K9N2 Diamond problems installing Vista 64bit Raid Drivers

Hello everyone I have been having problems installing Raid Drivers during Vista 64 Install.  The 32-bit drivers work fine and I can also set up Windows Vista 32 in Raid 0.  But the same place where the " No CD/DVD drivers..." clause is will not let me use 64-bit Drivers.  I have tried MCP72 and MCP73 raid drivers and neither is recognized.  This is my setup.....
AMD Athlon 64 x 2 (3.2ghz)  Black Edition
LiteOn Blu-Ray Player/Burner
LiteOn DVD/CD Burner
2 x 640 GB WD HDD
8gb (4 x 2gb Sticks) OCZ PC 6400 (DDR2 800) Ram
2 x Nvidia GeForce 9800 GSOs SLI
Xion 850w Modular Power Supply
K9N2 Diamond Motherboard
I am not using IDE at all,  everything is Sata. So in BIOS I have IDE Controller off.   I have the SATA port Set to RAID.  I have no idea what I am doing wrong.  I had this same setup on my K9N SLI Platinum board and it all worked fine. However every since I "upgraded" to this board I havent been able to install Vista 64 on my Array.  I also have tried formatting the HDDs and I have tried setting up the Raid all over. Plz help me.  This is my first post ever in a forum so if you need any info that I did not post here pls just let me know :D

  • Does anyone here know how to install vista 64bit on MBP C2D?

Just ordered a 17" today. Wanna know if I can install vista 64bit on it?
    thanks,
    m.j

It runs fine and pretty fast. Drivers are a problems, can't seem to find any. I am about to delete it though cause its useless. I just partitioned with boot camp and then popped in the Vista 64 bit CD and it installed it self. took about 30 to 40 minutes. it does look nice though but the warning pop ups are very annoying and will at a certain point drive you crazy.
    good luck

  • Satellite A350-13D - Can I install Vista 64bit?

    Hi
(excuse me, I can't speak english very well, sorry if I write with faults)
3 days ago, I bought an Toshiba Satellite A350-13D. It has 4GB RAM, but Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit is installed. The computer can use only 3GB.
Can I install Vista Home Premium 64 Bit to use the totality of RAM (4GB)? Where can I download the driver for my computer?
    Thanks for your help :)
    Have a nice day

    Hi!
Of course you can I install Windows Vista 64bit Why not? What do you think?
On the Toshiba website I can find all drivers for Vista 64bit on Satellite A350 so it should all working properly with Vista 64. Check it yourself:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
But note there are two different BIOS versions available One for 32bit and one for 64bit. After installing Vista 64bit you must update the BIOS too.

  • IMac 3.06ghz with Vista 64bit :: Need drivers for GPU nVidia 8800 GS

    Hey everybody,
I succesfully installed Vista 64bit on my newest iMac with Boot Camp, but the only thing missing right now is the driver for the GPU, Nvidia 8800 GS 512MB RAM. Any idea if I can install a fitting driver? I already tried the auto-detect driver from Nvidia's website and I manually selected the latest driver there, but none works.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks so far!
    Mx

    Hi Mx,
use the driver and modification found here: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/
Since the iMacs don't use the Desktop versions but rather the Mobility versions of GPUs, the generic NVIDIA driver won't install because of the missing entry in the .inf file.

  • Problem installing vista/xp on a mac pro, installers don't see bootcamp

    hello there!
recently, a video post production studio i work for purchased a new penryn-based mac pro (2x3.0 ghz, 6gb ram, nvidia 8800gtx).
yesterday i wanted to install vista onto it to be able to help other windows machines in the studio with 3d studio max rendering jobs (8 cores should do wonders for that), but i ran into a weird obstacle.
this mac has 5 internal sata drives - one (320gb) for the system, and 4 disks (750gb each) in raid0 set (just a temporary setup until the studio purchases a fiber optic card with external disks). the DVD drive is an IDE one.
this is the first time i'm setting up windows on a mac, so i could be doing something wrong, even though i doubt it - it seems very straightforward.
so i created a 32gb partition on the system disk (the only one that's not in raid) using boot camp assistant, and started vista sp1 x64 install (boot camp recognized the install dvd).
after a reboot, vista started it's setup routine. everything was fine until it reached the part where i should select the destination partition for vista. this is the weird part: vista installer sees all 4 750gig drives from the raid, but it doesn't see my system drive (320gig) which has Macintosh HD and BOOTCAMP partitions on it. vista even sees any usb drives connected.
doesn't seem logical, as all sata drives are on the same controller (at least that's what leopard system profiler says).
i thought it had something to do with the fact i'm trying to install 64bit vista, so i tried with windows xp sp2 (x86), but the same thing happened.
i searched all over, but couldn't find anyone with the same problem.
    any thoughts?

