KDE apps in awesome: ugly and missing icons

Hi,
I use awesome WM and now installed a KDE app (rkward). The problem: It looks like sh** and all the icons are missing.
What additional package is needed to display them? And can the complete look be improved too?

When I logged out/in $PATH was updated and I can call the apps directly, also they got added to the gnome meny.. but guess what? still the same problem

Hello I hope, that someone can help me. I have web service which i use with crystal report. If i test on local machine than i see just it has to be, but soon if i roon my web service i have problems with icons... here is example but if i want to see if is path right on missing icons doesent shoe me nothing, just blank " align="middle">

Why are so many app icons either pixelated or missing? No photo thumbnails in Photoshop CS6 and missing icons for newly installed applications.

Even after a clean install of new applications and permission fixes and disk repairs, this problem persists. Apple must have changed some specifications for thumbnail icons in Mountain Lion. This is a particularly frustrating problem with Adobe Photoshop CS6. If you attempt to save a CS6 file in any format, the thumbnail image icon just disappears or appears dark, with no image visible. I have spoken with both Adobe and Apple about this and no one seems to want to accept responsibility, but I'm beginning to believe the issue is with Mountain Lion, as I did a clean install of a Mountain Lion friendly and compatible app today and the end result was that there is no icon for the application. The application will run, but you cannot see an icon for it in the dock, only the name. This is absurd! Seems like paid "upgrades" are now becoming downgrades. At least that's how I feel when I actually lose rather than gain functionality.

this is happening to me too. if i create a photoshop jpeg file it has no thumbnail icon. the file seems to be there by name only?

In xcode i deleted my default.png file and know my app says 0 target and missing base sdk how can i fix this please

Disorted image and missing icons after sleep

I sometimes get this error:
after waking from sleep / hibernation.
After this, some system icons are missing too:
In third party applications, too.
After rebooting the disortion is gone (killing Dock or Finder doesn't help), and after safe-booting and opening every affected app, then booting back normal it works, too.
Happened 4 times.
MacBook Pro 13'' 2012, 16GB RAM, 256GB Samsung SSD 830, 1TB Samsung HDD, OS X 10.8.2.
Any ideas?

Personas - Export / Import and missing icons

Morning all.
Have many of you used the import / export feature to move flavours between clients? I have used it successfully in the past but the now have an issue.
I have 4 flavours and a bunch of media files, many of which are shared amongst the flavours. When I export them the export is missing quite a few of the media files.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

further testing has revealed that it's files of type 'icon' only that don't get exported, the 'pic' file types export fine.
Can anyone confirm the behaviour on their system please?

Downloaded an update for an app on my iPhone5s and 2 icons appear "greyed" out - neither one works!

After downloading an update to a Sochi Olympics app on my iPhone5s, 2 icons appeared on my screen and neither one works. They are both "greyed out" and not lit up like all the rest of the apps. When I held it down to "wiggle" it, there is no "X" in the upper-right corner. How do I fix this??

Have you check the following?
Verify that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.
Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings
Ensure that your device is using the latest software.
If your issue is still unresolved, perform a software restore in iTune

"Sign In" on every visit, and missing icon

Ever since the forum forced me to log in with a Lenovo ID, it is also forcing me to click "Sign In" on each new visit. It has my credentials cached, because it doesn't prompt for my password, but it is very annoying that it requires this.
There is one other new cache-related behavior, the forum's "favicon" is now blank. This is the little icon that appears next to the site URL at the top of the browser, and also next to the site's Favorite if you pin it to the bookmarks. This makes the forum link quite a bit harder to find.
Using the forum is messy enough without these issues. Please fix them, thanks.

Missing menu bars in KDE apps

The menu bars have disappeared in some KDE apps such as Okular and Kdenlive, so I can't use them properly any more!
But some apps like KWrite seem to not be affected.
I am using Plasma Desktop 5.2.1.
Pressing Ctrl+M does nothing.

I think this was a theme problem. I deleted my .kde4 directory and the menu bars returned...

IPad mini missing App Store and safari icons after update

I just recently got a iPad min and let it do the update to 7.0.3 iOS and after it ran the App Store and safari icons are missing?

