Kaspersky - Mac Running Slow

Good morning everyone. I am having some issues with my Mac running very slowly. It starts at startup when I attempt to login to my computer. It further runs very slowly when I attempt to do anything with the computer. Examples would be Safari, iPhoto, other programs that should not lock up or freeze. I believe it is directly related to my use of Kaspersky, and I have provided the following information from EtreCheck. Please look at this information and give me any advice you may have. You should never disable GateKeeper! It's easy enough to use non-AppStore or unsigned apps by simply right-clicking / Command-clicking the app and choosing "Open" from the Contextual Menu. That way you won't accidentally install something dangerous or annoying.
Open System Preferences->Security & Privacy->General tab.
Click the padlock if locked and enter your admin credentials.
Change the selection for "Allow apps downloaded from:" to at least "Mac App Store and identified developers."

my mac is also running very slowly with that spinning beach ball constantly making its unwanted presence felt. i've tried the following so far:
- safe boot
- cleared items from Users / Groups | Login
- checked Activity Monitor to remove any processes in red
- run disk verify
- reinstalled the OS X

Mac Running Slow after Yosemite

I have upgraded this machine but now applications hang. I have cleared the cache, deleted applications such as Chrome, repaired permissions and turned off any start up applications.

magicperfs - un-install using the developer’s instructions to make sure you remove all parts of the application. Some people recommend not installing an application unless you know how to remove it. Then try re-installing it.

I downloaded the new Lion software and now my Mac runs slow. What did I do wrong?

That didn' t fix it for me. and I also repaired and verified disk permissions that didn't help. So how do I do the next steps? Can you lay it out slowly for me please?

Mac running slow, worse since installing Yosemite from Lion

Mac started to run slow every now and then, updated to yosemite and now getting worse, slow to open programmes like iPhoto (getting jammed when using), websites and switching between the two. Get a coloured wheel often. More worryingly recently when waking from sleep, the left half of my screen is distorted like an old unturned TV!! I am a typical user with little knowledge on how macs work, so am nervous to do much. Have included the etracheck report for info. Can somebody tell me if i should take it to a mac "shop" or have any advice on fixing myself. many thanks

Based on the information you need more RAM for what you are running concurrently.
You OS X installation is defective and needs to be reinstalled.
Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

Mac running slow after mountain lion

Mac startted running slower about a week after downloading Mountain Lion. Is that possible related?

Probably not but you haven't said anything about your system configuration so that may have a bearing on things. How much RAM is installed on your machine? If you have the 2GB minimum then you almost certainly could benefit by a RAM upgrade. Please complete your profile so we know a bit more about your system, it won't help on this thread because the thread has already begun however it will be useful down the road. For instructions on how please click Profile Update.
Another thing you can do is open Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility) and run Repair Disk Permissions, I'd recommend doing that at least 2X.

Mac running slow dock file

Hi everyone today I have a question about my Mac it is on version 10.7.5
It has 4 gb of ram and 1 tv of hard drive
The problem I have is my account only is running slow and I check activity monitor and one process called dock is taking 99%-99.9% of my ram and slowing down my computer
My overall question is can in end this process or do I have to do something else

Back up all data.
In the Finder, hold down the option key and select
Go ▹ Library
from the menu bar. From the Library folder, move the following items to the Trash, if they exist:
Application Support/Dock
Caches/com.apple.dock
and move the following items to the Desktop:
Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.dock.*.plist
Preferences/com.apple.dock.db
Preferences/com.apple.dock.plist
Here “*” stands for a long string of letters and numbers.
Next, launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
Drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
rm -f $TMPDIR../C/com.apple.dock.iconcache
Log out, log back in, and test. If you still have the issue, put the items on the Desktop back where they came from and post again. Otherwise, delete the items.

Mac Running Slow - Etrecheck attached - Pls Help!

Hi,
My Mac has been running painfully slow recently. This all started when i had almost used up all my memory. I purchased a hard drive and copied files over to create more space, however my Mac is still running slow. I get the beach ball all the time when trying to do most things which is frustrating. I use Logic and Serato on my Mac and never had a problem before the start up disk got full! I thought by removing data it would resolve the problem but it has not. When i updated to Mavericks my Mac was running fine as was Logic.
I have done a Etrecheck and attached below to hopefully shed some light on the problem.
Please let me know your thoughts? All help is appreciated.

Mac running slow and crashing

Lately, my mac has been running slow, freezing, restarting, and this is new...
I have a lot of things in imovie... so I presume it might be that, but this is ridiculous! It is constantlly beachballin'! How do I make my Mac perform like it did when I first had it!

Mac running slow since digital tv retuning

I use my mac as a TV by (using Eye TV) but since retuning it for digital TV switchover my mac keeps running slow. The programmes stop and start whille the coloured wheel whirrs round. It last for about a minute and happens about every five minutes. Anyone got any ideas please?

Your system is simply not up to handling modern streaming video. What you describe is called 'buffering'.
(Are you really still stuck with the ancient Panther 10.3?)
