engineers to run another base station or repeater to extend the line to reach us.
   My question is would this even be possible, and if so how much do you think it would cost, just an estimate, our neighbors about a mile away (through the power lines) have it. We've pretty much exhausted all other options and need high speed for our growing business.

Few questions about getting rid of unwanted items

OK, i should have done this from the start but I didn't do a fresh install of my OS to get rid of language support, etc....now I am into using my blackbook and have all my camino and safari bookmarks, etc the way I like it.....is there a way to save these preferences on an external HD and do a clean install of OS? If this is possible it is the method I prefer.
OR
Should I just remove what I don't want manually instead? does monolingual work with intel macbooks? do I just trash printer prefs into the trash? How do I make sure my officetrial also gets rid of the 'files' hanging around? (i read a post where someone trahsed MS office and still had files haning around)...
Basically if I stay away from my 'users/library' folder I will be safe? I can trash applications that don't want and be safe?

Here is what about monolingual:
Monolingual is a program that can remove other languages that installed by default by OS X installer that you don't want or use. It also offer to trim down the Input Menu and Architecture.

Here is the tips:
1. Since you only run this once, you can run it directly from virtual drive that mounted after you download the .dmg file by simply double click on its icon.
2. Uncheck the language you want to keep, for I uncheck English, British English and US English to keep.
3. Never play with the input menu for it is not worth of the space you save comparing to the risk you will lost control to your keyboard and have to re-install OS X from the scratch.
4. Never remove and play with architecture option as well for the space is also not worth, and you might lose rosetta ability to run non universal programs.

Question about T430 SATA type support

I just want to know if thinkpad T430 has support of SATA III or only SATA II version, bcs i cant find there any technical specs about interface (only about drives which come with it).
My Vertex 3 SSD is operating only in SATA II so thats why i am asking this.

I had a quick question,
When I get FiOS (haven't ordered yet), how would they make one of my desktops wireless? Do they supply a wireless adapter in the computer setup fee?

That might (or might not) be the adapter's fault. Is this the only wireless attachment you currently have? Have you tried any other wireless device(s) and not had the problem? Do you have the latest drivers for the Belkin adapter? Have you tied changing the channel (lots of things can interfer with the signal, wireless phones are famous for that)? I had a Belkin USB wireless adapter on my wife's PC for a long time and it worked very well (it was a G adapter, not N).
Here is another thought: why do you use the desktop wirelessly? Is it in a room where you have a TV that is going to be using FiOS TV service? If so, you can go to eBay and buy a Motoroa NIM 100 and split the coax into two connections, TV on one, NIM on the other, and hook the PC to the NIM via Cat 5 or 6 cable and have a wired connection. I did that for my wife, works great (except I didn't need to buy the NIM, I already had it from my initial FiOS installation - Verizon no longer uses those, although I understand some techs still have them on their truck, if the idea works, you might ask). Just another option...

Since I have really limited credit limit, I am wondering whether the online store will charge you through the credit card you provide? Do I have any other choices, such as bank card or cheque?
The second question: Is there any special procedure to go through before you can get the student discount?
The third: Which softwares are essential for student's daily and school tasks that are not provided with the new PowerBook? And what do they do? If you can explain them as their counterparts for PC, that's really appreciated.

Well, there's Microsoft Office for Mac, of course. Although AppleWorks may be an acceptable alternative. It supports word-processing, spreadsheets and databases, although it appears to be being phased out. Pages is a newer word processing app that works well with Word documents.

Question about getting rented movie from Macbook to Tv

I rented a movie on my MB yesterday while on the road, today I decided to watch the end of the movie on my tv at home.
TV:
setting>computer>add shared itunes Lib>Entered the code on my MB
My MB itunes is showing on TV but can't find the rented movie??/
Clicked on TV in itunes, I get only 2 tabs, Summary and Photos. Under Summary I am missing Automatic Sync or Custom Sync and no Rented Movie frame. No option to choose what movie, music, podcast etc.. I want to sync . Looks completely different that what I obtain on my G5????

Yep - only one at a time. You can stream from more than one though. I have a primary Library that I use for syncing (I only sync photos and all the other content shows up automatically under "My Music, My Movies etc").

Question about "Get Web Drawing URL and Page Name From" for Visio Web Access

I am trying to get both the web drawing URL and the page name from a list through Share Point Designer 2013, but it doesn´t work.
It looks fine when a do the web part connection wizard. I select from which columns to get the URL and the page name. But on the final web part page nothing happens. It just shows the URL that is selected in the Visio Web Access Web part. I had hoped that
that value should be overrided by the SPD-settings.
I have googled for hours..

I have now saved the Visio-file in .vdw-format, but it says Visio 2010 Web Drawing (*.vdw). Is there a .vdw-format for 2013? Isn´t that the .vsdx-format?
Still doesn´t work with the .vdw-format, but maybe I am doing something wrong.
Any ideas?

Iphone stolen - question about getting new one

I had only just gotten my 8 gb iphone 3G for my birthday in August 08. (Last summer.) I got a two year contract with AT&T at that time. Then at the beginning of this year - in the end of Feb 09 - a punk on the train stole my iphone. : ( I wanted to get a new one but Apple said I had to pay full price $399 instead of the $199 my friends paid for the first one, because my contract was not up. Does anyone know if this still applies if I want to buy the 3G S now? Will I have to pay full price or can I get it for the going price - which I think is $199??? Correct?
