KDE 3.2.1 needs Qt 3.3.1 (dependency required)

The kdeartwork-3.2.1-1 build requires Qt 3.3.1 to allow KDE to use the Plastik theme (and all the other not-built-in themes).
kdeartwork depends on kdelibs, but, from my experience, KDE 3.2.1 works fine without Qt 3.3.1 (with 3.3.0, in my case).
So, I can't actually say kdelibs should depend on Qt 3.3.1. I see it more like kdeartworks should depend on Qt 3.3.1, even though it does not look right. (There might be other packs compiled against 3.3.1 though)
The KDE Requirement list (http://www.kde.org/info/requirements/3.2.php) says that KDE Requires Qt >=3.2.3. In my opinion, all the KDE packs should be built against the same Qt lib, and that lib should be set as a dependency for kdelibs.

:-) thanx a lot
kdemultimedia:
i addopted kdemultimedia and arts a little (the dependences) ... maybe you have seen kaboodle should use xine-lib now right and also play movies (finally, but it must be compiled the right way and with the right xine (that is now in arch-repos))
kmail/konqueror printing:
is solved now and should work fine (2 kde bugs that had these subjects are closed for this release --- thanx kde-team)
i18n:
as you all maybe have seen, the i18n pkgs are not yet all ready --- es and fr (and maybe others) will not build, because they have some changes, that do not want to run if you use quanta, but i think if translated, then everything (also a quanta in right language), so i will have a look at them soon --- the others will follow step-by-step (=if i find some time, i will upload them ... they are ready, but i upload with 1-3kb/s :-( )

• Need a Pegging module for dependent requirements.

Hi
Need a Pegging functional module for dependent requirements.
There is MD_PEGGING_NODIALOG ,where we need to pass the planned order number.
Please advise how to get the pegged requirements for dependent requirements or other MRP elements other than planned order.
Thanks
Prasad

Hello,
Function module MD_PEGGING_NODIALOG works with data structures of MRP list or current requirements/stock list. For a given material, you first need to fetch the relevant structures by the help of following FMs; BAPI_MATERIAL_MRP_LIST and BAPI_MATERIAL_STOCK_REQ_LIST. You can loop at the structures exported by these FMs and run MD_PEGGING_NODIALOG with the corresponding parameters of the MRP element you require. You can run MD_PEGGING_NODIALOG with any MRP element you like as in MD04 and MD05 transactions.
Regards.

• Latest Flash Player needs to loaded everytime a file requires it!!!

Updated to Flash Player 11-15 (whatever it is) at least a dozen times and everytime I need to access a file that requires Flash Player to open, it automatically links to the DOWNLOAD button for FP!!!!  This is ridiculous as I have done at least a dozen times in past 3 days.  Although I occasionally use Chrome, I have been primarily using IE for browsing.  Don't recall in past 25 years ever having a problem downloading an Adobe program.  Tks

Can you try clearing your browser and Flash player cache to see if this resolves the problem?
How do I clear my Flash Player cache and settings?

I'm planning to buy Apple TV. I would like to know, do I need netflix account, as a minimum requirement to configure and use Apple TV even if I want to perform air drop/mirroring?

No... the only minimum requirement for using and ATV is physically having one which typically requires buying one.

• LIRC / KDE freezing for months, need a solution now!

