K9Ag Neo2-Digital--) HDMI doesn't work nor sound!!

Hi there!! I thought I posted a message about 2 hours ago.  However, it seems to have disappeared.  My apologies if I found the wrong forum for my Motherboard.
I wonder if anyone had any advice about my above mentioned motherboard.
I cleanly installed Windows XP SP3 recently and the audio card won't install, though it does work on another, older windows installation which didn't have the SP packs built in.
The second issue is the dual video inputs don't seem to work.  I've tried both the DVI out and the HDMI out to my HD Viewsonic TV.
Any tips?  If this is the wrong forum, could you please direct to the right one??
thanks!

Hi there!! I just had an interesting idea and I wonder if this solve the Realtek Audio problem.
As I stated above, i have two XP instalations on one computer in two different partitions.  One of them was an older build which i manually upgraded to sp3.  On this version the audio installed properly.  On the second XP, SP3 pack was built in, however, the realtek audio won't instal, no matter how hard i try.
The idea I have is, is it possible to copy part of the windows files, possibly, the system 32 files and paste them into the Windows folder?
Do you think anything like that might work?
thanks

  • K9AG Neo2-DIgital: AMI BIOS v1.7 has no AHCI setting

    Hi folks,
I recently upgraded my K9AG Neo2-Digital AMI BIOS from its original version (I don't remember what exactly) to v1.7 (the latest available on the MSI website).  Before the upgrade I had three choices for the SATA mode: IDE, ACHI, and RAID.  Now the setting is called "RAID Mode" and the only choices are: IDE, RAID.
What happened to the AHCI setting?  I've been doing a lot of reading lately, and there doesn't seem to be a shortage of people having problems with AHCI and this board.  Perhaps the latest BIOS simply disables it because of issues?
Anyway, it's a bit of a bummer because I finally got the latest Vista x64 AHCI drivers from both Microsoft (msahci.sys) and MSI (ahcix64s.sys) slipstreamed into my Vista setup DVD so I could try to do a repair install and get Vista to work in AHCI mode.  I had originally installed it in IDE mode, and thought, hey why not try AHCI (or RAID in the future).  Now I can't even choose AHCI mode in the BIOS.  The original Vista install DVD wouldn't even load if I enabled AHCI in the BIOS - presumably due to the older msahci.sys drivers not supporting the SB600 at all.
I tried RAID mode, and the RAID BIOS detected my existing Vista drive as 1+0 JBOD, and the Vista install DVD detected the Vista installation on the drive (after loading the ahcix64s.sys driver), but I don't see any Vista repair installation option.  This is off topic, but is there even such a thing in Vista?  I know XP has a repair install that will fix the OS but leave all your apps and settings in tact.
I get the feeling that Vista and AHCI/RAID were just never meant to work with the SB600 :(
    Any thoughts?
    -Paul

  • K9AG Neo2 Digital and USB

    System specs:
    AMD 64 X2 6000 (125w)
    K9AG Neo2 Digital (bios 1.5)
    2x Kingston 1G DDR2 667
    MSI Ge force 7800GT
    Western Digital 500GB IDE HD
    Windows XP Home SP2
    Thermaltake 700w PSU
Please excuse any naivety on my part.  I recently purchased the CPU/mainboard mentioned above and am not able to install USB 2.0 from the included CD.  All other drivers (ATI installed first) installed with no problem.  This was a clean install of Windows XP SP1 with SP2 installed immediately after.  BIOS indicates that USB is enabled.  I've tried uninstalling the USB drivers with no change after reboot.  With that, I'm at the end of my comfort zone for any other proceedings and come to the forum for help.  In searching the forums, I found this post https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=112724.0 which I tried to emulate and failed.  I'd appreciate further insight and assistance.  I have another question as well.  The CPU/board was purchased locally at a point when I didn't have access to review or investigate the products on line.  I was told the 6000 125w would work with no problems with the K9AG Neo2 board.  Is this the case and am I risking damage to system?  Thanks for your time.

The 125w version of AMD X2 cpus should not be used with your motherboard.  These cpus overload the power regulation circuit on the motherboard and can cause the motherboard's power regulation circuit to fail.  This may be the cause of the USB problem since the USB controller draws power from the motherboard to run any USB devices.
Check this link for supported cpu.
    http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=prodcpusupport&prod_no=1241&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=171&cat3_no=#menu
IMHO, exchange your cpu for the 89w version and see if that cures your problem.

