Kde5 application (ex: kate) menubar font size

After the last kde update and the start of migration from kde4 to kde5, I've some replaced kde4 application with their kde5 counterpart (example: kate).
The problem is that I can't change the font in the menubar with systemsettings. The font change are applied to kde4 application but not in kde5 application.
There is a way to change the global font size for the kde5 applications?
Thanks

• Menubar Font Size

JDevloper 9.0.3_1 on Windows 2000 Pro
I edited the ide.properties file:
-added: Ide.FontSize=16
-commented out all other font lines.
But no matter what I try I can not get the menubar and panel to change from its default small font?
Thanks for any info/help

This is the right approach. Are you changing the ide.properties file in [jdev_home]\jdev\system? There's also an ide.properties file in [jdev_home]\jdev\multi\system which will have no effect.

In HTML Header I put textDid you mean Page Header Text? It wouldn't have done much of anything at all in the HTML Header...
However, the font doesn't do anything.Yet another universal selector problem: see +{message:id=4184109}+
How do I overwrite the style sheet? I am wondering if I change the default style sheet, does that also affect the other pages, which is not what I want. In that case you can just include the CSS inline, which will also get round the universal selector issue. You are also recommended to use a semantic HTML element instead of deprecated presentational elements like <center> and <font>. Assuming this text is the primary heading on the page, use <h1>:

Web Management System

• How increase font size in safari?

Not the text size in windows but how increase the font size of the bookmarks menu bar and the size of the url display

Those can't be increased directly without increasing the menubar font size and decreasing the amount of available real estate for windows to be portrayed on all programs. You have a couple of built-in options:
1. Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Displays -> change to a lower resolution.
2. Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Universal Access -> change magnification.
Other options on http://www.versiontracker.com/ or http://www.macupdate.com/ may exist in the public domain.

• Firefox and fraction font sizes

Today I was experimenting with GTK font sizes, and noticed that my new least-favorite app doesn't even handle that correctly.
Check this out:
Exhibit A: GTK font size 7
Exhibit B: GTK font size 7.5
Notice how the font in Thunar's menu changed and Firefox's didn't? Through testing 7.9 as a font size I came to the conclusion that it isn't even rounding to the nearest integer, just outright ignoring the decimals.
Is there a solution for this?

augustob wrote:Is there a solution for this?
Yes, but you won't like it. Crack open your UserChrome.css file (in ~/.mozilla/firefox/<garbage>.default/chrome/) and do something like this:
.chromeclass-menubar {
font-size: 10pt !important;
EDIT: To set the default font size for everything (not just the menu bar), use "*" instead of ".chromeclass-menubar".

• Aperture font sizes

Is there any way to increase the application (Menu, Library, etc) font sizes? I didn't see any options in Aperture->Preferences.

Font sizes cannot be changed but you can zoom the entire computer screen. Open System Preferences and choose the Universal Access preference which should open to the Seeing section. There's a bunch of controls there for zooming the screen. One of them is hold down the control key while using the scroll wheel/ball/surface on the mouse to zoom in.

• Menubar font

How can I enlarge the menubar font? Recently I bought 27" imac. Then I found that menubar font size is smaller in 27" than that of 24" imac. Is it possible to change the menubar font size?

No. All you can do is reduce the resolution or examine the settings in Universal Access->Seeing. TinkerTool 3.96 allows you to change some font settings, but I don't see menu bar as one of them.

• Report viewer is not printing the exact font size format if the application is run through virtual machine or RDP.

Hi good day!,
I'm still having this problem with the font size format of my report, although I already installed this hotfix at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2768741/en-us, if I run the application using RDP or virtual machine. Anyway, I'm using VS2010 with sql server
2012 express through windows 7. Actually, I tried to search for a new and updated hotfix version but having no luck,:) since i'm not good at it (google search).:)
So, I need help on how to fix this problem.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Hardz

Hi JJorheim,
Thanks for the link that you had given. Actually, Previewing the report on an RDP or VM environment is not a problem at all because it yields smooth result based on the report design. The problem only exist if print button icon of the report viewer is pressed
which results to a magnified font size printout. I think it is a rendering problem a somewhat default behavior of a report viewer print method. So one of the remedy is to adjust the resolution of an RDP or VM to 1024x768
(4:3 ratio) as suggested by the others, which momentarily solve this problem but not necessarily the other way around.
Anyway, thanks again for the reply.

• How to change font-size of application menu

I want to change font-size of application menu. How?

Hi,
To change the font size of the Application menu, you need to change main.css file.
at 'body, td, input, select, textarea' class.
For more detail about main.css, please refer Bookshelf

• How to Modify Font Size at Application Level

There is a requirement to change the font size at the application level for ease of readability. Is there an easy way to accomplish this requirement in APEX 3.0?
Please advise.

