KB2563324 and Outlook calendar issue.

Hi
We've experienced an issue mentioned in KB2563324:
"Issue 1.9 - An appointment does not update when you use Outlook in cached mode and room mailbox is an attendee
The following conditions cause an appointment not to update on an iOS device:
Organizer is using Outlook in cached mode.
A room mailbox is listed as an attendee
Calendar processing for the room mailbox is set to AutoAccept
Organizer makes a change to in an instance of a recurring meeting"
However our problem is that apart of the event not updating on the iPhone handsets we also see "Not current" event error in the MS Outlook so the recipient cannot accept or dismiss the update from MS Outlook client on the laptop. I believe
that it happens because of the original cause from the KB:
"Cause (from KB2563324)
Exchange sends two responses for the appointment on the device that contain an exception for the appointment. The second response contains the updated time for the meeting. However, the time stamp for the appointment is older that the first response."
That would explain the MS Outlook error on the workstation saying "Message out of date" and "Not current" event.
Unfortunately the KB2563324 isn't clear if this issue could also affect the same user account in MS Outlook client.
I've also found that this problem is only affecting users with Outlook Anywhere so I wonder if  problem mentioned in paragraph 1.9 in KB2563324 would affect both the iPad calendar and same calendar in MS Outlook 2010 using Outlook Anywhere?
Could you please advise.

We have the same problems, since over one year and we are a plaything between Apple and Microsoft.
Please open a case by Microsoft Support and file this to our case number:
[REG:113111310943037] Callback:IPhone Calendar Sync Problem with Outlook
I extended above conditions:
The following conditions cause an appointment not to update on an iOS device:
User
is using Outlook in cached mode.
Exchange Server 2010 Sp2/Sp3 (NOT Exchange 2013!)
A room mailbox is listed as an attendee
or resource
Calendar processing for the room mailbox is set to AutoAccept
Outlook User makes a recurring appointment
with a room mailbox
Organizer makes a change to in an instance of a recurring meeting
This does NOT happen with OWA or Outlook Users in Online Mode or in our test case with an Exchange 2013 server.
And also only happen with iOS devices. Not Androids or Windows Phones :-(
Good luck!

  • Problem synching iPod and Outlook calendars

When I sync my iPod (Gen5 60GB) and Outlook calendars, I get a time discrepancy starting October 29, 2006 (the day DST ends). All appointments on my iPod calendar display 1 hour later than in Outlook.
Has anyone else had/solved this problem?
    HP Pavilion   Windows XP Pro

Yes I am having the same issue. I wish I had not upgraded to 7 because not only I am not able to synch contact (all of them and calendar) I also lost all playlists, movies, original contacts, etc. I cannot reach anyone in phone support and the "genuises" in the store don't have a clue except that they know there are bugs! Why release the **** thing if there are significant problems?
I hope someone has a solution!!

  • HT1692 Help--I need my iphone and Outlook Calendars to talk to each other.

After the last iOS update, my iphone and Outlook calendars are not communicating:
My iphone calendar sends to the gmail account associated with MS Outlook, but not to icloud--it does receive from iCloud.
Outlook does not to go to iCloud, or for that matter, to the gmail account that Outlook is associated with--nor does Outlook receive events from iCloud.
So, iCloud doesn't get stuff from iphone calendar, and after an aborted try at self-fixing, is no longer connected with Outlook at all.
I've tried to work through iSolutions, etc., but can't seem to follow, or match my circumstances, to what is provided. Can someone give me simple, step by step instructions on where my settings should be at all 3 points? I would be very grateful!

  • Calendar and Outlook sync issues and inconsistencies

    Hello,
These issues have existed since my first iPhone (3GS) and Outlook 2007, and they continue today with my 5S and Outlook 2010:
    1.  When I add an appointment on my iPhone calendar, after I sync with my PC the appointment in my Outlook calendar has a 99 day alarm and is marked as private.  I do not set either of these attributes when creating the appointment on my iPhone calendar.
    2.  Some all-day appointments that I create in Outlook show as 12am to 12am across two days on my iPhone calendar.
    3.  Some all-day appointments that I create in Outlook show as No Time on the iPhone, others show as the entire day.
    4.  After syncing through iTunes, some iPhone calendar items that have specific times get moved to the no time area in Outlook.
    5.  Notes for calendar appointments lose their formatting when I edit and update the note on my iPhone.
Looking for resolutions to the above annoyances.
    Thank you,
    Jeff

There was a setting I hadn't found in the PC Companion software:
On the start sync page there is a settings heading next to a spanner on the righthand side - this takes you to sync settings
Select Personal Data Selection and then the properties button for Calendar
You can then set the sync to select all your appointments or a subset.
I hope that this helps someone - it has taken hours to find this setting!