I would pull all the drives except your boot drive. Makes it easier.
32GB is pretty small actually for Vista x64. And the SP1 patch process can temporarily use another 10GB. Also, you are running off the slow inner tracks of your drive, which is half performance of outer tracks.
Most people opt for stock 2.8GHz Penryn - not a huge benefit from going with 3GHz, but that is beside the point.
Always good to disconnect any device during the install except what you have to use (keyboard, mouse) which can interfere.
You MUST reformat the 32GB from FAT to NTFS before you can install. That is where most people stop. You have to DELETE and then CREATE that BOOTCAMP 32GB (Advanced Options) before you can proceed with installation.
You don't want 32-bit version if you want to access more than 1.9GB RAM.

  • K9N2 Diamond Problems

I was going to buy this board (MSI K9N2 Diamond) but it seems there are way too many issue's with it.  Sound Drivers, 9950be compatibility using shipped bios, SLi, different video cards etc and other compatibility issue's. Problems going back to release and there is only one bios update! People using having to use Beta Bios?  :huh:Have all these problems been fixed by MSI? Or will I have the same issue's if I buy the K9N2 Diamond now with a 9950be, Corsair Twinx 2x4096-8500c5df?  I have had MSI's in the past wilt np but it sounds horrible if you buy this board. I don't care about SLi. Just want this board for all the other reason. Mainly can I use it with an Nvidia main card in 1st PCI-e x16, and an ATI AIW in the 2nd or 3rd PCI-e x16. Hope someone can help me. Has anyone bought this board and installed with this setup with no problems...... Out of box and no problems??? Everything working correctly? I'm scared to buy it!

    http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=prodcpu2&prod_no=1438&maincat_no=1#menu
    The 9950 is supported.
Other then that, I don't see that many issues here in the forum with that board.
But if you are that worried, why not go with an MSI ATI chipset board?

  • K8N Neo 2 Plat. NVRAID - problem installing Vista Beta 2, anyone can help???

now, since this board is supported by the nForce 3 ultra chipset and that nVidia has not yet develloped 64-bit Windows Vista Beta 2 drivers for NVRAID (64 bit of course), system drivers have been available.
the online upgrade checker program thing that is used by Microsoft to verify if vista beta 2 will install properly on this board says I might have trouble with SATA Raid support since it does not recognize the nForce 3 ultra NVRAID.
Does anyone have the slightest idea where these driver could be found or will MSI devellop them in time cause I have a copy that is waiting to be installed but it will simply not recognize my hard disk or will not see it at all.
my disks are 3 x WD Raptor 74GB in RAID 0

Quote from: exess on 27-July-06, 00:21:47
tried that already guys!!!!! these drivers support nForce4 and above.........................
I even tried nVidia support, and them to tell me to contact MSI since they haven'T develloped any.........................
this is lame..... I mean the board ain't that old.....
well, if nvidia support doesn't have any, than MSI won't have any. i don't know why you think it's lame if a manufacturer doesn't have drivers for an operating system that is not even released yet (beta doesn't mean it is final).

  • MSI K9N2 Diamond problem with GPU

I get into BIOS (mine is v2.3) and my CPU is recognized and my RAM is also at 4gb @ 800 but my BFG 9800 GT 1gb somehow isnt right. I get video and I can get my 1920X1200 resolution. But its only 8 bit and no memory ???? This card is less than 2 months old. Also once I start loading my drivers  (Vista Home Premium 32bit loaded no problem) my system shuts down-instantly. Any attempts to restart are another instant shut down. Then a clear CMOS and pop the battery to start all over. I would like to know if there are any BIOS settings I need to know about that could help. I have got Vista loaded and setup . When I start loading all my drivers is when the troublr begins. My CPU isnt overheating. Any advice will be appreciated. These instant shut-downs are so depressing ! Thanks  , jwill58

I just changed my GPU to a weaker but new MSI 9500 GT and did a clear CMOS and fresh (format) install of Vista...everything was so smooth with no problems then , as soon as I loaded the LAN driver from the MSI K9N2 m/b disc, to connect to the internet...BAM...it turns off. My motherboard LED's are still lit but its as though I pushed and held the power button. Before you ask...there is no overheating whatsoever...I made sure of this early in the process. Im sure if I hadnt loaded the LAN driver my PC would still be humming along right now.All my parts and pieces are recognized -the GPU is the only problem I've had and while it didnt seem to work properly I was getting monitor input...I even had the resolution set at 1920x1200. I didnt set the resolution on this new card...didnt want to change too much so I could figure out whats causing my problems. Im open to suggestions.