  • I upgraded to mountain lion, now my mini dvi to hdmi doesn't work

I installed mountain lion and now my mini dvi to hdmi doesn't work.  I did a disk permission repair, but that didn't help.  Any suggestions?

My internet card will only work on 32bit,and it sounds like mountain lion only works on 64bit so that must be my problem. I think I will have to upgrade my internet or go back to lion.

  • Does the K9AG Neo2-Digital supports AMD's virtualization extensions ?

I want to build a home server based on the K9AG Neo2-Digital.
This machine should run several XEN Vitual Hardware Machines.
For this I need a BIOS that supports the AMD's virtualization extensions AMD-V (a.k.a.  Pacifica, SVM).
    Thanks
    Martin

CPU hardware virtualization only got really worthwhile with Nested Pages in Barcelona (and with ESX 3.5)
If not Barcelona then I would not depend the choice of a motherboard based on CPU hardware virtualization support.
Up till Barcelona CPU hardware virtualization is actually slower. It's not. ESX in Workstation shows great impovement WITH AMD-V.
When more budget is available see if there's a Xen compatiblity list like with ESX. And base your choices around that.
BTW Running ESX 3.0.2 on "cheap" HP ML115 (DC Opteron) bought @ebay for about 250Euro.
    With 200Euro upgrade to 6GB Kingoston DDR2-800 non-ECC it's running 6VM's including Exchange2007
I ran XenServer yesterday on the ML115 and runs great out of the box
    Edit: 2 mofifications

It means that has BIOS ver. 1.50, you need 1.70 or above with this CPU.

Nop, install supported CPU[borrow from friends] by current BIOS version and update the BIOS.
Or send mainboard back to reseller to update the BIOS for you

    Hold fire m8
I'm in the same boat.  I have the Neo2 with 3200 Venice and after applying all correct settings it doesn't work.  CnQ is not yet working with the Venice or San Diego chips.  There should be a new official BIOS update coming out any day that will rectify it, or if you're impatient you could try the 1.9 build 5 (Beta) that enables CnQ to work with Venice chips.
I would personally recommend waiting for the official update though, because you take your MB's life into your own hands with a Beta.
Here is a CnQ FAQ outlining the correct steps to take in setting up CnQ (steps you've already taken!)

  • Getting rpm values from the fans on the MSI NEO2-FIR motherboard doesn't work

I currently have 6 Noctua NF-S12-1200 120mm fans spinning in my computer but i am unable to get rpm values from them except the cpu-fan. It doesn't work to get a readout from the others with either, BIOS, Dual Core Center or Speedfan. Regarding Speedfan is it true it don't support the SuperIO Chip on the Neo2, the FINTEK F71882F? It's not currently listed in their supported temperature sensors list.
So whats the problem? Shouldn't atleast DualCore Center atleast show the rpm's from the other chassis fans?
Or the fans don't support sensor readings?
    Thanks!

Quote from: Jack on 13-October-10, 00:15:36
Well, there is nothing that can be done about.  SysFAN 1 & 4 support sensor readings,  #2,#3 and #5 don't.  You can also see that in BIOS Setup.  #1&#4 are the only ones that show up there (H/W Monitor section).  This is not a malfunction or a bug.  You have to live with no fan sensor readings or be creative about the wiring.
The problem is that i use the UNLA cables from Noctua which half the speed of the NF-S12 fans i run with. And it blocks the rpm readouts in Speedfan and BIOS.
    http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=productview&products_id=5&lng=en
Strange thing is that the CPU fan reads fine with the ULNA cable attached but the SYSFANS will not read the rpm with the ULNA cables.
    What is wrong?

  • HDMI doesn't work, but MDP- DVI- HDMI works

    Hello!
I just got my new Mac Mini and tried to connect it to my TV (a Samsung LE22S8) over HDMI, but this doesn't work since the TV reports "unsupported resolution" (it's the TV's native resolution of 1680x1050, where I also checked all frequencies using an external program and they are as written in the manual of the TV).
However when I connect the TV over a Mini Display Port to DVI adapter, and then use a DVI to HDMI adapter (so that the TV is still using the HDMI input) it works fine.
So what's the difference between MDP->DVI->HDMI and HDMI->HDMI (all resolution and pixel frequency settings are identical)? What can I do to get the HDMI->HDMI solution working?