  • Curve Verizon and outlook calendar - MAJOR ISSUES

I am new to Blackberry and sorry I purchased the curve. The curve DELETED 90% of my outlook calendar BUT the calendar remains on the curve. After four hrs between Blackberry and Verizon I was told this is a known issue and won't be a fix till the bold is released which they said would be late summer or fall. I find this to be TOTALLY unacceptable - does anyone have any suggestions other than to dump it?

Since you are at an impasse, it would be worth trying the latest version of Desktop Software which is Ver 4.5.
I have included a link at the bottom of the post.
I have seen a few posts where Outlook 2000 had problems with a newer ver of Desktop software, and they solved it by downgrading to your ver 4.3. I have Outlook 2003 and Desktop Software 4.5. It works fine. There may be an issue with the Outlook version and the Desktop Software versions. At the top of the page under software is where you can get the software for future reference. • Syncing iPhone and Outlook Calendar - bug?

I have an issue syncing my iPhone 3G Calendar with Outlook’s Calendar (Outlook 2007). In general, the sync works fine, but: If I delete the current (ie first) instance of a repeating event in Outlook, when I sync, my iPhone will still display ALL instances of that event, including the ‘deleted’ one.
I have verified that this is because the iPhone is syncing the event based on its start date in Outlook, which will include the ‘deleted’ event, rather than what actually is shown as still a valid event in the calendar (which of course is what I want).
I am guessing that this is just because both manufacturers are pursuing a different methodology, but the bottom line is that iPhone claims it will sync properly, so I’d call it a bug.
I have a workaround, in that I can delete events from the Outlook calendar by changing the start date to the current one I wish to display, but this is cumbersome and of course takes more time. Is there a more elegant workaround? Or am I just doing something wrong?

When you decide to sync the second computer to the iphone, itunes will ask you if you want to merge or replace the data.
In the merge, data will be transfered both ways.
So, when you say separate, you can sync them one at a time, but in the end, all the events will be the same on both computers and iphone. Because itunes keeps merging the data.

  • Touch and Outlook calendar

I've had my 2nd gen iPod Touch for just over a week and so far it's been an adventure to say the least. After numerous crashes and lockups and some time spent on the phone with tech support it finally seemed to be working properly. Or so I seemed. On the first sync after the last total reset it moved a number of calendar events. Like putting Halloween on June 30th and July 1st. I went through every event on the Touch for the year. Comparing it to the Outlook calendar and correcting the wrong ones. I then sync'd again. The new problem is that every day in the calendar now has one of the dots indicating that it thinks there is an event on that day. This makes it impossible to see which days really do have something.
Can anyone tell me why or better yet how to fix this?

I was having similar issues and came here for support and figured it out.
I did a restart as suggested above (holding down both buttons for about 20 sec until the apple came up). Went into itunes and info and unchecked calendar. It asked if i wanted to save previous calendar and I said no- thus erasing previous Outlook entries on my itouch. Sync.
Then recheck and reload calendar....it worked for me.
Hope it works for you all!

  • @hotmail and @outlook calendars

    Hello!
I am a new Mac user and I am trying to add the calendar of my @hotmail and @outlook e-mail account the MacBook Air calendar, but the calendar keeps asking for the password and does not recognize it.
Does anybody know how to solve this problem?  I was able to add the calendars to the iPhone and iPad, but not in the MacBook.
    Thanks!

    Hello,
    Refer:
Article ID: KB00561 How to configure wireless calendar synchronization on a BlackBerry smartphone
I don't recall legacy devices ever having the ability to sync OTA calendar with Hotmail/Outlook.com. I also don't recall seeing any authoritative list of which services work and which do not. Basically, it's as the KB documents...if the setting is not available, then it's not supported by the email service you are using.
More formal information can be obtained by contacting your mobile service provider for formal support.
Good luck and let us know!