First of all I've been following these two threads until no one has posted anymore
Hard lockup, no logs, how to debug?
Computer freezing how to troubleshoot?
Actually, for me, they have been too general in the sense that most everyone has found a completely different solution, for some it was ATI, some Nvidia, some Gnome, some had solved it with specific modules like wifi. But I need answers for mine and since I have no clue if it's kernel / module related, hardware, software or ever where to look anymore (newbie forever!) I'm posting to the Newbie forum.
And this is how it looks:
Around November last year my computer started freezing, AMD64 2,6GHz desktop, 4GB RAM, Nvidia onboard graphics, all about 3 y.o. including the installation of Arch Linux x86-64. Until now I never had a problem. Then it all came down. It froze so often causing me to do so many hard resets that I eventually lost about 100GBs of data, only some of which I could recover. And it continued to freeze, so over the holidays I reinstalled Arch 64 and KDE, this time however alongside Ubuntu - just in case... In the beginning it froze up mostly while playing audio or video in Amarok and XBMC, but this is what I usually do with it anyway, often just surfing in Opera or Chromium, occasionally moving files and sometimes just clicking anywhere with the mouse will do the trick.
And this is what I have attempted to solve this, well, besides a completely new installation, I have tried downgrading many packages, removed daemons, switched to linux-lts, tried the nouveau driver, tried different audio backends, removing unneeded gstreamer plugins, switched off compositing, removed my dot kde directory, created a new user - all without absolutely any difference in behavior.
Then I thought it might very well be a hardware issue althought I have to say this - Ubuntu has not crashed even once. Over the weekend I left Ubuntu running for 3 days and found it just as I left it, then booted in to Arch, went to play softball for a couple of hours and came back to a frozen system. I also installed a case fan, bought a new Nvidia card but nothing has changed. When it freezes I can reboot and it will run for another few hours, so it can't be too hot.
This is a real nightmare and I cannot find anything in the logs, only an occasional suspicion that leads to nowhere. My suspicions now are powersaving and evdev. I really don't know where else to look so I am asking the help of the Arch community to have a look at what I have previously posted in the aforementioned threads in addition to my description here and tell me which logs you would like to see. Many thanks!

• KDE Konfusion: 1 panel needed to be recreated; toolbox non-responsive

I've been using Arch for about 2 minutes and KDE for about 2 seconds.
I should say that I'm not confident I understand KDE's terminology yet and the more I read, the more confused I get. I'm somewhat frustrated by KDE's built-in help because it seems only to explain the easy things and never the difficult or detailed ones!
So I configured my desktop (I think it is a desktop - or is it a "containment" or "plasmoid"?) as follows:
- 1 panel at top left of screen containing three different launchers (menu, kickoff, lancelot) so I can try them out, knowledge base widget, various application launchers
- 1 panel at top on right of screen just to left of the desktop toolbox (not sure this is the word - it has a cashew and sometimes the word "desktop" and cannot be moved or altered as far as I can tell) containing other widgets including the system tray, notifications, monitors, clock, navigational stuff (activities, dashboard, show desktop, pager) etc.
This seemed to work fine until I started up today. The right panel continued to work fine. The left panel responded only to right-clicks. Left-clicking on the leftmost widget changed virtual desktop. Left-clicking on others either did nothing or also changed to the same virtual desktop. The desktop toolbox was entirely unresponsive initially although it now seems to also take me back to the same virtual desktop if I click on it.
Rebooting did not help.
I removed the left panel, added it again and reconfigured it. That now seems to be working - at least for now.
The desktop toolbox remains unresponsive and I cannot, as far as I know, remove and replace this. I have tried various somewhat random configuration changes but nothing seems to have any effect whatsoever.  Right now, left-click on the cashew takes me to the same virtual desktop. Right-click is just like right-click anywhere else on the desktop.
One thing I've noticed is that the word "desktop" no longer shows up all the time. Also it no longer looks as 3d as it did before. It used to be slightly deeper than my configured panels but now it looks more like just another very small mini panel (which doesn't do much).
When I shutdown last night, plasma crashed. This seems to occur more frequently than I like (ever since I installed Arch - before I'd made anything really by way of changes to KDE). Every time, it takes me through a process of requesting and gathering bug info and then announces that there's not enough so it isn't worth sending a report to the developers. I don't know if this latest crash is connected to what I'm seeing or not.
I am not sure what the difference between the "Desktop" and "Desktop Icons" activities are but "Desktop" seems to be the default one and I think I'm just staying in that activity. (I did try switching just to see if it made any difference but it didn't help.) I mention this only because I'm not really clear what activities are and so I'm not sure whether it might be important or not.
I realise this sounds very confused. That's the result of spending the entire day trying to figure out what is going on with man pages (are there such things for KDE?), help centre, google, arch's forum/wiki search and random trial-and-error. I mention this only because I suspect it will look as though I haven't bothered trying to find the answer which I'm sure must be obvious really. (I'm sure there was a simpler way of rejuvenating my left panel than removing it and making another, as well!)
Any pointer would be extremely welcome.