It also appears that there is no conversion when HDMI-video is extracted from DVI, only that the pins are shuffled.
If direct DVI works on that port, then HDMI-video with an adapter should work as well. As I mentioned above, VGA is present on DVI-I ports on a separate set of pins, and VGA working or VGA not working has no bearing on your problem.
If a Mini DisplayPort is involved, the most common issue is that the Mini DisplayPort connector is not inserted firmly enough. It has a lot of pins and you have to press hard to seat it.
Other possibilities are that the resolution you selected is beyond the capability of the display device, or that the adapter is bad.
Is this the stock display card, or one you added later, and what model?

  • DVI to HDMI doesn't work with Panasonic Monitor

    Hi all,
I have a Panasonic monitor, model TH-50PX75U that we've used with my Macbook Pro.  I have an DVI (large style) to HDMI cable that we connect the Macbook with, and it works fine.
I also have a MacPro that I want to use this monitor with. It has 1 full size DVI display port and 2 mini display ports.  In the past I've used the DVI and one mini port to connect 2 monitors at once one the MacPro and it has worked fine.
I tried  connecting the Panasonic monitor to use on my mid 2012 MacPro  but I never get a picture.  I reconnected one of the other monitors to a mini dispplay port and can see that the MacPro recognizes the Panasonic monitor.  Both monitors show up in the Display section under System Preferences.  I've tries various settings for the Panasionic monitor but I can never get anything to display on it.
What am I missing here?  The MacPro is a mid 2012 with 3.2Gig Quad Core / 6 Gig ram / Radion 5770 graphic card, and runs ML 10.8.3.
    Any advise is appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Ray

Ok, so I had time to do some testing and here's what I've done:
I plugged in my Macbook which does work on the Pana monitor, and looked at the Profile.  I then compared it to the Profile on the Mac Pro.  There are some differences which I'm guessing have to do with different HW.  I'm going to include some photos of the working and not working monitor scenarios do you can see what I'm seeing.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to make this work?
Photo1: Shows the Macbook and the Pana monitor together using DVI to HDMI cable to connect the two.
Photo2: Shows the display settings with the small monitor and Pana connected to Mac Pro.  Notice there are no numbers in the diplays. Mirroring them doesn't work either.  The small monitor is using a DVI to mini port adapter to connect to the graphics card, the Pana is using an HDMI to DVI cable (same one I used with the Macbook) to connect to the DVI port of the graphics card.
Photo3: Both monitors are on.  The Mac Pro knows the Panasonic is there but I never get a display on it.

  • HP Probook 4520s: sound card doesn't work (no sound, red mute button)

    Нello!
I have an issue with my HP Probook 4520s. Its internal speakers  and microphone doesn't work. I've tried to install and reinstall drivers from here, tried to rollback driver to older version but I always have the same result: installed the IDT sound codec, and after a restart, the mute button  turned red and I cannot switch it.
    Soundcard device ID: HDAUDIO\FUNK_01&VEN_111&DEV_7605
    OS: Windows 7 Professional x86
    How can I fix it?

