KDE trash can, where do the files/space go?

When I first move some files to the trash can, and chose empty trashcan, I don't get any free space. So where do the files go?

If you have a removable battery, remove the battery and the power.
If not, hold down the power button until the screen goes back and you are forced to restart the Mac entirely from the power button (do not respond to any shut down window.
Either way, files may reappear in the trash, or where they were located.
If not, you'll probably need a data recovery program*:

When i press command+I (Get Info) i see that there is 140 GB "Available Space" on my hard disk but when i click on my hard disk icon on the desktop, and then press "space" i only see 102 GB free!! What the f*???

Command-click all of the files you want to delete and don't actually move them to the Trash until you've gone through the entire folder.

It's hard to tell -- just going to sleep shouldn't have caused a problem. Something else may be going on.

Try assigning Queen as the Album Artist on the compilations in iTunes on your computer.

All the storage in "Backups" is taken up by local snapshots, which are made automatically in all MacBooks, MacBooks Pro and MacBooks Air with OS X Lion or newer and Time Machine turned on.

In our company we are using DHCP to assign static ip addresses to our clients.
Now we are forced to change the ip address range. To prevent changing each allocation
of mac-address to ip-address manually with the admin tool i would like to change the allocation
in the file where the allocations are saved. The reason ist that i just have to use copy & paste for all
the allocations.
So how is the file named and where can I find the file where
the static mapping allocations of the DHCP server are stored? Is it just an ASCII file?

You can go to the trial page to get an estimated size. As the Creative Cloud products change over time though this may become less accurate.
If you are on a limited bandwidth account then you may want to consider purchasing a perpetual copy of Creative Suite 6 as opposed to subscribing to the Creative Cloud.

It sounds like you may have purchased a CreatePDF subscription through safari, using our web interface. If this is the case, the good news is that subscription will also work with the (free) Adobe Reader. Simply install the Reader from the App Store:

Once installed, you can then use "Open In" from another app like Mail to open the Word document in Adobe Reader. Reader will show the word doc, but it will also show you a message pointing to the "convert" button (A document with an arrow through it in the toolbar). Pressing this button should prompt you to sign into Acrobat.com. Use the same account you used to purchase your subscription and Reader will upload the word document for conversion, placing it in the Acrobat.com and Outbox section of the Reader. You don't have access to it to configure it via Time Machine? You lost me on that one, Time Machine is used for Backup.

To configure Time Capsule you should be using "Airport Utility" 5.3 or higher that is located in the Utilities folder. You can tell if its version 5.3 because the icon will have blue lines instead of orange lines like the older versions. Since you are running Leopard 10.5.6 and you ran Software Update you are probably already running the latest 5.3 version.
The light flashing amber means you haven't entered enough information so that it can get to the internet. Once you have that info entered the light will turn green.
If your absolutely sure your CAT5 cables are good you can try a hard reset. I think you have to push the reset button on the back and hold it for 5 seconds or so until the amber light blinks rapidly, then when you release the button it does the reset then.