  • Fresh Install Vista 64bit X-fi Fatality no sound

Hey everyone I'm needing help in getting sound to work with my card. I have just rebuilt my entire computer setup and am having issues getting any sound with my card. I've downloaded the driver? 6.0..368 and have rebooted but no sound is coming out still. I'm at a loss here, have searched the forum for other issues and haven't found an answer that works. If anyone has some answers, I'd greatly appreciate it.
    Vista 64 bit
    X-fi Fatality card
    EVGA 750i SLI FTW Board

I can't get my mic to work at all in Vista 64. I also have 4 gigabyte's of ram. I have the latest drivers installed.
It constantly reads as unavailable in the Control Panel / Sound / Recording.
I can turn on my MB soundcard and plug it into that and get it to register with Vista, but it still doesn't work, it just screeches.
I'm not sure what to do, my mic was very important when I played WoW and I feel as though I might not be able to fix this problem anytime soon. I could try reinstalling the creative drivers to see if anything changes...
Oh, and I have the X-Fi Gamer card.
    ***FIXED IT***
I found a fix for my problem. I downloaded Smart Recorder for Vista 64 on Creative's website, and messed around with it. I was able to actually hear myself through my mic and was able to get rid of the hiss with the option. Than magically after playing with it, my Mic showed up in the control panel / sound / recorder. Tried it out in gtalk and it works fine. Crossing my fingers for the future.Message Edited by dcasez on 07-8-2007:09 PM

  • Problem installing RME Fireface 800 drivers iMac OS X 10.8.5

    Hi,
The drivers for the RME Fireface 800 audio interface will not install on my iMac.
    iMac 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB Ram, OS X 10.8.5
(I have also borrowed a Fireface 800, which works, from a friend so it does not seem to be a problem with my audio interface).
I downloaded the latest drivers from the RME website and the installation proceedure appears to go smoothly but the drivers are not installed (and no sign of the two programs that usually install; the mixer application and the application for choosing the inputs/outputs etc..)
The Fireface 800 and iMac were both working happily together using OS X 10.5 but the iMac hard drive had to be replaced and the operating system has been upgraded to OS X 10.8.5.
I am trying Onyx to see if it clears this up.
    Please help me. Thank you.
    Ben

    Hi,
Onyx is asking:  Where is System Events.app
Does anyone know how I should action this or if this could be linked to the issue with installing drivers and if so what I should do?
    Thanks
    Ben

  • X200 Vista 64Bit Audio Drivers

I let System Update attempt to update the Connexant audio drivers and it failed because the update that was available was not signed.  64Bit requires all signed drivers.  Now I can't even get back to how the machine originally shipped as the driver available for download appears to have the same issue.
Pointers to where I can find the right driver?

Did you even read my post?
This isn't an issue with UAC.  This isn't an issue with an ActiveX control and the authenticode prompt.
This is an issue with 64Bit Windows only loading signed drivers.  Hvae you ever run a 64Bit OS?
EXCUSE ME?how do you expect to get an answer without reading your "COMPLETE" post? try following this method and the next time mind your language if you can!
    go to cmd
    2. Right-click on the shortcut and select Run as administrator
    3. When the command window opens, type or paste the following and press ENTER:
    Bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks ON
    4. Reboot and then try installing the driver.

  • Problem installing Vista Business 64-Bit

I was able to partition my second harddrive and restart, but when I got to the installation step (after booting into vista setup), I cannot install it on any harddrive. The hard drive I wanted to install cannot be installed. I even format that drive like it said to do in boot camp instruction but it still gives me a message that it cannot install on the drive I just formatted. Any idea?

Format the partition (I think you actually have to delete and create new) because BC and Disk Utility don't create valid NTFS volumes for Vista. Sometimes after creating a new partition, if it won't, just restart from Vista DVD is all it takes.
If you don't want to use the entire drive, use Disk Utility, create a FAT partition, and you'll be fine, after changing it to NTFS.

  • Boot Camp Problem Installing Vista

I decided to install Windows vista on my iMac via Boot Camp. I start the application choose 20GB partition then when I put the disc in (Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium 32BIT) and click Start Installation it starts up the disc but I get this black screen with a white underscore like this _ in the top left corner. I can't exit unless I restart hold down the option button and click my Mac partition. And when I do that I see a disc labeled Windows rather then a hard drive icon. I really need Windows for a lot of applications. If someone knows what I'm doing wrong please let me know. I have Mac OS X v10.5.6.
    In short:
I start my Windows OS Disc via Boot Camp and I get black screen with a white underscore in the top left. My settings from Boot Camp are 20GB Windows partition. I don't know if thats too small for Vista or what please let me know. Thanks!

Since t his forum is for troubleshooting the installation of OS X, you should probably post your question in the Boot Camp forums:
