Karaoke songs have lyrics or is that something else?

I'm considering buying a karaoke machine that is ipod compatible. If I want to buy a karaoke song, does it come with the lyrics or is it just an instrumental song?

The songs in the iTunes Store labeled "karaoke" are just instrumental backing tracks. They do not display lyrics.

Make sure you understand the difference between an Audio File and a GarageBand Project File (also known as GarageBand Song File)
The + sing in the My Songs page is for opening a GarageBand Project File, either a new one or one that is copied vie the iTunes File Sharing mechanism. If I understand you right, then you want to import an Audio File from your iTunes library in a GarageBand Project and not open an existing GarageBand Project.
To import an Audio File from your iTunes Library to an existing GarageBand Project.
Make sure you sync your iTunes Library (all songs or a selection) to your iPad. This is the standard procedure so you can listen to your iTunes Library on your iPad (this step has nothing to do with GarageBand yet)
Once you are in your GarageBand Project, tap the Loop Browser icon (the ribbon) to open the Loop Browser
The misleading part here is that this window can display three tabs, not only the Apple Loops. It also displays any synced audio file via the iTunes Fle Sharing (the tab is labeled "Audio Files) and also any songs that you have synced to yoyr iPad that I just described. This tab is now called "Music".
Look at the screenshot of my previous post. The Music tab provides the same browsing capabilities (Playlists, Artist, etc) as your iTunes.
Navigate to the Kareoke Song (audio file) and drag it onto a GarageBand audio track
I explain all those details and concepts in my GarageBand book
    Hope that helps

Mavericks is an upgraded System in the same way that Mountain Lion was, the difference being that it's free. You can download the installer from the Mac App Store (the system requirements are the same as for Mountain Lion so you should be OK there). I've not got it: reports suggest that it is an improvement over Mountain Lion but it has some quirks that may or may not be an issue for you. It has its own forum, so you could look there for information.

  • How to play karaoke song with lyrics

I've purchased a couple of karaoke songs, but when I play them the lyrics don't show. Is there something else I need?

The Music app on the iPad doesn't currently support lyrics (http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html), so you'll need to look in the app store for a third-party music app that does - you could also do a search on this forum to see if any have been recommended.

  • I have old Macintosh LC that recently passed on,  anyone know where I can get this repaired or have the data transferred into something else?

I have an old Macintosh LC that recently went down.  I am located in the Portsmouth, NH area.
Anyone know where I can get this repaired or have the data transferred??

How much $$ do you care to spend to transfer the data on the LC's 40 or 80 MB hard drive?  The original LC is now 21 years-old and has little if any market value (I know - I have an LC I and an LC III), so professional repair will easily exceed that.  It's considered "obsolete" by Apple's authorized repair shops, so parts are not available.  Was it starting up normally before it stopped working, and if so, were the date & time always correct after it had been disconnected from an electrical outlet?  If not and if startups have been hit or miss for a while, your LC undoubtedly needs a new PRAM battery installed.  It's a 3.6-volt ½AA lithium battery and is installed in a black plastic holder w/retainer cover clipped over it on the LC's motherboard.  The battery can be purchased at battery specialty retailers for about $8 or less, as well as from a number of online merchants.  If you don't mind paying 2-3 times the value of the battery, Radio Shack carries it.  If you need directions for installing the battery, post back.  It's the least expensive thing to try and a new battery has brought many a dead Mac back from the dead.  As for the internal hard drive, it could be removed and installed in a slightly newer, pre-G3 Power Mac having an internal SCSI bus.  If there are any thrift stores in your area, you might find a suitable Mac for this purpose.  This would involve removal of the hard drive from the LC and installation in the newer Mac, with a slight change in the LC's SCSI address jumper placement.  Once installed in the newer Mac, the files could be copied.  If this is more challenging than you planned on, you might check your area for a Mac User Group, where you might be able to take your LC and have someone transfer the files for you.  After the files have been transferred to another medium, you may have problems trying to open them on a newer Mac running a newer OS version than the LC's (System 7.0, 7.1, 7.5.x, or 7.6), if the programs aren't compatible.

  • Are there no Lyrics, if you buy a karaoke song?

    Hi Experts,
    I have downloaded the song
    "Karaoke - Everybody Hurts"
    Various Artitsts
    Karaoke - Male Alternative - Vol. 2
Does this file has no lyrics?
If I play this file in iTunes I see no song text!
What must I do see the lyrics of this song when playing?
Many thanks for your help in advance and
    Best Regards
    George!
    PC   Windows XP

    Hi,
    many thanks for your information.
I think this information and the fact, that iTunes calls this song title Karaoke very confusing, because if you buy a karaoke CD in a music shop, the CD has lyrics which can be displayed on television, if the CD or DVD player understands the karaoke format.
I know that I can get lyrics from internet, but if I buy a karaoke song version I want to have the lyrics shipped with the song and displaying lyrics synchron as used.
Does iTunes not have such songs with lyrics? Do I get them only as CD in a music shop? On which sign can I recognize real karaoke songs with lyrics?
Many thanks for your help and
    Best regards

  • Songs with Lyrics being skipped

Hello, I have about 100 songs randomly in my iTunes list that have added lyrics to them, and although they play fine on my computer, when I try to play them on my iPod (60gb video) they skip about 90% of the time. I don't view lyrics really, but it's annoying when I want to hear a song and it won't allow me to. I have just deleted all my songs with lyrics that I could find, but I was wondering if there was a solution that would allow me to keep the lyrics.

