KDM with XGL used to start KDE issues

Hi,
I don't know if this problem was ever mentioned but if XGL/KDE is started from KDM using XGL http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xgl … M_uses_XGL there is no possibility to run OpenGL apps even with DISPLAY=:0 added. All attempts end with
Using GLX_SGIX_pbuffer
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
Error: couldn't get fbconfig
while if I follow second method, New KDM entry starts KDE with XGL, I'm able to run all apps.
Since I don't like issues which come with second option and I would like to run software like Google Earth I'm looking for answer if someone have solution how to fix this problem.

I wonder the same thing. The icloud.com web page is pretty rediculous as of now. What's the point of the page? Ive got an iphone that has my email, calendar, photos, etc.. what does the icloud page do? I think it's a work in progress cause I dont see a need to log onto it since my devices have all the info on it already? K9A Start up issues

This is my first post and not so coincidentally my first build. The machine runs pretty good when I get it up, but there are two start up issues that behave differently, but I believe are related.
The first issue is when trying to power up first thing in the morning, nothing happens. The PSU turns on, fans turn on, LED's lightup, but the monitor doesn't kick in. So because the monitor isn't on, I can't tell if the machine continues to boot or not. I've found that if I power back down and pull the power cord from the PSU, wait 15 or so seconds, plug it back in and re-start, it boots perfectly.
The second issue occurs after exiting from the BIOS setup program. The machine will go to re-start mode, but once the monitor is powered down, it won't start back up and the LED's look and the CD sounds like the boot is stuck in a do-loop. I have to power down manually and upon re-start the message appears:
"WARNING!!! The previous performance of overclocking is failed, and the system is restored to the defaults setting. Please press any key to continue,,,"
This is very baffling because I'm not overclocking, at least not intentionally!
The machine will continue to boot normally from this point.
I've tried to perform some diagnostics such as disconnecting all peripheials one at a time, but nothing helped. I don't have a spare video card to swap and check, so that's still a possibility(?). I also suspect it may be a PSU issue, but am in the same boat as the video card.
Anyone have any idea's or experiences with these types of start up issues? Any help or idea's would be appreciated.

Yes, removed them one by one, to no difference.
I went into bios and manually assigned the timings according to the maker. These were all set to Auto prior to my changing them to 667 Mhz, 4-4-4-12. Hit f10 to save, crossed my fingers and looking through my tears, there was no change in the re-boot behavior.
I installed the D-Bracket to see what the little blinking LED's will tell. After setting up the problematic conditon, they stopped at Initializing Keyboard Controller, and then as I suspected, went into a do-loop starting at:
1. Early Chipset initialization
2. Memory Detection Test
3. Decompressing BIOS image to RAM
and hanging at 4. Initializing Keyboard Controller, then starting over at #1.
Spark any thoughts?

Build 711 client issues with XGL?

Are there any known issues with installing the latest build of the 1.2
beta client (711) on the released version of SLED if XGL is enabled?
After installing the client and restarting, I got a message that my
display couldn't initialize (or something like that, it's the standard
error when X doesn't start) and it asked if I want to look at the X server
log. I said no, did the --disable-xgl, and now X came up ok. I then
reenabled XGL using the desktop effects, and 3D is working again even
after a restart.
Just wondering if the install of the client temporarily breaks XGL & X
necessitating disabling and reenabling XGL.

I hadn't changed my runlevel at all. Simply installed the Novell Client
and rebooted. I could see I was in runlevel 5, but with no GUI since X
couldn't start. Ran the XGL disable thing, typed startx, and now the GUI
came up. Within there use desktop effects to reenable 3D effects (all
still in runlevel 5 and having never switched to any alternate terminal
screen), log off, and now it was working. Might have just been an
isolated incident.

I have an MacBook Pro 10.6, using disk utility I tried to verify my disk, but it came up with the message, please use your start up disk, I tried this, starting the computer up and pressing C, but it ejected the disk, the same thing happened while I running the computer. Is the hard drive damaged as laptop doesn't seem to recognize the start up disk ? If so, I presume I will have to put in a new one.
There haven't been any problems with the computer, apart from a sticky curser,I have run a permissions programme from disk utility, there were a lot of different ones, but it seem to be able to fix them.
Any comments or ideas ?

