K9NGM Board not Vista compatible?

I've just put together a new system
MSI K9NGM using bios ver:3.1
AMD Athlon 64 3800+
1GB 533MHz DDRII Ram
Onboard VGA
I've read that this bios is not Vista compatible but have been unable to locate another one that is? does anyone know where I can get one?

I recently purchased a K210 desktop which came with the BluRay drive. The machine came from the factory with Vista 32-bit and WinDVD Platinum as the software for the BLURay drive. When I was unable to play BluRay or HD-DVD disks (WinDVD locks up at "updating AACS key") I checked both Corel and Microsoft websites and they both state that WinDVD Platinum is not Vista compatible.

I am trying out Windows?Vista Ultimate Edition Build 6000 (RTM). Contrary to what I have read from these message boards (mainly this post http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=dap&message.id=48598)?and the Knowledge base (ZVM as an MTP device should nati'vely work with WMP, http://us.creative.com/support/kb/article.asp?l=2&sid=486), my ZVM is not being picked up by Vista nati'vely. I must install drivers. But the problem is the XP drivers don't seem to work. ERROR 1604 --- Windows XP 64 NOT Vista

i just received my iPod touch 8gb last night, i won it on ebay. brand new, had not been opened. i know that apple, in its infinite wisdom has made iTunes not easily compatible with XP 64, but i read a simple tutorial on how to get Vistas 64-bit iTunes installer to work for me, and it did. got itunes installed, updated up to 7.7, got all my applemobiledevice support drivers installed, got my computer to recognize my iPod as an ipod, and not a digital still camera. got it to sync and copy over all my songs onto it. i went through the settings, got my ipod all set up and everything, but noticed that my apps that i downloaded on my itunes store were not there. so i started downloading the 2.0 firmware update from the iTunes store and went to the bathroom. when i came back, my screen on the ipod was black, and my itunes said "the ipod "ipod" could not be restored. an unknown error occured (1604)" i have looked all over for what to do, and apparently 1604 is a common infuriating error. however all the stuff that i read how to do have someone saying "gee thanxors! that fixed it!" but nothing is working for me.
i do not have, nor have i tried to, a jailbreaked ipod touch.
i reboot my computer and tried the restore again. error 1604.
i uninstalled itunes and the applemobiledevice drivers, and reinstalled. tried the restore. no luck. error 1604.
i have put my ipod into recovery mode before trying this nearly everytime.
each time i try and restore it "Extracts Software" and the starts "Preparing iPod for restore" as soon as the preparing ipod for restore pops up, my screen on my ipod switches from the itunes and dock logo (recovery mode, right?)to a black screen. the preparing bar goes back and forth for a while, and then gives me the 1604 error. also, as soon as the ipod goes to a black screen and itunes is preparing for restore, my ipod gets "disconnected" from my computer, as in, like i unplugged it from the USB, and then i get a notice saying that my computer has located a "USB device" and the install new hardware box pops up. if i just leave it, i get the 1604 error. i have tried installing a driver for it. it was an apple ipod(recovery) usb driver device or something. when i install that driver and do it all over again, i get another error during the prepare to restore, but this time it is error code -1. i havent found many or anyone reporting an error code -1. i uninstalled that driver and tried over and over.
i downloaded an alternate software update to shift+click restore to, "iPod1,12.0_5A347Restore.ipsw" but that still did the exact same thing, 1604.
i tried shiftclick restoring to the actual software update that itunes downloaded for me, considering that i am technically running vista itunes, that it might have been searching for the update in a different folder.
i dont know what else to do. i have had my ipod on and in working use for a total of 10 minutes perhaps before i tried to update. i have run out of pillows to punch, and my family thinks that i might be possessed by a demon by how angry im getting. PLEASE help, and let me know. i am VERY close to reformatting my entire computer and installing XP 32-bit, but theres just so much stuff to copy and reinstall that im hoping theres a better fix for this thing. PLLLEEEAAASSSEEE Help!!

I am having the exact same problem. My 16GB iPod touch has been working fine since I bought it last October (when they first came out).
After putting on the 2.02 OS a couple of weeks back my iPod worked for a day or so and now will no longer boot up. If I'm lucky I get the Apple Logo and thats all. Sometimes I get a white screen and sometimes I get random flickering on the screen too.
I've tried booting into recovery mode (connect cable, load iTunes, press and hold home button on touch while pressing power, then release power, etc.) and performing a restore. I sometimes get the 'connect to iTunes' graphic but after iTunes extracts the software, it produces an "iPod could not be restored" error - sometimes with ID 1605, 1605, -1, 2003, a whole host of different error IDs.
My main computer is running Windows XP SP3 (not 64bit like the OP). However, I've also tried this on my Windows Vista laptop and my Mac mini (running Mac OS 10.5).
All machines are unable to restore the iPod.
I'm working on some web-based dev projects for the iPod and iPhone and I really need this working.
Anyone know how much Apple (UK) charge for a repair of this type?
Is there anything else anyone can suggest?