Thanks. ihatethecashew sounds great. RIght now, KDE has randomly decided to not let me install further widgets so although it is built I cannot use it. But I expect it will randomly decide otherwise at some point.
On reboot today, my left panel was again not usable. So I decided to remove it again and add everything to the right panel. Maybe having more than one is a problem?
I appreciate the link, too. I think I've found parts of that site when googling for things but not the introductory page which you linked to.
Also, just after I installed ihatethecashew, the toolbox cashew randomly responded again although it has now refrozen.
I'm pretty sure there's some logic to this - I just haven't a clue what it is yet!

• Need to run a program that requires windows... do not want to buy windows!

We have been very happy Mac users for years now- recently I purchased some school software for my son (Switched on Schoolhouse) and it only runs in a Windows environment! I am so disappointed with this, but on further investigation saw that I could run windows ( I do NOT want to resort to this) just to run this ONE program!
I saw somewhere that there are emulators out there that allow you to run this software on a mac without needing to install windows at all- they failed to mention which one they were using and I am very inexperienced about this and would love if somebody could point me in the right direction!

Hi and welcome to Discussions,
I concur with the recommendation of Crossover.
A fairly new addition is Macindows http://www.pioneeringsoftware.co.uk/pages/products
Since both offer time-limited trial versions, maybe try them for yourself to see which one better fits your needs.

• MULTISIM need help with placing current dependent current source?

as you can see it is a current dependent current source and has value 2*I(x). i have placed it in a circuit in multisim but i have a feeling i'm doing it wrong:

and don't worry about the 25-amp resistor at the right it was the load resistor we had to place.

Hello,
Well from the first circuit you have there, you are looking for the current source to output 2x curret passing between the 10ohm resistor and the 19v source. So you need to connect that line to the current controller (the square thing attached to the current source), basically running a wire from the voltage source to one end of the controller, then running the other end of the controller to the 10ohm resistor (deleting the connection between the resistor and the source so that they only connect through the controler).

• Need user-exit/BADI for my requirement in transaction CRMD_ORDER...

Hello Experts,
I was just given a development task under CRM module. The transaction that I would enhance
would be CRMD_ORDER. What I need to do is that I need to check the customer class
in table CRMM_BUT_FRG0041-classific if it falls under 09. If true, then search for the
condition exclusion from the table PRCC_EXCL_PROC for a given combination and by checking the
fields KAUGR1 and KUAGR2. If found, then bypass this exclusion for customer class 09 so that it will
be given a trade discount and bypass the pricing procedure.
Hope you can help me guys as I am fairly new to CRM module. Thank you and take care!

Hi,
You will have to put the required Logic there and test.
But what I feel is you need to use IPC Pricing routines, which are assigned in the Pricing Procedure. They are java routines.
According to my understanding, you will have to first check the customer class from table CRMM_BUT_FRG0041. If it is 09 than u read the condition exclusion groups, the condition type assigned and bypass it.
Wish it helps.

Shalini Chauhan

• I need to reinstall CS5, but it required CS2 to be preinstalled, it is no longer supported.

I had to have my hard drive formatted and reset.  I lost my programs and need to reinstall CS5.

That is not a requirement. If your CS5 is an Upgrade all you need to install and activate it is your CS5 serial and the serial number of you product that your upgrading. That product does not have to be installed.  If It is installed  you would not need to enter its serial when you install CS5 and activate it.  If it is not installed you need to enter its serial during the install and activation of CS5.

What's going on?