  • CF9 - display .rtf file inline (conversion to something else okay)

    Hello, everyone.
Just wondering if there is a way to display an .rtf file in a browser?  Every method I've tried, so far, just asks the user to download the .rtf file.
If I have to convert it to something else (like XML), first, I can do that.  The .rtf file does not reside in the filesystem, it's a binary in a BLOB in an Oracle database.
    Thank you,
    ^_^

I'll look at the spec, thank you.
    I Googled:
    ColdFusion "convert rtf to xml"
    "convert rtf to xml"
    ColdFusion "display rtf inline"
... and a few others that I'm not recalling, right now.  Most of the links I found (99%) were for "FREE SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD", which I can't go anywhere near.
One of the links was to a forum where someone mentioned what I posted, earlier, about converting to XML, then using some built-in CF XML tag to parse.  Can't find it, now, though.
    ^_^

  • Need karaoke songs I purchased to have the lyrics so I can put on a cd for playing in karaoke machine

need karaoke songs I purchased to have the lyrics so I can put on a cd for playing in karaoke machine. why bother purchasing karaoke music if the lyrics are not there? If you can purchase entire movies, why not music and lyrics? Apple should offer in iTunes but instead customers are going to other karaoke sites and spending their money elsewhere.

    Kitty,
Unfortunately, the iTunes Store does not sell karaoke tracks.  Any song labeled "karaoke" in the iTunes Store is simply an instrumental backing track.
By all means, check out the alternatives and buy from the retailer that sells what you want.
If you would like to make a suggestion to Apple, use the iTunes Feedback page:

  • Does anyone know how to burn a CD+G (karaoke CD) onto a Mac so that I can then burn it onto a CD to use in my karaoke machine that will include lyrics and songs?

Does anyone know  how to burn a CD+G (karaoke CD) onto a Mac so that I can then burn it onto a CD to use in my karaoke machine that will include lyrics and songs?

You already have a CD+G disc.
You cannot make another as it is a violation of copyright.

  • I purchased some Karaoke songs from Itunes store, but I need to know which type of disk to burn to so that I get the words also.  I tried burning on a CD-R but when put in Karaoke machine I only get the audio.  Can anyone help please?

I purchases some karaoke songs from itunes store, but cannot get them to burn onto a cd with the words.  What must I do to be able use my purchase in a karaoke machine so I can see the wrds on screen as well as hear the audio?

The tracks labeled "karaoke" in the iTunes Store are only instrumental backing tracks;  they are not actual karaoke tracks.  They do not have lyrics, and cannot be burned to the usual CD+G format that a karaoke machine will accept.
If you want actual karaoke tracks,  go to a specialty online download store such as KaraokeDownloads.com.

  • Download karaoke songs from itunes with lyrics

How do you download karaoke songs purchased on itunes with the lyrics. No video lyrics are attached that I can find to download with it.

The songs in the iTunes Store labeled "karaoke" are simply instrumental backing tracks in AAC format, not actual karaoke tracks.  They do not have lyrics.
If you are looking for actual karaoke tracks, check another online store such as BuyKaraokeDownloads.

  • I enjoy karaoke and have numerous vcd's of karaoke songs. I wanted to make a compilation vcd of my own, containing my favourite karaoke songs but I am unable to achieve this on my macbook pro (mac os 10.6.8). Can anyone tell me how to step by step?

I had issues in 10.4.7 as well as 10.4.8.
My problems occurred at the beginning of 10.4.8, then many users brought light to me using WEP, which was not working that great. I changed my connections to WPA2 and my problem has disappeared. If my problem didn't resolve the way it did, I would have mentioned it the next time I visited an apple store.
The bottom line is that assumptions, complaining, and self diagnostics don't get many people very far and bringing the problem to apple helps them know the incidence of this problem, and helps them develop a reliable solution.
Though some users have reported the "cold shoulder" when reporting Airport problems to apple... I hope you weren't one of them.

  • HT1711 Why do I have to pay extra for something that I already bought? Shouldn't I be able to have access to my music even if its not through apple? This is ridiculous when I go to the store and buy a CD I'm not relegated to only playing it on one CD play

iTunes Plus is the name for the option in iTunes that allows customers to buy music at the iTunes Store that is free from digital rights management, or DRM.
Digital Rights Management, or DRM, is designed to prevent unauthorized sharing of files. This especially became a big concern for the music industry after the rise of Napster, Limewire, and Kazaa.
DRM, even the DRM used by Apple on iTunes Store content, prevented that. Apple's DRM allowed users to share files on only up to 5 computers.
According to TUAW, the new iTunes Plus songs have information embedded in them that identifies the user who bought and shared them by name.
This means that if you share your music and record companies want to track you down and sue for you copyright infringement, it's going to be easy.
This may help you understand why you would need iTunes Plus - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1711.
It may be that Android required that type of file to be able to let it sync.  See here - http://developer.android.com/guide/appendix/media-formats.html.

  • How to use karaoke songs with show lyrics

i am trying to record on garage band, it is pretty easy to bring in reg songs and do a vocal over on it butt my problem is that i want to use karaoke songs with the lyrics on the screen and record different layers one for instrumentals and one for vocals  is this possible or is there anther way to do this ?

Unfortunately, Lr can only use a single song. The usual workaround when a longer piece of music comprising multiple songs is required is to join the songs into one. However, this must be done outside of Lr.
