Hi All,
I have fixed an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException which was being thrown while the telnet applet was running. This has significantly improved the responsiveness of the applet.

File status remains "new version available"

Hello everyone,
We are a writing team of two people and some time ago a third person joined us. We are working with RoboHelp HTML 9 and use Robosource Control to share our project. This third person has been given access to the Robosource Control project and he has opened the project for the first time on his computer directly from RoboHelp. (File > Open > Open Project from Version Control > Follow the steps). This seemed to work perfectly, but after the project opened in RoboHelp, the File status pod indicated that all files had the status "New version available". This seemed a little odd, because it was the first time he opened the project. Obviously I tried to do a "Get latest version all", but this didn't solve anything. I decided to let this be and see if it would resolve itself when he started working in the project. Unfortunately, the files still have this status. Now that he (the third person) has finished editing his topics and has checked them in, I can see his files in my File status pod and they also have the "New version available" status and it remains there, whatever I try. I've tried opening RoboSource Control and "getting" them there, but it doesn't work.
Anyone have a clue what is going on? It's not a major issue, we can access the project and edit topics just fine, but I would prefer to see this fixed asap. We all know how messy Source Control can get

File status "New version available" - UPDATED

We've been using RoboSource Control successfully for the last 12 months, but recently we've noticed that on the File Status tab in RH a large number of files have a status of "New version available". In addition, we've noticed today that the link between our projects and RSC is no longer working. The strange thing is that my colleagues and I can still open projects that are in RSC, and get the latest versions, but it still thinks there are newer versions available and any changes we make aren't being reflected on the server, i.e. we can't see each other's changes. I've tried disconnecting one of our projects from RSC and re-adding it, but it makes no difference.
Has anyone encountered this behaviour before?
We've been upgraded to Windows 8 recently and we've also upgraded our projects from RH10 to RH11. Could this be a factor?
Any help would be much appreciated.
UPDATE: It looks like the changes are being updated on the server, as I can right-click a file in source control that I have changed, choose View, and see the amendments in the HTML. What's happening is the date and timestamp of the updated files are not being updated, so I'm guessing that because of this, source control doesn't recognise that files have changed. This means that when someone tries to get the latest version it doesn’t think there is one. Is it possible that a setting on the server could have changed to prevent the date and timestamp from being updated?

ITunes 7 New Version Available message won't quit

Just installed iTunes 7 - "New Version Available" message keeps popping up every 5 seconds or so. This message took forever to type because every few seconds my computer switched from my browser application to the Finder. In other words, I can't really use iTunes and do anything else on my computer at the same time. Anyone else encounter this problem? Annoying! Tried unchecking the "Check automatically for updates" option in Preferences - that didn't help. Suggestions? Solutions?

Go to the Apple website and download the package and install it. I never rely on Software Update except to show me what it thinks I need.

If you have not done so, also install QuickTime 7.3 using the full installer.
Always remember to repair permissions / verify/repair disk before and after. And back up your iTunes data.

Pop up box: New Version Available when opening iBook

When I open an Ibook I created in iauthor I get a pop up "New Version Available" You won't be able to add notes, highlights or bookmarks until you update this book.
All my updates are up to date. Can anyone please help me with this?

Java won't update - A newer version is already installed

Hello all,
I'm operating on a MacBook Air that i recently updated to OS X 10.9.2. Along with the update, Java 7 was installed. I need to have Java 6 Update 20 installed to use some programs on this computer for work. I've gotten the files to install that update, but when I attempt to do so I receive a message stating that I cannot install on my disk. A newer version is already installed.
I've gone into finder > Go to Folder and deleted the Java folder after uninstalling java in the first place. This has not fixed my issue. Please advise. I'm sorry if this is in the incorrect format. I wasn't able to post to the applications group.

Bug in new version of Nokia Store

There is a bug in the new version of Nokia Store updated recently. When i am using it, it is storing all the images in C Drive>Imagecache>Juniper and wasting my phone memory. Even more frustrating, all apps icons are also showing up in Photos Gallery, crapping all my images. Please fix this bug. My device is Nokia X6-00 with Symbian Latino v7.5 Anna. Thank you.