AFAIK, it's been over three years since a WinXP laptop or desktop PC has been sold; I specifically bought a laptop in June 2008 because it was being clearanced by that retail chain to meet Microsoft's deadline, and got it real cheap. It was tagged for the store manager to purchase, but he let me have it because I exceeded his expectations for the services I performed for his store and thought I deserved it. Anything that wasn't made for Vista-compatibility will be very iffy with Win7, IMO - so that basically rules out anything that was made before like Oct or Nov 2007.
Unless another DNS 11 user happens to see this thread and can verify whether it works in Firefox 6.0 or not, I don't what to recommend except for you doing a web search to see what other DNS / Firefox users have to say about compatibility.

Vista Compatible PC Suite for 3650 - When?

Hi, I would like to know if a Vista compatible version of the PC Suite for 3650 is in the works? And that would include ability to support the Vista native BT stack.
And one big question: Why can't we (3650 users) use the full featured PC Suite 6.82? We are stuck with a lame version of PC Suite. I hope there is still a better version coming, because v3.0 really sucks.

With the 3650 you are stuck with whatever is the latest PC Suite version for it. I don't believe there'll ever be any updates for it to support Vista.
The new PC Suite 6.* generation depends on a very different mechanism to connect to the phone than what's available on the 3650. So, the 3650 would have to change to get the necessary bits that the newer PC Suite versions expect it to have. That's not going to happen, either.
Nokia could, of course, have made the newer PC Suite also compatible with older phones, but probably decided it wasn't worth the effort, or something (like not enough money budgeted for the development for such nice-to-have things).

Will the Creative Labs Audigy 2 ZS Notebook PCMCIA sound card be Vista compatible at some point?No need to tell me the date it's due or anything like that. It isn't a driver problem, but your system/configuration! Make sure you have enabled the "CMSS" option in the CMSS-3D tab, if you have 7.1 speakers. Also make sure, you select 7.1 speakers in both AudioConsole and the Windows Sound/Multimedia properties. Microsoft does not allow for these changes to be made by an external program (like in Windows XP). You can also use Windows' built-in mixer to check the individual volumes of each speaker, like you did with Surround Mixer in XP.

Browsing on Apple pages I've read that QT 7.1.5 was Vista compatible (written .../XP/Vista), and 7.1.6 not?
I think Apple should pay much more attention to its software quality, also if it is for Windows rival. That's not serious. Vista is out since 6 month now and there is not a decent QT update for it.

You are correct, Blue tooth low engergy, BTLE.(only) devices are not backward compatible with Classic bluetooth and cannot connect.
However the Apple 4S and above have Bluetooth 4.0 support.. Hardware wise it has bothClassic Bluetooth, like the 3GS, as well as Bluetooth Low Energy. There is no good reason why your 4s cannot communicate to your Sony in-dash player using the Classic bluetooth that resides in the 4S.
I know that this does not answer the why it does not work, but it should work. Do you have to somehow re-pair the new phone up to the player? Not knowing the model of the Sony it is hard to investigate.
And I hate to ask but are you sure that the Bluetooth radio is on in the phone?

The 4.0.1 and 5.0 are two separate versions as installing 4.0.1 over 5.0 will just give you the old 4.0.1 as the end result.
The 5.0 is partially as a security update in place of 4.0.2.
The Skype extension was only for to make it so you can dial phone numbers on a web page in the separate Skype program right so if you were not using it then no need for the Skype extension for the separate Skype application to work.

Ipod restores in XP not vista? What's wrong?

Good morning all,
I'm on my 4th Touch since Christmas as they keep bricking. I've had an iPod before and I look after it, so I'm not quite a novice but not massively experienced.
Anyway, I've got the "disk cannot be read or written to" error, so I tried a restore - it gets about halfway and I get the disheartening error 6 which forces my beloved touch into restore mode. I uninstalled everything apple from my laptop and started again with a new download from the apple website and tried again - Same problem.
I thankfully have a works laptop with XP on it, not Vista home basic which I have on mine, so I installed iTunes on that and it restores perfectly.
Now, my question is this. Why will it not work in Vista?
As a precaution I have even deleted my library, not much at 100 albums, just in case there is a corruption in one of the files which is causing the "Disk cannot be read etc" error and I'm starting again - Thankfully I have my iTunes purchases backed up.

Thank you, I went through the troubleshooting guide you put up and I think I've found the issue.
The firewall (zone alarm) seemed to be blocking the music library, even though I'd granted it access. Disabling zone alarm, whilst still being protected by the firewall on my router, has enabled me to sync all my music onto the device.

It sounds like you restored from an old back-up. Did you back-up just before your software update? It will use your last one and if your last back-up was a ywear old then it will use that one.
In general, if you are getting these messages on your iPhones select logout (when you get that Apple Id request) and then log back in with your newer ID.