This is a good reason to start your adventure with abs and makepkg.
Fist uninstall kde-i18n-es with
pacman -R kde-i18n-es
Synchronize abs tree by running
abs
as root. Then copy the PKGBUILD file
mkdir /var/abs/local/kde-i18n-es
cp /var/abs/extra/i18n/kde-i18n-es/PKGBUILD to /var/abs/local/kde-i18n-es/
Edit the copied PKGBUILD file and change the lines like this:
pkgver to 3.2.1,
pkgurl to ....stable/3.2.1/....,
depends to kdebase=3.2.1.
Remove the line which starts with md5sums....
Save the file and run
makepkg
in the new directory.
After makepkg finishes run
makepkg -g >>PKGBUILD
This will add the new and correct md5sum line. Edit the file again and move this line where it was placed originally.
Now you can upgrade kde as usually and install the newly created i18n package with
pacman -A /var/abs/local/kde-i18n-es/kde-i18n-es-3.2.1-1.pkg.tar.gz
Alternatively you can create a local repository - read
man pacman
for instructions.
This is what I've done with kde-i18n-pl.  It is really easy and you will always be up to date when upgrading kde. Enjoy :-)

• 2x iPhones 2x People Need to keep info separate Help Required

I have just got two Apple iPhones for my business (One for me & one for my girlfriend)
Now here is the big questions;
Both phones are for me and my partner and we have different requirements for usage. The phones will be used by me for my business and my partner for her education course, studies and work placements.
This is to work and synchronize on the following system of 3x computors:
G5 Tower (Used by both me and my partner on my log in)
Macbook Pro (Used by me out of the office while on the road)
G4 Laptop (Will be used by my partner)
All running the latist OS X System Software.
There is currently 1x .mac account that I have and my partner uses a secondary id for her email. (which is received on the main G5 tower)
Now what I need to know is what I will be needed to do to have the following functionality with my systems compatibility?
a) I want to be able to receive my emails, run my own calender, notes and web-browser favourites on the shared G5 Tower + my Macbook Pro & iPhone without getting any of my partners info on my Macbook Pro or iPhone
b) I then want my partners info only to be on her iPhone + her G4 Laptop and the on the shared G5 Tower, without getting any of my info on my partners G4 or iPhone
c) This means that our own laptop & iphones will only have our own info on them (emails, calender, notes and web-browser favourites ) But the main home G5 computer will be able to access both.
So the big question is how do I set this up?
1) Will I need to upgrade my .mac account to a family pack?
2) Will I need to have any extra software?
3) Will I need to have any extra hardware?
4) What else will I have to have?
5) Any advice I should need to know?
6) What would any of these upgrades cost?
7) Or can I do this with the system I already have
Thanks for any help and advice you might be able to offer.

Okay, setup 2 seperate calendars in iCal. You have three options (2 really, though) for calendars
2 seperate iCal calendars (one for you and one for your gf)
2 separate google calendars (subscribed to by iCal)
or 2 seperate iCal mobileme calendars
if you choose the first option, you'll have to download the subscribed calendars to the towers. And just select only her calendar to sync to her iphone and your calendar to your iphone.
b) I then want my partners info only to be on her iPhone + her G4 Laptop and the on the shared G5 Tower, without getting any of my info on my partners G4 or iPhone
Again not sure what you mean by info (calendars, music, apps, photos?) you can individually select which photo albums, music collections (playlists), calendars, and apps you wish to sync
c) This means that our own laptop & iphones will only have our own info on them (emails, calender, notes and web-browser favourites ) But the main home G5 computer will be able to access both.
I really don't understand this. It sounds like you want all the items synced with the main G5, non? If so, why not just use mobileme and calendar subscriptions?

Hi,
Since you can have spaces any where in the file/field, use "String Tokenizer" concept, you will not need java mapping, you can use graphical mapping and write UDF by selecting "All values of the Queue/Context"

• I need to buy an app that requires OS X version 10.10 and my computer doesn't have it. What should I do? I need "Numbers" app ASAP

Please, I need to update my computer in order to buy an app; what should I do? Thanks!

In the Mac App Store under Updates you should see a banner to update to OS X Yosemite, or you can search for Yosemite in the App Store and update in the event that you don't see it listed under the Updates page. Once your computer has updated, you will be able to install Numbers and other apps that require OS X 10.10.
Have a great day.