A new Store Client containing the correction to this behaviour will be made available through Store as a download very soon.
The Imagecache/Juniper folder is managed, and will therefore not grow infinitely. The replacement Client will clean out the Imagecache/Juniper folder so the Gallery contents will no longer contain the cached images.

Bug with new version of itunes...cannot "see" list of movies to select for sync to iphone

Anybody have a fix for this bug....the new version of itunes is soooooo frustrating.
When trying to select specific movies for sync to ipone the window that should list all the movies available in the itnues lib disappears and i can only "see" a line where the window should be...so currently cannot add/remove movies from my iphone.

I have the same problem on both my iPad and my iPhone and it also started with iTunes 10.0.2.

Java program not working using newer version of scheduler (AutoSys)

A little background: I'm in the middle of trying to upgrade our AutoSys server (scheduler) to the latest version (version R4 to R11) and have to do regression testing to ensure our jobs will work in the new version. There's a small java program that is not working supposedly due to the following error:
Exception in thread "Main Thread" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/f1j/swing/common/JDKAdapter
at com.f1j.swing.common.Adapter.<clinit>(Adapter.java:86)
at com.f1j.swing.engine.ss.JBook.<init>(JBook.java:3032)
at com.f1j.swing.engine.ss.JBook.<init>(JBook.java:3096)
at com.test.Foo.performScan(Foo.java:122)
So in the old version (R4), it runs fine. In R11, I get the exception above. The CLASSPATH matches and I've verified that by echoing it in the shell script that calls the java program. Here's how it's called in the shell script.
echo $CLASSPATH
${JAVA_HOME}/bin/java com.test.Foo
So the Foo class was written by me, which makes use of this external library called f1j11swing.jar (for spreadsheet creation).
The source of the error is from this line in Foo (line 122):
book = new com.f1j.swing.engine.ss.JBook();
The funny part is JDKAdapter (the missing class) is in the same jar file as JBook, so it definitely finds the library in the classpath. But for some reason, this new AutoSys version is spitting out this error. I've exhausted many approaches to resolving this, but I'm still stuck.
Here's the layout of how things are called (should be same for R4 and R11):
1. AutoSys server logs into client machine XYZ as user arnold
2. arnold (AutoSys client) on XYZ executes shell script to call java program
The only significant difference I see is that the AutoSys server in R4 is HP while the R11 server is Sun. However, it shouldn't matter because the client server they're logging into to execute the script is the same linux server.
Does anyone have any ideas? I've already started dialogue with the vendor and it seems kind of in limbo at the moment. Please let me know if you need more info. Thanks.

I just checked jre/lib/ext of my $JAVA_HOME and verified that there doesn't exist any library with a class named "Adapter." We don't put anything in this directory other than what came with the original installation. I've tried isolating the jars before as well, by doing something like (to no avail):
java -cp /users/test/lib/f1j11swing.jar:/users/test/lib/Foo.jar com.test.Foo
If I remove the f1jswing11.jar path in the above command, it will complain about other things. Also, for fun, I tried dropping f1j11swing.jar into the ext folder and removing it from the CLASSPATH and it yielded the original error. Running it directly from the shell and old version of autosys works fine.
I hope I understood your suggestion correctly and please let me know if you have any other ideas. I'm surprised why java would act differently with a different version of an AutoSys client logging into the same machine and environment. Thanks.

Java Applets not working in New Versions of Java

I have developed a chat program using Applets(developed using jdk1.2),using a Server.Everything is perfectly working.Now,On my client machine i installed jdk1.4, and when i try to download the same applet it is giving Applet ClassNotFound Exception?.
I have just set the class path to jdk1.4.And trying to call the applet from a browser.
IS there any changes in writing the applets using the new version of Java?