First backup your users files off the machine to a external storage drive (not TimeMachine!)
Most commonly used backup methods
Next to startup from the disk, have it inserted, hold c or option/alt (wired or built in keyboard) and then boot the computer and or select the disk when it appears and click the arrow.
Disk Utility is under the Utilities menu on the second screen.
Step by Step to fix your Mac
If you used the wrong 10.6 disk, it will spit it out or have issues, use the one that came with that machine or if it's defective, call Apple for a new one.

Having start-up issues with my 1st gen Macbook Pro

Hi everyone. I just started having start-up issues with my first generation Macbook Pro. It was working fine the other day when I last used it, but today I went to use it and it wont load up to my desktop...? It starts up (grey screen with the little swirly bar under the apple,) then it goes to a blue screen, then my background and dock appear, then (before any of my desktop files even show up,) it goes to a blue screen (that brightens up and then dims a little,) and it just keeps showing this with a little swirly progress symbol (shows when the screen is darker blue, then disappears when the screen is a brighter blue.) I've included a video that I took with my iPhone to show it situation. Any ideas as to what's wrong with it? Thanks in advance!

Safe Boot by restarting your computer while holding down the "shift" key. Safe booting disables all nonessential processes, often times allowing you to start up when you would otherwise crash.
As of OS X 10.5.6 Safe Boot deletes the dynamic loader shared cache location in the /var/db/dyld directory. A corrupt cache here can cause the blue screen crash. Once you restart normally, the cache will be recreated. This should take care of the issue.

I haven't tried wired ear phones, but I am sure they'll be the same way.
It's very random, but consistent enough to happen several times per day.

Well there you go, when you advertise it just be sure to say that you can't even see the scratches at half brightness and see how it goes.

I cannot access iClod because the email was accidentally input as "[email protected]", not "[email protected]". How do I reset the email originally used to start the Apple ID? Have you tried to go into System Preferences > iCloud and entering the correct information there? You will first have to "sign out" of the wrong account and then log in with the correct information.
If that does not work you should direct follow up to the iCloud for Mac forum.

With DAQmx, how to use AO start trigger for AO/AI synchronization with finite AI sampling

I am a new user to DAQmx and I am trying to synchronize AI (finite samples) with AO in LabVIEW 7.1 using a PCI 6229 card. I want to generate a finite waveform (AO) and, subsequently, collect a finite number of voltage samples (AI). I would like to repeat the AO-AI cycles in a while loop.
Alternatively, I could use an infinite AO generation and collect finite number of voltage samples on AI but always exactly at the same spot of the AO buffer.
Using traditional DAQ and a 6024E card, I used a counter triggered by AO start trigger signal (example attached). I have problems with translating this example into DAQmx.

Thank you very much for your suggestion. Late last night I actually tried a to use AI start trigger instead of AO start trigger and it worked (since I tried the AI & AO to start simultaneously, it does not matter what triggers what), even in the loop. The devil is in details, as I had to carefully wire the number of data points and what to place inside/outside the loop.
The problem with shared clock is that I need to sample the AI and AO at different rates but using AO and AI clock separately did not seem to affect the performance.
I still want to try to use the AO start trigger (as you suggest) because I would like to delay the AI by a few ms from the AO. Is there a simple way to to that?
I suppose, switching from traditional DAQ to DAQmx requires your brain to be rewired - after playing with it for a couple of days and nights I developed a "feeling" for it. One of the differences was that, in order to use this example in the loop, one has to use 'stop task' inside and 'clear task' outside the loop.

I upgraded to lion, now that I am restarting my mac, it is asking for a password. mind you i never set a password in the begining. so i used my start up cd and re set the password and restarted my mac only to be faced with the same delima. user password.

Started having issues with camera raw. cannot access from bridge. Greyed out.

Started having issues with accessing camera raw from bridge. I have CS6 and LR5. Should I attempt to uninstall CS6 and reinstall.