Hi, just registered to post my solution. I got HP ProBook 4330s in for repair. Problem: some sticky liquid spilled all over and no sound. Also discovered that no microphone as well, but webcam did work just fine.
    What I tried:
    1) Installed fresh Win 7 Ultimate 32-bit and all official drivers (audio driver did not want to install), still no sound. Sound icon shows red cross. Message: No audio output device installed.
    1) Installed the newest version of BIOS, in my case F.40, still no sound.
    2) Pluged in headphones, still no sound.
    3) Took apart, unpluged and firmly inserted every possbile cable, still no sound.
    4) Found in BIOS everything that relates to Audio. Made sure Audio device is enable, still no sound.
    5) Install XP and installed XP sound driver, still no sound. In fact, that driver did not install correctly, showed some kind of error.
What did work, in consecutive order:
    1) Took apart again and took out the coin battery that retains the BIOS data, date, clock etc.
    2) Put everything back together, switched on, entered the correct date in BIOS settings, and started Win 7 Ultimate. Still no sound. But I noticed that Win 7 Ultimate has found some devices and was installing drivers for it. Though did not check exactly which ones.
    3) If I could not get the sound working I was determined to buy some speakers with USB connection. Then, I remembered that I already had a set of speakers for another laptop. These speakers had USB connection to draw power from and a grean standard headphone connection/plug to draw audio signal. I plugged in these speakers into HP 4330s and the sound started coming from these external speakers. The sound icon next to the clock in bottom right corner switched to normal mode and I could control volume with my mouse. Then I unpluged external USB speakers and the sound started coming from the HP's built in speakers.
Checked with Device Manager that correct sound drivers are installed and microhpone appeared to be installed as well. Though did not check with Skype if microhpone was working.
I was soooo happy!!! I struggled with this problem for three long days, searched many forums (none gave solution), tried everything with drivers, took apart the laptop some three or four times (now I learned to do it with my eyes closed, so to speak).
I started to think that taking out the BIOS/date coin battery did the trick. There must be some glitch in BIOS to motherboard connection in these HP ProBook laptops, and all BIOS settings need to be reset.
I'll be happy if this helps someone.

  • Mini Display port HDMI doesn't work? How to fix it it doesn't show neither video nor audio

    Hi,
I bought two days ago a Rocketfish mini DisplayPort to HDMI but I still cannot watch anything in my tv. I've tried everything. I plugged the HDMI cable in differents ports of my tv, I plugged it in differents TV of my house but nothing happened. I dont know what the problem is : the TV's, my MacBook Pro or the adapter. I went to system preferences > Displays but the it doesn't recognize the TV and in the other hand the TV doesn't recognize any signal. Help me plase to solve this problem.
    Thank you

I dont think is the cable because it works with my playstation 3. Does the size of the tv have any relation to the problem?
No, the size of the TV makes no difference at all.
I would try to exchange the adapter.

  • Mini-DP to HDMI doesn't work MacBook Air 2013

    Hey all!
    I've bought a iWantIt Mini-DP to HDMI/DVI/DP adapter. (This one specifically: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/pc-accessories/apple-accessories/apple-accessories /iwantit-imdhdd13-mini-displayport-adapter-21359616-pdt.html).
On my 2013 MBA running OSX 10.9.1, I try to connect to my Samsung TV via HDMI. The screen flashes when the HDMI cable gets plugged in, but then nothing happens after that. The TV doesn't seem to be recognised at all, and when I switch to the HDMI port the TV says there is no signal. I've tried all the, restart with the HDMI cable plugged in, plugged out etc but nothing like that has worked.
Does anyone else have any issues like this?

Then unless there's some newer/different setup in 2011 13" MBP (if so, I'd look in Displays), it sounds like a hardware issue, either with the cable or the MBP.
I would contact AppleCare, as you are still in your three month free phone support, and one year hardware warranty.

  • Thunderbolt to HDMI doesn't work correctly with 10.8

My external HP monitor just keeps flickering when on its native resolution (1600x1050) - any other resolution (unusable) work fine.
I was searching for solution over the internet and only found other people having the same problem - with no answer to it.
The Thunderbolt (Mini Display port) - HDMI reduction as well as the HDMI cable work fine as my girlfriend's MacBook (on 10.6) works perfect using the same cables.
I am using a brand new MB air and a HP w2207h monitor.
    Thanks for help.

I'm not sure I'm getting your answer - it is a know issue... so am I supposed to leave feedback on it again or what do you mean?
Do you think someone is working on fixing it? Or what am I supposed to do?
    thanks!

  • Mini Displayport to HDMI doesn't work!

    Hi 2 all!
I bought a Mini Displayport to HDMI cable (Manufacturer Artwizz) a few weeks ago and last week I have received the new Macbook Pro 13''.
I tried to connect the Macbook with my LCD TV and Beamer through this cable but both didn't work! After having connected the cable, there was just a blue screen for one second on the macbook, and the TV/Beamer just recognized that I have put in a HDMI cable. But there has nothing been transferred to the TV screen.
Do I have to change anything in the settings on my Macbook or what can I do that the connection works?
    Thanks, Dario