TDM Header Writer C API: Newer version available?

we are using in our software the library "nilibddc.dll" for importing TDM data. The library "niTdmHW1_0.dll" is used to export data into the TDM data format. Now, our requirement is to support text channels. The library "niTdmHW1_0.dll" does not support the "STRING" data type but various numeric data types and cyclic channels (implicit). On the other hand, the library "nilibddc.dll" supports the data type "STRING" but only a few numeric data types (UINT8, INT16, INT32, FLOAT and DOUBLE).
Our export must support the following data types:
INT8
INT16
INT32
INT64
UINT8
UINT16
UINT32
UINT64
FLOAT
DOUBLE
STRING
Impilict channel
What is the best way to solve our problem? Maybe, it exists a newer version of the library "niTdmHW1_0.dll" which supports creating text channels?!

No, the values are not limited. The value count is free and each value of the channel can differ. The character count can be either fixed or non fixed.
For example:
0s -> "Test1"
1,5s -> "Test2"
5s -> "Hello"
The text channel should be some kind of a marker channel (event-oriented). Its appropriate time channel is not cyclic.

ITunes says new version available / Software Update says no updates???

I started iTunes today on my MacBook Air and it immediately reported that there is a new version of iTunes available. After responding to the prompt regarding a new version by clicking on the "Download iTunes" button, iTunes launched Software Update. However, Software Update does its check and then comes back with a message that there is no software to update.
The version of iTunes on my system is 10.2, not the new 10.2.1. Anyone have any idea why Software Update does not believe there is an update when iTunes does? Any way to fix this?

I've a 2010Mini and a late2008MBP15, both running OSX 10.6.6.
Updating to 10.2.1 went charming well on the mini, but not the same on the MBP:
iTunes "info on iTunes" shows version 10.1.1 running... even after I removed iTunse (and iTunes Helper) from the HDD and re-installed from a freshly downloaded 10.2.1 DMG file.
As i start iTunes, it shows "upgrade available" message, but software upgrade utility doesn't find any upgrade, of course.
BTW, I even verified iTunes.app version using "file information" and the one in my Applications folder is 10.2.1... but as I run it, it "believes" to be 10.1.1
Any Clue?

Sports Tracker new version available

Somebody found the new version, which obviously now works on new touchscreen devices (which was asked for several times in this board).
I love that app, but the new version is unfortunately not available for my E71.

Users who can install it on their phones seem to be happy...

@noplayback - your link is correct for the new version of sports tracker. What chanchan fails to realise (in his quest to answer ever post )is that nokia has ceased development of sports tracker and passed it on to a third party.
The old site is there for the foreseeable future but there will be no further development to it.
A new online component is planned by sports tracking technologies who now have the rights to develop the app further.

On my husband's iMac (Intel), the mail app v.4.6 refers to mobile me. Is there a newer version available?

OK, I think I get it now. He has OS X v.10.6.8 and I'm guessing that Mail 4.6 is the version that goes with it. It's too old to switch mobile me to iCloud; thus the references to mobile me that I have encountered in Mail & System Preferences. Guess I'll just stick to using my own computer (a not-too-shabby MacBook Air).

Apologies, I probably wasn't very clear with my last comment. What I meant was, I can only dictate where OSD and Icon files are loaded from on an individual package basis (hence they aren't a problem). I can't do the same for SFT files as they'll be dictated
by the registry path on the server.
I can set the ApplicationSourceRoot key on a test client to use the primary (non DFS) server (as opposed to the NLB namespace) for testing purposes, but presumably since the SOFTGRID_CONTENT_DIR key on the server is set to the DFS namespace, it could
still attempt to stream content from either server. Or does setting this key mean the content will stream from that server irrespective of what's held in the SOFTGRID_CONTENT_DIR key?
The Microsoft documentation for this, which appears to be limited to this blog article, states that for resilience
you must set the SOFTGRID_CONTENT_DIR key and the default content path in the console to the DFS namespace. I wondered whether instead of setting the SOFTGRID_CONTENT_DIR key to the DFS namespace on each server, I could set this to the UNC path of
the content share on each server respectively. Being as there's only two servers in the replication group, and in the event of one of them failing it won't be serving any streaming requests, I wondered whether this would be a viable option.
Doing this (assuming it would work) would still only get me round the problem of testing multiple versions of new packages, I'm still going to have to live with the delay in content being replicated to our secondary server when I publish a new app or an
update to an existing one.