    HELP!!!!

  • Push and birthday calendar issues

I'm having trouble with push. As a somewhat separate issue, I'm also having trouble with birthdays from iCal to the iPhone, push or not.
I had no problem with birthdays transferring to my old iPhone.
Should I set up MobileMe as .mac or .me, since I have .mac?
All the settings in mail, contacts, and calendars on the iPhone are set to ON to push, and in iCal I have the birthday option on. The MobileMe Calendar does list the birthdays.
I can't get mail pushed to the iPhone, but my calendar events, except for birthdays, do seem to come across.
I saw a post last night on a different problem that suggested that Version 2.0 (5A345) had known issues, and to do a restore and get 5A347. I did that this morning and haven't noticed a difference.
I hope I'm making sense, I'm a little punchy after trying to figure this out.
I'm resending this post, as it was posted as a reply to another post this morning. No one responded, and that post is basically off the radar now. I apologize in advance.

Im having the same problem with iphone and birthday calendar. It shows on mobileme and ical but not the iphone. Please send a email to Apple at www.apple.com/feedback. I hope they resolve this issue too.

  • Sync phone and outlook calendar on VISTA 64

I am using VISTA 64 bit os.  I have a 8300 running 4.5 and the desktop application is 4.6.0.6.  I can sync everything by the Calendar. It will read both the 8300 and Outlook but then errors out.  There really is not error message, vista just puts up a GUI that ask if you want to search for a fix to the error or just quit the program.  I have tried using the compatibility mode with the 'exe' program, but that did nothing but slow it down.  Any help

if I were you I would go to the back-up section of DM and do a specific backup of the calendar database only.
    does this work ?

  • IPod and Outlook Calendar

I have an iPod video with a 30G drive, and the latest version of iTunes.
I have followed the directions and cannot get my iPod to import my Outlook Calendar. It gives no errors, there just isn't anything there. Their work-around, manually exporting each appointment and saving them as files on the iPod, is just plain silly. Who has that kind of time?
Has anyone else had similar problems and a resolution?

"Outlook 2003 or later is required for calendar syncing"

    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302270
Their work-around, manually exporting each appointment and saving them as files on the iPod, is just plain silly.
    It's silly because?
If you do not have Outlook 2003 and this method is silly, then you don't get the appt on your iPod.
Who has that kind of time?
Someone who does not have Outlook 2003 and needs the info on their iPod.
If their time is that important, they would upgrade to Outlook 2003.

  • Can't sync between moble me calendar and outlook calendar

I downloaded the newest version of iTunes, checked my preferences. i hit "sync" and it seems to go ok, no error message, but nothing is in my outlook calendar. any advice??

    Wayned,
Just chiming in to say that the DROID 2 should be working with CompanionLink/DejaOffice. How are you trying to sync? If it's via USB, my guess is that the sync troubles are relateded to the driver software failing to install. At that point, you'll need someone from Verizon/Motorola to chime in, but if you like, CompanionLink offers free support for our software and one of our techs would be happy to take a look at what might be going on. Just head over to http://www.companionlink.com/support/contact.html to get in touch.
    Hope that helps!

  • EP7 and Outlook Calendar entries

    Hi,
I have a requirement where Calendar will be collaborated with EP7 and the calendar entries will need to be edited on events triggered from Portal.
is there any connectivity between Outlook and Portal such that i can retrieve calendar data for a user and could change calendar entries programmatically  through some API.
I'll be thankful, if i get some inputs from you.
    Thanks
    MM

Well, I've followed some instructions at another thread, and gotten reid of all the CICAL links in my Services section. That's removed the "Send as" and an email address for each calendar item on the BB. Also, all of them are now the same color, and all are part of the "Default" calendar.
When I go to the DM Backup and Restore > Advanced, I see I have only one Calendar on the BB and it has all my records.
Problem is that it still doesn't sync with Outlook. All that's left on my outlook calendar are a handful of appts added after the Facebook update. The rest of the appts on my handheld will not sync, even if I set the sync command to one way / replace all.
So that's where it stands. Any further help would be most welcome.