Safari should be in the Dock.
There's only one Safari app.

Xcompmgr messing with openbox windows (conky and kde apps only)

here's the involved packages:
openbox 3.4.7.2-1
nvidia 177.82-1

now the issue is primarily with xcompmgr. when it's running (default options or the whole -cCfF... stuff doesn't make a difference). i have the following:
whenever a kde apps window opens. (i.e. i start amarok or k3b; k3b opens new windows during burn start/stop process) my conky will disappear only to flicker and reappear a few seconds later. (this only happens with kde apps)
when i'm tweaking my conky i will often `pkill conky; sleep 3; conky` to see my changes. when i kill conky, ALL of my active windows on the current desktop disappear and only reappear if a) they are redrawn because of an update to their contents on their own accord, or b) (kinda the same thing) i grab a window and drag it all over the screen resetting whatever i pass over to it's correct visual state. (this only happens when killing conky)
this is annoying me, i love the shadows/fading from xcompmgr but this flickering makes my whole experience feel unstable and i have to turn it off after a few minutes. turn off xcompmgr and it's rock solid just as before... snappier too i think.
this behavior started immediately after the recent xorg update (i saved that for last because i know were all sick of _that_). i changed nothing, but for the -Syu when this happened.
anyways, your thoughts and help is much appreciated.

so i'm resurrecting this thread because i hoped, and prayed, that xorg 1.6 in testing would fix this problem. i've been working my ass off to keep my system back in xorg 1.4. my desktop just looks so oldfashioned w/o shadows and transparency.

now, here's what happens:
i startx, .xinitrc or autostart.sh bring up xcompmgr, bmpanel, and conky
if i open amarok or k3b, conky and bmpanel (both using transparency) vanish while the splash screen(s) show.
when i burn something with k3b (and new windows appear) i see similar behavior
sometimes it's just for a sec and then it's back, sometimes conky comes back with part of itself missing
also, if you execute `pkill conky` from an xterm, all windows are 'destroyed' until you [blindly] grab that xterm window and move it about your desktop 'revealing' the desktops contents. please see this screenshot for this in action.
killing xcompmgr fixes all this... but it's so ugly. the problems go away if i downgrade to xorg-server 1.4 (and also adjust any related/dependant packages to match).
please please, tell me i'm not alone! a fix would be nice too .

KDE and kde apps don't started

Couple of days ago i had installed arch32 from arch64 using this how-to https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sw … i686_HOWTO, everything works fine except i needed to reinstall man-db & delete libreoffice configuration dir. Yesterday evening i installed kde, and kdm works just fine, but when starting kde the splash window reaches the first icon & crashesh. xinit/slim do that too, also apps wont start.

Text labels missing under Library and Viewer icons in V31

I just built a multi-folio app with DPS Pro Edition. I specified V31. When I preview the resulting Developer app on my iPad, the text under the small "Library" and "Viewer" icons at the bottom of the screen is missing. The Library and Viewer icons are there, but the space below the icon where the words "Library" and "Viewer" should appear is missing.
I didn't select "Use Customized Strings" or anything like that when I built the app in DPS App Builder. Any ideas?

Can you try to build a new app and see if the labels are missing?
If the app is for both ipad/iphone try to rebuild for ipad only?
Check the app builder version number?

Missing icons i Launchpad - apps don't work

Hello,
Yesterday i discovered that i am missing alot of my icons in Launchpad:
When i open any of the apps that doesn't have an icon, it launches, but i can't do anything. It won't open any documents in PDF-viewer and iBooks instantly stops working. It happened after i upgraded to Mavericks, if it has any relevans. I've looked at several forums, and it seems that I am not the only one with this problem. However, most people fix this by deleting a certain file and using a command in Terminal, but the app isn't working becauase of this problem.. I can open the Terminal, but there's no option for typing in commands.
I hope someone can help me with this problem.

I don't know if this will help you but I experienced something similar to your issue. I had also many icons missed in the LaunchePad, it was after a clen with Clean my Mac wich did its job perhaps in a excess of zeal.
I had to go to App in the Finder and copy all apps to the LaunchePad and then, my Apps icons are back again.