Ah, alright so then the font does not have to change size on request?
You just want to increase the font size of a report or form?
If you just want to increase the font size of everything, you can add this to your Page's header...
If you just want to change the font-size of something in particular, then you'll have to get the CSS it refers to (use Firebug in Firefox).
For example, to change some headers and data in template 15...
Hope this helps.

• Change application font size in Thunderbird 3.

How can I change the font size in Thunderbird 3? The bold fonts are to bold and the general font size is to big I think.
I have tested with creating a chrome folder in the default profile. The userChrome.css looks like this. But it didn't work.
* Edit this file and copy it as userChrome.css into your
* profile-directory/chrome/
* This file can be used to customize the look of Mozilla's user interface
* You should consider using !important on rules which you want to
* override default settings.
* Do not remove the @namespace line -- it's required for correct functioning
@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* set default namespace to XUL */
* Some possible accessibility enhancements:
* Make all the default font sizes 20 pt:
* font-size: 20pt !important
/* Global UI font */
font-size: 6pt !important;
EDIT: Seems like the bold font is a more global problem. This is from Firefox
I have installed the ubuntu patched fonts. My ~/.fonts.conf looks like this.

Yes of course. My bad.
Here it is. Some of the entries don't have a corresponding entry in conf.avail. I accidentally deleted 10-autohint.conf from conf.avail when I meant to delete it in conf.d. Ho do I get it back?
Have tested lxappearance to change the font in GTK applications. Works, but the boldness is not looking very good yet.

• How can you change the font size in the application and system headers?

How can you change the font size in the application and system headers? I searched the system and finder prefs to no avail. Changing the screen density is not a good option.
Thanks

I downloaded Tinkertool. Found the font section and increased the size of most selections. The only thing that changed that I can see is the window label. The apple line, bookmarks line, the tool bar in safari are all the same---font size of about 4. Found the finder "show view options" but that didn't seem to change anything either. I'll keep working. Restarted all apps after changes as well.

• Setting a Pre determined Font size for an Application.

I have a Swing application that is running on Windows and the FONT size
expands on the GUI if I change the Appearance of the Font in Windows XP
This normally should not happen as the appearances of the Windows Font size
should have no impact on the application that is running.
But to be on a safer side,can can I use any method that will have a predetermined
FONT size when the Swing application executes:
like : setFont(new Font("Courier", Font.PLAIN, 12));
The code below is the starting point of the application.
public class RFApp extends SingleFrameApplication {
private RFMainFrame mainFrame;
@Override
protected void startup() {
mainFrame = new RFMainFrame();
setMainFrame(mainFrame);
show(mainFrame);
public class MainFrame extends JFrame {
private final ToolBar toolBar = new ToolBar(this);
private final StatusBar statusBar = new StatusBar(this);
private final MainPanel mainPanel = new MainPanel(this);
public MainFrame() {
super("Main Frame"); // This has a BIG FONT increase
initComponents();
private void initComponents() {
setLayout(new BorderLayout());
getContentPane().add(toolBar, BorderLayout.NORTH);
getContentPane().add(mainPanel, BorderLayout.CENTER);
getContentPane().add(statusBar, BorderLayout.SOUTH);
}

Since you really need to change foreground and etc. Use the following code to list all the resources that may set the font colors you want (the example only excludes background color resource, so it may set more than what you want, you need to pin point specific color resouces from the print out to suit your own need).
UIDefaults defaults = UIManager.getLookAndFeelDefaults();
for(Iterator i = defaults.keySet().iterator(); i.hasNext();) {
String name = (String)i.next();
Object value = defaults.get(name);
if (value instanceof ColorUIResource && !name.endsWith("Background")
&& !name.endsWith("background")) {
System.out.println(name);
UIManager.put(name, new ColorUIResource(Color.red));
}

• Specify font size in email application

Where can I configure the font size used in the email application? Especially the list of messages only shows 5 where ther would be more room if a smaller font was used.
Solved!
Go to Solution.

i do not believe there is a way to make the overall font size smaller to allow for the ability to see more then 5 email on a screen.
yes, you can change the font size with a couple of different applications in the extras-devel, but they will not allow you to see more bars of email in the email client.
if you are in an email...or have an email open, you can use the volume key to zoom in or out and make the font size bigger.
but, this does not affect the inbox, etc.

• Set global font size for the whole application.

Is there a way of setting a font globally
What I mean I want to set a font size for the whole application.
Is this posable ??
Thanks Craig

After posting over 300 questions I would think you would be passed the "New to Java TechnologY" stage.
The answer for Swing applications is yes this can be done.
I don't know how to do it for AWT components.
Since you posted the question in this forum (as oppose to the Swing forum for Swing related problems), I'm assuming this is an AWT related question and therefore I can't help you.
